The hotel was better than I was expecting. It's a little bit of a walk to the center, but manageable. There is a bar about 5 minutes walk toward the stadium where I went for breakfast rather than paying for questionable hotel breakfast. The heat in the room was turned up far too high and was uncomfortable, but the window did open. Overall, it met my needs and exceeded my expectations. I would stay here again.

Hotel is quite near to the railway station but a little bit far away from the historic centre of the city. There is no bus route from hotel to city centre. Hotel receptionist turns off the air conditioning every day for couple of hours and I think that is not acceptable in the heat of the summer. They turn it on again if you make a complaintment.

The hotel was near the train station which was what we wanted. However, it consisted of two buildings so you feel a little like the unwanted relative when you are in the building with no reception. The rooms were plain but functional. I probably would not stay here again unless I need a location close to the station like I did this time.

The location is very good (6 minutes walking from Verona) and that i was looking for. I went many times to Verona but first time to this hotel. If someone is not looking for luxury but a value for money hotel it is perfect because during the Opera festival prices get so high that is it diffycult to find somewhere to stay without to pay your half salary. I get supriced with the variety at breakfast. So many things for a hotel such catecory.I was really nice that!

We stayed at this hotel as we were looking for a budget hotel for 1 night to explore the city. For the price, it was very good. The hotel is about 15 mins walk to the centre, so it is reachable by foot. The room was nice and the breakfast was great. The hotel is near a busy road but you dont hear too much traffic as the windows shut out the noise. The air conditioning is a bonus as it was incredibly hot outside, so nice to come back into a cool room.

This was just an average hotel. Nothing fancy (but I didn't want fancy, I just wanted a place to sleep). After flushing the toilet or while taking a shower, there was a loud sound that must have been a pump. It was annoying as you could hear other rooms a well. We needed to check in 1.5 hours early and they would not let us. However, they did have a large closet to store luggage.

Actually, Piccolo is a part of Martini hotel, occupying lower floors of next residential building. The reception is at the main building of Martini hotel. Thus, it´s a little bit less convenient and less expensive. The same stategical location close to railway station and walking distance from downtown. Wi-fi internet paid separately. We contracted only 1 period of 24 h, but, it seems, were charged for 2, not officially (5 Eu difference betwenn bill and charge).

The room was not tiny, but it was the smallest of our travels through Italy. The style inside was very function (like the Ibis chain) though the work table was so close to the bed, I couldn't actually pull the chair out to sit in. There was a narrow, high window in the corner. Breakfast is exceptional!!! The staff seemed more professional than...friendly (if that makes sense). There are no restaurants nearby. There is a shuttle to their partner restaurant, otherwise a 15-20 minute walk. The location is very close to the train station, though I found the directions given on the hotel's website to be incomplete. Google maps was more helpful. If you aren't going to stay near the old town, this is an excellent value.

The hotel is easy to find and near the rail station. It is only a 5-10 minute walk to the center of Verona. However, the AC didn't work in the room, and the shower drain barely worked so that it nearly overflowed. The building wasn't much to look at from the outside, but we did get to store our luggage after checkout. Breakfast was ok. Overall, it wasn't worth the price that I paid for it. We stayed in much nicer hotels for much cheaper in bigger cities. It fulfilled its purpose for a small group for one night though.

This hotel is some way from the city centre which is within a walking time of a minimum of 20 minutes. It is very conveniently situated for the railway station. It offers excellent value and the breakfast is very good and was the best we experienced during a stay at several hotels. The hotel provides a regular minibus service to a nearby sister hotel with a restaurant which offers an excellent set price meal at reasonable cost. Be prepared to wait for the return journey until the driver has finished his meal. Excellent hotel which has to maintain high standards with good value because of its non central position

Despite the road and the hotel looking rather unpreposessing from the outside, the room was very comfortable, quiet and nicely decorated, albeit with a rather "corporate" feel. Puzzlingly it was actually in another hotel adjoining. The whole place felt a bit soulless but it was absolutely fine for a one night stay. I was a bit concerned by not being able to lock the door from the inside; the mechanism somehow didn't enagage. I would have complained about this if I had been staying longer. The hotel is extremely near the station so excellent as I was travelling around by rail, it is not very convenient for exploring the city as it is a good 25 minutes brisk walk to the centre of Verona. In summary I would say it was fine for what I wanted, a one-night stay on a journey, but if I visit the city again I would look for somewhere more central and welcoming.

