Hotel Ancora - Intra, Verbania

Hotel location is excellent. The hotel room was very quiet and very clean. We could sleep without hering background noise. The staff are very friendly and respond instantly to guest queries. Breakfast was good but can be improved by changing menue every few days.

Very nice well located hotel that wants to be a boutique style hotel. Having been in a small family run hotel in Stress for three nights at 70 Euros/night I had high expectations for the Superior Room at 154 euros but give me the cheaper one any time. We requested a room over looking the harbour but the exceptionally busy road and traffic jam meant the windows stayed shut and curtains drawn. Breakfasts were good but again you could see that the hotel was trying to be too 'arty' when we preferred the simple hotels. Breakfast area very busy and very hot! Staff very helpfull, spoke great English. Would I return? No but mainly because when I go to italy I want to try something of rural/family Italy not a hotel that thinks its in Milan or London. If I was staying with business then this would be a great hotel.

Great Hotel very interesting and modern decor. We had a room on the road which was busy but the double glazing was excellent and the compensation was a lake view. Would use again.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Hotel Ancora at the end of June and we were extreemly pleased with the Hotel. We had a room right at the front of the hotel overlooking the road and lake, but once the windows were shut and the air conditioning, on there was no disturbance through noise. All the hotel staff were very helpfull and friendly, and our shameful lack of Italian was no problem. It is in an ideal position for picking up boats and ferrys to get around the lake, and there are plenty of good bars and resteraunts in walking distance of the hotel.

Brilliant hotel, friendly staff made us feel really welcome, great location close to landing stage and restaurants. We had a family room on the top floor at the end of May, very clean and plenty of space. The fruit bowl and free water in the mini bar were a nice touch. Good choice at the buffet breakfast. Our only niggle was the noise from the room next door, tv and conversations could be heard clearly. All in all very good value for money, we would definitely stay there again.

Perfect location close to ferries to visit the islands and surroundings. Excellent room and nice breakfast.

Hotel à recommander, accueil sympa, chambres à la déco au goût peut être un peu discutable mais rénovées et confortables, petit déj pantagrueliques, beaucoup de petites attentions délicates (apéro en libre service le soir par exemple, bref honnête rapport qualité-prix même si ce n'est pas donné dans un coin si touristique !

THis is a very nice hotel and the staff are very helpful and friendly. It was the most expensive hotel we stayed in in our month-long trip in France and Italy, and we certainly found better deals for less money, but we enjoyed our brief stay very much. The breakfast is fantastic and the views are lovely. The room was fairly spacious given that we had 4 people in the room. We were thankful for the air conditioning as it was very warm, and it would have been quite noisy otherwise. I left a battery and charger and adaptor for our camera at the hotel and the staff was immensely helpful. They contacted me immediately to let me know they had found it - even before I contacted them, they packaged it and mailed to me. We received it quickly and in good shape. We were so thankful for their help.

Very comfortable and classy rooms. The woman at the desk, Laura, was very helpful to us in finding a most wonderful local restaurant. The only drawback was the lack of a parking lot nearby. The parking facilities offered by the hotel were several blocks away, difficult to find, a logistical nightmare to actually park and there was a 13 Euro fee for overnight parking.
