Hotel well served by public transport (tram and metro). Clean and course.Excellent ratio quality / price Very good and varied breakfast. The only drawback, the rudeness of personnel assigned to the breakfast Hotel ben servito dai mezzi pubblici (tram e metropolitana). Pulito e decorsoso. Ottimo il rapporto qualità / prezzo. Molto buona e varia la prima colazione. Unico neo, la maleducazione del personale adibito alla prima colazione

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience. The staff working those two days was terrible. The manager was mean, tried to over charge for our dog. We were told a price when we checked in and when checking out the fee was twice as much. The manager was rude. He finally but quite reluctantly gave us the money back. The area seemed dodgy. Parking was extremely difficult and the only spot we found was about 2km away. Breakfast was decent but again, staff was generally unfriendly. Would not stay there again or recommend it.

This was my second stay at the lucia. I had a nice room right next to the reception area. The hotel had gotten even better than my last stay. They added big screen tv's and there were even more choices for breakfast. The hotel is in a residential area of Veinna but you can walk to schunbrun palace which is very close by. A metro station is close by that gives you easy acess to the rest of the city.

We loved the hotel. The room was spacious, new and clean. The location was perfect too, very close to underground station, only two stations to the centre. we certainly recommend this hotel.

Having now stayed at the Lucia five times with my family, I can confirm that the excellent standard never varies. Staff are always friendly and helpful and the cleanliness of the rooms and public areas are fantastic. Our stays have varied form a couple of days to over a week. It is an excellent value for money base to see Vienna.

This hotel is literally a 2 minute walk from the underground, which if you take the U3 takes you right to Stephansplatz, the main area, in about 5 minutes! It is great.

Hotel is near Johnstrasse statio on U3 metro (orange line), 49 tram to Ring, and N50 night bus for very early connections via Opera and S-Bahn to Vienna airport. Reception was very courteous and very helpful in fixing an Internet problem. Bathroom well appointed. Breakfast ample. Street-side room was noisy with window open but well-insulated against street noise with window shut.

Really a winning quality/price ratio, you have everything to enjoy your stay (including free Internet in the rooms). Of course you are not in the centre of Vienna but by U-line 3 you will get in St Stephan Platz in just some minutes. Also, the Schönbrunn Palace is at about 20 minutes walk (mind you: you are on top of a hill, the castle is down the hill, return to hotel is not as easy as the going to the castle...). There is a small mall nearby if you need to buy something, but the only "defect" of the area is that it is not good for restaurants/shops. Anyhow, I most probably return if I am back in Vienna.

I don't remember exactly the detailed information on the web page, so I can't really say if it was accurate. We were very happy with the situation. It was more like having our own apartment except we shared it with 3 other rooms. We even had unlimited access to internet and the computer was there for the use of the guests. It really was like being at home - this was great. Plus the location couldn't be better. We walked everywhere in the center of Rome from there and saw all of the sites on foot. After we made our reservation, we contacted the B&B directly because we wanted twin beds rather than a double and they changed it immediately for us. The communication with the B&B once we booked was excellent, and complete as it was throughout our stay. They even contacted us to find out if we needed a car to pick us up at the airport, which we did since we were arriving after 10 PM. The metro, however is just on the corner from the B&B. Our only disappointment was the breakfast, but this was a temporary disappointment because we could just go out and buy what we wanted and keep it in the fridge. The kitchen was entirely at our disposal, and the coffee was great. Apparently laws governing B&Bs in Rome are that all of the food has to come prepackaged, so everything, was in individually sealed plastic bags. There were pastries, and individual yogurt with fruit, coffee and milk. It's likely that the prepackaged food was perfectly good quality food, but we didn't try it at all. The rooms are 2 rooms to one bathroom, so we had to be aware when the bathroom was free and be sure to get into it when it was free. This was not a big problem once we were aware that it could be. Also, because it is an apartment, noise made in the apartment hallway can be heard in the rooms, at least in the room with the twin beds. I will try to stay at the Julius Caesar B&B again when I go to Rome, and hope they have room for me. Marion Williams

Excellent value. Only €50 for a night's stay, including a good breakfast. If you are happy to stay in a fairly simple hotel, then I recommend it very highly. My room was warm, modern, clean, quiet and comfortable. It is easy to get into the city centre by the modern and pleasant U-bahn underground railway.

