Pension Aviano - My Secret Home - Vienna

The room is very clean with quality internet access. Breakfast good. No other public areas. Staff friendly. Excelent location. True photos and other informations in the hotel website, but the hotel is located in 3rd and 4th floor (with lift). There is only a small door at the street. No air conditionig in my room - can be a problem in summer because the windows are to the Karntner Str which can be noise with opened windows. I recommend the hotel.

I enjoyed the stay there. The location made it easy to walk to the major sights of Vienna, not to mention some important sights right outside the door. Additionally, the staff were very helpful with tourist information and sundry items such as selling stamps and arranging transport to the airport. The breakfast buffet was great.

This hotel was in the heart of the city at an affordable rate. The staff was exceptionally accommodating when our travel plans changed. We'll definitely be staying at Pension Aviano: My Secret Home again when we return to Vienna. I didn't realize they had on-site wifi, but it was a decent speed and it was icing on the cake!

Staff were very helpful even before we arrived. They offered advice on restaurants as I wanted something special for our anniversary. When we arrived they had put a bottle of bubbly on ice in our room. A wonderful and very special touch. The staff area ll friendly and knowledgable. The hotel is probably due a bit of a make-over but is very quaint. Position is absolutely brilliant. There is a lift which is very useful as reception is on the 6th floor. Rooms would be very hot in the summer without airconditioning I think. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Our first visit to Vienna - and our accommodation at Pension Aviano added hugely to our enjoyment of the city. We were given a wonderfully grand, romantic and huge corner room with views in 3 directions. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and breakfast - on the balcony! was good quality. It's in a fantastic central location - our only issue was finding the Pension and accessing it by car, not easy with the one-way and pedestrianised streets surrounding it. Ask for very precise directions if driving! Otherwise top marks all round.

Pension Aviano is ideally located within walking distances to most attractions and subway stations. The room is huge and is nicely decorated. The breakfast area is very cosy and the spread is tasty. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and spoke very good English.

The hotel staff is great. The location is fantastic. The rooms are spacious. The bathroom is tiny and the vent doesn't work so well. The public areas are not so comfortable. Thanks!

Although the furnishings and decor were a little tired, the location and value for money made up for it, and the breakfast was excellent.

Excellent location, close to most tourist attractions. Staff very friendly and helpful, able to provide very useful information about transport and activities. Our room is a large double room. Very very spacious. Very good room facilities. But noise and heat during summer time are definitely problems. Noise could be adequately screened off with the double-pane windows. But we cannot close windows because of the hot weather. Many flying insects at night. Noises from people in the street are really disturbing, especially during weekends. They could chat and scream till sunrise!

Strange location, situated on top level of former apartment building which now houses offices. good central, safe, location within walking distance off most tourist attractions. this is guest house accomodation, basic and clean and ok value for money. breakfast area had open air balcony which was great for relaxing after all the sightseeing.

Convenient arrangement, spacious and cosy numbers. The affable personnel. Tasty and various breakfast. I shall recommend the friends.

Perfect location midway between St. Stephen's and the Opera House which makes public transportation very accessible.

The room was not quite as nice as expected. but the girl at the desk was exceptionally helpful. the area was pretty good . the downfall was the very noisy construction.

I travelled with my wife, Pension was very clean and located near most important monuments and attractions of the citycenter.

Our stay at Pension Aviano was great. Would fully recommend it. Unfortunately there were noisy building works going on during our stay, but the hotel has pre-advised us of this. Very fair. We got a much more competitive price by booking online in advance and choosing a non-refundable tariff.

I have traveled around Europe a lot and stayed to a variety of hotels. Especially in Vienna, I have been 5 times in the past 2 years. Hotel Aviano has been the BEST hotel I could even ask for. My boyfriend and myself have been amazed of its location: it's literally 2 minutes walking from Stephansdom, the heart of Vienna. Its amazing decor, the rooms, how friendly people have been, the fact that it is in a stunning building, everything has been just perfect. I STRONGLY recommend it. As for us... next year we are staying there again!

Close to everything turistic you want to see hofbuirg, museums, cathedral ... 10 meters from kartner st 5 minutes form hofburg new clean rooms, a little bit small room but confortable the rooms facing th court a so silent even if the hotel is right next one of the busiest pedestrians streets of the historical center

The hotel is very well located, in walking distance to many places of interest. The staff is very kind and helpful. The room was huge, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious! The only negative thing was that the hotel is in the 3rd /4th floor of an old building and the entrance is not so nice… Anyway, I would recommend this hotel to my friends!

It got a little warm in the room, and nearby construction woke us up early each morning, but other than that it was a great place to stay.

Wonderful place. My room was huge and very pretty. The staff are very friendly and professional. There is construction going on so it's a bit loud and I definitely could hear Saturday night revelers late into the night, but despite that the location was great.

