Hotel personnel made up for lack otherwise. They were very friendly, extremely helpful and knowlegable. Our room, 208, was tiny. Bathroomclean but needs overhaul. It is visible that the hotel has been renovated a few times but not well. Furniture falling apart and cheap. Curtains and blankets nice. Noisy room since facing front of hotel w traffic. Needs good windows then not a problem. Handle almost falling off. No safe in room. Breakfast good, service good. Hotel claims to be a 4 star hotel...not by common standards and with all theae issues. At best a 3 and. For that too expensive.

Hotel lost all communication facities during my wholestay. I know the staff werent to blame but not good for hotel in such a good tourist city. I extended my stay also as this lack of phone, fax, and internet caused alterations tomy plans. BUT the staff were very helpful and would recommend for a 3 star as long as communications didnt fail again. Bus into old city just a short walk away too n very regular.

Lovely staff was the only nice thing to say. The noise was horrific on a main road from the train station all night long. Aircon was disabled by hotel, even though it was 30 degrees plus in the room. Having had to leave windows open added to the noise problem even more. There was a bunch of street walker hookers in the car park, complete with pimps, which really drags the experience down further. They attracted their own share of traffic. Only good aspect is proximity to train station & perhaps the breakfast, which was ok. Would not recommend unless you are desperate for a room.

Close to the train station and a 20 to 25 minute walk to the old town (or there are buses/taxis from the station). Not the best area in late evening/night, but okay. The staff is very helpful and efficient and there was a small but good breakfast.

The hotel is nice and clean, five minutes walk from the railway station where there are several buses to go downtown. ("Everything" is in the old part of Verona and that is a 30 min walk away.) Hotel staff is very nice and willing to help. Even though breakfast was rather poor, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel was rather easy to find. The location has good and not so good points. It is very close to the main bus and train service. We took a day trip by train to Venice. However, should you decide to walk to the centre, it is a good half hour walk to the main part of town. Breakfasts were rather ordinary for the size of the hotel. There were no fresh fruits

This hotel was decent with efficient, if rather cold, staff. They gave us a hassle before arrival, threatening to cancel our reservation because I had changed credit cards, the only one of six pre-booked hotels to do so. It’s close to the station and sign-posted. But the piazza outside the station is such a mess of construction, buses, taxis and general chaos that we had some difficulty finding it. The most direct route to the historical centre takes you through all this chaos. However we did find a far more pleasant, if more circuitous, route along the city walls towards Chiese di San Zeno Maggiore – the highlight of our visit to the city. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. The room was quite small and needed some handyman attention, with bathroom fittings threatening to fall out of the wall. Through the evening the street outside was fairly quiet but early in the morning there was a huge din as kids file towards a nearby school.

This hotel is very handy to the railway station. This suited our requirements very well. Of the hotels we looked at in Verona it was very economic. The breakfast provided was quite outstanding in variety and volume. The location is about 20 minutes walk from the centre of town, which we happily did both ways. There are also several buses from the station nearby. We would stay there again.

We found the Novohotel Rossi to be an excellent choice of hotel for visiting Verona, in terms of price, quality of the room, attitude of hotel staff, and accessibility to public transport. The room was spacious and clean with generous storage space. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, and provided us with much helpful information about getting around the city. The breakfast, included in the price, was excellent, offering a wide choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, croissants etc. We also liked the location, since the hotel was just a few minutes walk from the main bus and train station, from where there were frequent buses into the city centre as well as to locations further afield. Would definitely book there again if visiting Verona in the future.

The location is not good as far away from the city centre. Only one bus line still be in services between the hotel and city centre after 8:00pm with two numbers of run per hour. Waiting time is about 20-30 minutes. It is very inconvenient if you planned to have sight seeing there for only one night. There is a large carpark outside the hotel and we were wake up by the traffic noise in the early morning around 6:30am. Moreover, we had a terrible experience there. A man shouted at us in the hotel lobby and instructed us to show the passport. We are not sure whether he is a security guard or not. Although the hotel staffs apologized to us, the security guard had hide behind the reception counter. Room space is small. Wifi internet is NOT free. Breakfast is pretty good.

