A little out of town, but that's why I chose it. 200m walk up to the train station and trains never more than 15 minutes apart and 20 minutes to city. Train line itself has quite a number of tourist spots accessed from the stops..

Excellent place! Location is perfect, only 2 minutes walk and you are at the Metro station which will get you to the city center and other attractions. Couldn't be better! Rooms are clean, silent, with AC (not very usual in Europe … and if you are coming during summer this is a must …). Breakfast couldn’t be better. In one word: PERFECT!

This my second stay at this hotel and absolutely will come back here again ! I have stayed at lots of middle class hotels in Vienna. They are quite expensive but I have never met really good one. And finally I found it! I like everything in this hotel. Clealiness, staffs, rooms, place, atmosphere... I hope I can come back there soon again !

My family and I stayed 1 night at the hotel and we were very satisfied. It was no problem being there with our baby (13 months), and in the morning, when going to the breakfast area, we also found a table already prepared for all of us (including a chair for our son). Great!!!

I was in this hotel for the first time. Hotel is on the outskirts of town, but close to public transport (metro). Because of the proximity to the train station and high traffic, at night is noisy when the window is open, especially first night. There are only 15 parking places in the courtyard, but there are places in street nearby. I can recommend this hotel.

I travel to Vienna frequently and find this hotel to be great for the price. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the location is super convenient (directly across from the train/U4 subway station), and the continental breakfast buffet is excellent. My only complaint is that the hotel parking lot is far too small to accommodate all the hotel guests. I was stuck trying to find parking on the street, which was very difficult. The train station has a park + ride lot, but unlike the station itself, that lot is definitely not easy to access on foot from the hotel.

The hotel is located next to a railroad station, so they installed double windows and the trains that are passing within 50 meters of your windows (I was in a room facing the station) cant' be heard inside! I want ot do the same here in my Canadian house now :) Rooms are not very big but very clean and well maintained. STAFF IS AMAZING, especially the breakfast team. They made us feel welcome as nowhere else. I was late for a breakfast one day by 20 minutes and they still cooked eggs specifically for me! All the staff is very friendly. Location is next to the subway line U4 terminal station and with Vienna's excellent metro system you are in the downtown in 20 minutes. There is a supermarket within 5 minutes walk from the hotel, so you can buy everything at the right price if you want. Overall we feel this is the best price/quality hotel we've been in Europe. If you need luxury look someplace else, but if you need inexpensive but quiet, clean, pleasant place to stay while visiting Vienna it is hard to do better than Hotel An der Wien.

We stayed in the family room on the first floor with 3 beds, there is a lift for access. The view is of the end of the railway station. As expected with the windows open there is some train noise, but with the windows shut and the aircon on (a requirement in August)this was hardly noticable. The room was very clean and everything was fully working and in good condition. Breakfast was a joy with lots of choice and the staff were very friendly and efficient. There is no bar but there are 3 gasthauser /pubs within a 5 to 10 min walking distance, all with beergardens. There are also smaller cafes serving food in the vicinity. The train and tubestation as well as the tram and bus connections into the centre of Vienna and Schonbrunn are very local and the service excellent. For those with a car, acess from the western Motorway is fairly easy but care is needed as not to miss the right turning straight after the railway bridge. There is free carparking in the yard for about 15 cars, when full there is further parking on the road. The yard is locked at midnight. Check in and check out was totally painless and our 5 nights at the hotel seemed just not long enough.

Albergo di categoria superiore a quella ufficiale. Pulizia molto curata, colazione ottima.

It was wonderful to find that there are still hotels like Hotel An der Wien in Vienna available in Europe. The owners and staff here care about their guests, know their business and really believe in what they are setting out to do.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and are happy to recommend that others do so as well.

We spent two nights in the An der Wien hotel. We were five adults in three rooms (two double rooms and one single room 33, 44, 45). Excellent hotel, with one single remark: The room number 44 is cigarette smoke smelling. Excellent free interior parking place. Very good breakfast. The subway station 100 meters near hotel.

