Wow! One of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in. The location in Verona is perfect: we took the bus from the airport then walked the rest of the way along beautiful Via Mazzini. The front desk staff were courteous, helpful, and cheerful, with excellent skills in multiple languages. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed with interesting furniture and lots of storage space. Special thanks to Neel, the night-man at the desk: he organized our wakeup call, our very early taxi to the airport, and a picnic breakfast for us. We cannot imagine staying anywhere else in all of Italy. The decor throughout the hotel is stunning: funky meets old world charm.

This is a very nice hotel. The service is friendly and excellent. The breakfasts finitely above the norm - big room, nice assortment of food and like everything else in the hotel, friendly service. Hotel is located haflfway between the piazza bra (arena) and the piazza erbe, so the location could not be better, right off the via Mazzini, which ois the main shopping drag. Only downer is the garage, which is two blocks away. So, you have to walk there and drive back with a hotel staff person to park, which is, in the scheme of things, a minor annyance. This is a very nice hotel,

A truly wonderful hotel, perfectly located for the arena. The room, service, cleanliness, etc., were second to none. The restaurant was particularly good and excellent value for money. My friends and I dined in the hotel both nights as we couldn't fault it. I have stayed in Verona on two other occasions, the last time in a 5* hotel but it did not compare to the Accademia.

Very comfortable hotel, competent staff, quiet rooms despite the central location. Good for families - we had two adjacent rooms with connecting door. Sofa-bed in triple room not particularly comfortable, but OK for a few nights. Breakfast buffet excellent with wide choice. A lovely hotel in a great location. We plan to return.

Our room was ready for us on arrival, even though we were quite early, so we were able to unpack before going out for lunch. We chose the hotel for its proximity to the arena, and the short stroll there and back (with ice cream after the opera!) was perfect. Well placed for evrything you could wish to do in Verona. The staff helped us with directions to restaurants, advice on carparking, provided stamps and posted cards for us. The complimentary iced juices at tea time were particularly welcome in the heat of late August. A wonderful hotel - we will definitely use it again.

We were there for the opera festival and the central location of the hotel could not have been any better. Great value for money given the price we got from Venere. Only thing slightly lacking was a view from our room (brick wall) but the size of the room, recently renovated bathroom and great breakfast selection more than made up for it. Free wireless access also a bonus.

Accademia is a lovely hotel right in the hearth of Verona (2 minutes walk from the Arena, Piazza D'Erbe and Juliet's house). Rooms and public areas are spacious and comfortable with the possible exception of the breakfest room which is a little jaded. Had a couple of lovely meals in Piazza dei Signori( right beside Piazza D'Erbe but quiter and more relaxed)

Our first morning we slept late and didnt wake up until 10:30 so we missed breakfast which was included in our room rate. We called downstairs and asked if they could send us up a cup of coffee. When we checked out they were charging us for a room service breakfast. I argued with them about the charge because the cost of breakfast was in our room rate so they only charged us 8 euro for delivery of the coffee. That amounted to almost $12 US for delivery of coffee. I feel that is very wrong and would not stay in that hotel again for that very reason.

A great central location in beautiful Verona and a great hotel overall. Lots of (italian speaking) staff. Really good breakfast buffet! Certain amount of noise, doors slamming and some noisy staff early in the morning, but overall recommended. The only problem was the collapse of the pound sterling against the Euro which meant it cost more and was not as good value as a result.

This was as close to a Perfect Hotel as one could hope to find. There was no detail that needed improvement, and many subtle ones -- from the warmth of the staff to the choice of colors, lighting, etc. -- that made us feel pampered from the time we entered. We cannot imagine a better base from which to explore a lovely city.

Hotel location is perfect, center of main shopping area. Staff were nice and helpful. However, I was unlucky with a room given to me. It was located somewhere on the 2nd floor in a very far end of a long corridor. It looked inside an internal court, which was tedious and not quite clean. And a smell in the room was not nice. I was there for one night only, so I could stand it.

Nice hotel with friendly staff that I would recommend highly for mature couples or singles. We were given a loft suite, which was a surprise. The room was very nice, but not your ordinary hotel room (see photos). The only issue was the number of stairs we had to climb after getting off the elevator. If you have any problem with stairs ask for an appropriate room. Our view was into building next door, which didn't bother us. If you are driving, there is a public lot in the block prior to the hotel. However it was full when we arrived. We just pulled our car up onto the sidewalk in front of the hotel (a common practice on narrow streets) and let the hotel park it for us. The fee was worth it, not knowing the area.

A sudden change in our travel plans brought us to Verona. We made last minute reservations at Accademia, and it turned out to be the best hotel of our entire trip. We were upgraded to a HUGE room -- luxurious doesn't start to describe it. The hotel is in a perfect location, just off Via Giuseppe Mazzini midway between Piazza Bra and Piazza Vivianni. It is an extremely quiet area, and double pane windows made our room totally quiet. The reception area is large, with several different very nice sitting areas. The breakfast was the best of our entire trip, with a huge selection and top quality. Based on a Venere review from another traveler, we dined at Enoteca Segreta (www.enotecasegreta.com), which is just around the corner from Accademia (though the hotel staff had never heard of it). The food was fabulous.

I think I was attracted to the fact that we are very close to everything and we had a very quiet room, away from the main street. It was our first stop and it has already outruled the other hotels during the rest of our trip. The staff there was very helpful and we could be assured that our request is carried out in timely manner.

