Very helpful multilingual staff. Ongoing development work to sea front did not affect our stay. Hotel situated on old town side of the river about ten minutes easy walking distance of new town centre. Fantastic markets, daily for fresh produce and Fridays for clothes, leather goods etc.

Very nice welcome on arrival, hotel modern and bright. Rooms well equipped, very nice bathroom. Breakfast quite poor considering the price of the room. Location by tunnel cannot be helped but it is noisy.

This was our first time at the Sole Mare and while there was some building work going on at the marina, the area seems to be up and coming with new restaurants and a renovation scheme for the promenade. Nice and quiet on the west bank of the river, but close enough to walk into Ventimiglia town centre across the foot bridge. We used the hotel as an overnight stay before visiting the Hanbury Gardens which are close by. We will definitely plan to stay at the hotel again.

We loved staying here. Ventimilgia is beautiful, the hotel was right over the road from the sea - and we had our own little balcony, which was fantastic. A new marina is being built over the road, so weekdays would be very noisy - but we were there on a weekend and it was fine

Right now there is new harbour building process in the front of the hotel. It is not like it disturbed me very much,I left at 9 am and return at 10 pm, just notice that car wich was parked at the front of the hotel became very dusty after 4 days of staying. Train station and center of Ventimiglia were pretty close what is very convinient if you are going to Monaco by train(parking prices in Monaco are sky high).Breakfast was lousy. There was very nice restaurant just over the street.

Very nice hotel for italian stadards. Highly recomended. Unfortunatly at the moment the new harbour in construction. But if this will be completed in about 2011 the place will be very pleasant. Thanks for the nice stay.

A great spot on the beach! Room 49 overlooked the water with a small balcony too. Our entire trip to Europe was in 3 star accomodation and this was one of the best! (Definitely our best shower of the trip.) Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast included in price. Great location to explore the waterfront - a great hike along the cliff to other beaches was a high-light. Close to town - don't miss the morning market - great local produce, cheeses and baked goods. Loved Ventimiglia - nice waterfront town without the trappings of the French Riveria. Wish we could have stayed longer...

It is right on the water with a fantastic view, clean, within walking distance to the RR station and close to many restaurants and the main shopping district. We'd go back again in a minute. Parking very limited, however, but otherwise it was great. Morning breakfast was good.

the view, room, reception were excellent the only unpleasant part of the stay was when we went down to breakfast where a very unpleasant woman was in charge. she was rude and very officious. another guest requested another table because his was right next to a table of 4 and she was so rude by telling him 'no'.

This was a wonderful hotel/B&B for my family to enjoy. I did not have a good map for locating the hotel, but once we found it, the experience was excellent and exceeded our expectations in every way. I would stay there again and enjoy all that Ventimiglia has to offer.

Buon albergo, sembra recentemente ristrutturato. In posizione molto tranquilla direttamente sul mare. Il centro è a 10 min a piedi. Pulito e personale disponibile. Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo rispetto alle strutture in Liguria.

We decided to return to this hotel after finding it by chance on the return leg of our trip from France to Switzerland in 2004. We were two adults, 1 teenager and two small children on that occassion and I was so impressed with the room and the immediate surroundings that a longer stay with our two young kids was in order in 2005. He's a grumpy, stressed looking owner/operator which can cause friction for those looking for lavish smiles upon arrival, but he does relax and shows particular fondness for kids in moments of relative quiet. We booked a triple (I can find no hotel accepting 4 to a room so I book triple) but he has three rooms at the end of the corridor, facing the ocean (i suspect numbers 29, 39 (ours) and 49) that have four beds. We were most pleased to return to his largest room, (all the others i saw being cleaned were half the size) given that we were paying 144 euros per night. Breakfast was included. I lament the lack of ham and cheese but croissants, bread, yoghurt and spreads are more than enough for those who don't need a king size breakfast. Location is great, overlooking a small street that runs along a pebble beach. Restaurants abound. Huge city market on Friday. Very discreet, an italian area for those who want to hear and see the locals as opposed to throngs of tourists.

Right on the Mediterranean. Rooms with balconies had outstanding view of the sea. Breakfast was great. Restaurant next door was very good. Wait staff exceedingly friendly and helpful. We recommend both hotel and restaurant highly.
