The hotel is full of charm and character. It's situated at the Rialto stop on the main canel - perfect location for exploring the city. With a 24/36 or 72 hour canal pass you can explore the city and return to the hotel with ease. the staff are excellent. The hotel has a 'homely' feel almost to the point where you don't feel your're staying in a hotel! It was perfect for us - clean, quiet and romantic. A beautiful view of the main canal from the breakfast room and of a side canal (full of gondolas) from our bedroom window. For location, price, character and ease of access to and from the train and bus station we will go back to this hotel.

I STAYED FOR 2 NIGHTS AT BALAZZO BEMBO THIS VERY NICE SMALL HOTEL LOCATED IN THE CENTER OF VENICE JUST FEW STEPS FROM RIALTO BRIDGE AND THE MOST FAMOUS SIGHTSEEING PLACES IN VENICE SUCH AS SAN MARCO SQUARE WHICH IS ONLY 5 MINUTES WALKING FROM THE HOTEL. THE ROOM IS VERY LARGE WITH ROMANTIC WOODEN CELLING AND CLASSIC FURNISHER LOOKS LIKE PALACE ROOM. MOREOVER,WHEN YOU ARRIVE TO THE HOTEL,YOU WILL FIND IN THE FRONT OFFICE MR.ANTONIO THIS VERY KIND AND FRIENDLY MAN WHO WILL MEET YOU WITH A NICE SMILE AND WILL DO HIS BEST TO LET YOU FEEL AS IF YOU ARE AT YOUR OWN HOME. THANKS A LOT FOR ANTONIO AND SURE I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS FANTASTIC HOTEL FOR EVERY ONE LOOKING FOR A QUITE NICE STAY IN VENICE.

The hotel is in front of the Rialto pier. Close to Rialto bridge, market. The gondola passes by. The signs outside is misleading because it saids Bembo on the 3rd and 4th floor. Actually, the hotel is on the 3rd floor.

Venice hotels are not cheap, so considering this hotel's location, this is an excellent value. The only negative experience was that I was sent to another hotel across the canal for the first night apparently due to some renovation. The staff was welcoming, and offered us a free bottle of wine as an apology for the problem on the first night.

We stayed one night on transit. The room and hotel are very nice. The authenticity preserved combined with modern facilities. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance of nice designer shops, tourist attractions and the waterbus stops just at the doorstep. We defenitely concider booking this hotel again if we are in Venice.

We stayed 2 nights (2 adults +2 children). The first morning we had only cold water in the shower! This was fixed until the afternoon. The next morning again we had only old water in the shower. We asked for some kind of discount when we checked out but the answer was no. This gave an exellent hotel much badwill.

Our stay at the Palazzo Bembo was great. The accomodation was very nice and the location was fantastic. The rooms were clean, spacious and quiet considering we were right on the main canel. The breakfasts were sufficient but not huge and in a stilted room where a little background music would have been nice. We were disapointed with the manner of the Manager but not to the extent if affected our stay. The location is great, you can easily walk to all the sights and more. Overall, I would recommend staying here to anyone (without children).

We were very impressed with Palazzo Bembo. It was easy to access via vaparetto and the property was quiet, secure and nicely decorated. A small well presented breakfast area was enjoyable to have your morning coffee. The staff was attentive and eager to assist with a trip to Murano/Burano islands. We felt that the Palazzo Bembo offered good value for our $ (on the Venetian scale) and we would happily stay there again on our next trip to Venice. Just pay attention to the details of accessing the building/hotel and you'll have no issues. Enjoy!

Fantastic hotel, the view from our room was amazing looking directly onto the rialto bridge - however we were in a family room which may have been the only room with that view? Room very clean and we were greeted with an chilled bottle of sparkling wine in our room - The hotel is small and personal and is in a great location - walking distance to St Marks sq and directly in front of the vaporetto. The hotel is located 4 floors up which although there is a lift this is at the top of a small flight of steps. We travelled with 2 small children and found the hotel very suitable however there are no high chairs in the breakfast room. We would definitely stay there again.