This is a great place to stay in Verona. The location is perfect and everything is in easy walking distance. The staff was super nice and we got an upgraded room which was fantastic. It was huge, the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was very nice, and the air-conditioning worked perfectly (which for us was important). Our daughter stayed in a single room which was an adequate size. The breakfast room was a little overcrowded and the tables too close together. The waiters were not especially friendly, although all they had to do was to bring the coffee. The buffet was good and had a nice selection. We had dinner at the hotel one night and it was excellent. The juices and cookies in the lobby area are a nice touch. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and recommend this hotel.

My wife and I are young and athletic, so it is entirely possible our room was provided based on that visual observation - we took the elevator up to the 2nd floor, then down two long hallways which included two sets of stairs. Once we reached our room and opened the door, behind the door we found a staircase that lead up to an "attic" like space above. What we were greeted by when we got to the top of the stairs was fantastic - a very large wood beamed space with a bedroom, living room, sitting room, large bathroom and "common area. Though the hike might not be the best for everyone, we could not have been more pleased with the accomodations. - Spacious, very private and quiet with a very inviting tub in the ultra-clean bathroom. The bar at the hotel was a little dated, but with old Verona out the front door, we didn't need to stop there. Breakfast was perfect - just about anything you could think of, and the staff were quite friendly. This hotel, along with the dinner we had our first night, really set the tone for a marvelous time in Verona. While out in search of dinner, we stumbled across the Enoteca Segreta. Way in the back of a small wine-store front, and down almost in the basement was this fantastic little wine bar with a wonderful menu of accompanying foods. At first, we weren't quite sure they were offering more than just wine, and we are glad we took the time to ask for a menu. Everything that was delivered to our table - from soups to pastas to desserts - was obviously home-made, fresh and well paired with suggested local wines. The couple working there (presumably husband and wife) could not have been more accomodating and the food and wine could not have been better. - I would go out of may way to eat here again...suggest you do too. http://www.enotecasegreta.com

My only comment to the hotel is that their web page should either redirect booking inquiries to venere or make clear that filling out the booking form on the hotel web site does not perform any booking function...trying to book through the accademia web site was very frustrating....also we really enjoyed the hotel's restaurant, and morning breakfast buffet.

We had an excellent experience at the Accademia. The staff is very efficient and friendly. Our room was huge. The bathroom was spacious and included a large walk-in shower. The hotel location is ideal for exploring the old city. If you're traveling by car, the hotel staff will valet park it for you - which is a plus since there is little parking in the old city and the streets are hard to navigate. Amazingly, the hotel rate for parking was less expensive than the rates we found at parking lots outside of the old city.

The Accademia was an excellent choice from all aspects: location (close to the Arena), style of rooms (sober elegance), breakfast (quality, quantity, variety) and competence of personnel (information provided). Although the rate was quite high, you don´t feel ripped off. I strongly recommend this hotel and would go back myself with great pleasure. Very comfortable traditional city centre hotel. Our 'double superior' room was a suite with a separate sitting room and large marble bathroom, and windows opening onto a central well (so no noise). Good modernish solid furniture, slightly suspect colour scheme. Very clean (passed the 'looking under the bed to check we haven't left anything behind' test - a lot don't!).Ideally placed for the sights, and just far enough off the Via Mazzini to avoid the hubbub. Restaurant was closed for Easter when we were there but the three restaurants the hote recommended: the Greppia, Il Cenacolo, and the Bottega del Vino were excellent. Padua only an hour away by train and worth a visit though book for the Scrivegni chapel in advance.

Amazing... Superbe! Vraiment impressionné par la chambre ( pourtant ce n'est pas le premier hotel que je fréquente ). Je recommande!!! Incredible room! Right in the middle of Verona. Nothing tainted our stay.

This was our first visit to Verona, and as it was a present for my wife on her birthday, I wanted everything to be just right! From my first email dealings with the team on reception, booking the Opera, to our last with the porter putting our bags into the car to go back to the airport, the service was first class - nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is ideal for sight-seeing, and it was great to be able to drive right up outside the front door, hand the keys of the hire car to reception and leave them to park it in their garage. Verona is fantastic, and so is this hotel and it's location. We have told all our friends to stay there and we will be going back again. Just make certain that you eat at the 'Ristorante 12 Apostoli' when in Verona - it's only 5 minutes walk from the hotel and it is superb - the hotel even booked our table for us!

What a perfect way to enjoy Verona. Quite pricey, but good value given location and quality of the room. We treated ourselves by staying here, and are glad we did!

L'hotel Accademia est trés bien situé. Bien qu'il soit en plein centre ville, il est trés calme. Le personnel est trés serviable. Les chambres sont trés confortables. Bon et beau buffet du petit déjeuner. Etablissement à recommander.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The room was beautiful and had a wonderful view of the street below. There was some street noise in the room, but it was fine for us being in the heart of the city. The location of the hotel is great. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, it was huge! We will definately come back.

The Hotel Accademia lived up to Venere's representation in every way. The staff was most accommodating and gracious, the room was quite comfortable and the location could not have been more desirable. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer.

We were delighted with our choice of hotel at the accademia. It was a key aspect of the enjoyable stay in Verona. It was our first time in the city and arriving at the Accademia proved to be an excellent start. The central location and welcome we received created an immediate immpression that we were going to enjoy ourselves. We were pleasantly surprised by the space and the decor of our room. The public rooms on the ground floor are comfortable and relaxing, there is a friendly bar and the restaurant is excellent. On the day that the restaurant was shut the reception staff recommeded another excellent restaurant to us. It was so good that we went back before we left. We would gladly re-book at the Accademia.