We pay 98 euros for our family with two little kids. In fact, I would give 8.5 for overall stay and quality vs. price. It suite our need for parking. The hotel provide free parking in a secure space. We like the hotel except that the room is very small. There is no more space after they put a baby crib an a little extra bed in the room. We end up using that extra bed to lay our lugguages on. I would expect a hotel in such a suburban area would have more space. It takes about 30-45 mins to get to downtown Vienna from the hotel. The hotel has a feeling of real european style rather than modern. It is old but quite well maintained. The breakfast is okay. We like sausages and hams in europe. They are not nearly as salty as those in the US. Hotel is very close to the train station. Our room was right in front of the elevator but we have no problem about the noise or at least nobody makes loud noise that night as we were there in mid sept. We would stay there again.

We used this as a stopover and it was very convenient for trains. Fortunately our rooms were away from the railway line as it could have been noisy otherwise. Good quality with comfortable and large rooms. Much better value than the executive rooms at our other hotel in Vienna.

Great hotel at great price. Good location although we found it difficult to get there. The room was clean and quite, pretty furnished. Breakfast was excellent. The parking space on the yard is bit too small and don't have enough space for all guests, but we managed to park on the street nearby. We would come back and the hotel is definitely worth recommending.

While outside of the downtown area, it is very easy to navigate the city because the hotel is right next to the subway. Breakfast buffet was outstanding. I suggest that the hotel describe specifically how to walk to the hotel from the subway station (~50 meters away) as it is not clear which train station exit to use.

Clean, basic rooms, relatively quiet, even though really close to subway and train stations. Parking was provided for free. (Note: not recommendig parking under the tall trees as at the time of our visit at least one tree had a bad bug issue and the car was basically sticky from top to bottom by morning! Hotel management offered to pay for a carwash though!) Breakfast is rather basic, but we had no complaints. The personal was really helpful. Very easy to get to to and from the highway. Leaving the car parked at the hotel and taking the subway to downtown Vienna is a really easy and inexpensive way of sightseeing.

Room was very small, we had a room at the back so it was fairly quiet rooms at the front may get noise from train line accross the road. Breakfast was only just passable not much variety for non Europeans. There is a lack of restaraunts etc close by you must be prepared to walk a fair way or eat in central Vienna (20 minutes on train).

The hotel is situated outside the city center, close to Schoenbrunn Palace, but the metro station with direct line to city center is across the street. For those travelling by car, the hotel is very easy to reach, because it is close to the highway. The private parking area which is free of charge is a great plus. We have booked a double room with private bathroom and were very pleased with it. We had a big and confortable double bed and everthing was clean. The breakfast room was elegant and clean and we got a variety of food, which was included in the room price. The staff was always friendly and helpful, so we had a very pleasant stay.

This is a really nice hotel, with a great breakfast!!! The hotel is outside the city centre and is actually about a 20 minute U-Bahn ride from the city centre. I think the web-site may say that it's only a 10-15 minute ride, but really it's at least 20 minutes. The hotel is not far from the U-Bahn station (turn left and it's about a 5 minute or less walk). The U-Bahn system is very easy to navigate so being outside the city centre was no problem. But since the hotel is far from the city centre there really isn't very much around it. There was however, a large supermarket not far that offered nice wines and cheese. There was also an Italian restaurant not far from the hotel, which was really quite good. The owner was nice and spoke English, which was great. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and the rooms were nice. I think this hotel offers excellent value for money and I would stay there again.

We were very pleased with the room. The furniture appeared to be new and in excellent condition. The bathroom was spotless and very attractive. The breakfast room was elegant and the food was outstanding. The hotel is, as other guests have indicated, just a few steps away from the U-Bahn. If you are arriving by train from Innsbruk, you can get off at the Huttledorf stop and save yourself a trip to the West Banhof and back to the hotel via the U-Bahn. Although the hotel is located in a suburb of Vienna, transportation to the center of town was rapid and pleasant. We were told at the desk that there were several restaurants a few blocks from the hotel but we didn't have an opportunity to investigate any of them.

We travelled as a family, two adults and two older kids. We rented two rooms and were quite impressed with the hotel as it was very clean, the rooms were quiet and the staff was very accomodating. While this hotel is away from the center and the neighborhood isn't quaint (there isn't much in the way of shops or restaurants nearby), it is across the street from a major metro/train station so it is very easy to get around. We got a "family" room because we have a 9 year old as well. The room appeared to be a regular room with a cot added. The space was so tight that we had to move a small table into the corner and stack two chairs on top of it. But rooms are generally smaller in Europe, so while we were hoping for bigger it wasn't a huge surprise to find a small room. Free parking was available on the property so we parked and then just left the car for the weekend and only used public transportation. The breakfast was very good, with a variety of food in very sufficient quantities. The front desk staff spoke English and were very helpful on multiple occassions. All in all for the price it was a good choice as long as you don't mind being a metro ride away from shopping, food and tourist attractions.