I can never recommend this hotel to all of travelar. Eentrance and corridor were not illuminated. So, we could not find the entrance easily. Facility is very bad, exclusive of decrepit of buildings. Dial-up-internet service was not sufficient because of failure of Email sending. For poor breakfast and service, and week facility, this hotel should be ranked as one star. This is much worse than cheat pension in the world. I was deceived by the rating of this examination and homepage of the hotel. Furthermore, opening time of breakfast(at 8) was very late. The time of other hotel is usually 630 or 730 in the morning. This never has been and never will be exceeding "world" standard.

Loved this hotel. Claudia, the hostess, was particularly helpful. She arranged for a free water taxi and tour of a glass blowing factory for us on Murano which was amazing. Take the #1 vaparetto - the 82 will get you there too but you have to walk up and down a big set of stairs to get to the entrance of the hotel. No extra steps if you take the #1. Highly recommend this hotel.

The price printed on the price sheet on the back of the room door was twice what we paid. If we had to pay the official printed price, then it was far too expensive. At the price paid, it is the ideal location to visit Venice, just in the center and on the stop of the boat to the airport.

We were very happy with this hotel. It is very easy to find and is located on the Grand Canal. When we openned our window we could here the music from the gondolas passing down a side channel. The room was large enough and had beds for two adults and two children. Service was excellent. The room was very clean, but the show had some mildew. Breakfast is included in the price and was on par with breakfasts at other hotels in the area. All six rooms are on the third floor, with nothing on the first floor. Security was good with someone on duty 24 hours. An intercom at the front entrance allowed you to be buzzed into the bottom floor where you rode an small elevator to the third floor. The room decor was typical, elegant Venice. We had a great time and recommend this hotel to others who have the money.

Very easy to find, right off the Rialto bridge stop. The staff was friendly but sent us to a horrible restaurant on their recommendation. The hotel is VERY small, even though the picture makes it look big. Our room was right behind the front desk and we could all of the traffic coming in and out and the phone ringing. Very small rooms and the walls were not solid...paper walls! Very strange. Excellent continental breakfast! It was a feast.

We have travelled to Venice a few times, this time we went with out 2 teenage children. The hotel was booked the night before as we wanted an extra night in Venice. The hotel was easy to find after asking someone. We were upgraded to a junior suite at no extra charge. It was right on the Rialto Bridge. The staff were helpful and gave us complimentary coffee and cake as the room was not quite ready when we arrived. We will be being staying here again. Highly recommended.

The Bempo was in a realy great location and the room was good, for our family of four, until the air conditoning broke down. Then, the water became unavailable for two of our three afternoons. The room became suffocating in the day time, of course, so we forced out of the hotel even when one of our daughters ill. The breakfast was fine but in a very sloped room that made you feel like you might fall. The consierge was usually helpful but unable to improve the hotels failings. We will not recommend this hotel to friends.

Make certain you have received your instructions about how to access the front door and then be prepared for a great experience. A stone's throw from the Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal, this small (only 6 rooms) property is perfectly staffed with helpful English speaking personnel that will do anything to make your stay all that it can be. We were two parties (a triple and a double)and enjoyed (thanks Venere) an outstanding two days in Venice at a remarkable rate. Suggest mid-week and a shoulder season for both cost and crowds. Would return again and again if we could duplicate this experience especailly the fresh baked croisants in the morning.

All things considered the Bembo really met our needs. We traveled as a family of four: myself, my husband, our 22 year old daughter, and our 20 year old son. Our children each had a single bed. We had a large bed which easily accommodated the two of us. One of the two single beds was not adequate-it dipped and lacked support and should be replaced. The bathroom was large. That quad room could use some shelves near the sink on which to place the toiletries of four adults. The staff were very friendly and professional. The breakfast included a decent selection of satisfying foods. The location cannot be improved upon, since it is right next to the Rialto Bridge. The hotel only has 6 rooms on the top floor of the building. An elevator takes you the entire way up except for the half-stairwell you must go up from the ground level to reach the elevator. You have a great sense of privacy and peace at the Bembo. Eating out in Venice is over-priced & difficult. It would be helpful if the Bembo could develop a "good restaurants list" for their guests. Except for the one single bed and absence of bathroom shelf space, we were very comfortable staying at the Bembo. It is extremely safe and secure with a buzzer/speaker system down at "street" level for letting you in. Bembo is staffed 24/7 so there is no problem coming and going as you wish. We appreciated the kindness of the staff and our overall experience there.

