Our stay at Donauwalzer was a good one. At our room however, the refrigerator was not functioning. Our visit was Business oriented, however, time was taken to have some fun, and Donauwalzer was in close proximity to our point of interest. The location of the hotel from shopping areas was ideal, walking distance. For visitors who speak English, ALL staff should have a fair command of the English language.

To start with the mentioned "Shuttle Service" does not exist from or to the train station or the Airport. We requested this service From Budapest and were told to take the U-Bahn, they failed to mention that pick pockets are a problem nor which stop to exit the U-Bahn and which direction you have to go inorder to find this hotel, by foot, from the station. The room itself was spacious the bed was a bit spartan and the bathroom was primitive. The breakfast was adequate however was spoiled by the fact that smoking was allowed in the eating area. The staff was polite however were challenged to speak english or French (night staff ) My husband hasn't spoken German in 35 years, when he served in Europe and was expected to do so inorder to obtain our key and to request items from the front desk on two occasions. The noise was at an unacceptable level ,sleep impossible before 3 AM . Regarding touring information the only item provided was a map (in German) of Vienna, no info regarding public transportation (Vienna Pass ),sites of interest or restaurants was provided. The internet access was a pay as you go which at most times was unplugged.

For the price of the room it was extremely small, the television did not work and was not replaced after several complaints, and the room was very scruffy and dirty. The lifts were often faulty and when there was a complete power cut on my floor of the hotel for a whole day, the staff offered no help to guest whatsoever. I was amazed at the lack of services provided by the hotel also, ie. they do not have a single iron/ironing board in the entire hotel! Overall, not good value for money.

you are right in these "hotel" if you like loud noise from your neighbour-rooms and during the night from "in-house-partys" and if you dont worry about urine-smell in your bathroom.

The room ws rather small and we didn't have any soap until the second daay. The TV did not work the three days we were there, The person on the desk said a service man was going to be there the next day, but no one showed up. The hotel is close enough to the Metro and ther is no need to walk close by the two or three adult movie places in the area. Highway noise was intense with the windows open and it was very warm in the room so we had to have them open at night. I would probably not stay there again unlessi I could get a room far removed from the main road. Breakfast was just OK compared to some other similar priced hotels in Austria and Hungary. there are cheaper places offering a better service. The hotel seems it's falling apart, very old fashioned, needs some clean up and paint. The room was spacious but the carpet was ruined, the bathroom grim and dark. Road close to the hotel is busy and the room very noise. Not worth the money.

The rooms that face the 2 streets are quite noisy for adults to be in. We had to move to a back room as the noice from the street was too much for us. Also the dining room area does not have a non smoking area, so it was quite uncomfortable for us to dine there.

We were very disappointed at first as the room we were allocated was not a double classic as shown in the photograph. It was extremely small,so small in fact that the beds were 2 singles arranged end to end asthere was no other way in which they would fit. My husband's bed was coming apart and my bed head was wedged up against a radiator. We waited until our friends Mr & Mrs Richards arrived the next day. The room allocated to them was also way below the atandard of a double classic as advertised on your web-site. We complained to the staff and were told that the hotel was fully booked. we were still not satisfied with the reply and said that we had not been given the rooms to the standard that we had booked. The next day we complained again to the Front of House Manager. We said that we would complain to you at Venere and also to the Vienna Tourist Board and to the Austrian tourist board. Suddenly ha managed to find us 2 double classic rooms, claiming that it had all been a mistake on the part of the colleague who had booked us in. Our new rooms were excellent-it felt as if we were in another hotel. I hope that this never happens to any other of your clients

The quality of the hotel was superb, however, the location is in a semi-seedy area of Vienna, i.e., adjacent to the Red Light District.

The hotel is in a very bad neighborhood but there is a tram stop nearby. The directions need to be more precise in order to find the hotel if you take the bus or metro. We asked 3 people how to get to the hotel but they were not familiar with the name of the street (even the bus driver!). The room was large by European standards but very shabby. The double bed was 2 single mattresses pushed together which would have been ok, but they were both very worn and sagging in the middle thus producing an uncomfortable edge in the middle of the bed. The bathroom was small with a tiny shower only. The water would change temperature and would either scald or freeze you. There was no hot water at 05:00. The hotel arranged a private taxi for us to the airport - cost 32 euros (seemed reasonable).

The location of the hotel, near the tram and the city center, etc., was fine. The street outside our window had a lot of traffic noise---I used earplugs so it was OK, but it bothered my friend. Also, checking out was a problem. We had to wait and the clerk didn't know how to split the bill between cash and credit, so even though we withdrew extra cash to help pay, we ended up having to charge the whole thing! Overall, however, we were very pleased with the facility and the service. The staff was friendly and courteous and we had a wonderful time in Vienna! Thank you, Hotel Donauwalzer!