It had a fan and that was a great help, since it was hot in Vienna. Also, the bed was good. Excellent hotel.

Excellent hotel and staff. Following a mishap I had in the bathroom, the staff proved themselves to be quick and efficient in rectifying the problem. Good standard of English meant that when we asked many questions regarding things to see and places to go, we got good suggestions and advice. One suggestion: place a sign outside the main entrance on the ground floor to indicate that guests should enter the building and take the lift to the relevant floor. It took my wife and a few minutes to confirm that the side door was, in fact, the main and only door. Suggest that there should be No Smoking on balcony during breakfast hours. We liked to eat outside but it was spoilt by the smell of cigarette smoke.

This hotel is in an unbelievable location, just up the road from Stephansdom, it is more expensive because of it but for me it was well worth it. Breakfast was very good. The room was surprisingly large. The only issue was that there is no air-conditioning which was ok for us as it wasn't too hot in May but with the windows open the street noise is more noticable.

Excellent location and wonderful breakfast! Our courtside room was pretty quiet, but the door to the room did not isolate sound very well.

Staff members were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was well beyond the usual continental, with the usual pastries, fruit, yogurt and juices, plus a choice of cereals, scrambled eggs, sausage, sliced meats and cheeses. Front desk provided excellent concerige service.

Hotel in excellent city situation. But it is only in the 2 floors of the building.

Good value and a touch of Viennese style. A great location, very convenient to the city centre, main attractions and transport. Although we booked only four nights we wanted to stay for an extra night and they accommodated us without having to change rooms. The multilingual staff were very helpful with travel and sightseeing information. We would definitely recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Great Location, great staff and a great city. We went on our honeymoon and had only 3 days in Vienna. The location itself makes hotel a 10. The staff was pleasant and helpful. No complaints, I would recommend this for anyone going that has limited time and wants to be in the middle of most of the sights.

The location of this hotel is excellent- just on the way! In the midle of everything! There was so quiet-when I went to a sleep, then there were no noise at all! Staff was very helpful and friendly! There was a lovely small breakfastroom and a lovely lady who served cofee! And I liked those forecast folders on the tabel! No homesickness in this hotel-it feels like home!

It's called "My Secret Home" and that is exactly what it is. We missed it at first because the sign is just a plaque on the wall. The entrance is communal but once you get into the very modern little lift you are in a different world. The staff on reception were very friendly & efficient with perfect english. Our room was very grand with chandeliers, beautiful decor and a table and armchairs. There was also a little kitchenette if you wnat to prepare a snack. Breakfast was excellent with many choices. It's in a pedestrian precinct so the only noise is of the people in the street which only adds to the atmosphere. a super hotel at a fair price. Highly recommended but small lift might make it difficult with young children.

The Aviano B&B was an amazing surprise to us. We chose the B&B off the internet, and we felt like we hit the jackpot! The rooms are on the top floors of an old building. At first, when we viewed the outside, we were definitely hesitant, but the small elevator whisked us to the reservation desk at the top. The desk clerk immediately handed me the key (without us registering first) so we could unload our luggage. What a shock when we entered the room! It was absolutely beautifully decorated and huge. We had a "junior suite" which included a small kitchen, eating area, sofa and chairs, and a large bedroom area and nice bathroom. The only complaint we might add would be the noise at night. If you opened your window, you could hear the street noises of people walking, talking, enjoying Vienna, but this was not a problem for us. The building is located in a "pedestrian only" area, so there was no vehicle noise! The location was superb! We were able to walk everywhere. For the summer castle located outside Vienna, the subway was only two blocks away...also the bus service. The staff was quite helpful. We arrived around 4:00 P.M., and the staff obtained tickets for us to attend a concert that very night! I see why they call this B&B a secret home...it was like finding a secret hideaway in the middle of Vienna! We loved it!

The room was spacious, but over a very noisy street. Since there was no air conditioning the windows needed to be open at night for cooling. Vienna is expensive, so the price/value ratio for the room was not nearly as good as other cities we visited. The staff was welcoming upon our arrival, but when asked to help us with some reservation phone calls made it clear that they were too busy to assist us, and did not offer us any tourism literature to help us make some of the choices they insisted we make before they would help us. So we ended up spending a day trying to locate material that would allow us to make our own reservations.

We stayed at the Pension Aviano during the time when the lift was being repaired (hence the good rather than excellent rating for our stay). Nevertheless, the climb up 7 flights of stairs was worth the savings in price. The service, room, view from our room, and location of the pension were outstanding.

It was very pleasant to stay in Aviano. The best thing definitely is location - the very heart of stunningly beautiful Vienna. All other things are also great and quite enough to feel oneself happy in the city. The only point is air-conditioning. It would be reasonable to add it to the facilities.
