too small room in relation to the price. one window only, which we could not open first, no aircon, heating only - and warm it was due to the closed window... well located for trips in Verona or surrounding by foot or by car, breakfast only, no meals, no drinks. return only if better rooms offered,

perfetto per ogni esigenza, perchè vicino al centro, stazione e fiera.Un pò rumoroso per essere un 4 stelle,si sentivano voci dalle altre stanze.però ci ritornerei.

The room we were given was way too hot. They said they'd turn the heating down and it would take 10 minutes or so or we could take another room. We opted to stay as our 6 year old had just gone to bed. It was 9PM. But it just got unbearably hot, 35 to 40 degrees C. When we called back 10 minutes later to ask to move, the person on duty said everyone had gone home and he was the only one on duty and he couldn't move from his desk!!!! This is at 9.15pm! He was unhelpful and argumentative. We packed everything up and sat in the foyer. Finally he called someone else to help and they moved us to the 2nd floor. It was still hot but just bearable.

This is a very modern looking hotel with large rooms and cable tv (which only has news channels in English). The room design is a bit strage with the beds (we were in a twin room) not hard against the head board but about a bedside table width away - impossible to sit up in bed to watch telly! The cheese shop close by has wonderful meals but is expensive. The hotel is well placed close to the railway and an easy walk to the Arena. Breakfast was good.

It´s a nice and big hotel quite in the center of Verona. The price was excellent for a room for three persons. It was a low season price. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel´s furniture was built in the 80´s but in a good condition.

I spent the new year with my husband in this hotel. We asked for a double room en suite with king size bed. We were given a big room in the front of the hotel with 2 single beds joined together. The beds were about 4 foot from the headboard, almost in the middle of the floor with a bed size table behind the bed. The room was smokey in smell. We requested a change of room and the following morning we were moved to the back of the hotel with a proper double bed and there was no problem. Very clean and no smoke smell even though there is supposed to be a non smoking policy in the hotel. As the floors are wooden in each room, there is a lot of noise when the cleaning staff start cleaning the rooms which is a pity. The hotel is very clean and the staff are lovely. Pity the hotel doesn't offer a restaurant facility. Location perfect. 5 minute walk to both the arena where there is many restaurants and 5 minute walk to the train station. Would go back to hotel again. Even if you end up in the front of the hotel, it is totally sound proof. Therefore, not a problem.

Very nice hotel for the money they ask. We arrive quite late but everything was excellent. Nice breakfast, good location - just 5 min from old town. Despite some problems with heating in one room, I recommend this hotel.

The best of this hotel is its location, very close to the old Verona (10 minuts walking). It's also far away enough to give a good price for a 4 star hotel. Another advantage is that it has its own parking, very useful when travelling by car. What was not according to the rest of the hotel's staff was the persons working at the restaurant showing a total unwelcoming attitude towards the customers.

the hotel brochure says that this hotel has been recently renovated. however, this brochure must have been printed in 1988 in that case. the only modern item in our room was the lcd tv. the wallpaper was tired and dated, and indeed coming away from the wall in some places and the room had a usty smell like it had not been used in a while where we fisrts arrived. however, the room was clean (and kept clean) so i cannot complain about that. for service, the only time i spoke to an employee of a hotel was at check in and check out, so i can't comment. i did try to buy a drink from the bar one afternoon, but after ringing the bell and standing there for 5 minutes i gave up as there was no one on duty. breakfast was the standard self serive affair continental style, but nothing to shout about. price wise, it was cheap(ish). my first day was at least twice the price of my other 2 days as unfortunately for me there was a concert on in the arena (michael bolton i think :-)) which meant that the hotel must have hiked its prices, although it seemed fairly empty to me. the location is not bad. it is about a 5 minute walk to the arena, but there is nothing nearer the hotel that warrants anything of note. would i stay here again...... no. i had to book this hotel last minute via venere, and the choice was very limited, which is why i ended up with it, but next time in verona i would stay somewhere else. as for verona.... nice place to stay for a couple of days max. strangely, i especially like the verona pavements made of limestone... very smooth under foot!

Hotel Giberti was ideally located for us, halfway between the station and the centre. It was quiet, spacious and well appointed. You could borrow bikes to ride around the city, including the old walls - a good way to get your bearings and not too strenuous. Internet was available for a modest fee. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Good value for a 4* hotel.

