Toilet seat kept twisting off - never seen that before in any hotel!

Hotel is nice, with rather homely ambience, but the map on the site indicates its location very poorly - may be by intention, to hide that it is rather far from U-bahn. Staff do not reply emails. All the rest is OK. Quite satisfactory conditions of stay at a moderate price!

Our stay at this hotel got off to a poor start. When we- a group of 6 seniors- arrived at the hotel for our 4 night stay we were told that they had no reservation for us.Approximately one hour after we produced our Venere confirmation and voucher the receptionist admitted that the booking had indeed been made but that Venere had failed to send the usual confirming email to the hotel and, as a result, it would be one hour or so before they could have rooms ready for us.When we returned to the hotel two hours later we were offered two 3-bedded rooms in place of the two double plus two single rooms that we had booked!Suffice to say that, after an unduly long time, matters were eventually sorted out by the one (and only!) stressed out receptionist with whom we were obliged to deal.No manager or senior representative of the hotel ever appeared during our stay. Incidentally, I am quite satisfied that the fault lay, not with Venere, but with the hotel as we observed similar problems with two other groups during our stay and they had been booked through other agencies! On the credit side, this hotel provides a particularly good and varied breakfast and is not expensive by Vienna standards. It is really not very far from the main tourist areas of this beautiful city which are easily reached by public transport once you have become familiar with the excellent public service.

It's rather a hostel, not a hotel. So far the worst hotel I had to stay in during my last fews years of travel, both in terms of room quality and staff professionalism. Breakfast is cheap.

The website said that there was internet access in the hotel, but there was not! We found out that we could go to a neighboring hotel to use theirs but this was not advertised as such. The breakfast was excellent! The first room we went into had an ant problem but they quickly gave us a new room. The pool/fitness room at the nearby hotel was great. I'd recommend the Josephstadt area as a close neighborhood that's really picturesque and worth taking time to stroll around. Website could have had more specific directions as to how to get to the hotel (specific U-bahn stop or tram to take) and then how to walk to the hotel from there.

The breakfast spread was one of the best we had while vacationing in Europe. Easy access to trams and a short walk to the underground station (U6). The staff are helpful and friendly. This hotel is away from the noisy hustle bustle of city centre which makes it a quiet hotel to stay in. I would definitely return to this hotel.

Breakfast was very good. But the room was noisy, you could hear all neighbors. The room itself was big, but wc and shower room were extremely small, not enough place even to stand.

Staff is kind and welcoming. Breakfast is delicious, with several types of mueslis and yogurts and breds, pancakes, eggs and bacon, and plenty of other things. Rooms are quiet and clean. Well situated close to Alser station in a quiet neighborhood.

There are old rooms and renewed rooms. If you are lucky and you can get the new ones, you will be satisfied. The new rooms are of higher standard (as of a 3 stars hotel).

Alone we were one night for what we didn't meet the common spaces except the dining room. The dasayuno quite well, type bouffet. The enough but small room that in the picture. There is not anything to see in the alrrededores. Far from the center. They speak many languages, among them Spanish

My room was en-suite single, and there was a shower but wasn't a bathtub in my room. Since I'm a male tourist, it didn't matter. But I can't recommend female tourists use this en-suite single room . But generally spaeking, I'm satisfied with the service and the accomodation .

Excellent transport system made this Hotels location easy to get to.There were no cupboards or drawers in the room so we lived out of our suitcase, there was just a little bit of hanging space. Staff were very friendly and efficient and the breakfasts were great.

This is a small but good hotel for a week-end located near a tram and 5 minute from U station.Rooms are small but breakfast is good.No good restaurants around (at really there is nothing around the hotel) but price/quality ratio is good.

Everything was OK - especially the breakfast. Good communication with the Centre of the City. The only exception was the Lift that was out-of-order. It was a big problem for us as we were on the 3rd floor.

We stayed for a week. Though the room was not the most spacious one, it was very clean. The bed was large. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. I would definitely go back again. Bad directions on their web site. Make sure you get good directions to the hotel if not taking taxi. Overall, I give it 3 stars.

The Dependance was closed for renovation, but this was not mentioned at all when making the reservation. A note on the door referred to the main building of the Maté Hotel. Fortunately I had asked the taxi to wait, otherwise I would have had to drag my luggage 3 blocks further. The Maté Hotel had 4 stars, but the rooms looked worse than the web picture of the 3 start Dependance. There are not double beds that have a single big mattress. Some rooms have 2 single beds pushed together. Breakfast stops at 10, which is a little early on a pleasure trip. No mercy if you're 10 minutes late.
