La stanza era comoda e spaziosa, lo staff molto gentile e la colazione molto varia. L'ubicazione dell'hotel è molto buona: 10 minuti di macchina dal centro di Verona. The room was really comfortable and clean, the staff was very kind, breakfast was really good (also in terms of variety. Also the location of the hotel is good: 10 minutes by car to get to the center of Verona.

Old lifts, poor reception and disgusting cafè served by machines on breakfast. The overall cleaning was good. Good deal if you're moving by car. Good private and free parking. The hotel is close to a supermarket

We changed an existing reservation for an other hotel to the Maxim only days before we travelled. I called them to make sure that everything was as we would wish it and was impressed then by the efficiency and pleasantness of the response. The desk staff are all reasonably comfortable English speakers and very keen to be of assistance, even checking weather forecasts, bus services etc for us. Breakfast was typically buffet, but with lots of variety and of good quality. If you like English-speaking television, however, you will be disappointed as only CNN seemed available. That aside, the room was spacious, well-appointed and spotlessly clean; having experienced some tiny Roman bathrooms, I was delighted by the size and quality of ours, with its large walk-in shower and facilities which were off a large vanity unit with a built-in hairdryer, and lots of space for toiletries. The hotel is a little out of the centre of town, around 2 kilomteres. We walked twice and it took around 35 minutes. However, a regular bus-service runs from a block away and that has a flat rate of 1.20 euros, getting you into town in ten minutes. Hotel Maxim is an above-average, modern hotel. If you want quaint, rustic, or historical look elsewhere. However, the deal we secured on Venere made it an affordable, excellent base for exploring the truly beautiful city of Verona which, in our estimation, outshines Florence!

Very nice hotel. The staff was nice and helpful. Good price for the quality. Perfect choice if you are by car: easy to reach and with parking. Not far form the center if driving (consider anyhow that to park in a garage in the center, the cost is 2.20EUR/hour). If you are not by car, it can be not very handy to move to the center.

I was not given specific directions (i.e. left/right from the bus stop) by email nor when I called the hotel after I arrived in Verona. The desk clerk gave vague directions when I called several times to find out where I was at in relation to the hotel. I was walking in the dark while it was raining, pulling two suitcases, and he could not give me specific directions. I literally wandered around for almost two hours looking for the hotel while it stormed. I was soaking wet, cold and shivering and all he could say was, "Your only 5 minutes away." I kept asking him which direction and he kept saying, "You're 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel." Other than that my stay was nice. Great breakfast buffet, and all the coffee I could drink. The staff were very nice and friendly.

The hotel is very nice inside. As for "curb appeal" it is terrible because of the outdoor parking lot which is not part of the hotel. The inside of the hotel, staff, and rooms are very nice but the curb appeal just takes away from the hotel.

It is a mystery how this hotel managed to get a 4 star rating. Rooms are just like a cheap motel in need of renovation. Breakfest is outstanding. A 2 star hotel needing a makeover.

Rooms were ok, but not large. The breakfast buffet was not bad compared with other hotels we have stayed in. IT was the most expensive room we have stayed in and the furtherest from the centre of town, but the buses are close by. There is not much in the area and the hotel restaurant was deserted most of the time. Free parking was a plus - internet wasn't free.

We lived in this hotel several times and we were always satisfied. Unfortunately, we noticed a drop of kindness from the staff of reception. We were very well served in the restaurant during dinner and breakfast. We had a room overlooking the courtyard and from the window you could see a dirt roof and some skylights.

First time in Verona thought we would be very close to city centre - hotel was situated in very poor suburb sitting in middle of a square plot of barren land = no outside space for residents no balcony no terrace no garden nothing at all where you could sit in sun or just get some fresh air. Hotel surrounded by grotty blocks of flats with junk and washing all over balconies - you really didn't want to look out of window even if you could open blinds which blocked out all natural light in the hope that you wouldn't see view. Having succeeded in opening blind once had no desire to do so again. 5 minute walk to bus stop then 15 minute ride to City walls not anticipated all descriptions implied close to city centre - not my idea of close and truly dreadful surroundings Staff unhelpful at Reception and courtesy bus not free. We had to pay 100 euros to get to airport as it only services one of the 2 airports serving Verona. It would have been good to know this!! Sorry don't usually do negatives on these things but very very disappointed.

This is a beautiful hotel, however it is quite a distance to the old city of Verona. The hotel offers a shuttle, in the morning only, but no return. There are buses, if you know how to use them, but we did not have much time, so that was an inconvenience. I think this hotel caters more to the business traveler. The breafast was bountiful and very good.