Having made several change requests, I was very grateful to Reinard at the front desk who was wonderful and a big help with the accomodations and arrangements with our airport pick up and return to the airport. He was very helpful in directing us to the highlights and best locations to visit on our short stay in Vienna. We also enjoyed our walk from the hotel to the Schonbrunn Castle was about 20 minutes away. Our room was perfect for our group of 4 and the breakfast was excellent. I would definitley stay again and refer anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay with charm and great employees! Thanks Reinhard!!!

The most impressive about Hotel Lucia is the cleanliness of room. Pretty far to reach the heart of city but the train station is just at around the corner so it's very convenience. I will definitely stay here again for my next visit.

Travelling as a family (2 adult & 2 kids) we used 2 rooms next to each other. The rooms were in a side-road next to the main-street. Even with windows closed it was not really quiet during night. The Hotel is very close to the east-exit of the subway station Johnstrasse (2-3 Min to walk). Next to the station is also a Food-Store and the subway takes you downtown in 15 min. There are 2-3 good restaurants within 5-10 walking distance from the hotel.

Had difficult time finding this hotel because we did not have a map showing where it was. Arrived late and asked for room not on the street because we had read about the noise level being high. Told that no rooms available off the street as we expected. Street noise was high but with ear plugs was manageable. This hotel had a 4 star breakfast and the staff was very helpful after the first night. The surrounding was great if you went in the right direction, towards the church which was about a block away. Sat by the fountain and had a beer one day and the next day ice cream. Found out later that the underground rail had a fun market next to it but closed at 7. Stayed 3 nights which was maybe one night to long to see Vienna. If traveling by train make sure you check which station you leave by since it might not be the same one you arrived at. Very good value and if you know what to expect it is a great place to stay.

The desk staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The room was spacious, modern, and quiet. The Internet access point made it easy to check email, look up city information, etc. The hotel is close to the Metro, which made it easy to get around--even though the neighborhood itself is not very charming. We had a very hard time finding the place by car. Be sure that you ask for a parking place when you book, because they only have a few spaces in a locked parking area.

As previous people posted if you are on the upper floor room can get hot. We had cool weather so not a problem. Suggest one removes the duvet from the outside cover and just sleep under sheet/sleeplet. Room well appointed and bath quite large. Basic amenities. Breakfast was excellent. A good variety of breakfast items including meats, cheeses, breads etc. When coming out of the metro turn right and go down the hill will be about 2 1/2 blocks down on right. Hotel entrance is a few steps up from sidewalk with no ramp for wheeled luggage. If you are handicapped could present a problem. Hotel is in a so/so area. Recommend restaurants to left of hotel. We ventured out for dinner to the right and found "ladies of the night" and little in way of dining options except for schnitzel type restaurants.

The hotel is modest and some way out of the city centre. But our room was truly excellent. Very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and very modern but simple decor. The breakfasts were very good, and included in the price. An easy three minutes' walk to the entrance to the Johnstrasse U-bahn station - but then another five minutes' walk to the trains. Trains are frequent - every three minutes at peak times, and every eight minutes in the evening. Train takes 15 minutes to the city centre. Several good restaurants near to the hotel. Overall, we found the hotel to be very good value for money. We stayed a week and were very pleased indeed.

I spend time in Lucia for about 4 night around end of January 2009. Lucia Hotel is a 3.5 STARS HOTEL. It is worth for every Euro to spend your holiday at the hotel. My single room has a very big bed, it is like 2 single beds joined together. Breakfast was quite good even they do not have hot food. But you have to pay 9 Euro per night for wifi in your room that I think it should be cheaper. ... Stayed in a Single room which is cost about 52 Euro per nights including breakfast...

Nice little hotel with clean spacious rooms and good breakfast. Excellent value for money. The Hotel is situated in three minutes walking distance to the underground station "Johnstrasse". For lunch or dinner we recommend the Viennese restaurant "Meisel", just opposite the tube station, with Austrian style meals at moderate prices.

