This was our sixth stay at the Hotel Europa. The hotel is in excellent location if you are attending a concert or an opera at the Arena. The rooms are spacious and the air conditioning and the breakfast are adequate. We had not been back to Verona for a number of years, and the hotel decor could now do with a bit of refurbishment but the rooms are clean. The price for the rooms is a bit on the high side for the level of decor and furnishings, however, you are paying for being in close proximity to Piazza Bra and the Arena. The staff are helpful, and printed of our boarding cards for our return flights, and returned a shirt to us I had left behind. We would stay again if we were attending an event in the Arena.

Fabulous location just off the main square; rooms are comfortable although quite small with limited space for suitcases. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to others and would stay again on another visit to Verona.

The hotel lies on a perfect spot 1 min. walking to the arena and the adjacent park. My room was very small, just as the bathroom, but absolutely clean. Hotel staff was very kind and helpfull. There is some street noise, also in the early morning, but from my point of view that's pretty common with a stay in a city centre. The price is rather high for such a small room. Liked my stay nevertheless. Verona is one of my favourite cities.

This was the second time I have stayed at the Europa. The hotel has an excellent location. The rooms are not spacious but contain everything you need; and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is execellent. The staff on the reception helpful.

The hotel is wonderfully located for exploring Verona. We found it to be comfortable, clean and well run. We would definitely book it again on a return trip to Verona.

Hotel is in an excellent location for the arena and within walking distance (15mins) of all of the key attractions. A selection of bars / restaurants can be found nearby, and although the room rate is perhaps on the high side, the breakfast buffet in part compensates for the cost. Certainly would use the hotel again.

The Europa is ok, this was the second time we stayed there. The main reason we chose it this time was because it has a garage and we had driven over to Italy so needed somewhere to park the car (although this did cost an extra 15 euros a night). The hotel is in an excellent location near piazza bra but is nothing special, I think you would be able to get better hotels for the price. However, it is clean and is a decent hotel. If you don't speak any Italian the staff all speak English but are not particularly friendly. There was not much choice for breakfast. I lived in Verona for a year a few years ago and we went back to visit. It is an interesting city but you get bored after a couple of days. It's probably better for a day trip. I would definitely recommend a visit to the renaissance garden, Giardino Giusti.

A perfectly located, well run, welcoming hotel. Only one flaw. A young girl sitting at the desk appeared to have no duties and worse, no smile. what was she doing there?

Hotel was clean and the location was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was not very big but was clean and comfortable with internet access, a mini bar and a good sized bathroom. Would definetly stay again as the location of the hotel is excellent, just round the corner from the Arena.

The location of this hotel is brilliant for the Arena, bars and town centre. Also on the right side of town for the station (a 15-20 minute walk). I was unsure about this hotel as it had mixed reviews but in fairness, all hotels in Verona other than those you pay a lot of money for have mixed reviews. We had a great room on the top floor overlooking the front with a small balcony. The rooms are small but sufficient as a base and they are extremely clean. Breakfast was basic but sufficient with plenty of choice. There are 2 cafe/bars right outside the hotel which are handy and nice atmosphere (particularly the one to the right of the hotel entrance) and it is not too noisy as you tend to need your window shut to get have the air conditioning on (which is a saving grace in the temperatures we experienced). The only downside to this hotel, if there is one, is that the men on reception do not go out of their way to talk to you or do something for you. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and we will be going back again next year as it's location is superb as opposed to a lot that appear to be out of the town and a taxi ride away. Moneywise it is probably more than you would expect to pay for the room but it is it's location that I feel you are paying for.

I had a great experience: large, clean rooms with all the amenities Americans are used to, but which are not always standard in Italy (flat screen tv, ac, mini bar). The location is fantastic: literally 2 minute walk from Piazza Bra and the Arena. My only complaint is that they raise the prices a lot on opera and especially weekend nights, but that is true throughout Verona, and this was actually the best deal I found for a 3 star hotel.

This turned out to be a decent hotel right in the center of Verona. All the sights were accessible on foot. There was a nice choice for breakfast, the room was quiet and clean. Although the bed might be on the small side for taller people (it was fine for me I'm about 5 foot 9). The rooms have been recently done up and look very well. I'd definitley recommend it and if I was returning to Verona I'd probably stay there again.

Although there was scaffolding at the side of the building it was not over noisy. One of the staff could not have been more helpful and he also gave us very good recommendations of restuarants near to the hotel. He made us feel very welcome which helped to make our stay very enjpyable. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends.

Excellent location within the walled town & easy walk to all sights. Room space tight, but very clean with modern en-suite. Quiet too. Verona feels safe & comfortable. No tea making in room but we preferred the late night cafe literally on the doorstep & the many restaurants a couple of minutes away.

Our room was offered to us as being quiet. This was the positive aspect but the down side was it had a dismal view out of the window. Maybe some bright paint and or murals used on the outside walls of the “shaft” would jolly this up a bit? What we really appreciated about the hotel was that when we checked in at 9.00am they did not quibble and allowed us immediate occupation of our room without us asking. That is despite the written statement that occupation was allowed much later. This was welcome after a grueling overnight train journey. The breakfasts were very good with a good variety of fruit/s and cereals. We would definitely stay in this hotel again given its proximity to everything.

We stayed 8 nights. Slight blot on standard - there was no proper shower only a poor spray for washing hair which we had to use as a sort of shower. Filling of bath would have taken too long as water did not flow from tap with much power. Recommendation below will be invalid if nothing is done about shower and flow of water.

The first advantage is that the hotel is very well located, a few steps away from the famous Arena. Breakfast was delicious and fresh (fruits and breadrolls) and staff were agreeable. We (2 friends) stayed there for one night only and therefore didn't care about the spaciousness of our room very much, but if we had had to stay longer, we would definitely have required a larger one. Eventually, we thougt that the price was overrated for a 3 stars hotel "only" (due to season and location of course). Overall, it was a nice hotel that I would recommend if you are not travelling on a budget!

Stayed for one night. The hotel was not very friendly (neither the building nor the employees). The bed was slanted, but couldn't be fixed and no other non-smoking rooms were available. Our "non-smoking" room reeked of air freshener. The room was the least comfortable of any 3 star hotel we stayed at while in Italy. The room was on the small side and poorly laid out. Much darker and less comfortable than the pictures on this site would lead you to believe. The location was excellent. But I definitely didn't feel like this hotel was worth 170 euros/night.

The "service staff" was very haughty and unhelpful, particularly at the front desk. It was 38°C and the air conditioning did not work. There was no refund for the inconvenience, not even an apology, and several elderly people who complained were literally barked at in Italian, a language they did not understand but I did, and it was nasty. For the quality, the price was definitely too high. I would not recommend a stay at the Europa under any circumstances. To see the opera, stay further away and take the good bus system.
