Location is away from the madding crowds, which I found favourable. Lots of stairs but staff is around to bring your luggage up. Breakfast was ample with lots of variety. Our room was really nice, clean, and we had a large bathroom. Overall, it was a great place to camp out for a couple of nights.

Only 5 minutes walk from rail station. Hotel building outside looks poor, however, our rooms are very good. Also we had a very good breakfast.

We stayed in a family room, and it was really amazing. The room, the facilities, the service was perfect. It's challenging to emphasize something, but if we had to do this, we would highlight the breakfast in the hotel. The surroundings of the hotel are very nice, and you will meet only "a few" tourists (at least, compared to Rialto or St. Mark's Square). Absolutely recommendable!

This place is a real gem. We chose it due to its closeness to the train station, and we walked there (with our luggage) in relative ease. The facility itself is stunning! But if you need an elevator, watch out as the steps are steep and numerous.

We stayed in a triple room which was comfortable and spacious, and my brother stayed in the double room for single use. The hotel was a little hard to find (well it IS Venice), but some friendly locals helped us out! We only stayed one night, but the staff were friendly, the breakfast was good (breads, sweet breads, cured meats, cheeses and excellent coffee). The only bad was the stairs to get to reception, but the hotel staff assisted us with our luggage so it wasn't too bad. The location was convenient to the train and bus station and an easy walk with suitcases (besides the main bridge over the grand canal with all those steps!). I would definitely recommend and would gladly stay again.

Perfect location! Very easy walk from the train station and in a nice quiet area. I had a hard time finding it when I arrived but that isn't really the hotel's fault - everything is hard to find in Venice. Really great value for the money. I will recommend this hotel to my friends. My room was small and simple but all that I needed and the bathroom was beautiful - very modern.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The price is OK for Venice, the service is great, the room was great (junior suite) and the localization is also convenient, near train station, Piazzale Roma restaurants and bars and 15 min walking from San Marco. The breakfast is good, with just made capuccino and fresh pastries. We would definetely stay there again.

Room was tiny and right by main reception and food preparation area so quite noisy too. Lovely food though and very comfy bed.

Our original booking was changed two days before our leaving date. We were directed to a sister hotel Ca' Angeli for the first night of our stay. This hotel was superb and should really have been at last a 4 star hotel. The rooms were more what we had expected from the Pallazzo Odoni and the service and breakfast were fabulous. However the second night of our stay was at the pre requested Palazzo Odoni and this in itself was a disappointment. Although close to the bus station as stated the area surrounding was little more than a students campus. The courtyard and interior were as lovely as shown on the website however the double superioe room we were given was smaller then a travelodges standerd double with some nice decor. The bathroom was a redeeming feature with a blissful jacuzzi bath. Breakfast the next day consisted of concentrated orange juice and coffee which were both unpalateable and the food was the usual continental breakfast fare. When we return to Venice again our first choice for a magical stay would be the Ca' Angeli and not the Palzzo Odoni.

This is truely a lovely hotel. Bring a small case as the walk up can be strenuous if you have heavy cases but everything here was a class act. Great breakfast. Close to Piazzale Roma and transportation. I stayed 3 nights on business and wished I could stay longer.

The hotel was excellent, a good base for touring the city and with very keen prices. The rooms were quiet but very handy for the main bus stops and station. Bathrooms recently refurbished and were very smart with an excellent shower. Buffet breakfast was fine with plenty of coffee on hand.

Excellent place to stay in Venice! Very well located, very clean and nice people ! It's only 5 min from the bus station and the neighbourhood is authentic and quiet. 25 min by walk from San Marco Piazza but you can also take a vaporetto (the hotel is at 5 min from a vaporetto station) To sum up we clearly recommand this place!

We absolutely loved Palazzo Odoni! This was by far our favorite place to stay on our trip to Italy this time around. The Italian courtyard when you walk in is charming. The staff is great -- especially Vincenzo, who was working the front desk night shift. We sat down and talked and had grappa together -- la dolce vita, this was! The rooms were spectacular and clean! You'd be hard pressed to find this much space for such a good price in all of Italy. AND it was close to the bus and train stations.

