Rooms were stuffy and noisy if your room is located at the rear of the hotel of which is a pub. The family room indicated is only good for a family of two adults and two children, NOT 4 ADULTS. Even with two adults and two children, one can hardly have space to store luggage. Room does not have a kettle to boil hot water. The house keeping does not provide daily soap, body and hair shampoo. Breakfast is low standards with bread of 4 to 5 different types, one type of bun and no coffee machine. Coffee is provided through a prepared flask. Only good point about the about the hotel (so called 3 star, not sure how they categorised the ratings)is the location. Easy access to major locations , shops restaurant and St. Stephen Church. The hotel is more like a B & B instead of a 3 star hotel.

It was too hot in the rooms, the heat was turned too high. The rest was as expected from a 3 star Wien hotel, including the breakfast.

Perfect location, a few minutes walk from Stephansdom and just a stone's throw away from Schwedenplatz. There were a suspicious smell in the public areas (lobby & restaurant) as if they were cleaned by bad quality chemicals. The room was clean and OK though. The breakfast was also OK though no hot meals were offered.

Good location in marvelous central Vienna, but these accommodations were actively bad. The room was very tiny and very dirty Also, we were cheated out of two-nights' payment. Although we had notified the manager that we would be leaving two days early (and did this with 72 hours' advance notice), they still insisted on charging our credit card. The room was not very nice. There were clumps of dust the size of old golfballs all over the floor. I mopped the floor myself with a towel when I arrived. The room had small, low, creaky, lumpy old student beds and an old student desk, as well as a window that had been painted over (couldn't see through it) and could be opened only about two inches. Overall, by the end of my stay I had become very angry at these folks, and would not recommend anyone else ever staying at the Marc Aurel.

Small hotel near city center, no sitting area in lobby. Decent buffet breakfast at connected restaurant. Non-smoking room on top floor was quiet but small. Bathroom small but not cramped, corner shower. 5 minute walk from Schwedenplatz U-Bahn. Several good restaurants next door. Bars and clubs for younger people around the corners, crowds on popular nights. Wireless in room by T-mobile 15 Euros for 3 hours, not much more than nearby internet cafe. Enjoyed my stay but on checking my credit card slip at home I found that the transaction was charged automatically in dollars with an exchange rate that cost an extra $45 for the week.

The hotel is situated 2 minutes walk from the centre of town and Stephansdom, so pretty close to everything you wish to see during your trip to Wien. Staff is kind and cordial, always ready to hear your questions. Rooms are quite big and they have both clean toilette and bathroom. Price is not so high, but you could perhaps find something even cheaper but surely less well kept.

Hotel is very central to all tourist attractions. The staff were very friendly courteous and helpful. No double beds in this hotel - two small singles pushed together. Our very un-spacious extremly clean small room overlooked a laneway with night clubs so very little sleep for first two nights.

We got a family, quad room in Vienna. It was certainly adequate, but not spectacular. The hotel is very centrally located. Resteraunts and shops are nearby. There was a great breakfast buffet, which was included in the room price. We got there really early (7am) and the manager kindly let us into the room since it was empty. My only real complaint is that the water pressure during the morning shower rush was pretty awful (I have long hair), though if you're willing to shower at night you'd certainly be ok. Vienna is an expensive city. This is a no-frills hotel, but overall pretty nice.

I loved the web site that gives me the choice of a location as first selection point when I was looking for a hotel! It was very efficient and accurate process for my 3 hotel bookings with Venere.com. And most importantly that we did not have any problems in regarding each hotel’s check-in, check-out and agreed payment! So I highly recommend to us this web sit! The Hotel is well located but not as well equipped as expected. The kitchen in the ‘quad’ room is not useable as it advertised. The room we had can be very noise when there are people talking next door and downstairs outside the hotel. The service was good and staff were friendly.

The only thing that thing that I found frustrating was that yet again, in a European hotel, I had a single room with a broken showerhead ... and the same thing happened at the next and last European hotel .. this time in Budapest .. a showerhead that had the thing that fixes it to the wall, snapped off ...

We had been traveling for over a month by the time we got to this hotel, and I’d have to say it was a let down. For the price it was not what I was expecting, If the seven other hotels we stayed in during our trip are an indication of what a three star hotel be, I would rank this as a two just to give a feeling of my disappointment. Then, our first room was very small. The smallest room we had during the trip, so small we couldn’t have our suitcases open and leave the room. It was also on the “Quiet side” of the hotel which looks out to a pedestrian walk with several restaurants and bars. Not bad if it’s cool enough to keep the window closed, but drunken people singing at 3AM don’t really make for a pleasant stay. There was also an Indian restaurant under us, which made for a fragrant room until about 11:30PM. Now, for the good news. We were moved to the front and the room was a bit bigger and, though on the same floor, higher from the street and quieter if you don’t mind cars going by here and there. Overall it’s good in a pinch if you don’t mind over paying.

As far as I can remember, the price quoted did not explictly state whether or not breakfast would be included. It would have been informative if I had known that breakfast was not included. Also, the hotel room would have benefited from air-conditioning.

The property is on a cobblestone street. It is not air-conditioned. There are commercial properties around. Cars make a a great deal of noise passing. There is a very early garbage collection. The rooms that are not on the street maybe better. It is very conveniently situated for old Vienna and all transport.

This was a nice and clean room. The only problem we had was finding it - a few days before we arrived they sent me an email notifying the name change and I didnt get this email because I was travelling. We walked around for a long time until we found it - it was in a side alley to the street name and the signage wasn't prominent. Only other problem was the mosquitos, so had to keep the windows shut.

This is a very small hotel which sadly does not have a lounge area of any type. We requested a double room for our stay and were given a twin bedded room and it was impossible to change this. It needs to be made clear to the owners that when advertising a double room this means a double bed and not twin beds. However, the breakfast was excellent each morning and the location very central and therefore we did thoroughly enjoy our stay. the hotel also arranged taxis from and to the airport which made life much easier. I would recommend the hotel to those who wish to have a central location for sightseeing purposes, with no frills!

I was disappointed on arrival to find the Marc Aurel pokey and scruffy. It reminded me very much of many hotels in India that I visited last year. There was minimum sound proofing between the bedrooms, the rooms were scruffy and small. They were spotlessly clean however. The staff were welcoming and friendly. They were very obliging with my special needs. The breakfast spread was limited and although I ate early, I am certain that it did not increase later in the session. I must however, compliment the hotel on its range of teas, which were excellent. I would suggest that this hotel might consider providing a kettle and beverages in the rooms, as there is no room service available and no bar. For a city centre hotel the prices were reasonable and the beds were comfortable. I would only use this hotel again for single overnight stays; I certainly wouldn't recommend it for longer visits!

Marc Aurel is located in the heart of the city, just 5 minutes walk from St. Stephens cathedral and a 10 minute walk from the Hofburg Palace. The rooms are small, but clean. If you want to be able to walk to almost all the major attractions, this is a great small hotel to stay in that has a reasonable price for it's location. We'd stay there again.