6 on vacation and visiting relatives in the City proper near the arena and in the country around Verona.Rooms were spacious, quiet and squeaky clean but print and take your reservation because I think if you get the unfriendly staff the first thing they do is give you a lesser room. One room we changed three times the other two twice so we clearly knew that we did not have the best rooms when we checked in. Europeans think a double bed is a large bed and a king is just 2 twins put together.Matresses are hard (not at all like American) and pillows were FLAT. If you're older or cautious, request a room with a shower because the tub/shower in most of the rooms is seriously dangerous.Europeans don't understand the concept of air conditioning. Room systems were totally inadequate and controlled by the room key so when you left it turned off. Although it put out cool air, there was no fan on the system to draw it into the room.Bought a fan at the grocery for 15 euro that enabled us to get the room down to 75 degrees per our travel clock thermometer.Every day it was cooler in the hallway than in the room. The staff was either very friendly or completely unfriendly depending on who you got, we just kept on the lookout for Therese who was outstanding and spoke very good english! The lobby was fine and the bar was good when it was open. The area is not historic but the parking fabulous, especially for a large car/van and we never felt unsafe. Large grocery store on site. Not romantic- just a place to sleep. My relatives told me I paid were too much for rooms(3).Breakfast was included; sometimes the breads and pastries were really stale. Eat early as they do run out. Dinner was ok and portions could be shared.Photos were marketing but similar, mine too big to load, sorry.Location good for in and out of City and surrounding areas. We had navigation system which helped.Staff can help with directions and maps.

This hotel is located far from downtown. To access the lobby one has to cross a dirty public parking. Air conditioning in the rooms is programmed from the lobby to stop after à 30-minute working period. When I staid in the hôtel the temperature reached 35°C and I had to energically ask for continous air conditionning in the room. Cooking is rather médiocre.

Very spacious and clean rooms with huge bathroom. Good buffet-breakfast (not just the classic italian "coffe and croiassant") Ideal location with car, easy to find from the highway, (cca. 5 minutes from Verona Est) free parking. Good connections to the center, there is a bus stop 3 minutes from the hotel. (NR.11-12-13) The journey takes about 10 minutes to Piazza Brá, Arena ect. Hardly recommended.

Wonderful hotel and we got a nice room for a bargain. The only problem is the distance with the historical center. 10-15 minutes by bus at 1.00 euro (1.20 if you buy it on the bus, only coins). If you have a car Maxim is the best choice.

Nice, big hotel, ideal for business travelers. The room was huge, bathroom was big as well, breakfast was very good with lots of choices. There is an external not guarded parking area for free or another closed one for some extra euros I guess - never asked. The only disadvantage of this hotel is that it's far from the historic center and you need to have a car to get there. We would go there again.

The staff was miserably rude, dismissive & unhelpful. Other guests commented on the same reception. Guests were a great inconvenience for them. Hotel Maxim is a gorgeous hotel and the price was amazingly low. It is close to the city bus line, which is important since it is virtually impossible to park in the old part of Verona. The Hotel is nice and well kept. The room was a bit noisy as there's a railroad nearby and bells rang in the morning (a church probably?). I was a bit disappointed about the distance betweeen the bed and the bedside table.Had to literally stretch my arm to reach it at night. Downtown isn't too far and I had some difficulties finding the Hotel. On my last trip to Italy i was at 10 different hotels. Overall Maxim was the best hotel i visited and the best value for money. The staff was very welcoming and polite. All of them spoke English! I would definitely stay at that hotel again! There is a Pam supermarket in the same building, so if someone does not want to spend money on restaurant, it's the best solution. The hotel is not in the center, but there is a comfortable bus line just outside the hotel. I had a car, so that was not an issue. The parking was free. I really recommend this hotel :-)

The hotel was excellent, rooms fine and up to expectations. The only disadvantage was that it was indicated on the website that the hotel was located 1 km from the Arena in Verona, which was what we wanted: only about 15 minutes walking. The truth was that the walk from the hotel to the Arena took about 45 minutes of firm walking! This was a big problem, when we could not get a taxi back to the hotel after the performance of the opera Aida on the 9th of July!!! (World Championship Football) Only after many adventures did we reach the hotel at 2.00 a.m., thanks to a very kind Veronese hotel owner.

This hotel was amazing value. The rooms were clean, spacious and had great air con! The rooms had black out blinds which are great if you want a lie in! Although it is 5km from the town centre and train station it is easily accessible with public transport. Buses go every 10 minutes 200m from the hotel! The breakfast was pretty good with a selection of pastries, cakes, cereal, toast, ham and cheeses! Would highly recommend this hotel!

This is the best hotel I stayed in Italy. Not only the price, but also the service I enjoyed. Spacious room, excellent service, brilliant breakfast. One CON is that the location is a little bit out of the city. In the night there will be only one bus per hour to get back to the hotel from city center. Unless you wanna wait or walk back (3 km or so), you have to take a taxi, which will cost ur around 10 euros). One more advice, if you arrive at Verona Porta Nuova (main train station), it's very convenient to take a bus to reach the hotel as the bus stop is only 100 meters away. however, the hotel itself is closer to the minor railway station (Porta vesco) in the map. But please do not get off from the minor station, as it will take you at least half an hour to drag your luggage to the hotel. Do get off at the main trainstation, and take a bus (1 euro for single ride).

This was a great place to stay for the money. We actually wished we had stayed in Verona and at the Maxim longer. They were very accomodating.

The issue is the location - it's much further than 1km away from the centre and taxi's are difficult to get. We had over an 1hr wait in the centre to get home at night on a Saturday night). You have a choice of a taxi (11euros and have to wait for ages) verses a good 40+ minute walk. Given that the attractions are in the centre of Verona - it was a pain to get in and out of town.

Very fine hotel. Located close to Verona with good parking and easy access to the city. Excellent breakfast. Surroundings are a bit spare - apartment buildings.

The bathroom was huge! Excellent breakfast buffet, although a little crowded. We also ate dinner in the restaurant, and it was very good, and not busy at all.
