Hotel was OK and clean. But atmosphere was somewhat musty. On the website no information was given on what to do with your car when arriving. In the proximity of the hotel their was no parking space available, and an active police force was swerming around the area to ticket false parked cars. Upon checking in, the assistance to bring you to the hotel's parking was fine. (off-season) price was fair.

This is a first rate hotel, with first rate service and first rate location in the heart of "old Verona". I would highly recommend this hotel. Directions to the hotel could be more detailed in print, however without a GPS we found it by following the hotel signs that are posted thruout the centre of town.

This was my first time in verona and I had a very pleasant stay. The staff in the hotel were very kind to us helping with the reservations for restaurants. I would suggest this hotel if you are attending the Arena beacuse it´s just a few steps far.

Overall good. Breakfast was good and fresh. The parking garage is a must in this city as street parking is not available. You will need to allow a little extra time to get the car as it is in a locked garage, but from a security perspective that is good too. If you don't like stairs, dont go on the 'first' floor as you will have to drag your luggage up about 20 stairs or could have the bell captain help. Otherwise the elevator goes to the rest of the floors. Would stay here again due to great location just around the corner from the Piazza Bra and Arena.

I am a very demanding traveler! I do recommand it to all those Italian and foreign travelers who are looking for a convenient, value-worth, and somewhat elegant hotel in Verona ... just 100 feet from the Arena!

Very high level, "charme", courtesy, in the middle of historical area. Do not trust navigators to reach it by car, ask for instructions to the hotel.

An ideal, quiet location a stroll from all the stuff you want to see. Most of the staff on reception friendly and pleasant. The room was a good size, sheets and towels changed daily. Buffet breakfast was good, surprisingly the coffee was pretty tepid and ordinary for Italy. We had a great time in Verona and the hotel was a peaceful pleasant place to return to.

I stayed two nights at a single room #26. The room was spacious, quiet and has a bath tub so two days at this hotel were very comfortable. The breakfast was good too.

Excellent location in relation to the Arena, which is why I selected this hotel as I was attending the opera, and it finishes so late. It is only about a 3 min walk back Unfortunately I did not reserve a parking space, and one was not available which made it a little more inconvenient. I was able however to drop off luggage and pick up from front of hotel. Undercover parking is available a bit further afield but be aware you have to leave your car keys in the vehicle.

Stayed only one night. Perfect for attending the performance in the arena at night. A good centre of city hotel for visiting Verona. A bit old-fashioned in the decoration. Impersonal welcome (not warm).

We stayed in one of the hotel suites. On arrival my wife and I were met by happy and cheerful staff and shown directly to our room by the porter. The room was quiet and clean our only little dislike was that you could not really see out of the window (possibly to hide the fact that we were at the back of the hotel). The breakfast was very good with very polite staff serving us our morning beverages. Location of the hotel was great a couple of minutes walk to Piazza Bra - a little further to walk (good 20 minutes) from the main train station, would possible recommend a cab for older travellers. Plenty of restaurants nearby and lots to see and do, including lots of shopping for the ladies. I would recommend this hotel to any traveller and would stay again if we decided to return for another short break in future.

Our experience at the Colomba d'Oro was wonderful. We were greeted quickly and the staff attended quickly to luggage and passport detail. We drove to the hotel and were provided protected parking on short notice. All amenities were exceptional. The location was 150 yards from the Piazza and the Arena! I left a very sentimental piece of jewelry in the room by mistake on departure and realized it 2 days later and 100s of miles away. The staff found it. GM Alberto Tapparini saw to its safe return to Lutz Fla USA! The Colomba d'Oro affirmed our entire Italy experience with the warmth, honesty and integrity of the people we met along the way. Thanks to all at Colomba d'Oro. You will have a wonderful experience in Verona when you stay at the Colomba d'Oro

Well located just a block from the Arena and main Piazza. Hotel appeared clean, efficient, and well run. Private rooms were appropriately understated from a decor perspective compared to the public areas, but had all the amenities desired, and were a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle outside on the street. The a.m. breakfast was quite nice.

