My wife and I have just enjoyed a lovely 6 night stay at this hotel. The rooms are beautifully clean, the staff most helpful with travel arrangements etc. and great breakfasts were provided. The traffic can be a bit noisy, but double glazing and shutters do a good job. We used the bikes provided (free!) on a Sunday afternoon, which was delightful. There are lots of bikes in Verona, but bike lanes too. There are lots of places to visit - in Verona and further afield. Lots of shopping available and eating places if that interests you too. Town centre and all attractions and station easy to reach on foot.

Good central hotel within easy walking distance of the centre of Verona. We have a room at the front of the hotel, so it was noisy if you had the window open. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Not so good on the fruit juices, would recommend they source their juice from Innocent. Would stay again. Good staff at reception.

A great place to stay while you are in Verona. Close enough to walk to almost everything of touristy need i.e. historic sites and train station. We stayed at numerous hotels during our 2 week vacation in Italy and this was be far, the nicest. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and the free use of bicycles to ride around town was wonderful. Breakfast was great and they would even make eggs any way you wanted them which was a first for us in Italy. We strongly recommend this hotel.

Hotel Trieste was fantastic. The location was perfect: 10 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes from the beginning of the old town, on a main street so easy to find. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and gave us a great restaurant recommendation for lunch (Orologia, which is right down the street). Breakfast was good, with cereal, ham, cheese, fruit, etc., and someone there to constantly tend to things that were running out. We had one of the renovated rooms, which was very nice, with a bright new feel and an amazing bathroom complete with rain shower. The older rooms don't look great, so you should just ask for one of the newer ones, if they have not already remodeled all of the rooms by the time you get there. We would definitely stay in Hotel Trieste again.

Hotel was in a great location, near where you want to be. Rooms were small, but adequate. The staff was helpful and friendly. Strange that there were no storage for clothes or places to put suitcases without tripping. Bathrooms were tiny and had no towel racks or hooks. Breakfasts were plentiful. Overall, a good choice if you want to be near the historic center.

Hotel location = excellent: within walking distance to the arena. Breakfast excellent (real fresh orange juice, Espresso + Cappucino for free ...) Very friendly staff. And the best: bicycles free of charge (Veronas centre is +/- flat) Verona is very expensive compared with other citys. That is why I only gave 7 for "value for money"

This is a well located and well run hotel. The staff were welcoming and helpful, showing us on arrival how to gain entry to the useful underground car park. Nice sized clean room with comfortable bed. The only problem we had was not realising that the noise from the main street outside the window would be so intrusive. [Like when they loaded 3 large diggers from the ongoing roadworks onto a transport vehicle at 5.30am....... followed by the refuse collection vehicle half an hour later] So if you sleep lightly, make sure you ask for a room at the rear... Apparently rooms are being retrofitted with sound proofing to the windows, but me, I would go for a rear room. Pleasant breakfast room. The walk into the centre of Verona is very easy. Would I stay again? certainly. Would I recommend? Certainly.

My college roommate from over 20 years ago and I celebrated our 40th birthdays in Italy and found Verona and Hotel Trieste such a great addition to our trip. The hotel is perfectly located: across the street from a bus stop to the train station and a very pleasant, scenic and short walk into the touristy part of town. It was nice to be near the action, but we were able to escape it too. We took great use of the free bikes and navigated easily through all of the town and beyond. The staff was friendly and helpful; the room was clean; and the free breakfast was excellent for an Italian hotel. For 100 Euros it was the best deal we had on our 11 day trip. Side comment in Verona--a common specialty on the menus in horse meat. Several menus we saw were not translated into English so ask if you're not sure of the origins of your meat.

The hotel is lovely, excellent location - its really quick, 5 mins on foot, and easy to get to the sites and shops, brilliant welcome, such friendly staff. The room was clean, a little basic, and lacked any character, which was a contrast to the reception area that was luxurious, stylish and intimate. Which is my only criticism, it is not a big one at all, seeing this is a 2 star hotel, which is easy to forget, as it is so good! Our room had a little balcony too, which was really nice. Breakfast was lovely, we spent ages, having a bit of everything! We would wholeheartedly recommend the hotel, this is better than most 4 star hotels! Awesome value!

The good: location quite central, good breakfast buffet & staff mostly pleasant. The bad: a VERY noisy hotel (very thin walls, marble & tile floors, metal roller shutters - I could hear every word and snore from the next room). The ugly: being woken well before 8am by workmen in the room next door with drills, hammers etc doing some type of demolition/renovation (and I was wasting my breath trying to explain to the staff why this was not acceptable). I won't be staying there again.