Our first impression was fabulous as we easily found the hotel, and we were welcomed to a beautiful room with a canal view and bottle of champagne. We were moved to another room the second night, which was a quad rather than the Junior Suite that we stayed in the first night. The quad was actually a little bigger, but no view of the Grand canal, unless you leaned out the window. They moved our luggage, and it was only a minor inconvenience for staying in a nicer room than we paid for. The location can't be beat as it is near the Rialto bridge, a major vaporetto stop and near lots of shops and restaurants. St. Mark's square was only a 10 minute walk. The only downside of this hotel is that it is a little dark and dreary coming into the lower floor, but once you reach the upper floor, there is a 24-hour clerk to let you in. All of the clerks were very friendly and helpful, most spoke in 5 languages. One even let my daughter use his computer to check her email. We wanted to speak Italian rather than English and the staff had the patience to listen (most in Venice did not want to be bothered with our learning of Italian.) The breakfast was served daily and was fairly standard, if not a little better than other hotels we stayed at in Italy. The hotel is small, only 6 rooms, but that really lends to its charm. I would not hestitate to stay at this hotel again.

The hotel with the "slanted floors" is a a very clean and quiet hotel inspite of the fact that it is right on Rialto Bridge. Had some trouble finding it since there is no apparent hotel sign only a small plaque at the door and people (mind you) working at this vaporetto stop don't seem to know what you are talking about! What is it with Venetian hotels? I had asked for a suite with a grand canal view and should have been told by mail that such a room does not exist, so when we arrived no Canal Grande view or for that matter any canal view at all. However, the personnel is very friendly and the place is impeccably clean and breakfast is very adequate. I would very likely return to this very same Palazzo if ever I visit Venice again. Thank you venere for this recommendation which is up to its official rating.

The hotel in very small and on the top floor of a building that gives no hint there is a hotel inside and entrance is very sparse I assume the ground floor is not used because of regular floods. It is not until you get up the top floor that you have any idea that there is a hotel. Location is excellent. Rooms are nicely furnished but small. Modern plasma TV and wireless internet which the kids enjoyed. Staff were very helpful - visits to murano and burano were arranged by them. Breakfasts were very good.

The hotel is in a beautifully renovated former palace. However, being on the top floor it is not all that easy to find - a more obvious nameplate at the main entrance would be helpful. The staff were excellent - helpful & friendly. There were a couple of negatives surrounding our stay. Firstly, as we were travelling with our teenage son, we booked a "Junior Suite" expecting this to comprise two rooms, probably with a bed settee. Unfortunately, our "suite" was simply a fairly large bedroom containing a double and a single bed: I'm afraid this is simply NOT a suite. Secondly, our room had a distinctly unpleasant odour. The staff felt this was coming from the small side canal, and with no other rooms available their only solution was to provide a perfumed spray! Regrettably, this odour rather spoiled my stay at what is a very nice small hotel in a fantastic position near the Rialto Bridge.

If one must be in Venice, this hotel is definately in the mix. Could not have been better as far as location. Just next to the Rialto Bridge. My room was very beautiful with great appointments. For first-time visitors to Venice, this hotel is extremely easy to get to! The Rialto bridge is just steps away, and the vaparetto stops nearly in front of the hotel - you just walk right up to the front door on the main path along the Grand Canal. Press the buzzer to be let in and let the staff know you're coming, then head to the third floor (it's not well marked that the hotel is on the third floor only). The staff is very friendly and forthcoming with restaurant suggestions and maps and directions to nearby sites. Breakfast was a good buffet with excellent bread, toast, cereal, meats and cheeses, and some yummy sweets. Our room was comfortable, with shuttered windows that looked out over a small side canal - you could hear music and gondoliers in the evening. The floors did slant away from the windows, which was disconcerting at first but not a problem. Bathroom was large and had a great shower with full tub. The best part really was the location: next to the Rialto Bridge, only 5-10 minutes from St. Mark's, and close to all the transportation options you could want (vaparetto, tronchetto, gondola, etc.) And all you have to do is find the "per Rialto" signs around town to get back to your room - it's hard to get completely lost!