We had booked one double and one triple room and our 3 teenage boys were initially a bit dismayed to find that the triple room consisted of a double bed and a single but then realised it was really two singles put together and it was then no drama. The hotel is well located an easy walk pulling luggage from the railway station and also in to the city centre. The rooms were a bit too hot and we had to sleep with a window open. Laundry was outrageously expensive. We loved our first visit to Verona and would consider staying at the Giberti again.

We had to go through a long and exhausting struggle to get the room we booked in this hotel. When we first checked in, the hotel receptionist had assigned a twin room for us although we booked a double. We only found out once we got to the room. We called the reception to tell her the mistake, but found out it was deliberate - she said she knew we booked a double, but she thought we really wanted a twin room. We pointed out that the whole point of booking is to ensure we get what we want - a double room not whatever they decide to give us. She responded repeatedly she couldn’t do anything about it, there was no other room left, and we should stop arguing with her. That made us really angry. So we asked to speak to the manager to give us a heavy discount on the room, because we weren't satisfied with the room and the service. At this point, she suddenly produced a double room in a second. What we don't understand is why we had to fight so hard for a room we booked in advance. Is this the entertainment that this hotel receptionist gets from hotel guests by not giving what they want to see who will take the abuse? At the end we got the room we booked, but the long and exhausting struggle was so unnecessary, and is definitely not what you want after a long day travel. At no point did anyone from the hotel apologize for the inconvenience or error. The rest of the experience at the hotel was actually fine, but this initial problem left such a bad taste that it overshadowed everything else. When there are problems to be addressed you get to see the real character of a hotel, and in this case it was not a good one.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here and will probably use this hotel regularly for our Verona visits. Friendly competent staff, wide choice of buffet breakfast, nice "open" environment. Maybe the fact we live in Italy and speak the language helped, but I repeat, we enjoyed our brief stay here.

The hotel enjoys an excellent location. It is half way between the train station and the Arena (Old Town). The area in which the hotel is located is very peaceful yet is only 10 miutes by foot from the Roman Arena and other sights. The choice for breakfast was far superior than many other hotels I have stayed in. There was a good mix of old and young people staying at the hotel. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I am in Verona.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The only minus was the breakfast. When got there at 9.00 some items, such as croissants, had finished and the staff did not replace them. That was really bad. Apart from that, we had a good time there.

This being our fourth trip to Italy, we were disappointed with responses from one of the male front desk personnel. When asked about tours, restaurants and other attractions in Verona, he simply responded that there is one (a restaurant) around the corner -- which by the way was very good. The only way we found out about the numerous restaurants, stores, trattorias, cafes, etc. was to walk to the Arena. He appeared very reluctant to provide tourist information. It has been our experience with various hotels in Italy that front desk personnel will go out of their way to recommend and make reservations for restraurants as well as arrangements for tours, etc. This hotel is the first and only one in Italy that recommended we contact the "I" (tourist information bureau) to get information.

None of the 7 or so staff sitting behind reception desk looked like they were interested in us when we arrived. Bar closed before 10.30 one night. Kept awake until 12.30 and woken at 7.00 by noise from other rooms on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. Found it overpriced and impersonal

The Giberti was the best hotel we stayed at. Nice sized rooms, large bathroom. The only thing that was not great was the elevators...they were quite small, but hey I never stayed in a hotel for the elevator and at least they had one..some of the other hotels we stayed at we had to lug our luggage up 4 flights of stairs!

Excellent hotel. Outside of the old city center - but only a 10 - 15 minute pleasant walk to the Arena - which is the beginning of the old city center. Spacious garage is a big advantage. It's not free as one comment reads, but not expensive either. If you're arriving by car the hotel is very well indicated by signs once you get into the city.

Well, here goes: I've stayed in a few hotels so far and I dare say that this one was by far the best hotel ever. The staff was very friendly and professional; I'd say that they would actually go the extra mile for their guests. The rooms are very nice and clean, quite luxuriously furnished (the bathrooms even more so) - and since our room was in the 5th floor we had a nice view as well. The price - as quoted by the Venere.com - was the actual price and parking in the garage was free. The breakfast was simply great - nothing more to add. All in all, we had a great stay in this hotel and will most propably return there when we're in Verona again. I would also like to point out that the receptionist shook my hand upon departure - something I've never experienced so far.

We stayed on a double room and a triple room. The rooms were very spacious, and the hotel location plus the fact that it has it's own parking garage (for a fee) are a big plus if you're travelling by car. Breakfast was fine, and the historic area is about 7 minutes away by foot. Verona is really nice.