A splendid hotel with a distinctive character, a very comfortable and well equipped room and serving a very good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. Its location, a few minutes from the metro with a short journey into the centre of Vienna, was another positive feature of the hotel. As for Vienna itself, what a marvellous city with a wealth of things to see and do! Our first visit to Vienna and certainly not our last

Also if we requested two months in advance an inner room, we had a room on the ground floor, on the road: no privacy (with open windows seemed to be in camping, when someone passed on the street) and much, much noise. We asked for a more silent one. The answer was: sorry all the rooms are busy... The day after my friend had to go back home for a death; we asked to leave the room with partial reimbursement (while paying a penalty, of course). The answer was: you now pay the amount for the full stay, then if someone will book your room, we will refund the amount (yes, I see...). So, I stayed alone. For a stay of four days, including three where the room was occupied only by me, we had to pay the full amount for two people, as originally booked; and (simply a question of style), I have been asked also to pay for one bottled water drunk in the room... Breakfast various enough, position far from the center of the city but conveniently served by the underground, neighbourhood so-so; more attractive for people with a car than without.

The hotel is located in location near an underground station, by which one can easily access all parts of Vienna. The staffs are polite and helpful. The only problem is the lack of air-condition, which may cause a problem during hot days. On the whole Lucia is a very good hotel.

We traveled with our 17 years old daughter. It was the first time we stayed at hotel Lucia and we were very pleased to find a big and comfortable triple room, nice staff and good breakfast. The only problem for us was the location of the hotel, too far from the city center, but the public transport possibilities are good.

Hotel Lucia exceeded my expectations. Yes, it is a little ways out from the center, but it is a decent neighborhood and located a 3-minute walk from the metro station. The hotel was newly renovated when I was there (July 08) and I was very impressed. The reception area was very nice, and my room still had the scent of new carpet. It was an amazing room and breakfast (lots of variety!) for the price I paid. A flat screen TV on the wall of my room had CNN and a couple of other English channels. There is a supermarket very close by if you want to make use of it. I will definitely stay here again if they continue to have such great deals. The only thing missing was A/C, but I did not expect that for the price. Also, try to request a room on the back side of the hotel as the street out front can be noisy and you can't really open your windows if you have a room on the front side (only an issue in the summertime).

Convenient location within walking distance to U-bahn and Schonbruon Palace.Restaurants and pubs nearby and staff is helpful. For shopping Neubaugasse 1 U bahn stop away is good. Can buy a combination CAT ticket together with a cab transport to hotel if 3 or 4 pax as it is cheaper;otherwise take CAT to central station from Wien airport than take U bahn to Hotel which is 5 minutes walk from U bahn station.I would certainly stay at Hotel Lucia on my next trip to Wein. The hotel could add another 2 computers for guests to check mail as it is difficult to get to use the only computer at the reception;maybe charge 1 Euro for 30 mins to deter others from hogging to the only computer available now.

Excellent small, clean and cosy hotel, located in a peaceful area, close to the U-bahn. The only small remark goes for windows overlooking a noisy street, that had to be closed during the night, and consequentially the hot room. However, would gladly come there again!

A very clean, quiet and comfortable hotel, very near to transportation facilities ( metropolitan, tramways, buses ) that lead to the city center in just 15 minutes. The single room ( 305 )in which I stayed for 2 nights was spacious with a big size bed only for me and the bathroom is also big. Special mention to the minibar always full. From the room, 3rd floor, nice view over a beautiful church. Breakfast is delicious and generous, various incredible bread. We had two visits to Hotel Lucia within one week. Hotel rating could have been higher, but front desk service was uneven. Staff in the second visit could have been a bit more communicative about routine matters. Breakfast was adequate, not outstanding. Service in the breakfast area was indifferent at best. Service in all areas was excellent when the hotel owner or manager was present. We stayed in both old and new wings. In both we found no fault, with exceptional cleanliness and quiet even in an older room facing the busy street.

Très bon rapport qualité / prix pour cet hotel familial à proximité du métro et tramway (hyper-centre en 10 minutes). Anglais courant. Chambre impéccable (lit parfait !, propreté, espace, calme). We have stayed at the Lucia three times now so you can tell what we feel about it. It offers excellent value for money with very frendly and helpful staff. Well located, a few hundred meters from the underground station. We stayed in a recenly furbished room that was spacious and clean. It was on the ground floor which made it a bit noisy. Breakfast was good. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay but the moment our stay expired, at noon, they seemed very eager to see us gone. At 12:05 they rang our room asking whether we intend to stay another night which seemed exagerrated, and made us leave on an unpleasant note. If was their right of course, but we felt as if our welcome had suddenly expired.

