Hotel Korotan - Vienna

A great, laid-back but perfectly adequate accommodation just a stone's throw from the old centre of Vienna. It was a lot more central than I thought. The rooms were obviously student hostel-type rooms, even with en suite, so there's not a lot of room, but if you want to save your money for Vienna rather than a swanky hotel, then this is absolutely fine. I would definitely stay there again.

We did not expect such a nice room nor the breakfast buffet nor free internet. We also liked the location and restaurants in the area.

The hotel is situated close enough to the Rathaus, 15 minutes walk or 7 minutes by tram. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spartan, but spacious. The breakfast is good and various. If you are looking for a place to stay for visiting the city, the location is excellent. If you are looking for a hotel where to enjoy the accommodation conditions maybe you should look for a luxury pension or hotel.

The hotel does not rate too high in terms of character, as the interiors are more like a student dorm, but in terms of cleanliness and convenience, this is the place to go. The tram 2 line I think, is just a couple of blocks down the road, and this line takes you to all the sights in the vienna center, it's practically akin to the hop on hop off buses, it's that convenient. Breakfast was more than packed croissants, and had an above average selection of food. The only thing to improve on though is the presence of a fluent english speaker at the desk, and of course, wireless internet in the rooms. Overall, it's still a good deal, as the prices of hotel in Vienna are a bit prohibitive.

I stayed here for 2 nights and it was pretty noisy, which is really my only complaint. I'm a deep sleeper, so it didn't bother me too much. The location was pretty good with lots of stores and restaurants nearby and only a short tram ride to town. It is also a safe area. The breakfast was decent and the staff helpful. I would stay here again.

The Hotel is in a fantastic location very central to most of the tourist attractions. The rooms were clean and spacious, its an amazing deal for the price you pay and fantastic welcoming and helpful staff at reception. Thank you for a superb stay at Korotan Hotel ;) Definitely a recommended place to stay.

I am very happy with my stay at Korotan. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The location was excellent. Room was clean, pleasant and of good size. I would certainly return to Korotan if I am in Vienna again.

Tramway, tubes and buses are near. People are very nice.

When I first time cam to the room I founded a female underwear in the bathroom. Another room was better but still not very clean.

Just for holidays - first time visiting Vienna. The hotel is placed close enough to the inner city and - some good museums - and if you are lazy, you can go eat italian right across the street. :o) Nice and forthcoming employees, kind and engaged help, when needed - and - always a smile on their lips! I don´t even get paid to say that!

Korotan is an incredibly solid budget hotel. It isn't the most luxurious--or even comfortable (because of the noise across the street at night, heat in room, and tiny bathroom)--but is wonderfully budgeted: you certainly get what you pay for, or even more, considering the wonderful breakfast spread. Highly recommended for the traveler on a very tight budget. I stayed for 8 nights, and had a great time in Vienna.

VERY good and helpful staff. Thanks a lot!!! At the same time horrible conditions: thin walls and no isolation at all. I've heard each step, how gests opened and closed evevator door and door in their room, moreover I've herad what my neighbors talk about!!!!

This was my first stay at korotan and i stayed two nights in a single room apartment. the room itself was not so noisy but there were street works going on waking me up at 6:30 a.m. also the room was really simple regarding the equipment. all was in order, but the room was not really comfortable. it felt empty and dead. the personnel was friendly and helpful however and free internet access was a nice plus. a highlight was also the breakfast buffet, which was really good. advice: don't take a room at the top floor conclusion: i would stay there again, since the location is convenient, and the price is OK but i am open for alternatives that feel more comfortable.

Very friendly functional hotel for a business stay. Good location, excellent breakfast, and wired internet for free.

Relationship between price/quality is acceptable. My room was not so that big but in any case enough.Bathroom too small and I did not like the curtain around the shower instead of rigid and/or sliding doors,curtain gluing around me at each movement. Breakfast acceptable.Better have something more hot than just wurstels.Something like scrabled eggs would be perfect. In general acceptable but could be better just moving few steps forward.

+ Quiet, clean rooms, good location, close to the centre, helpful staff. - The sinkhole was on the highest point of the bathroom, so the floor was always wet, very cold dining room in the morning.

The rooms was situated near the lift -> so it was quite loudly because you can hear the lift go up and down. As the room was also next to another appartement, I could listen the whole night to someones cello training (even if I like it, but listen to someone playing/training is quite anyoing)

The hotel was clean and quiet. Staff were very helpful all the time. Rooms are clean and big enough. It took 15-20 minutes to get to the city center by walking. Public transportation is easy too. You can prefer this hotel for price/performance value.

The position of the hotel is very good: quiet but yet not far from vienna's center. Apart from the small lack of qietness of the room, it is ideal for a short holiday stay as we had (4 nights).

I stayed in a single room, it was sober but clean. Probably the hotel is also (or used to be) a university dorm, but a good quality one. Good continental breakfast, nice personnel.