We planned a two night stay in Verona and wanted to fit in a train trip to Venice for a full day of sightseeing. Novo Hotel Rossi was the perfect location as it is only a 5 min walk to the station. Two females in mid-50's but felt comfortable arriving back late at night and walking from the station to the hotel. Our room faced the street but there was no problem with noise even with the window opened. Space was limited with two single beds but what you expect in Italy. Very clean renovated bathroom with good shower. Like previous reviewers we were impressed with the professionalism and helpfulness of staff.

Take into consideration that you may find some old furniture on the room (but bathroom was very clean and renewed recently). It is not the best place to walk around and you may take about 30 min to walk to Verona downtown (what can be expected by the price you will pay). However, as we had a car it was a very good option to stay there. The breakfast (included) was also not bad.

We arrived late and due to that fact, we received a small room. However the staff was very polite and offered us for the second night a bigger room. We rejected that cause we stayed only one more night and didn´t want do loose time for moving. (it was offered to be done by the hotel staff - anyway we said no.) Red light disctrict was not so annoying like others wrote. If you walk to the city center you will find a lot nicer restaurants than in the center. The 20 min from Piazza Bra to the Hotel is not too much.

This is very much a 3* hotel, but a good one. Its a 30 min walk into town, which is pleasant but is very handily placed near the train station - however, given that you need to be aware that there does seem to be a slight prostitution issue - so not ideal for walking back as single ladies - this really didnt bother us at all and wasnt a big issue, but some might be put off. Rooms are adequate, smallish, but quiet, clean and tidy with good shower facilities. Not luxurious, but that isnt what we were looking for. Breakfast was very nice too. What we particularly liked about this place was the professionalism and friendliness of the staff who were excellent and very welcoming and I would have no problem recommending it.

A few minutes walk from the train & bus station so ideal location for travellers who want to explore the area by public transport. However a female traveller on her own might feel uneasy returning to the hotel on foot after dark. Longer walk to main sites and eating places so the less mobile traveller would need to take a taxi. Very friendly and helpful staff always on duty. A bit more variation in the buffet breakfast would have been welcome plus a few added hot items.

Only my second hotel in Europe. I chose it for ease of getting to/from station. It was not like the usual location of station hotels. Although it was a bit of a walk, it was flat and easy and well signposted from the station. It was in a quiet street at the rear and I heard no trains at all. I asked for a quiet room at the back and they upgraded me to a double without my asking. It looked out on the park and although I heard a little bit of noise from other guests in corridor and nearby, I heard no street or train noise at all. Although the bathroom was a little small it was very clean and quite adequate. I was pleasantly surprised and decided to stay a third night. The free bikes were a real plus as it is a longish walk to the centre of town. I found it very easy, flat and with many cycle lanes or quiet back streets to explore. Breakfast was very ample and delicious with a good choice, in pleasant surroundings. I was not troubled by the few prostitutes, who do hang about in the area nearby. I was quite happy to come and go on my own, although i didnt try to come back after dark. I would be very happy to stay there again and I loved Verona, especially in the early evening.

The hotel was convenient (400m walk) for the train and bus station from which it was a 5 minute bus journey into the centre of Verona (depening on traffic). The hotel staff were very helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean. Price-wise I would say that it represented good value for Verona.

I chose this hotel because it's close to the train station and I needed the convenience, but, not surprisingly, being near the train station means being in a lousy area, which would be fine if the hotel were less expensive, but I thought it was very overpriced for the area it's in. It's clean and new inside, albeit devoid of charm, but I wish we'd spent 8 euros on a cab and stayed in town.

Close to train station, but a 15 minute hike from town, this hotel nevertheless offer good value for money. The road from the hotel to the station seems to be a prostitute haunt, but nothing threatening.

Location is not good. Do not feel safe about the surrounding. Although close to the railway station, the hotel is far from the major spot of the city.