Palazzo Odoni is a hidden jewel. Even if it is only five minutes walk from the bus or train station, it is difficult to find - unless you are thoroughly prepared to its location beforehand. The hotel is nice, quiet and small with only six (6) rooms. It has a specific character of its own. The staff is friendly. The room could be cleaned more intensely. The surprise in the bathroom is the jacuzzi. But the steep 50 steps from the inner courtyard... they are an effort with the suitcases. I read the user comments beforehand and found them realistic and true. However, I would have enjoyed a daily newspaper in English or German in the lobby.

our stay was wonderful. We had a quad room that was actually a lot bigger than I expected. The bathroom was lovely. The Breakfast room was nice and the breakfast filling. We did not know what to expect from this hotel, but I have to say, we were pleasantly surprised. Staff was great and helpful with directions to different sights and restaurants. My family would definately stay again if we ever get to Venice again.

The best hotel we stayed in in Italy! A hidden gem. It doesn't look like anything from the outside but turned out to be sweet. The classic high ceiling and big windows are complemented by an awsome brand new state of the art Italian narble bathroom, complete with a huge jacuzzi!1 I am 6'4" and I could fit in it. A really cool place in a realy cool destination, Venice. If your with a woman this is a romantic hotel in a very romantic city, you can't lose guys. Special thanks to Vinchenzo at the front desk! Fantastic location if you come in and need to leave from the train station like we did!!Venere is a great site especially for Europe and really helped us out on our first trip to Italia!!

Very charming hotel, great location. Quiet area, walking distance to everything. Can be hard to find--over bridge and around corner from Sofitel Hotel. A very nice hotel at a quiet canal near the train station and the piazzale roma. everything was fine except that the rooms have been a little on the small side. therefore a little to expensive in my opinion. but ok, it's venice, you'll have to double normal prices! very good and clean bathroom. nice employees. breakfast quite good.

The family suite was perfect for a family of 4. It was decorated beautifully the terraace was lovely and the area was close enough to St Marks Square yet far enough away. I would highly recommend this hotel, the only thing you need to be aware of are the steps, there isn't a lift, so pack light and carry a small suitcase.

The room was clean and well-decorated; breakfast was self-service but good. The hotel is handy for the bus and railway station and within walking distance of St Mark's square and most of the city's attractions, so it was good both for exploring Venice and going further afield, yet it is in a fairly quiet street (at least it was quiet in March). The hotel is small and doesn't have many facilities, but it was a pleasant place to come back to at night and rest before another day's exploration. In all I had a very enjoyable stay.

We stayed here for 3nights early March when snow on the ground. Hotel in on quiet backwater, but only minutes walk from bus station, with good access to vaporetto (water buses). Anonymous facade gives onto courtyard, and as noted elsewhere there are a lot of steps up to receptio. However, service and facilites are excellent. Certainly our room (no.4)which overlooked the rear, still had an interesting townscape view, and was newly decorated, and right up-to-date ensuite shower. Breakfast was always sufficient to not need lunch! Staff had good English, and were always there to respond to door-entry, and provide helpful service. Recommend fully.

We would all recommend this hotel - the rooms are decorated beautifully and very comfortable. It is in an excellent position to explore Venice - even when the canal bursts its banks and we all had to walk around in wellies! Just a note - there are a lot of stairs up to the hotel's reception - unless you are travelling with a gladiator, it's a bit of a struggle with your luggage!

I only spent one out of the three nights in this hotel because the hot water heater to the entire hotel broke down. The owner was very appologetic and arranged a room for me in another hotel, Ca'Angeli, which was located on the Grand Canal at no extra charge. The owner of Palazzo Odoni took my bags half way to the new hotel and the owner of Ca'Angeli met him at the halfway point and took them the rest of the way. Thank goodness for that because it was not close and it is VERY difficult to walk through Venice with luggage. 'Ca'Angeli is a wonderful hotel and the owners and employees were very helpful in every way. The one thing any single traveler to Italy must know is that you will never get a room with a view. They are reserved for doubles only. In both the Palazzo Odoni and Ca'Angeli the rooms were quite lovely. The sitting room at Ca'Angeli has two window seats from which you can view the Grand Canal. Both hotels have many steps up to the lobby, and only Ca'Angeli had an elevator. Palazzo Odoni is not suitable for the elderly or disabled for that reason. Ca'Angeli is not easy to find but worth the hunt.