Excellent location and cleanliness, two top of the story aspects! If you arrive by train at Santa Lucia station, you just need to take the vaporetti, right outside the station. The hotel is located on Canal Grande, half a block to the right of the Rialto stop, (towards calle Fabbri), highly convenient when carrying luggage. Notice that it is very difficult to go by street names and numbers in Venice. It is better to locate in maps and just look for signs to find a location. So, once you are there, just look for a building resembling the picture posted on venere.com and find the little sign on the wall that says Palazzo Bembo. Ring the bell...and there you are! A clean well located hotel where you will feel comfortable, surrounded by shops and nice restaurants , and from where you can just have a five-minute-walk to Piazza San Marco. Breakfast is also very good and well served. This is the first time I use venere.com , and I have come to highly appreciate it since it provides practical, serious and effective services! Enjoy your travelling experience!!!

This is my fifth stay in Venice and first here. Highly recommended. Hotel is little more than a year old but building has history as the name suggests. Bembos are one of the founding families of Venice with a glorious Doge postion to boast. The hotel is easily accessible by a Vaporetto or water bus from the rail station,Pizzale Roma and Tronchetto car park. There are two water bus stops of Rialto virtually right in front of the hotel, less than a minute for the furtherest which goes direct to Tronchetto which is accessed across a small bridge(the narrow canal we saw from our room) towards Rialto Bridge. We took a water taxi from Tronchetto coming in which cost 80 Euros after a hard negotiating from 120. Ring a bell to the hotel from buiding entrance and take a lift to the 3rd floor. Other floors are occupied as offices. The hotel had,I think 6 rooms and we were greeted by a very friendly and competant receptionist. It has a fairly large breakfast room front facing towards the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. Our room faced a narrow canal and a building opposite. A double and two extra beds for the kids. Quiet room with a bathtub,a small tv and a fridge. The floor was a little slanted but that comes with history. Hotel location is wonderful, less than a minute to Rialto Bridge and heart of Venice. Leisurely walk down narrow streets to Piazz S. Marco is also a pleasure with wonderful shops along the way. 15 minutes even when crowded with tourists. No worries of geting lost as S.Marco or Rialto is marked by arrows posted strategically at corners along the way. They recommended us to a very good Venetian Restaurant Giorgiano for the first evening, which is also highly recommended. A very warm and B&B atmosphere hotel. We had a very relaxed and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

We loved this hotel and found the rooms very spacious and charming. Great location and very firendly people. A dinner recommendation from the staff turned out to be our best meal in Italy. This is a samll gem of a hotel.

We had a wonderful, unforgettable weekend in Venice. To stay in Palazzo Bembo was a very good choice, such a beautiful building, nice rooms, a very kind nightguard (even speeking german!) and so close to Rialto bridge and Marcusplace.

Palazzo Bembo is a lovely, very small ,intimate hotel situated on the Grand canal. The building is a beautiful Byzantyne palace, of which Palazzo bembo has 6 rooms and an elegant dining room in which breakfast is taken. The entrance hall of the building has seen better days, as have most buildings in Venice, but this added to its charm for us. Every single time we got out of the lift a Gondola would glide effortlessly by the glass door once used by the owners to board their own gondola, it was magical! Our room was spotlessly clean, and furnished with antiques. We did not have a veiw of the Grand Canal, so be sure to ask when booking if this is important to you. Staff were extremely helpful, and restaurants they reccommended where very good. One tip would be to arrive by Vaparetto, because the hotel is immediately in front of you as you get off. It is possible to walk from St Marks, but if you are not familiar with Venice The Hotel may be hard to find. This is one of our favourite hotels and favourite cities, and we will definitely return for more!