An excellent hotel, one of the nicest we have stayed in. Touch of elegance, chandeliers in the bedroom. Very comfortable beds, with superb pillows and duvet. Breakfast in very pleasant surroundings was excellent. Drinks served at table with wonderful buffet, including 3 kinds of cakes! Wish I could have eaten more. Out of centre of town but station two minutes walk away with excellent services. Close to Schonbrun, well worth a visit. Only hiccup, we were a little disconcerted, along with another couple, to find hotel locked and in darkness on returning at 1am. But receptionist arrived a little bleary-eyed and let us in when we rang bell. Maybe a low light and a note to ring would allay fears on arriving back? I would recommend this hotel most highly.

The hotel is just a short ride on the underground metro from the main town. It is nice to have a place separated from the city. The transportation system and your directions were perfect. There are two main train stations you may come in on. The included breakfast was great. The Japanese restaurant around the corner they suggested was fantastic. The metro is across the street. When you get off the metro, come out of the station and turn left and walk for about 1/2 block. Great place. Glad my wife and I found it. Aloha

It was a very nice and pleasant hotel and it was situated right in front of the subway (line U4) in 10 minutes to Schönbrunn and in 20 minutes down town(Stephansplatz).

Best breakfast from all hotels we stayed in. We were 5 so we needed two rooms. Both were clean and confortable. The room with 3 was similar to the one with 2 with an extra bed put in, so space was really, really tight. Not exactly close to downtown, but only steps away from the u-bahn so you can easily and quickly go anywhere, 10-15 minutes to downtown. I would definetly stay there again if back to Viena.

Camere accoglienti, servizio eccellente, colazione ottima e abbondante... Io ci tornerò sicuramente e l'ho già consigliato a tutti i miei amici.

I´d recommend this hotel, the rooms were very spacious and clean, and the hotel staff were wonderful. (they even gave us a discount to make up for missing breakfast, as we had to leave early on our last day!) We travelled by public transport to the hotel, and it is only a short walk from Hütteldorf U-Bahn stop. I´d definitely stay here again!

The hotel staff is great, the breakfasts marvelous and the rooms quite adequate. The location was not specified on the web site, other than saying "across the street from the subway", but not specifying the station. I hope that this will be soon be corrected. The hotel is at the end of the U4 at Hutteldorf. Despite this, the cetre is only 15 minutes away the zoo and Schonbrun Gardens are only five minutes by subway. The hotel is not large so the staff get to know folks a bit and gives a homey feel to one's stay. There are few neighborhood restaurants within three blocks and that was nice.

The hotel map isn't brilliant, but it is a fabulous place to stay if you are using public transport as Huttledorf Station is on the underground, but also the S-bahn, allowing easy access to the centre as well as all important sites. The hotel staff were polite and very helpful.

The Hotel was really fantastic! Great breakfast! It was very near the U-bahn station so in 15 minutes we were in the city center with no changes. We had to park our car and there was a free of charge parking. The hotel was very clean...so have a nice stay there!

This hotel was great. Our only complaint was that we forgot to bring the map of the location with us and we had a great deal of difficulty locating the hotel. This hotel is not in central Vienna, but on the outskirts. However, it is across the street from the main subway line and we were in central Vienna in just a few minutes (about 15). When you are travelling by car, a free car park is great and being on the outskirts is fine when it is so easy to get to the central attractions. The breakfast was great, the bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Just remember to print a location map.

The Hotel is 15 min far from the city center by metro (whose station is 2 minutes on foot from the hotel) so its surroundings are not attractive. However our room was very clean and the noise level was surpringly low, considering that the hotel faces a Railway station. Car Parking was free, and the breakfast was quite generous. In our opinion this hotel is a very good choice for staying in Vienna. For those who will arrive by car should notice that Linzerstrasse, indicated in the map available in this site, must be drived for at least 4 Km before finding Bahnhoftsrasse on your left.
