The hotel is located in the historical centre of Wien, very close to the Sthephan Dom. However, you can leave your car in the reserved parking, just round the corner! Rooms are quite clean and comfortable, and service is excellent (the staff is very kind and disposable). Furthermore, Wi-Fi is free in all areas of the hotel. Very suggested!!!!

Apparently, some touch ups were recently made so the hallway and room had an unbearable smell of paint or polish.

The hotel needs a serious update. The room (201) was without any charm and the access area looked very tired. No reading light, no hairdryer, no heating in bathroom, no shampoo. I did not like it at all, apart from the good location

The Hotel is Ideally situated, lots to see & visit within walking distance. It is surrounded by bars & restaurants & used by people of all ages on business & leisure .The staff are friendly, helpful & most competent.Everything is spotlessly clean & it is warm & comfortable. The buffet breakfast has plenty of choice & is substantial. The room we occupied on the third floor bore no relation to anything shown on the web site,& although very clean & warm it was small & could certainly benefit from refurbishment & being updated. Overall for a short break we very much enjoyed our stay & would certainly visit this hotel again.

The hotel is very centrally located, clean and convenient. Yet, it needs a serious refurbishment - which was continuing during my stay. It may be more recommendable after the refurbishment.

Excellent hotel. Spacious and clean room, good breakfast, excellent location and very friendly staff. Only remark, there is a restaurant next to the hotel and we had a front room, so there was a loud noise coming from people at the restaurant, until around midnight. Didn't bother us, but if someone wants to go to bed earlier, it could be a problem.

This is a great place for a short stay in Vienna. It's just a short walk from Stephansplatz and the main shopping streets but is in a very quiet location, with plenty of restaurants within easy reach. It's also easy to get to from the train station via the excellent tram & metro system. Our room was clean, spacious, cool and quiet (facing onto an internal airwell), and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were very good. Recommended.

A group of seven women all of whom loved the hotel, the location, the convenience to the centre. We were in the dependency hotel of the Monaco and Grand. There was only a tiny lobby but feel it would be churlish to criticise and mark the hotel lower on that one point.

Perfect hotel for a short stay in the heart of Vienna. Only a few minutes walk to the main city sights and also to Underground and tram services. Excellent value for money. Clean and efficient with good continental breakfast. Plenty of shops and restaurants close by for getting lunch or dinner and wonderful clothes etc shops all around. Recommended.

Great location, but very noisy. We stayed on the 4th floor facing the street, which looked like it should have been quiet. However, noise from a cafe on the street made sleeping difficult and deliveries/construction in the morning woke us up quite early. The rooms have no air conditioning so the windows must be kept open. The staff were very charming, though, and the breakfast was good. The location was definitely the best part (close to the centre of town and also to the tram and airport transportation). Worth it if it isn't too warm out and you can get a non-street-facing room.

Good value .... Clean, quiet, amenities as advertised, and a good price for an excellent location only about 2 blocks from St. Stephen's. Only drawback is that the street is very small and a little difficult to find, but we had a taxi to get us there, so it wasn't really an issue. I'd definitely recommend it, and stay there again if I ever get back to Vienna.

There is construction going on in front of the hotel (Feb. 08), which starts early in the morning and runs late into the evening, making front rooms very noisy. They are already noisy, however, as the double-glazing does not block sound from the street. I was on the 4th floor and still could hear conversations on the street outside. Walls inside are also very thin; you can hear your neighbors sneeze.

The location was excellent - very close to the Cathedral and a short distance from the Underground transport system. The hotel is quiet generally but, during our visit, the noise levels from 0730hrs were very high due to major building renovations taking place directly opposite. This is likely to continue for many weeks if not months. There are many good value restaurants nearby for evening meals and several excellent cafes for morning/afternoon coffee and torte.

The location of this hotel, situated in one of the oldest parts of the city, was excellent. There is a self guided walking tour (in Frommers) that includes walking right past the hotel. All major sights were easily within walking distance and only a few minutes walk to the U-Bahn and Strassen Bahn. All the staff were very friendly and eager to help with places to go and good restaurants. If one is seeking to enjoy more of the local flavor, Hotel Kartnerhof is the place to stay. Because the Hotel was booked we only got to stay one night and spent the rest of our time at the Hilton. The rooms are on the small size, but very livable. Free wireless connection is definitely a plus. Although the Hilton was nice, we missed the personal touch of the Hotel Kartnerhoff. Plus with the Hilton we had to pay for internet connection. We will most definitely stay at the Hotel Kartnerhoff again.

The hotel is well located. The rooms are small and badly laid out and the furniture is sparse and very old. The beds (which were separated, one on one wall and the other away on another wall) were small and uncomfortable. The bathroom was small but it was good enough. Although very old the hotel is kept clean. The breakfast was very good with a very good choice of breads (buns). All in all, I would rate my stay at 6, except for the breakfast which I rate at 9.

The hotel is located in the heart of the old section. It is close to all the inner city sights. The staff was most helpful, both the daystaff and the night staff. The breakfast was very substantial and plentiful. My room was Medium to small but fully equiped. There is a restaraunt out front which could be noisy until about 10:00. Anything we needed or wanted to see was accomodated by the desk staff. We were very pleased with our stay.

A nice hotel in an excellent location - almost everything you would want to see is within walking distance. And for those that aren't, the u-Bahn isn't far away. The restaurant next door was OK, and there's a good place for WienerSchnitzel not far away either - Figlmuller. We stayed for 3 nights in the week before Christmas. If you're in Vienna at this time of year you should go to the Christmas markets at the Rathaus and Schonnbrun Palace.

The Kartnerhof was very difficult to find as it is on a very small street that is not on most maps. The hotel is dated, but clean and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast was satisfactory, but not quite as good as most we experienced in Austria or Germany. The location, once found, was very convenient to everything in Vienna including the main shopping and dining areas and the subway was very close as well.

Very fine large rooms, old styled. Very nice the old elevator. Our room, first floor, faced in an inner court, so it was rather dark. Ask for upper rooms, fourth or fifth floor. Very good breakfast, sweet and salted too. Employees very kind and competent. In the heart of Vienna, very near to underground. Good restaurants all around, good prices.

My friend and I spent an excellent 4 nights in this hotel. It was perfectly situated in the centre of Vienna, close to St Stephen's Cathedral. Our rooms were well furnished and very clean and the staff were extremely helpful. We spent 2 nights in this hotel with my wife for our first long weekend in Vienna. Absolutely quiet, in the center of Vienna ! Near all "must see" areas. Good breakfast with good coffee and good service. Spacious room, nice lift of the sixties. Excellent stay.

Average 3-star hotel in Vienna. A bit off the beaten path (around a corner and down a lane), but generally close to major sites. It was my 3rd choice, so I wasn't expecting much. It didn't provide more than the basics. The breakfast was decent, although I still don't understand why these little European hotels think people want "fresh meats" at breakfast.

Almost good! Especially, location is near Shweden Plats where there is the bus stop for the airport.
