Hotel Reviews Venezia 2000
Young couple
Germany, Sep 2009
It's a simple hotel but absolute OK for overnight stay. We have been there for 4 days (3 overnight stays). The Bus stop they have written to us in the e-mail where the hotel is wasn't correct. The Bus stop "Ospedale al Mare" doesn't exist anymore or is at another place. But it's easy to walk to the hotel and it takes not more than 15 Minutes from the water bus station. We had the Room 401.

They were helpful and answered the questions kindly and with useful information. The staff during the night gave the impression to be not that well informed as that of the day.

Great hotel-recommend it to anyone. In the late evenings and early mornings, someone was banging a door so hard, that the furniture in the room shook.Other than that, the hotel was perfect.

chambre et salle de bain en mauvais état bien que spacieuse. C'est un point noir à revoir d'urgence, une rénovation des chambres s'impose! Ok pour le reste

Our tiny double room, off the main body of the hotel, consisted of two single beds put together. We had a small portable tv with bad reception. There was no mini bar, fridge or tea/coffee facilities. The Bath was half size with no where to hang the shower head in order to stand up having a shower. There was mould on the window sil and curtains. We ordered room service one morning by hanging the order on the door the previous night and received nothing. Reception offered no apology and requested that our breakfast be sent to the room when we complained and 12:30 in the afternoon (a bit late).

The hotel is in need of renevation though clean. The room was a little pricey with a toilet/shower room which was ridiculously small, with poor plumbing

Consigliato.

I was favourably impressed with my stay at Venezia 2000. However, I found that the photos on the venere.com site gave a slightly better impression of the Hotel. Also, we were probably given older rooms - some of the furniture certainly looked old! But the rooms were spacious and comfortable. My only complaints, as it were, were the poor quality of TV reception and the presence of a reasonable number of mosquitoes in the hallway, requiring special care entering and exiting the room. Some sort of insect repellent in the room would have been a welcome addition.

This hotel was very disapointing. It is a run-down, seedy, past its prime beach hotel. The photos on the website make it look much nicer than it is. We were stuck up on the 5th floor under the eaves, with little shuttered windows giving a very closterphobic feeling. The floors were green linoleum and the furniture was chipped white fiberboard (very spase furniture). the hallways had strange red and blue fluourescent lighting. The breakfast was good, but the waiter very cranky and overworked. The location across from the beach was the only redeeming factor for us. I would not give this a 3 star; it is a 2 star hotel.

Consigliato a chi, come noi ama "muoversi" e visitare bei posti risparmiando.

if you would like to have the commodities of a little holiday appartment, book a garden room (in a little house beside the hotel): you have a little kitchen in your room. good hotel, would come again.

Germany, Apr 2003
I was in the Venezia 2000 in late April 2003, so my review is a bit late. Anyhow: the room was big ( a superior double) and with the proposed sea view, but the rooms are furnitured in a modern, yet outdated early 80's style - would need an update. A little on the ugly side. Cleanliness is OK. The hotel is relatively quiet with just the Lungomare to cross and then you're on the beach. And there's a bus stop right in front, which makes just a little noise, but is very practical on the other hand. You go 7-8 minutes by bus and then you're on the boat to S.Marco (appx. 25 minutes). There's a hospital around the corner, so we heard a siren 2 or 3 times. Breakfast is a bit poor compared to german standard, but typically italian - white bread, fresh croissant, juice, jam - little cheese or salami - overall OK, but a little loveless. Staff is quite friendly, they have bikes for rent (old but they work) which makes for a nice excursion on the Lido. Overall accomodation is OK for the price (Lido is a little cheaper than Venice anyway) and it's the cheapest hotel which offers genuine sea view. If you actually want to see the sea, be sure to reserve for one of the higher floors, there are pines right in front.

Accomodation was quite adequate for our short stay. The evening meal was not very good - taste was fine but portions were inadequate - chicken dish I believe to have been cooked along time prior and reheated with the result that it was dry and overcooked. personnel in the bar could have been more welcoming, but as we were he only customers this might explain it??!! Overall satisfactory and quite adequate for our short stay

This hotel is wonderfully quiet with its fantastic view of the Sea. I would recommend that all visitors to Venice consider staying on the Lido. I would only make one suggestion when people are making their reservations at your hotel...please let your guests know that there is free parking available at the hotel and that the cost of the ferry is more reasonable than parking at the Tronchetto if they plan on staying for two or more nights at the hotel.

Nice room,45 min ferry ride then a 5 min bus ride,a bit of a cosideration if you want to stay close to Venice. Not on the beach like the picture on the site portrays...it is across the street from the beach. The summer bar is on the beach.

The room was spacy but did smell ugly, wet. The jakoozy on the roof top has brillant views to the beach as well as to Venecia. The breakfast was italian poor and the service friendly. Bus stop is in front of the house but the staff did not inform well about the differnt lines and how to use them. At least the price seems to be reasonable.

I didn't have an email from teh hotel to confirm booking and they did not take a deposit which was a good thing but I wasn't sure until we got there that we had somewhere to stay. We did though and it was very nice. Quite a way from where the water buses docked but it was by the beach. Rooms were a bit basic but clean. Food was good and the staff friendly.

Price of room given for us (2 beds) is very different if reservation made via the web (venere.com), it is much lower than reservation made directly with the hotel. Thank You internet!

Great deal for Venice (on the Lido island). a short bus ride to a number of ferries that take you right to St Marks Square, the other sites and the train station. Decent buffet breakfast included.

Venezia 2000 is a nice little hotel at the adriatic side of Lido. The style of the hotel is a bit 70ish, but we liked it a lot. The deal was great, a good clean comfortable room for little budget. And travelling to and forth to Venice is always a pleasure. (view)

From the garden view room, we couldn't see the garden at all. In the sea view room the air conditioner didn't work. There was no balcony , which was showing on the internet picture. We are disappointed at the breakfast they served. There weren't enough food. Over all this hotel is good at location but we didn't like the room and the restaurant.
How to reach Hotel Venezia 2000
By car
At the highway exit for Venice, follow the signs towards Tronchetto. At Tronchetto board a car-ferry for Venice Lido (departures every 50 minutes). Upon departing the ferry take via Giannantonio Selva for around 450 metres then turn right onto Strada Dell'Ospizio Marino which becomes Lungomare Gabriele D'Annunzio.
By train
From Santa Lucia railway station take water bus line 51 and get off at the Lido stop. The hotel is located around 2 km from the landing dock and can be reached by taxi or on foot in around 10-15 minutes, or by bus; take bus line B to the Ospedale al Mare stop located directly in front of the property.
By airplane
From Venezia-Marco Polo Airport, take the Alilaguna shuttle-boat service (departures every 30 minutes) to the Lido stop, then follow the above-said directions.
