Hotel West Point - Villafranca di Verona, Verona

Lovely hotel good location if you have car, 2 mins from airport, 10 mins from city centre and 20/30 mins from garda land and lake garde. Great hotel for price, used all leisure facilities and breakfast was good and plenty of it. If your looking for a base to explore Verona u can't go wrong with this hotel, love Verona and will def come back

The receptionist was very helpful and recommended a restaurant and gave us bus details. On the directions page to the hotel we were told to get bus 56. We were unable to find the bus and had to take a taxi as that bus does not run on Sunday and we were not aware of that. Our only concern was the behaviour of a group of young children at the pool unsupervised by any adult and throwing stools and shoes into the pool.It was very unsafe as they were running around chasing each other and screaming.

The hotel was amazing, but we didn't receive a bill even we asked for it.

Clean, modern and spacious. The reception staff were very helpful and professional. My only issue was the fact that there was a cost for wifi - even to use the desktop they had in the lobby. With this being a four star hotel, one would think that would be free or nominal. The pool was nice to use after all the walking we'd been doing seeing the sites in Europe - it's not big by North American standards, but it was clean and did the trick. Instructions on how to turn on the jets for the Turkish spa (hot tub) would have been helpful - and I don't know if the name Turkish spa means no heat? As we were in a heat wave I didn't mind at all, but others might need that explained in winter. I do wish the pool hadn't been in the basement so it had natural lighting, but oh well. Location was good for using the nearby airport (we heard no planes), and also for those looking for an easy place to overnight from the autobahn en route elsewhere as we were. Not great though for those wanting to see Verona itself. The breakfast was the best we had in almost four weeks of travel - large variety including healthy options which was great. When we arrived mid-afternoon though, we couldn't eat there - the reception called a nearby restaurant (10 percent discount for hotel guests) and they stayed open for us. Again - good food, but a surprise that there was a 3 Euro each seating fee. We expected that in Rome and Florence, but not in this more isolated location. Also - we tried takeout that night at a nearby Mexican restaurant (also recommended) and had to wait more than an hour after being told 15 minutes. We were given a small discount for the poor service - and the hotel reception took note and may not recommend it again. So - overall I would say it is a nice place to overnight or catch a flight, clean and spacious, good breakfast - but beware the internet charges and the issues of having to eat at nearby restaurants for lunch and dinners in the absence of a hotel meal.

A new hotel a couple of minutes away from the Verona airport. There was a good restaurant (LaMuse) across the road.