Het is een leuk intiem hotel op een toplocatie, alleen moeilijk te vinden, maar als je het eenmaal gevonden hebt.... een heerlijk verblijf. It is a very nice top spot on a toplocation. It is hard to find, but when you found it ...... a wonderfull stay. I would reccomend it to everyone.

It was a very nice hotel to stay, and also very centrally located, right next to the Realt Bridge. The only problem was finding the place, since it only was marked by a small plate on street level. Otherwise very good service, and good breakfast including cheese, ham and yogurt - besides the regular bread and jam.

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Venice - just over a small canal and located right on the Grand Canal, St Marco side - 100 metres from the Rialto Bridge. The hotel is small and boutique, with I believe 6 rooms, which makes it cosy and friendly. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated - which by my experiences in the larger cities of Italy was a delight and made the stay very pleasureable. The staff were welcoming and always helpful.

Pallazo Bembo is ideally located close to the Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal. After a (thank goodness!) elevator ride up to the third floor, this small B$B (a converted Doge's Palace) was truly lovely and every time we walked in the door, the person behind the desk stood up to greet us! They offered great suggestions on where to eat and also a free tour to Mirano. Our rooms were clean, quiet and beautiful, and our only suggestion might be that they add some fluffy mattress pads to their rather firm beds! Breakfast was lovely in an elegant old ballroom. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Bembo!

We had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The restaurant suggestions we received were excellent. Palazzo Bembo has an excellent price/value relation.

my room was not ready the first eve and they put me at another property (hotel marconi) and the room was not of the same caliber yet the rate was the same...i think they should have offered a discount or some gesture of apology. the room at palazzo bembo was lovely and no complaints there.

This hotel was in an excellent location opposite the water bus stop at Rialto Bridge. There is only a small 230x150mm sign indicating the name of the hotel. The entrance looks more like the approach to a group of private apartments, however everything else makes up for the short-term difficulty of finding it. You will enjoy its decor, its comfort, its location, AND the unusual approach. There were only six rooms, although they shortly will have nine - yet they still maintain 24-hour access. We loved Venice; indeed it spoilt us for Rome and Positano. We shall stay there again.

What a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful city! Definitely a 3-star +! Would stay there again and have already recommended it to others. Easy access, beautiful setting. Within our first few hours there were gondolas passing our window below--singing!

When we walked into to the room we had, we felt a little quizzy as though we were on a ship beause the floor was not leveled straight, but it only took about an hour to get adjusted. Other than that the room was beautiful, clean, and spacious. Even the bathroom was immaculate. The hotel is at an excellent location right on the Grand Canal near Rialto bridge.

A wonderful hotel, situated on the fourth floor of a typical Venetian building. Every amenity catered for, friendly staff and the best continental breakfast ever.

We thought Palazzo Bembo was a real find. It was in a charming building and the location by the Rialto Bridge couldn't be beat. (The vaparetto boat lets you off right there.) It's very small, and the staff people were personable. They cheerfully arranged to add a crib to the room. We had no problem with noise from the desk. Our room was small for the price, but apparently that is how it goes in Venice. We didn't have trouble finding it, but we had read in one of the reviews that there was only a small plaque, so that was very helpful to know.

When my family and I had originally arrived there was a mixup in our reservations. For some reason our reservations were really for the next day not the current. Since there were no rooms available for us at the time (we needed two) our host was very accomodating and made arrangements in aonother hotel for our first night. I did not have to do anything. Even all of our bags were taken to the other hotel for us and we proceeded to enjoy your wonderful Venice. Thank you very much Jim Mastrino 153 Highland Elmhurst Illinois

New hotel right on Grand Canal on 4th floor of a picturesque building. Our family of 6 stayed 3 nights. Four daughters stayed in an excellent Quad. My wife and my room was small to moderate size. Rooms do not overlook canal as they indicate, but rather are on side and back of building. Impression given on web page is that entire building is hotel. Price was far to high for quality of hotel but locatoin was excellent. Breakfast is better than most hotels. Regi is a very helpful staff member who speaks English very well and very helpful to guests. Other desk attendants speak poor English. Would definitely stay again, but only for a much lower price.