As with most Italian hotels, I think they need a lot of modernization. The rooms were terribly old-fashioned and also the breakfast room. You cannot name this style antique, which would be nice, but it refers probably to the mid 20th century. The bathrooms on the other side were very nice, so they made a start already. The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff is very nice and helpful.

Lovely hotel, close to everything. Staff was not as welcoming as some of the other properties I stayed in, but they were nice nonetheless. I would stay here again.

For many people, the Columba d'Oro would be a great hotel - very clean, extremely convenient with a friendly lobby and nice staff. For my wife and me, we found a very clean hotel with perfect, seemingly new, bathrooms and a comfortable bed, satellite TV and stocked mini bar. What we didn't care for was the decor which we found to be just slightly over the top. My recollection is lots of gold paint and mirrored surfaces (I presume the d'Oro in the name). The hotel was quite nice, just not our style. We stayed here for one night only - our last night in Italy, with an early flight out in the morning. We departed before breakfast was served so we did not have a chance to sample the included meal. The hotel was accomodating in arranging a wake up call and a taxi - which was already waiting for us at the front door when we arrived to check out. Service was quite nice. If you are looking for something very modern, I think this hotel would suit you very well. If you want a little more rustic or "old Verona", then this hotel may not be right for you. Please don't misunderstand - this hotel was perfectly fine, just that based on our style-desires we would not put it at the top of our list next time (it wouldn't be at the bottom ether).

One of several hotels right in the old city, this is something of a gem: one minute's walk and you are standing on the central square in front of the Roman arena. Finding it by car is a bit of a challenge (as others have suggested) but once you do, check in and then have the bellhop show you where to park: it's in a nearby underground garage guarded by three locked gates (we guess they want to make certain none of their guests cars get tampered with!). There is an antique feel about the whole place, with a lot of guilt surfaces in the lobby and mirrors in the hallways. We had a nice little terrace of our own overlooking the entrance, but at night the sound of passing Vespas was somewhat of a bother. No broadband internet is available; the staff can direct you to a nearby net café which is not too expensive, however.

This is a great hotel in a great location. As a matter of fact the location is better than that indicated by the web site. By European standards the room was large and comfortable. The amenities were as indicated. The breakfast was very good. The staff was considerate, professional and courteous. The hotel is a minute walk to the arena. Lots of great rerstaurants nearby as well as sight seeing tours, shopping, etc. Bottom line this is the hotel to stay in while enjoying all that Verona as to offer.

Pro A fine not very large hotel with a warm, 19th century ambience of the used materials and colors, a beautifull and complete bathroom witk marmor clothing, bath, toilet and bidet. Staff is nice and efficient. Breakfast was a buffet with much of the ingredients one could expect. Con The noise from te hallways beside the room was should be much better isolated

I highly recommend this hotel--we started out trip with it, and thought it set out a high standard. The only difficulty was finding it since we were new to driving in Italy and locating street signs etc. But the staff was exceptional and the room super clean and spacious. A value and a pleasure! We will stay there on our next visit.

I was very pleased with my room. The service crafts were very friendly. I had to go just some seconds to the Arena and the shopping possibilities. All people were very friendly. All together I would say that I have thought to stay at Verona and not to return to Germany. Thank you very much.

The room maid/cleaning staff were excellent and we were impressed by the cleanliness and order of the rooms! The front desk staff on arriving was excellent but changed the next day for the rest of our stay and this front desk person was unhelpful. Expect advice on buses to go places. places to see, etc but not knowledgeable nor willing to get info. DO NOT bring a car to this hotel - advertising about parking is misleading at best. Parking close by is in special "color marked" areas and are always (repeat always full) therefore must use a pay parking lot that is 1 km away but to drive back to the hotel you have to take a very circuitous route through very, narrow streets that are often congested (plan on 10 - 15 minute drive from parking to hotel). We would stay again but only if we came in a taxi and doing things local around hotel.

Seems there is bad communication btw. you and the hotel. May 3 I sent an e-mail to you to modify my reservation. 2 days later I got your answer, that I have to cancle and to renew the reservation. Because under time pressure I only canceled and made my modified reservation direct with the hotel. When checking in on May 21 the hotel was not informed by you about my - early enough - cancellation.
