Hotel Plaze e de Russie is perfectly located at the edge of Viareggio making access to Puccini's Torre del Lago easy. Front desk staff was very engaged and the beautiful rooftop restaurant staff were 1st class professional. The solioglia (sole) was so elegant and delicious, I had it 3 times over 7 days. Access to the beach through the discounted Balena fitness club was an added bonus. Highly recommended, and the 3rd floor view over the passagiata to the sea was breathtaking.

Hotel is beautiful. We received complimentary room upgrade. Also loved the local trattoria that the hotel recommended (Buon something, near the canal, very old establishment, local clientele). Close enough to walk to. Apparently a lot of the hotel's clientele is Russian. Only criticisms we had were: (a)We much preferred Forte dei Marmi to Viareggio (Viareggio is mostly pizza places and more of a boardwalk atmosphere, whereas Forte dei Mrmi has elegant designer shops and incredible restaurants). In Forte dei Marmi we stayed at the Byron Hotel, which we understand is a sister hotel with same ownership. (b) Hotel parking is limited.

The online booking price was very attractive but only gave us the lowest type of room. We paid to upgrade to a sea view on the front, at €27 extra per night, but as advertised this was noisy with street cleaners etc in the early hours, however we thought this move was worth it as the view was great. Being the end of November the Hotel itself seemed very quiet. Being a fishing port there are some fantastic fish and seafood restaurants close to the Hotel, but if you are not a fish eater check before you sit down as some offer nothing else. The hotel has no parking but the doorman keeps a couple of bays clear in front of the hotel, and we were able to find one of these empty for most of our stay.

The staff was very welcoming and gave great suggestions for places to eat. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The location can't be beat. Breakfast was great - what a view! We didn't have trouble finding parking, but it could be a problem during high season.

Very comfortable hotel located on a tree-lined square at the beginning of a long flat promenade. Bus terminus is located in this square so very convenient for transport to all locations. Front rooms might be noisy but we had a back room which was very quiet. Excellent hot & cold breakfast choice, in rooftop restaurant with panoramic views. Staff attentive and friendly. A very fine hotel, recommended.

We were disappointed at the size of the room and having booked 6 months in advance, very disappointed at not having a view or a balcony. We experienced some noise from the restaurant each morning but otherwise it was quiet.

While the hotel and its employees are delightful, there is a HUGE parking problem in the area. One must find street parking in this beach resort town. Not an easy feat. Do not arrive on a Saturday night, expecting to find parking.

Very nice hotel, well located in a busy part of town, car parking can be a bit of a problem, but overall an excellent holiday.

After going to some length to secure a larger than standard room, we got there to find the upgrade (which I was paying extra for) tiny. Was then showed another room which carried a further supplement but was satisfactory. Service was otherwise outstanding, and it was still a lovely hotel in great positon.

We stayed one night in May and unfortunately it was noisy outside and the air-conditioning was not very effective. Apart from that, the hotel is nice decoratively and the roof terrace where breakfast is served is lovely.

Excellent hotel. Would definitely stay there again if I return to Viareggio. Breakfast in the roof-top restaurant is marvellous. Very clean, immaculate, rooms. Exactly what you would expect from a four star hotel.

The hotel was nice as too was the room - although the room was very small the bathroom had been beautifully redecorated and refitted. The restaurant was very nice, and the food excellent, although the food was quite pricey, but in September there was not much open in the vicinity so the hotel restaurant was almost the only option. The only real complaint with the hotel was that on check-out was queried the Visa slip which implied we would be charged in sterling. We wanted to pay in euro on as it was a euro Visa credit card, and the reception clerk was adamant that we would be, and that the sterling amount was only there for our information. We clearing wrote on the slip that we wanted to be charged in euro so that there would be no misunderstanding. However on our return we found that we had been charged in sterling at an additional conversion cost.

This is a great hotel. First class rooms and accomidations and the best view of the sea in town. I would highly recommend it. Since I live in Orlando where there are many thousands of hotel rooms I have to say that this hotel was really a bargain at the price and I would certainly stay there again. It was exactly as advertised on the web page.

All the excellents say it all. The best hotel we stayed in out of five. It was especially pleasing because the price was so reasonable as well.