BEWARE of this property, if you are a family traveling with young children or older parents. You must face 50-to-60 very steep steps leading to the reception and your rooms every time you come in our go out. A tiring prospect after a day of sight seeing. The entry is as charming and mysterious as the pictures suggest. However, the well (not pictured) seems to be a breeding ground for mosquitos; of which there are plenty to be found after you open your windows. The breakfast room was close and stuffy. The breakfast needs some serious upgrading. We had better luck at the bar (to the right and down the way.) The location of the property is on a nice, out-of-the-way quiet canal. It is also close to the railway station and the parking, which some may find a plus. Next time we visit Venice, we will stay in a different location, more central to the sights. Compared to the other 3-star Italian hotel we stayed in, we would rank this one last.

Three of us stayed at Palazzo Odoni for a week's visit to Venice in early April. The facility is beautifully renovated and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. We were particularly pleased with the location - an easy walk from Piazzale Roma in a quiet neighborhood. It was always a pleasure to leave the heavily tourist-oriented sections of the city and come "home" to the Fondamenta Minotto.

Beautiful hotel in very quite but convenient location, close to bus or train station. When trying to find the hotel, look for the number 151 on the wall and ring the bell on the large door, as it is not obvious it is a hotel entrance. Leads into a small courtyard then up some steps to reception, which is manned 24 hours. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend the Palazzo Odoni.

The hotel is conveniently located a few minutes walk from P. Roma (with its easy access to most vaporetti routes). It is on a refurbished canal in a relatively quiet location (but with some good restaurants, shops and snack bars nearby). Though it is some distance from San Marco we did not find this a problem. Its fairly easy to find with the map and pressing the entry buzzer gives access to the courtyard with a couple of flights of stairs up to the lobby and rooms. We had the 'suite' - room 2, which consisted of two areas - one with two single beds the other larger area with a kingsize bed, tv, minibar and shower room off. It is at the back of the building with nice views over the gardens and to a church. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a buffet of cereals, fruit juices, bread/croissant and various jams/spreads. The hotel was clean, nicely decorated and well presented and though not cheap by normal standards was very good value for Venice. We would have no hesitation in returning and recommending it to others.

The best thing about this hotel is it's location, very close to the rail and bus stations but nevertheless on a peacefull and elegent street/canal. There were plenty of decent cafe's, restaurants and bars nearby. St. Marcs square is only 1/2 an hours walk away, through some very picturesque streets and squares. The hotel itself is fine, our room was elegent and comfortable, while the bathroom was modern and spotless. The service was efficient and friendly. Not cheap but you pay for the location...and the Palazzo is an interesting old building.

First entrance to the hotel was like stepping back in time as we entered a kind of medieval courtyard area. A lot of stairs to reception. We were made to feel very welcome and all the staff were superb - their English was certainly better that our Italian. Our room was breathtaking - very roomy, beautifully decorated, with a balcony overlooking the rooftops of Venice, an ensuite bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and complete with antique furniture. It was a family room and suited our needs perfectly. Air-conditioning was very welcome in August. Self-service breakfast was very good. We would definitely return here again - first class.

the room we stayed in was quite big. it was classed as a family room, and the room my boys stayed in was an ante room to ours. theirs was quite small and only had access to the bathroom through ours. i found the pictures on the net were very flattering compared to the actual standard of decor. we were at the back of the building and maybe the better rooms were at the front. there are a great many stairs to get up to the reception and the breakfast room is quite small. overall it was a convenient place to stay in venice but seemed quite expensive compared to the other hotels we stayed at in naples and rome.

Our experience at the Odone was wonderful. It was the nicest place we stayed at on our two week vacation. Breakfast was very nice with the freshest croissants. It was located on a quiet canal street. The walk there from the train station is not bad if you do not have a lot of luggage. But once you cross the Grand Canal in front of the station it is pretty smooth sailing to the hotel. Not the easiest to find since there was a lot of construction going on around the Grand Canal which made finding our streets difficult at first. But I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

You could not ask for more. Very very quiet. Room very very clean. Good service. Close to the railway station and the vaporetto stop. Breakfast OK. Decoration interesting. Air conditioning OK. One thing only: although the hotel is 5 mn only from Piazzale ROMA, it took us 45 mn to find it (Venezia effect ?) The map should indicate the way through Giardini PAPADOPOLI park (and Sofitel Hotel) which is the easiest way. I do recommend this hotel.

