Typical older European hotel ( US & Oz readers will know what I mean) but clean and very good staff - welcoming, helpful, know many languages .... Extremely well located being on waterfront opposite ferry stop and next to the old town shops etc

We had a large (extremely spacious) quad room which more than met our needs. The breakfast included was by far the best we had throughout Italy. Would definately return again.

Hotel management failed dismally in public relations stakes with me as a non-Italian speaking tourist. Despite parking my car where I was told to by the staff (and in a formal notice on the counter of reception), the car was towed away due to a temporary restriction. The hotel management took no responsibility and said I should have noticed the temporary signs even knowing I did not speak Italian! They offered a token sum (which did not even cover the taxi fare to collect the car) as compensation for a hefty fine.
