Great location - a couple of minutes walk from Piazza Bra. The bus stop for the train station was right across the street. Very comfortable, clean, convenient. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I travelled solo and felt quite comfortable here. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is lovely, excellent location - its really quick, 5 mins on foot, and easy to get to the sites and shops, brilliant welcome, such friendly staff. The room was clean, a little basic, and lacked any character, which was a contrast to the reception area that was luxurious, stylish and intimate. Which is my only criticism, it is not a big one at all, seeing this is a 2 star hotel, which is easy to forget, as it is so good! Our room had a little balcony too, which was really nice. Breakfast was lovely, we spent ages, having a bit of everything! We would wholeheartedly recommend the hotel, this is better than most 4 star hotels! Awesome value!

The good: location quite central, good breakfast buffet & staff mostly pleasant. The bad: a VERY noisy hotel (very thin walls, marble & tile floors, metal roller shutters - I could hear every word and snore from the next room). The ugly: being woken well before 8am by workmen in the room next door with drills, hammers etc doing some type of demolition/renovation (and I was wasting my breath trying to explain to the staff why this was not acceptable). I won't be staying there again.

The location was excellent, easy to find by car and next to all touristical sites; very good and various breakfast; staff is friendly and helpful; the minus point is the bathroom: very small; we had to open the shower door to be able to sit on the toilet! Bathroom was not very clean either.

Great place to stay so long as you bring ear plugs for sleeping. The walls are paper thin. Very well sited and easy to get to, off street parking available but very tight. Only a couple of blocks from the city walls, good restaurants nearby.

The hotel Trieste was excellent. We were give a free upgrade to a superior room for our two night stay, which was much appreciated. The location is on a busy road, but noise was not a problem at all. It is very close to the Arena (approx 5 minutes walk). A good selection of breakfast items was provided.

Lovely place. The breakfast was delicious. This is not a 3 star hotel, but in my opinion a 4 star hotel. Very close to the Arena and the center of the town, easy and pleasant walking location, near the best shops of Verona.

This was excellent value for the cost. Convenient for the train station & an easy walk to central Verona. The staff were helpful & friendly, despite our poor & limited Italian. The breakfast was very good &, in fact, was superior to the 4* hotel we stayed at in Milano. We stayed 5 nights & would definitely return if in Verona in the future.

This hotel is really not a "3-star" hotel when comparing with other same class hotels we stayed before. The room looked old and shabby. The wall is so thin that we could hear the noise and talk in the adjacent room. There're many cracks in the bathroom tiles and shower tub, not to mention the dirty marks. Whenever we turned on the tap, there'll be an annoying loud noise. While the young girl at reception at daytime was quite friendly and helpful, the night staff at the reception was very rude and unfriendly (perhaps because we had disturbed him from watching TV). All in all, we consider that this hotel was not worth as "3-star" hotel and definitely not value for the room rate at 109 euro. We would not recommend this hotel to any other travellers.

Great location in the heart of Verona, but expensive for the quality. Very bad noise insulation from the street. Some very noisy piping problems kept us awake for a couple of hours, but it was fortunately fixed after telling the reception. Friendly staff (apart from the grumpy receptionist in the evening who did not help much with pipes noise, solved by the night receptionist). They have their own car park, which is very convenient.

We loved Verona and wish we had planned to stay longer. The Hotel Trieste was lovely, but the room was very small and we could hear the child in the room next door. The front desk staff was helpful in suggesting restaurants, etc. From the hotel it is a short walk into the main piazza.

Hotel Trieste is just as it looked in the photographs. I went with my mother and sister for a birthday treat to the opera. We stayed in a standard room and it was incredibly spacious. Very simply decorated but just what you need. Although the hotel is on a busy road you can't hear it and it is literally a 5 minute walk to the Arena. Absolutely fantastic.

Stayed for just one night. Great location just outside the old town of Verona. An easy stroll to the Arena. The garage was a real bonus as parking is difficult to find unless you know your way around the back streets. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The room, modern and clean. Comfy longe area near the entrance with wi-fi. Calm breakfast room with a lovely continental buffet on offer. Would stay again.

We journeyed to Verona to see the opera Aida in the outdoor amphitheatre. It was excellent though rain shortened. We stayed at the Trieste because it was close to the amphitheatre and the old city. If you are planning to stay at the Trieste be sure to ask for a renovated room. They are much bigger and more modern than those not yet renovated. The staff are great.

As we were driving this was an easy hotel to find once we were off the motorway. Parking underneath so no problem. The room and bathroom small but that is not a real issue for us. It was a very easy walk into the old town and it was close to the open bus tour which we did as we only spent a day in Verona. Breakfast was fine and we had our best meal in Italy in Verona just behind Piazza dei Signori (we think). Anyway we ate outside and the restaurant was called La Locanda de Capitani.

The distance from the train station to the hotel was too much. Directions were sketchy....it was way too far for two senior citizens and the streets were way too busy. We arrived stressed and drained. The hotel location however was great....near the historical center. The hotel was charming, the personnel very accommodating. The room was very nice with a pleasant decor. Bed was comfortable, bath was spotless. However bath does need some place for toiletries to be stored and more hooks for clothing. Breakfast was more than enough, many choices and delicious pastries/breads. Bought wine at bar to take to room. It was a good price and very good. We had a 515AM departure for the airport and so got no breakfast. I would like to have had something to take with us or a slight refund since we couldn't take advantage of the included meal. It wasn't offered however. We would stay there again if we ever return to Verona.