Good location, close to tram and excellent cocktail/wine bar! Rooms were good but the staff were very unhelpful, every little thing (ie do you have a map of area? What floor is the room on?) seemed like a major hassle!

This is an all round good hotel. The rooms were big and somewhat reminded us of a dorm room. The lobby and breakfast rooms were also nice. It was located on a quiet street and the employees were very helpful. The easiest way to get into the city center is by the U-Bahn which is about a 7 minute walk from the hotel. There were a few nice restaurants and pubs in the area too. Not much in the immediate area for sightseeing, but it was easy enough to get to.

Nice place. very good breakfast. good location. the only thing i would change is no tv set or radio and no soap bar.

The room was clean, but the bathroom far from it. The shower curtain was dirty and in a poor state of quality.

Compared to price excellent hotel. People at hte reception very very forecoming: gave a cooler room on warm day of arrival. Clean, spacious room, good beds. Breakfast: service was very fast with replenishment. Certainly can recommend this hotel.

C'est pas un hotel 3 étoiles mais un 2 etoiles correct en terme de rapport qualité-prix ; pour définir le cadre, c'est une résidence étudiante(douche trop petite)mais assez bien aménagée malgré cela. C'est assez propre, calme et bien situé (Josefstadtstrasse en haut de Laudonstrasse + 10mn de tram pour le centre) et le petit déjeuner laisse le choix. J'ai eu un souci à la réservation mais les réceptionnistes (notamment la femme) sont réactifs. Je recommande le Hummel Cafe en haut de la rue Laudonstrasse.

Unfortunately the shower was small and the curtain kept clinging to our bodies when showering.Subsequently we did not use the curtain so the floor was always wet. The Day clerk was not friendly and acted like she did not want to be asked for Tourist info. The night manager was great, friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent with a great staff. Internet was accessible.

En general estuvimos conformes, aunque no andaba la television y nadie parecio sorprenderse ni intentar arreglarla. volveria a parar en este hotel.

Very bad hotel, rooms are horrible, without aircondition, breakfast horrible, imposible to stay ther. NEVER choose this hotel. it is situated in the center, but conditions will make you hate such a beautifull city Budapest. HORRIBLE

L'adresse figurant dans les pages Webb est inexacte; nous avons cherché longtemps ! Accueil sympathique; on nous a conseillé une bonne brasserie à proximité. La connexion internet est facile , ce qui nous a permis d'utiliser notre portable pour les réservations .Un peu cher pour une famille de 4 mais bon hôtel à proximité du centre historique.

The rooms were nice and pleasant. Very good hotel - I recommend it. They even sent me a shirt that I left in the room all the way back to the US. At no charge! That was very nice. I enjoyed the stay. Rooms are a touch noisy in summer due to lack of Air Conditioning and need for open windows, but overall very pleasant. Thanks very much.

I was in Vienna to meet my girlfriend and we spent 3 nights at Korotan. It's a modern structure with spaciouss rooms and all the service you need. Other customer were young families and couples. The city centre is easy to reach and you can find good restaurants also around the hotel. I would recommend the hotel to everyone who is looking for a comfortable accomodation more than a typical/"historical" experience

Its a very nice location. I recomand it to all want a pleasent stay in Viena.

The hotel is located in a good position to visit the town, but when we arrived (in the afternoon) the bathroom had not been cleaned; we told the receptionist, but the day after it was the same. Breakfast was very poor, far from Austrain standards.

L'hotel d'inverno è un convitto studentesco, quindi le stanze hanno grandi armadi e cassettoni sotto il letto, scrivanie e mensole. Non c'è aria condizionata e l'areatore del bagno ha un timer un po' rotto; non cambiano i lenzuoli se non su richiesta (!) e come pulizia spazzano per terra e basta. Ottime le stanze d'angolo, con due finestre. Presenza di cucinotto comune per la clientela. Ottime e abbondantissime colazioni. Silenziosissimo.

I have some problems with staff, my kid was sick and he throw up twice, but I didn't get any help from the staff, no question about the condition of my kid just "tip" that I should give some extra money to the cleaning lady because she has some extra work.

Très bon hôtel, il faut parler allemand pour être bien renseigné! une hôtesse parle anglais et renseigne bien;emplacement de l'hôtel intéressant:le centre ville à 15' à pied; petit déjeuner excellent; chambre très spacieuse et très propre, calme.

The Korotan met my expectations and more and the Venere website helped me find it easily and simply.

No welcome, staff unfrendly and no good bye or thank you . The reception was closed during lunch hours and we could not check out , we had to wait for almost one hour.

It was not too easy locating the hotel from the metro station but eventually we did and on getting used to it, we find that though the hotel is not within the city center itself, the transport system around it is efficient enough to make travel for tourists easy.

A very small hotel run to a large extent by students I think. Very courteous. Clean but a bit on the Spartan side. Located very close to the centre of Vienna. Some noise in the early evening from a small car park and the students having a good time. Brakfast adequate. Good value for money and nice to think that your money is going to a worthwhile cause.
