The hotel is set in a small village high above the rather undistinguished suburbs of Lecco. While the hotel itself doesn't command a view, there are stunning views of the valley obtainable within minutes' walk. On arrival I was given an attractively furnished apartment in a separate building rather than the single room I had booked so I cannot comment on the hotel rooms. The owners make every effort to make their guests welcome, including a complementary drink on the terrace on arrival. The hotel is in a quiet spot, but it is the quietness of a small village with children, animals etc rather than that of a soundproofed modern hotel. What really amazed me was the food and I feel that the hotel does not market itself well in that regard. I chose it as a base to explore the area because of the economical price. In fact it is not the best base because of the difficulty of getting to Lake Como through the suburban traffic, but is a destination in its own right because of the restful location and the great food. Dining is not cheap but we are talking genuine Michelin star quality food, some of the best I have had in Italy, and I doubt that better food is available at the price anywhere in Northern Italy. The breakfast buffet was equally outstanding. The combination of service, food and surroundings added up to a wonderful stay and I would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday in the area. One note: the hotel is not easy to find and so research the way in before you come. There is also a narrow lane up to the hotel through the village, so more suitable for smaller cars.

A SMALL FAMILY RUN HOTEL IN A DIFFICULT TO ACCESS LOCATION JUST 4KMS FROM THE SUPERB ITALIAN LAKESIE TOWN OF LECCO. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE WAS RIGHT,THE WELCOME,THE ROOM,THE VIEW,CLEANLINESS AND THE RESTURANT MEAL WAS SUPERB AND EXCELLENT VALUE.VIEWS ARE BREATHTAKING AND ITS A TRUE ITALIAN EXPERIENCE. THE FAMILY ARE WONDERFUL.AND WILL TAKE YOU TO THE STATION. GREAT HOTEL, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Hotel was fine, but we changed booking number of people in advance, were given a considerably inferior room (in the attic, with skylights rather than windows - so no view) and charged more per person.

A real gem that was probably beyond expectation. The hotel is in an extremely pretty and quiet location. The staff can not do enough for you. They are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Somewhere to be highly recommended and certainly to return to.

It was a very good hotel experience in a low season period. Don't miss the exit at Lecco or you'll have to pass 25km of tunnels bfore having the possiblity of coming back. PROS: the cachet of the site, the large room, the dedicated service and the breakfast. CONS: hard to find (access is surprisingly narrow - I suggest to put another map on internet NOW), limited parking.
