Position of the zone in the city
Vienna is a city with a rich history and dynamic present, a major cultural metropolis and a melting pot of cultures between east and west. Elegance and good taste, history and tradition on the one hand, and hand business affairs on the other.
The Hotel Palace is close to the city center, yet in a quiet neighborhood, about 1,5 km from the gothic cathedral Stephansdom. Subway and bus connections are close by, as well as the Naschmarkt and the Theater an der Wien.

I stayed 4 nights at Falkensteiner Hotel Palace (Tuesday - Staurday). The room was clean and spacious, the breakfast excellent and the employees friendly. I was offered good help to order tickets for cultural events by the receptionist. The reception was at times understaffed, which sometimes resulted in long waiting time for service. The public area was a bit "boring". Some nice pubs and outdoor cafe's in the surrounding. I paid 33Euro for a taxi from the airport to the hotel. Was offered to be picked up by the same driver for going back to the airport and paid 28Euro. 5 minutes to walk to the underground. Do not attemt to do this with heavy suitcases. Overall good impression of the hotel. Nice and quit area with access to all of Vienna by underground. You reach center of Vienna and the Schönbrunn castle by underground from the hotel witout changing line. 20 minutes to walk to city center.

The front desk was friendly. Rooms appeared to be old, and the bed were to soft. But, not too bad for what it is in a city like Vienna. (Better wear a tie for breakfast, otherwise you feel underdressed... : )