The hotel is actually just one dark, poorly marked floor of the gorgeous palace shown in the picture. The rooms are new, clean, spacious and modern, but there are severe plumbing problems in the building -- water backups through the drains -- which caused a mosquito infestation. Also the staff was unable to fix or replace our refrigerator. Breakfast was much less elaborate than other hotels we stayed at, and the price (though this may just be because it's Venice) more than double comparable places in Florence.

Decent place and nice people but more of a bed and breakfast type of place and much smaller than anticipated. Only part of a floor of a building with only a few rooms to choose from. We thought we'd get a room with a view but I dont' believe any of the rooms have one. Also, minibar was broken and shower didn't work very well including a very bad plumbing stystem that would turn your shower from hot to cold in an instant and one morning there was no water pressure at all. Also, its very confusing of a place to get into. There's no big sign just a door with a button and you have to kind of figure out where to go. We went up and down the elevator a few times looking for the place.

Good comments: 1)Warm reception by the hotel manager. 2)Great location. Just in front of the Rialto waterbus stop. Central location. 3)New and clean bathrooms. 4)Good heating system and air-conditioner. Bad comments: 1)We had the only room facing the Grand Canal. All other rooms do not have this view. 2)Breakfast could have been better. 3)Difficult to find hotel because there is no lobby at ground level. Front desk at 4th storey of the building. Hotel is only one level of the building you see in the picture. We arrived at night and there were no lights leading to the elevator to the hotel. 4)Hotel is at the lowest point in Venice. High possibility of flooding compared to other areas, says hotel manager.

The hotel (on the 4th floor of a pink Venetian palazzo) is absolutely delightful : extremely beautiful with superbly elegant wall coverings in blue/yellow damask cloth, ornate Venetian glass chandeliers and wall lights, period furniture and a fantastic view onto the Grand Canal. The granito marble floors slope alarmingly upwards on the canal side, all amounting to a total Venetian experience. The room we had was one of the nicest hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. The bathroom was luxurious although the bath tub was a little small. Our only complaint was that the reception desk (with ringing telephones) disturbed us by its proximity. In price-quality terms it was unbeatable - €50 for double room with breakfast. A very memorable experience, much to be recommended.

unbelievable hotel for the price. loved it, loved it. the only thing was that our room was off of the main breakfast room, so you could hear people a little too early for my personal taste, but that's not going to stop me from recommending this hotel to everyone i know going to venice.

Charming hotel - perfectly situated for all the sites of Venice. If we ever return to Venice we would have no hesitation in returning to Palazzo Bembo. For the price, the rooms are very luxurious and the bathrooms superb.

Our stay at Palazzo Bembo was most enjoyable. The hotel, although very small (only 6 rooms), is very comfortable and the service good. My only criticism is that we found it very hard to find. We located the building OK, it's just that there is no indication as to how to find the hotel entrance except for a tiny bell push on one of the exterior doors. However the rest of our experience was very good. The location right next to the Rialto Bridge is very central with easy access to the whole of Venice. What a great city Venice is, surely the best city in the world to experience.

Really pleased with the hotel. The room was lovely with a great bathroom. The main reception was a big small but the breakfast room was good and the breakfast had very good choice. The manager got us a table at a lovely restaurant on the Saturday evening. The situation beside the Rialto Bridge is fantastic, right in the centre of everything.

Palazzo Bembo is a wonderful hotel, very beautiful, and fabulously located! I had a wonderful time in Venice and Palazzo Bembo. I would definitely stay there again. Ask for a room with a view of the Grand Canal! It's the best!

First rate hotel. Deserves more than 3 stars. The staff is friendly, helpful, and accomodating. The rooms are large, clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. Fabulous bathrooms...they looked brand new with huge bathtubs, gorgeous marble floors and towel warmers. The bed linens were gorgeous and the closets were huge. We did not have a direct view of the canal, but it was right outside the front door. Excellent location, just steps from the Ponte Vecchio (don't mind my spelling). I would highly recommend this hotel.