The hotel is in an excellent location on the main route between the railway station and the centre of the old town. We were given an attic room with a very pleasant atmosphere. The room was spacious and there were extras like a heated towel rack in the bathroom. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very efficient and friendly. To make it perfect we would have liked to have had an internet terminal in the lobby. We will choose this hotel again, next time we are visiting Verona.

The hotel was in a good location. The rooms were a bit spartan due to the modern/boutique design such as no bedside table lamps for reading but potlights in the ceiling.Would not reccomend for handicap persons as you have to climb 3 steps to reach the main floor elevator. It was OK given it was Verona in August.

We've stayed at the Trieste before and can't beat it for position between the arena and the train station. It seems to be always full and we were delighted to find space at relatively short notice during the arena festival period. The hotel has had a serious refurb since our last stay! We had a huge room, newly fitted shower. Only minor niggle a teeny TV which would have been fine in an average sized room but invisible from the bed in ours! No problem, not there to watch tv so no English channels wasn't a negative either. Splendid air-con, which I don't recall from last time. We also had a balcony. Breakfast was fine. Very cosmopolitan, little English spoken but fab cheeses and local ham. Very helpful staff on reception and breakfast. They were happy to let us keep the room for a while to fit with our flight schedule. We'll return. If we can find a space. Always confused on star ratings in Italy. Trieste ranks 2. I've stayed in worse ranked 4!!

Overall, this was a nice hotel with good service. For some reason, we were given a smoking room when we had requested non-smoking. We did not have time to ask to change it as we had an engagement to get to. The room itself was clean but there was a light remainder of smoke, and right outside the door of our room, it smelled smokey. We would return here ONLY if the hotel guaranteed a non-smoking room and we got there and it actually was one.

It's in a great location really near everything and the hotel staff were friendly and I was very happy with the hotel. My only concern was one of the male receptionists. He got most offended that I didn't fancy him and as he had taken great effort to find out my name and age from my passport he got quite abusive towards me when I turned him down. Apart from him it was good. Female travellers beware....

This is a lovely hotel close to the arena and the old town. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we were lucky eonough to be upgraded to one of their delux rooms, aida. This room was very nice although the lack of a view was disappointing, the room was in the attic and only had velux windows. As we were in Verona to see Aida at the arena we thought it was fate! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for something close to the sights of Verona.

Very clean and proper hotel. Highly recommendably! Very good breakfast for italian relations. Only a 5 minutes walk to the arena of verona. If you are coming by car big bonus is the garage offered, which is to levels underground and reachable only driving down a very very narrow (especially with larger cars like combis) road. We did it all the same. I would definitely stay there again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Trieste. The room was minuscule but it worked for me as a person travelling on my own. It was very comfortable and clean, the shower had good water pressure and the window opened - all important considerations for me. The morning breakfast was a very nice selection of fruits, yogurts, cereals, brioches, cold meats and cheeses.

This hotel is a gem. We could not believe it only has 2 stars. It is in an excellent location, just a stroll from the arena and old town. Granted our room overlooked a busy road so could be noisy at peak times but with the windows shut we couldn't hear a thing.Air con worked well so heat not an issue. We had a balcony and thoroughly enjoyed being able to sit out and enjot the view. The staff was excellent. The receptionist gave us a run down of all the sights and several useful maps without even being asked. Breakfast was excellent, they actually knew how to make decent tea! Highly recommended.

I was very pleased to visit Hotel Trieste and the staff gave good advice and the hotel, its class, services and its surroundings were as described in venere.com pages. We were traveling party of 5 people (2 kids)and had two deluxe rooms. Check-in went fine and everything (babycot, bigger rooms) was prepared for us according to our wishes. It was very warm but air conditioning worked fine. The view from courtyard rooms are far from spectacular but that was known thanks to venere.com pages. The only minor setback was that on the 9th of July there was massive footbal celebration in Verona and the noise could be heard in the streetside room even on the fifth floor(which on the other hand had a good view). But I guess Italy doesn't win football World championships every day:)Gongratulations Italy!

L'hôtel parfait pour visiter Vérone : remarquablement placé, rénové avec beaucoup de goût, dans un style moderne, avec les avantages de l'hôtellerie familiale, c'est à dire très bien tenu et excellent accueil. Adresse à retenir.

We loved this hotel. The room was newly renovated, air conditioned, and had a very nice bathroom. It was within walking distance of the opera, and the train station was very close. A PERFECT CHOICE.

The rooms were clean and the location was brillant and thats all that was really good about this place. The rooms are very small and the price you pay you really don't get the mod cons you expect. You are waken up by the nose of the lift. The staff are not very warm and friendly, like we experienced in other hotels in other parts of Italy. I think the price you pay you can find a better more modern and pleasant hotel elsewhere in verona.

Excellent hotel close to the historical district. Location from the train station is a little misleading. Don't try to walk if its hot or you have a lot of luggage. Great multilingual staff, exception breakfast buffett which is included. Only downside is air conditioning is inadequate.

The hotel is only about 150metres from the arena, breakfast was a good continental buffet and there is a good self service restaurant in the Piazza Bra oposite the arena.
