poor surroundings, but very close to downtown

This accomodation provides a wonderful price/quality relationship! Located in a quiet street, with a good restaurant/pizzeria nearby, it has very peaceful surroundings. Rooms are broad, clean, and confortable; single beds are almost double; public areas are clean, with a pleasant furniture, and the breakfast room has a nice view of the backyard. Cons: breakfast options are not rich, no fruit and you have to pay for decaf and so on - only thermos with the, coffee and milk available; brioches are very tasty though.

The Hotel is well maintained. Breakfast is limited but ok. Location far from the city center.

I stayed in Verone 1 day. The hotel is too far from the center and you can reach it by car only. In the evining around the hotel only desolation and any resturant was open. The breakfast has been terrible, with few and old croissaint. Finally I think 4 stars and in consequence the price are unreasonable. However Verona is a wonderful and hospitality city.

This was our third visit to Verona and the Hotel Corte Ongaro. We stayed for 5 nights and found the hotel very satisfactory. We especially enjoyed breakfast and the air-conditioning. The staff were very helpful and friendly. To get to the historical centre you have to take a local bus but the journey takes less than 10 minutes.

Lovely little hotel. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Location not great but very easy to get taxis. Excellent value for money. Would definitely use the hotel again if ever going back to Verona

I recommend Corte Ongaro Hotel. Very nice and intimate hotel. Clean and comfortable. Nice and efficient staff, friendly and professional at the same time. Easy to the center (3 stops by bus). Confortable free garage for the car. The best thing to do is have breakfast in the garden surrounded by flowers. It does not seem to be in the city although it is ten minutes far from the center. I had a very good journey. I'll definitely come again. IS

It was a really nice place to stay. Riding the bus was a little difficult, directions were not very good. The breakfast was very good. We really enjoyed Verona.

The hotel was easy to reach, although a bit outside the central area of Verona. For those travelling by car it's easier, but there are also buses nearby. The hotel also has a garage where you can leave your car free of charge. The breakfast could have been more varied, there were no fruits, very limited selection of cheese etc. But the view of the garden and the nice atmosphere somehow compensate. The rooms are large and the location quiet. Would certainly recommend.

Great value for money. Stayed in room 302 which was a mini-appartment on top floor, so separate living room and bedroom with big balcony. Nice breakfast included in price in dining room. Garage under hotel but no problem parking on the street. Easy to find as near exhibition centre. Slightly too far to walk into Verona but not a problem...

Very nice and simple hotel. About a 12 E cab ride into the city but there are buses as well, right in front of the hotel. The breakfast wasn't great but the room was nice. A good value.

We were hoping for the opportunity to relax in Verona after a hectic time exploring Italy, and the Hotel Corte Ongaro met these expectations perfectly. We found the atmosphere ideal for anybody looking for a comfortable place to settle down and relax in a luxurious atmosphere. Breakfast is a highlight of a stay at the hotel, with a wide range available, and a great environment in which to sit down and start the day. All in all, the Hotel Corte Ongaro is a highly recommended venue for those wishing to enjoy Verona whilst remaining a little away from the ongoing bustle of the old town.

Nice hotel, a little too far from the city center. If you plan to stay in the center past 21:00 you problably will need a taxi, it will be very difficult to get a bus.

It was a very good choice and we enjoyed our stay. There are two things that we were disappointed with: 1. On the web, it says it is close to the center, when we reached it was close to a street called "Centro" 2. When we arrived and asked about public transportation to the centre, we have been told about a bus which was coming in few minutes, we waited for a whole hour. It was not the mistake of the receptionist, but later on, we found out that we could have driven our cars very close to the centre and parked there. I wish we have been told then. I wish it had swings and slides for children. We enjoyed our stay and do not regret it Thanks Ghada Anderson

Consigliatissimo...

We spent 3 nights at this lovely hotel, right off the centre of Verona. The connection from the hotel to the city centre is convenient, but the frequency (at this moment every half hour)of buses can be improved in the future. The room was impaccably clean and spacious. The breakfast could have started a bit earlier than 8:00, which is pretty late for guests who like to make the maximum out of their day. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the internet corner. The restaurant across the street from the hotel was a pleasant surprise. We returned the second evening because of the excellent cooking.

Nettes Hotel.Freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter in der Rezeption. Großes Zimmer, allerdings schlecht schallisolierte Tür.Gutes Frühstücksbuffet. Garten wenig gepflegt.

I loved Verona and the Hotel made the stay even more enjoyable - the air conditioning was a godsend! The only thing that disappointed me was the description of the location - it was described as close to the train station and a short walk from the city centre, when in fact it was a 1km walk from the trainstation and the same again to the town centre - this should be clearer on the hotel information. The hotel itself was comfortabl, clean and great valure for money and notwithstanding the long walk, I would stay there again.

I was travelling with my family and we were all really impressed with the quality and value of this hotel. Although it was some distance from the historical centre of Verona the bus service was very reliable and we never had any problems with it. The staff were very friendly and the buffet breakfast was more than adequate. We wil definitely return soon.

The first problem was finding the hotel. Possible the worst directions since Lord Raglan sent the 600 directly down the valley towards the Russian guns. That said, the staff did their best to provide directions by telephone. The double room we had booked turned out to be a twin. We asked to be moved rooms but were told that there were no doubles. Fortunately, we were only using as stopover for a single night. The staff were very pleasant and friendly.

What a find! This was the best hotel we stayed at in Italy. The staff made you feel important and they could not have been more helpful. A wonderful experience. There is nothing we could say that was negative about the experience at Hotel Corte Ongaro. I would love to keep this place a secret. Very highly recommended. We will certainly stay here again. Having never been to Verona we chose the Corte Ongaro on quality and price per the website. The location directions were lacking in that we were told to take the bus to "about 4 stops" , we did and ended up about 8 blocks from the hotel, and not being bilingual had difficulty getting directions to walk there plus hauling our luggage in 34 degree heat. The next day we realized the stop was the 2nd after the train station and much easier with a 2 block walk. Overall, great hotel, clean, quiet, and well priced.

Corte Ongaro is a pleasant hotel south of the main Verona tourist destinations. The neighborhood is reasonably nice and there is a nice restaurant across the street. All three staff people we dealt with were EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The rooms were large, sensible, and very comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful. It looked like a good place to stay for multiple nights, especially for business trips. I was very satisfied.

The room was good value for money and having complementary parking was a bonus. It is a little out of town and you have to either drive or catch a bus/taxi to the old centre. However, the neighbourhood was pleasant. This hotel suited our needs as 1 night stopover.
