The room was noicy due to works in the roads close to the hotel. Too small space for a double bed.

A small, family-owned hotel on the first floor without a lift, but the owner carried our bags up. An amazingly good breakfast in a very small kitchen/breakfast room. Beautiful room, spotlessly clean. Situated in the centre of Verona, just a few steps frome the Arena, the Castle etc.

The location was perfect for walking distance to the train and many of the places we wanted to visit on foot. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff was respectful and the breakfast was decent. perfect for an overnight visit.

The location is the best thing about this hotel as it really is a 5 minute walk to the Arena - perfect for me, travelling with a 6 year old. The hotel is good but the rooms are small, you couldn't swing a cat in the breakfast room but the city is so beautiful you're not going to spend much time in the hotel anyway so who cares?

Small rooms but sufficient for a short stay like ours. Cheap sollution for parking and not far to go. Very central but still in a calm area.

Just as we expected we were given a warm welcome and immediately and well looked after - as I had to walk on crutches for the time being, we were offered a room with fewer steps to reach than the one originally reserved. We were also given useful advice as to how to reach the sights more comfortably, e.g. the arena. The friendly atmosphere of a small place run by a family makes you feel at home even if you only stay for a day or two!

The staff was excellent. They were very helpful. Our room was extremely noisy as it overlooked the busy street. Good value for the price. Excellent location.

Al Castello was a cozy place with friendly, personable staff. We were simply looking for a place to rest our heads for a night before spending one day touring the city and heading home. We took our GPS and walked to the hotel from the train station. It took about 20 minutes. The hotel entrance is off a small alley. There is a sign, but it probably would have been much harder to find without the GPS to confirm our location. Breakfast (included) was a continental buffet complete with fresh fruit and yogurt. We couldn't leave our bags at the hotel, but were able to check them at the train station for only a few Euro.

No quite room. No car park as indicated, the hotel is in a narrow street without car access. The car park is 10 minutes on foot (under the rain with luggage) = not convenient at all. I understand that during fair it is difficult, but I was mislead in the choice!

Everyone was lovely and very accomodating. Was only in Verona for 1 night but would definitely recommend this Hotel. It is very cute and they have paid attention to the decour detail. there is a musty smell when you enter the building but as soon as you are on the first floor of the hotel, there is no smell

Great location close to everything worth seeing Helpful, friendly staff. Ideal if you're looking for a small, family run hotel

The hotel weren't sure whether we had a booking when we arrived, which was a bit scary for while. But everything turned out ok. The rooms were basic and clean but directly on the road so quite noisy. Breakfast was a bit of a weird experience as the tables were so close together and the staff were just a bit odd! The location was brilliant so if you're just looking for somewhere that's reasonably priced and basic then it's fine.

We stayed only one night (Oct 10,2007), but would certainly return and do recommend to others. The room was very clean as was the ensuite bathroom. The breakfast was very good although crowded. We drove, so we had to drop luggage and park elsewhere, but the staff directed us to extremely cheap parking just outside the centro. Our room was just off the breakfast room, but they have a 'sound barrier' door to block the noise which worked very well. The staff was friendly and helpful. None of accomodations were on the ground floor, but the stairs were easily navigated. An excellent value for the cost, and a great location for both the arena and the castle, and for exploring the old city.

This hotel was much like sharing a room in someone's apartment, with a bathroom. The breakfast was fairly good, but so were most breakfasts in Italy. The gentleman that was present at breakfast was kind and helpful. Although Verona is a pretty city, if this is what to expect of a hotel here, at this price, I would bypass the city as a stop and spend your money in a city like Bolzano (very worthwhile!)

PROS: - Location: Exactly between Castelvecchio and the Arena (Piazza Bra). - Service: Family runned hotel that treats you like family the moment you cross the door. - Rooms: Very clean, well sized confortable accomodations. Our room had a fantastic view. - Value: Well worth the rate for their service and location. CONS (no real big issues): - No lift: Have to climb about 20 stairs to get to the hotel. If you have a physical impediment or you are older, I don't recommend this hotel for you. If not, it's no biggie.. don't be lazy!!! - Public areas: No lobby. The office is the breakfast room (which is quite small) and the reception all in one. Never the less is just right to serve the 15 - 20 rooms they have. Part of the family feel-like ambience. - No near parking. If you travell by car, park your car in Piazzetta Castelvechio right across the street while you unload your stuff and do the check in. Go back to your car to drive it to the parking lot which is situated on the other side of the river near Piazza Arsenale (they will give you detail directions). Walk back thruogh the beautiful Ponte Scaligero and the Castelvecchio. I would rather stay near Piazza delle Erbe or Via Mazzini in my next trip to Verona. But there is NO way to find a 100-150 euros hotel with similar service, location and accomodations like Al Castello anywhere near Citta Antica. It is really a good find. Would stay again if I have a similar budget. Enjoy Verona. One of the best cities in Italia. Stay at least 2 nights. EPM Mexico.

Great little hotel, ideally located on a quiet side street in the heart of Verona. Staff were extremely friendly, and our room was fantastic - small balcony with view over the castle, v spacious with large double bed, air con, tv, lovely en-suite. A very relaxing and enjoyable place to stay.

Very good location with all major sights within easy walking distance, pedestrian area basically starts from the hotel. Very friendly service and decent breakfast. Room was clean although pretty small. However, bathroom was relatively spacious and in excellent condition. Excellent price/quality/location combination for Verona.

The central location and an undoubtedly clean environment are this hotel's strong points. However, the room we were given was little bigger than the bed and the door gave directly onto the breakfast room: this lack of privacy was very annoying. The breakfast itself was nothing short of horrible. Definitely overpriced.

A hotel for all. Lovely small family run place, in fantastic location. Beautiful rooms/bathrooms, comfy beds. Best value out of all the other hotels on offer, as these were the same price per room, per night but yet were no-where near as centrally located. Would recommend to everyone, and would definitely stay here again.

The staff at Al Castello could not have been more welcoming, helpful and gracious and the location was ideal for a tourist visit. Our room was beautifully decorated and looked fresh and new - perhaps recently renovated. The included breakfast was above average for a hotel of this nature. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