This hotel is really not a "3-star" hotel when comparing with other same class hotels we stayed before. The room looked old and shabby. The wall is so thin that we could hear the noise and talk in the adjacent room. There're many cracks in the bathroom tiles and shower tub, not to mention the dirty marks. Whenever we turned on the tap, there'll be an annoying loud noise. While the young girl at reception at daytime was quite friendly and helpful, the night staff at the reception was very rude and unfriendly (perhaps because we had disturbed him from watching TV). All in all, we consider that this hotel was not worth as "3-star" hotel and definitely not value for the room rate at 109 euro. We would not recommend this hotel to any other travellers.

Great location in the heart of Verona, but expensive for the quality. Very bad noise insulation from the street. Some very noisy piping problems kept us awake for a couple of hours, but it was fortunately fixed after telling the reception. It was a very easy walk into the old town and it was close to the open bus tour which we did as we only spent a day in Verona. The distance from the train station to the hotel was too much. Directions were sketchy....it was way too far for two senior citizens and the streets were way too busy. We arrived stressed and drained. The hotel location however was great....near the historical center. The hotel was charming, the personnel very accommodating. The room was very nice with a pleasant decor. Bed was comfortable, bath was spotless. However bath does need some place for toiletries to be stored and more hooks for clothing. Breakfast was more than enough, many choices and delicious pastries/breads. Bought wine at bar to take to room. It was a good price and very good. We had a 515AM departure for the airport and so got no breakfast. I would like to have had something to take with us or a slight refund since we couldn't take advantage of the included meal. It wasn't offered however. We would stay there again if we ever return to Verona.

We've stayed at the Trieste before and can't beat it for position between the arena and the train station. It seems to be always full and we were delighted to find space at relatively short notice during the arena festival period. The hotel has had a serious refurb since our last stay! We had a huge room, newly fitted shower. Only minor niggle a teeny TV which would have been fine in an average sized room but invisible from the bed in ours! No problem, not there to watch tv so no English channels wasn't a negative either. Splendid air-con, which I don't recall from last time. We also had a balcony. Breakfast was fine. Very cosmopolitan, little English spoken but fab cheeses and local ham. Very helpful staff on reception and breakfast. They were happy to let us keep the room for a while to fit with our flight schedule. We'll return. If we can find a space. Always confused on star ratings in Italy. Trieste ranks 2. I've stayed in worse ranked 4!!

Overall, this was a nice hotel with good service. For some reason, we were given a smoking room when we had requested non-smoking. We did not have time to ask to change it as we had an engagement to get to. The room itself was clean but there was a light remainder of smoke, and right outside the door of our room, it smelled smokey. We would return here ONLY if the hotel guaranteed a non-smoking room and we got there and it actually was one.

We stayed in five hotels in Italy, and this was the most expensive one, but far from best in terms of services and facilities. There is not much to do in Verona compared to the more famous cities, and we stayed there because of our flight the next day.

I stay on Verona one night, just for vacations. I really like the Hotel, Very Modern, a lot of space, Balcony was a Plus.. Walking distance for Everything. I think that they should explain better how to get to the hotel after you go out of the train station. I will definitely recommend this hotel.. was one of the best in Italy and the BEST PRICE... By the Way Verona it Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't expect it... Really Save to walk!! Just Walk everywere.. you will found sooo many nice places!!

This was our second time visiting Verona and we will always stay at Trieste. From the accomodating staff, nice rooms, and fantastic breakfast, to the location and ease of getting around Verona, it's a fantastic deal for the price.

Very acceptable hotel in very good location for exploring Verona. The staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming (and spoke great English). Our room was perfectly satisfactory though a bit bland and could have benefited from a picture on the wall!

It's in a great location really near everything and the hotel staff were friendly and I was very happy with the hotel. My only concern was one of the male receptionists. He got most offended that I didn't fancy him and as he had taken great effort to find out my name and age from my passport he got quite abusive towards me when I turned him down. Apart from him it was good. Female travellers beware....

Great staff, though English is a struggle for some of the front desk staff. Room was spacious, newly renovated with a great bathroom. Breakfast is standard Italian hotel buffet, Great value for the price. We'd stay again.

This is a lovely hotel close to the arena and the old town. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we were lucky eonough to be upgraded to one of their delux rooms, aida. This room was very nice although the lack of a view was disappointing, the room was in the attic and only had velux windows. As we were in Verona to see Aida at the arena we thought it was fate! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for something close to the sights of Verona.

Very clean and proper hotel. Highly recommendably! Very good breakfast for italian relations. Only a 5 minutes walk to the arena of verona. If you are coming by car big bonus is the garage offered, which is to levels underground and reachable only driving down a very very narrow (especially with larger cars like combis) road. We did it all the same. I would definitely stay there again.

Great Location, large room, good breakfast. We did day trips via the train, the location is ten to fifteen minutes from the train station and five minutes from the town pedestrian area. This hotel is a great value.