This was a wonderful hotel, rated as 3 stars, and a wonderful value. The subway (Johnstrabe) is just around the corner and the tram (49) passes in front of the hotel. There was a wonderful authentic Austrian food restaurant just 2 blocks away and it was good, plentiful and brewed its own beer inexpensively. Just ask the desk for its name. The room was wonderful and large and very reasonable. The internet connection in the lobby was handy. This was the best place we stayed at during our trip to London, Prague and Vienna.

This is a good hotel, not in downtown but near to public transport. Good breakfast quality. The only negative point was on some service aspects, I had problems to sleep with my pillow but I didn't obtain to change it. The shower gel was refilled only on demand and the changing of toilet towels and bed sheets is not frequent. Overall it's a good place to stay some days if you don't feel the exigence to stay in the downtown.

Just a remark about the bathroom: it had no window and a bad smell came from the ventilation system when the fan was off.

Great place to stay. The breakfast was excellent, even for vegetarians. Room was spacious, bathroom enormous, and staff extremely helpful. Helped us acquire tickets to a music concert, gave us maps, showed us transportation routes. Close to subway, and the best way to get around the city. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is very close to the metro station (100 mt), so you can easily reach the centre of Vienna in not more than 5-6 minutes. It is also quite close to the marvellous schonbrunn palace, which you can reach in 15 minutes walk. The DSL connection in the hall was a plus as the rich continental breakfast we enjoyed. A bread heater would have been another plus. No doubt I'll return to this property if I go in Vienna once again.

Every bit as good as advertised. The staff were the highlight because they were so accomodating. The location, although not central, is quite near an underground station. Since Vienna's public transport system is excellent, it was only minutes to the centre of the city. We had a great Christmas weekend there.

It was a very good hotel: the room was quite large, it was very silent (no voices from the street etc.)

The Hotel was very nice and within walking distance of the Shonbrunn Palace and the trains so nothing is out of reach. The attendents at the front desk where very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. I will recommend the Lucia to any couple who plans to visit Vienna!

Hotel Lucia is a family hotel with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Reinhard (one of the people working at reception)where very helpful and made us feel very at home. We had room one which was one of the newer rooms, which really suprised us. It was spacious, clean and very modern. The breakfast was also wonderful and the staff very friendly. The hotel is also near the undergrounds which helps travelling a lot. I would recommend this hotel for families, businessmen or anybody who would just like to enjoy Vienna.

Very good value for the price. Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, a little small. Not the quietest street, but connections to city centre were good. Would definitely stay there again.

We loved the Hotel Tyl - lovely, spacious room with seating area, desk, comfy beds and marble floors! It's proximity to the Metro is terrific! The free internet in the bar is an added plus. I would definitely stay there again. The only downside is that we drove a car to the hotel; even with directions, it was difficult to find due to the myriad of one-way streets that surround it -- but the search was well-worthwhile. Also, the parking garage exit is very narrow and has a sharp right angle turn - take someone with you to direct you out of the garage.

The stay in the hotel was pretty good even if the parking space is poor(just a coople cars). The first view of the hotel from the street is not so good but inside is amazing. Pay attention to the room description: our double room was made of two single beds. Anyway we suggest this hotel to everybody who want to spend a beautiful stay in Wien. By the way the nearest ubahn station is johnstrasse.

Hotel is located in a residential area, but with excellent public transport connections. We enjoyed a very large and excellent room in the new annex. Very full and satisfying breakfeast. A great Austrian restaurant (quality and price) at walking distance, approx 150 meters, from the hotel, ask at the reception for "Restaurant Meisler". Absolutely no need to travel further for dinner. Next time in Vienna we will certainly stay again at the LUCIA.

Kept telling my kids not to expect N.American style hotel for this price. We had one of the suites in the back of the hotel and were pleasantly surprised with the room size and cleanliness. Hotel Front Desk helped with our introduction to Vienna. Best to take the Metro Downtown (4 or 5 stops) for shopping and restaurants. Recommend taking one of the bus tours to orient yourself to the city. (Can be booked at the front desk!) Free e-mail service in lobby was helpful.

Great hotel at a great price. You may think that this hotel is a little too far away from the centre of the city, but the public transportation-system in Vienna is excellent and you are in the city centre in five minutes. Overall, a great place to stay indeed.

IL soggiorno è stato corrispondente alle aspettative. Personale cordiale e competente, sempre disponibile a fornire informazioni.
