Hotel Congress - Vienna

This is an extremely good location for business travellers as it is right outside Suedtiroler Platz, which is 10min from Wien Meidling on the S-Bahn. For tourists who want somewhere central and convenient, even though the view from the window isn't great, it is also an excellent choice. (And who spends much time in the hotel room anyway?) The rooms are nice and the staff are always helpful and friendly. I first went there 10 yrs ago and have been back several times since. Only thing I would say: they need to do a few simple things such as repairing/replacing missing door-numbers, otherwise the place will start to look run down.

Excellent reception staff and an extremely clean and well presented breakfast bar, looked after by a hard working waitress. Free water with healing stones for guests in the reception. Far from the sights, but 2 minutes to the underground which is efficient and easy to use.

A nice hotel, 5 minutes walk from the bus and railway station (we got by bus from the airport to the station in 20 minutes). 5 minutes walk to the nearest subway station and the same to the tram stop - very convenient. The hotel is just outside the city center, so it is not that expensive, but, at the same time, it is located at an easy distance from the center. One can take a tram or go by subway to get to the main attractions. One can also get to Belvedere palace and park by foot (by the way, there is a very nice restaurant with brewery near one of Belvedere gates). Breakfast is quite OK, though not very variable, coffee is good. We had to wait quite a while at the reception before we could check in - the receptionist was talking over the phone and paid no attention to us, and it was a bit discouraging welcome. The room was clean and spacious. We didn't mention at first, but the room faced a kind of "yard" with the area of 1,5x1,5 m, so there wasn't much light in the room, and it always seemed that it is cloudy outdoors, even on a bright sunny day. But we were sightseeing all day long, so it didn't really matter. Wifi in the room was free and the connection was good. Overall, a very good hotel with perfect price-quality balance.

Receptionist very accomodating and warm. The room is spacious enough, but since there is no aircon i have to open a portion of the window. It is facing a main road which is noisy so I had a hard time sleeping. That is the only problem I encountered. Otherwise, it is generally good given the price.

The stuff is rude, unfriendly at all. Internet didn't work, and nobody solved the problem. The outside window in the room was imposssible to close, therephore rush and cold was simply unbeilivable. Thanks God, we stayed there one night only...

I am a mature-age Australian, an experienced traveller. I emailed hotel while in Rome to advise I would be late arriving by train at Vienna Sudbahnhof. Hotel responded immediately and upon my arrival at midnight I was expected and welcomed. Excellent breakfast choice. Rooms are warm and clean. Metro underground train 100 metres away at Sudtirolerplatz and 5 minutes walk to Vienna Sudbahnhof and trams. I recommend Congress Hotel to any reasonable person or tired traveller who is able to expect differences outside their own front door or their familiar city.

We arrived at 7 a.m. expecting that we might just be able to leave our suitcases in the hotel storage place. But our room was available to us already at that early time. Very kind!

We had two large rooms and wonderful breakfast. I really had a good time during my stay in this hotel.

The hotel is old but in regular conditions, it needs some improvements. The people in the registration desk of the hotel are rude, so you don´t feel confortable for asking questions about the city.

The hotel was alright, but situated in busy road.

The hotel is nearby the metro st. which is good. But rooms are very noisy!! the cars keep running, horrible if you want to sleep!!

The room was near a big road with a lot of noise all over the night.
