Very nice hotel. Room was very spacious. This hotel had the most beautiful receptionist in the Western world!

The rooms are very small (in ours, there was almost no space between the bed and the wall to walk inside the room!) and ugly (very old furniture, stained lampshade!). It's a huge hotel but they built the most smallest rooms in order to get as many guests as possible. The staff we met was not very friendly, nor felt like saying "hello" or "goodbye". Breakfast is terrible (dry bread, fake orange juice, etc.). Only the location is good, walking distance of downtown Vienna. I don't recommand this hotel at all.

This is probably the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. The room was so small that the two twin bed had no space to walk between them. the wallpaper was disgusting and the side of the bed was covered in grafetti. The bathroom was dank.We were woken by banging at 6.00. On looking out the corridor I discovered thet the rooms in my hallway were being redecorated. this was rediculous. We were staying in the middle of building site, We had told reception the night before that we didn't want to be disturbed in the morning. We were disturbed by housekeepng at 8.30 and 9.00. I answered the door the second time and informed him that we were booking out at 12.00 and not to come back. When we were getting dressed at 9.30, the male hpusekeeper opened the door with a master key and came in. We checked out then after complaining to reception. we just got the brush off and told we had to pay now. The breakfast was totally inedible. Don't stay in this hotel

The hotel should not have three stars, rather one or maximum two.

The rooms were great. I shared a Twin room with a friend, and we were both very saisfied from the cleanliness and the service and the breakfast. The location was good as well. The breakfast was great. The price is really good for the comfort and services that you get in return. Sheets and towels are changed every morning. I will definitely recommend staying in this hotel. Enjoy!

The hotel has a very bad maintenence, during my stay two lift (of three)does not working well and the furniture is damaged. In anycase the rates are ok. If you are sensitive to religious harassment take note that in every room there here is a crucifix on the wall !

I was quite disappointed by the hotel. The best thing is the breakfast which is quite good for a hotel of this type. Otherwise, there was a lot of noise and the hotel is not welcoming at all. My room was really hot and it was old furnished. The hotel is not badly located but I would not recommend.

this place is a college dorm, literally. felt like i was back at school. a bit of a walk from the train station. a little hard to find at first, the streets in vienna crazy. but once i found my bearings, it was real easy to get to the main square, close too. there is even a map on the back of the room card, it helped. for price you can't beat it, if you don't mind dull rooms.

struttura moderna... NEGLI ANNI '60 !!!!! Conclusioni: COSTA POCO ....

Academia is in a good location within easy walking distance to all the major sights of Vienna. Two U-Bahn stops are about 10-minute walk away, but then, the InnerStadt, is only a 20-minute walk . . . why take the train? My husband and I bought a 72-hour pass, and never used it! Oh well. Rooms are very small--excluding the little entryway with bathroom, the living space is ~11x7 at most. Very tight indeed for two people. Not a room to relax and hang out. We had a room facing the front, which was very loud at night. Breakfast was decent and sufficient: unlimited rolls, butter, jam, cheese, meats, coffee/tea, juice. Clientele ran the gamut from families young and old, people from 18 to 60. Front desk was welcoming, competent, and accessible. No cpmplaints. Bottomline: would I stay here again? Probably not. But not because of Academia, but because we're probably too old (35-40), and I think I would spring for the extra $25 for a more comfortable room.

This is a pretty poor hotel. It is rated two stars and I think it is not worth any. My room stank of cigarette, no matter how long I left the window opened. This place is a hall of residence during term time so I guess I was unlucky enough to have a student smoker living there for a year. The cleaniness of the room was at best OK. The decor of the room was poor and when I took a shower, within 30 s or so, my feet were in 10 cm of water. They don't give you shampoo either, just a little bar of soap. I was looking forward to the breakfast, I thought in Austria you will get some nice deli and cheese, but the meat was poor, there was some cereal but don;t expect to have any choice, I doubt very much the bread was bought on the day, the yogurt was left to sit there for hours (they could place the bowl in a bigger bowl with ice in to keep it cool like in other places I have been). As for coffee lovers, don't even think about it, instead head for town, there are some pretty good coffe shops, notably one in Schleifmühlgasse, by the Drei Kronen hotel, you can see the guy is passionate about his coffee. As it is a hall of residence you can imagine the walls are pretty thin so you don't really get piece and quiet. The rooms don't come with an alarm but you don't need one as the cleaners start chatting in the corridor quite early and will wake you up. Oh, and yeah I almost forgot, they want to charge you 1 Euro for 10 minutes on the Internet! PS: Some friends of mine stayed at the Atlas, which is also a hall of residence, it is rated three stars (cheek!), and is apparently as bad as the Academia but with a TV (that doesn;t work in all rooms).

Fitting for the price. Space to swing a cat? No. If only people wouldn't shout at 7am! Mini bath, huge sink. Why? Good and clean otherwise. Views from roof are excellent.

The problem was not the hotel self, but some guests in it were too noisy and sometimes was difficult to get some sleep. The hotel staff was very competent and friendly, but the rooms are not precisely spacious and quiet!

There was not written that facilities are in the room. Phone or email for questions are not present. But after all it was very good!

La condizione della stanza non era delle migliori (inoltre piuttosto piccola per due persone), comunque accettabile. Il tutto compensato però dalla vicinanza al centro di Vienna (1/4 d'ora circa a piedi).

main negative aspects: breakfast quality poor; price a bit too high with respect to the quality of rooms and of the services offered. main positive aspects: close to the city center; very well served by public transports.