I'd love to stay here again, felt safe, clean, luxurious & unhassled. Our only problem was as 2 friends who wanted 2 single rooms we were offered (by e mail) a suite for less money, but the suite turned out to be unsuitable as it was one nice double bedroom with a bathroom off it and connecting to the double room, a dark & tiny box room with a sofa bed, fridge tv, & not much else. So to use the bathroom the person in the tiny room would have to go through the main room which would probably be OK for a family. However, they found us 2 double rooms at single occupancy which were very nice and cost the same as our original booking for 2 singles.

Hotel staff were all very friendly and nice. We were not sure about the location because it looked a little long walk on the map, but we liked it. It was not difficult to walk from the station and we enjoyed walking around the area which was very quiet & charming. If you have lots of luggage, we don't recommend walking to/from the station. We loved our room- so spacious and had nice Venetian glass interiors. It is not a modern looking exterior, but you definitely feel the history staying at this hotel.

To arrive on a hot and dusty afternoon, press the doorbell and be let into a cool and shady palazzo courtyard was just heaven! The room was elegant and well furnished, with a lovely bathroom and the view out of our window, whilst not scenic, was certainly typically Italian. The service was impeccable and the breakfast very pleasant. The location also couldn't be faulted, literally two minutes' walk from Piazzale Roma and on a quiet canalside. We will certainly be staying here again next time we visit Venice.

Palazzo Odoni is on a side canal street that is accessible from Piazelle Roma by crossing a few step bridges, not a vaporetto. We almost missed the door except for the numbered address. The building is non-descript on the outside, but once the door is opened, you are in a medieval courtyard and up the steps is another modern flight of stairs (not handicapped accessible or for the faint of heart)to the reception. Our triple room was lovely with a modern marble bath, just as in the brochure( room #1). The staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast came with the room. We did have to ask for fresh towels after they weren't changed...possibly our fault as we don't tend to throw them on the floor...the one that fell on the floor was changed. But, the staff ameliorated that immediately with a kind apology and an astonished look. They arranged a free water taxi to Murano for us. This was mentioned in their Italian brochure, but not the English. But, you must take public transport back. The closest Vaporetto stops are Piazelle Roma and San Tomas. It is in a quieter section in the San Polo/Dorsodoro area, which we appreciated after fighting the tourists at Piazza San Marco. The owners/proprietors said they had not been open very long and were planning expansion to canal side rooms and moving the reception downstairs. We would definitely stay here again and have reservations about recommending it as next time we may not be able to get a room!

Once you visit the Doge's Palace, you realize just how much care went into the design and furnishings of this hotel. Murano glass chandeliers, beautiful brocade used for drapes bedspread & headboard (saw the same fabric in several designer fabric stores as well as the Palace), tasteful antique (repro?) furniture, even saw the same terrazo floors at the Doge's Palace! Bathroom was sumptuously done in marble (with bidet!) and had big, thick towels. Great shower! (minus - our shower door leaked and was a tiny bit cramped for my big husband). Built in wardrobe, a safe, hairdryer, and a mini-refrigerator! Room 6 was full of light and overlooked gardens and a nearby church. Quirky (hard of hearing?) neighbor plays the radio very loud starting at 7 AM (to hear the news before he goes to work), so you can use it as an alarm clock. Nice breakfast included delicious cappucino made by our host. Big Plus - close to vaporetto/train station/piazella roma (parking lot for cars)! Bring mosquito repellant and don't leave the windows open at night. If you are lucky, you can hear the classical musicians next door as they rehearse. The large room that holds 4 people is palatial! We peeked before we left. Our host (the older brother) recommended a leather goods shop that was fabulous. Got a great deal on a wallet and a handbag! We recommend this hotel heartily! Questions? Palazzo Odoni is a delightful place to stay in Venice. In a lovely old building on a quiet canal, you leave the street through a discrete doorway and enter a charming courtyard. The hotel is located up a couple of flights of stairs. The place has recently been refurbished in traditional Venetian style - its beautifully done. Rooms are a decent size and ours had a separate sitting area complete with well priced fridge bar. Bathrooms are all marble with excellent showers. Breakfast is served in the small dining room - a simple affair of fruit, yoghurt, cereals and pastries - all that you need. Staff are friendly, polite and discrete. We were delighted with our choice and will be recommending to others

Staying at Palazzo Odoni was a wonderful experience. The Palazzo is run by members of the family who have owned the building for over one hundred years. Their care and love for the property is evident in the attention to detail in the guest rooms and public areas. The service provided was friendly courteous and prompt. Breakfasting in the beautifully presented dining room was enhanced each morning by a freshly made cappucino.