I stayed alone for 10 nights. The staff were very helpful in several specific ways and were always very polite and cheerful. Breakfast was plentiful and service excellent. I had a room on the back which was very quiet but very small. The hotel is very close to the local and regional bus terminus so no need to walk into the centre- there are plenty of buses. There are a few prostitutes in the street but they were not agressive for pedestrians.

The location is very convenient: just 200 meters from the central Porta Nuova railway station. At the same time the area is quiet because it is aside from the big streets. The building is older but very nice and clean. I also found the staff very helpful! Mille grazie!

I stayed in Verona for 4 days having one day trip to Venice in the meantime and the hotel was really great solution.First of all it is so close to the station(5-7 minutes of walk).About the room:spotless, nicely furbished, with a nice but a bit too small bathroom(it was a single room).Breakfast was just great:everything fresh and lots of it however coffee could be better for Italy!the surroundings of the hotel could also be better-people hanging around didn't make me feel extremely safe but nothing happened. To the centre of Verona it is not so far(I walked most of times and it takes around 20 minutes/half an hour)but as far as I know there are bikes you can get for free from the hotel.Generally I would recommend this hotel because of location and quite high standard for 3 stars it has.Good, relaxing stay.

Staff freindly and informative. very close to the train station and buses. 15 minute walk to arena. Train station is a bit seedy and there are some hidous trollops hanging around in the streets but not many hotels of this price can boast ac that works and Sky TV. Rooms were smallish but comfortable and very clean. Great location if your touring by train.

Extremely close to train station (but not close enough to hear the noise). Easy walk to the arena. Very nice room backing a green area. The staff was wonderful and helpful.

2 nigths in this clean, refurnished hotel. Very quiet. Bathroom is very clean but small. Breakfast is OK. Free private car park in the hotel. Downtown (Arena Place) is about 15-20 min by foot (5 min from train station), but direct hotel surroundings are not so nice, so walk fast !

In general is OK but at night the surroundings are not nice for a person alone, you have to take a taxi. The breakfast is just correct. If you want to visit Verona center is 12 minutes walking or in the station you have many buses.

First of all, it was a bit hard to find the hotel. Not that it's far away, in fact it's very close to the train station, but the street it's on isn't listed on the maps you can buy at the station. So just find someone to help you out and it's a 7 minute walk to the hotel. The staff is very friendly and were so helpful. One staff member directed us to a great restaurant. Also, breakfast was included in the price. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms, while small, were very nice. The bathroom was spotless, with plenty of high-end amenities. We had turn-down service with a chocolate on the bed. I highly recommend the hotel. Although it may not be in the prettiest part of Verona, it was very conveniently located next to the train station and the bus lines.

The hotel and room was exactly as described on the Venere webpage. The room was rather small, but clean and sufficient for four days. The nights were silent, since car traffic on the street is prohibited after 11 pm. Only at daytime some more traffic and some noise from railway. 15 minutes walk to Piazza Bra and the arena. No restaurants or pubs in the near neighborhood, fast food available at the railway station (ca. 250 m), other restaurants on the way to the city centre. Drawback: After 5 pm some 'ladies' lined up at the street, less than 30 m from the hotel entrance, every evening.

the room was excellent, with all the comforts and a very spacious bathroom, too. Also excellent was the selection available at breakfast and the appearance of the hotel. The place is very easy to reach from the station, just a short walk so it's quite handy if a bit secluded and not far from the city centre either, of easy reach with the bus or even on foot. The only negative thing was the proximity of the railways track which was a bit noisy some times in the night if we had our window open. All in all excellent value for money and excellent hotel.

My sister and I stayed here only two nights, but wish we had booked it for more. The staff was friendly and helpful. Even though there is no restraunt in the hotel (a nice breakfast is served) they call one down the street to be sure that they were still open for lunch before we wandered down there. We had a "superior" room and it was worth the little extra money - they had a turn down service and a chocolate at the bedside at night. We had trouble figuring out the satalite system, but the young lady at the desk was very sweet and came right away to help figure out that the connections had been undone when the room was cleaned. It was a very pleasant place to stay and I would recomend it to anyone.