First time in Verona, just wanted an unexpensive hotel, after 20 days traveling in Croatia. Our main goal was Rigoletto at the Arena, so we just needed a CLEAN hotel with a CLEAN bathroom, towels and bed sheets. After a bad first impression when you get to the Reception and see the façade, we realized that the rooms had been totally refurbished and were really well kept, with our desired neat sheets and an efficient air-conditioning. Given that prices in Verona are high and that we had just had a frustrating -and expensive- experience in a Croatian hotel, we found this one seemed a 5 star hotel for us. Don't expect something 'cozy', charming, classy or special at all. It's just a perfectly clean place, 15 minutes off the wonderful city centre of glorious Verona, which was a great discovery for us. This town is much more than just the Arena and the Shakesperean Lovers' fake touristy milestones. The Piccolo is a great choice if you don't want to pay exhorbitant amounts of money for a clean place to have a rest.

As our first time at Hotel Piccolo to attend the opera at the Arena, it was really important the shuttle service provided, considering the distance of the hotel. We also appreciated the buffet breakfast included in the room price.

The breakfast was by far the best we have had in the hotels of this price range.

Easy access from Train Station (5 minutes walk if you know the way) and within a 15 minute very pleasant walk to the Arena. Hotel staff very helpful and polite with very good English. There are three sister hotels, Martini, Piccolo and the Porto Palio just down the road. Each Hotel provides a good Continental Breakfast. If you want an evening meal ask at reception (The Martini) and a free car will take you to and from the Porto Palio Lido, where the food and service is excellent. From the Porto Palio we took the free coach, provided by the Hotel chain, to the Arena to see Carmen. The same coach takes you back to the hotel(s) after the opera. The Hotel provides bikes to get get around on at only 7 euros per day. This is the best way to see Verona as the area is very flat and, surprisingly, the drivers are very courteous to cyclists. We had the misfortune of my husband having a serious accident in the hotel room (opening a bottle of wine) that resulted in an ambulance journey and a visit to the hospital. Within moments there were three members of staff coming to our aid. We cannot thank them enough for their help on that occasion nor for the pleasantness of our stay there.

We have now stayed at the Piccolo for six consecutive years, and we have never been less than very pleased with the accommodations and the service. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and efficient, and I look forward to returning every year. Breakfasts are excellent and varied. An important aspect of the hotel for me and the small group of college students who come with me is the proximity to the train station. Better directions from the station to the hotel on the web page would be welcome. Although it is a short walk, the path is a little complicated.

Out of the centre of Verona. Horrible man on reception - dont think he'd heard of customer service. And he didnt treat his staff well either - the bellboy was ordered around like a slave.

Le foto sul sito si riferiscono all'edificio principale ma le maggior parte delle camere sono nell'edificio accanto che ha un'aspetto ben diverso. Le camere sono comunque ordinate e moderne.

Good accomodation for a short staying in Verona. Very close to the railstation, you can reach any zone of the city by feet.

Cheapish, and near the station, and fairly easy to find. But the surroundings are not nice, and there are prostitues everywhere, although as a bloke they did not bother me (as in scared me - they certainly approached every man on their own). If you are going to be sightseeing all day, then the Hotel is fine. I think I would go for a B and B next time.

Close to the station but hard to get to from the centre of the city. I didn't feel safe at night coming back to the hotel on foot. Breakfast was great.

I liked this hotel. It is close to main train station, about 5 minutes to walk though there is nothing between station and hotel but many traffic lights and broken pavements, no shops, no restaurants. When you are on Porta Nuova station square you see huge church which you should turn round from left (better) or right side. The hotel Martini/Piccolo (they are in one building) is a little further ahead. I was given a double room as single, the room was convenient. Breakfast was very good, also.

First time, we would recomend it to people if you don't need big luxury. Close to train- and busstation, quite close to the historical center. It was a quiet room, we could sleep very well.

We had a great stay at Hotel Piccolo, which is 5 min walk from the train station and 15 min to the historical centre. The rooms were very clean and spacious, the staff - very polite and helpful, the breakfast - various and tasty. We could leave our bags after check-out and take them just before our departure by train. Really great experinece!

I booked this hotel as I has stayed before on business. Its a good 20 minute walk from the arena so please consider this when booking. Public areas are quite small but staff are friendly and helpfull.

The hotel is very well placed. Very near of the railway (if you want to visit beautiful places in Lombardia it is a great advantage) and near of the historical center of town of Verona (15 min. to the Arena). It is a clean hotel and the breakfast is very good and complete. Very high competence of the employees. We strongly recommend this location and we'll be back here because of the wonderful town of Verona.
