We stayed 4 nights in your very nice furnished, clean and cosy little Hotel. The location was perfect.Every place of interest was easy to reach and the vaporetto station was only a few steps away. The welcome and service was very friendly. The difference to bigger hotels is not only the price, you just don´t feel as a tourist. It is for people who want to travel individual and explore a city like yours by themselves.

Overall stay was good, except they tried to make us change rooms to a different building first thing in the morning after one nights stay (we had unpacked all our gear) to accommodate another couple with a kid. We were very unhappy but in the end, we didn't have to move. Staff was friendly.

Negative: Our room was tiny. it was not a room for four, they just put an additional bed, we had problem even to move around. Breakfast was really bad. Direction on the website was misleading, we spent almost an hour looking for the street before somebody told us that in Venece street name doesn't mean anything but every house has an unic number, and we need to find the area with alike numbers. Positive: great location, close to Realto Bridge, with good restaurants around.

After booking the rom for 2 adults and 2 children I received a confirmation by email. Upon arrival there was nobody at the reception at the hotel. Through the intercom a lady let us know our roomnumber. The next morning the receptionist told us we had to pay extra because of the children sleeping in the room. Instead of telling us this when we checked in, they waited until the next day. We had an argument and asked for the owner. He too told us we had to pay extra. Instead of the confirmed 74 euro they wanted 140. I refused and paid only the 74 euro. This was very unpleasant, we will not come back to this hotel and will not recommend it

Great location, and great place to stay at. Very quiet at night. Everything as advertised. To get to hotel, use vaporetto#1, and get off at Rialto Mercato. It's closer than Rialto (close but you have to cross the bridge)and San Silvestro stops. Vaporetto#2 doesn't stop at Rialto Mercato, or San Silvestro.

this is a great place for a short stay in a great location in venice. We found the place with out too much trouble although I cound understand how it cound be difficult especilly in the dark. The manager happened to be there when we got there. I am sure this is a fluke. We did not see him again. The room was much better than we expected. If you find the place and can meet the owner as we did then this is a great RELATIVELY cheap place in Venice.

The cot for our 18 year old son was unacceptable-a slatted bed held together with electrical tape and ties. The breakfast consisted of packaged croissants and toast-not nutritional or sufficient in quality or quantity

Easy to find from the valporetto, conveniently located for all the central sights and attractions, especially for our first trip to Venice. The rooms were clean and spacious and bathrooms were new. We stayed one night and would deifnitely come again.

More lika a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Very small place with present staff olny during breakfast and first check in-hours. Charmy rooms. Perfect location. Small street, but just a few steps above campo Silvestro and 100 m from Rialto. You will get lost but always find your way back home! Girl in reception had a bit poor English, but was nice and willing to explain and answer questions. The pölace is recommendable, but be prepared for low standard.

At our arrival, our room was not available anymore (surbooking...). The receptionist (on interphone) gave us directions to go to an other hotel (10 mns by walking). The other hotel was very nice and central, the room spacious and clean. They offered us a taxi-boat ride to go to Murano... Otherwise, we saw the next day at the reception that it was offered for all the customers. But it was nice anyway.

Well located, very close to Canale Grande & Rialto, all shops, bars directly around. Good for off-season, I believe this area might get very crowded in summertime. The residenza was o.k., but all guests had to move to another locanda (Sturion) after 2 days. Was it overbooking or "technical problem" ? Overbooking seems to be common practice there: When we arrived, the last key on front desk (for another new guest arriving after us) was for another building. Forget the breakfast, this is even poor for Italy. Good alternative is the cafe bar beside the Bolla supermarket in Strada Nova. The inn-keeper lady is enthusiastic but not very professional when it comes to directions, locations and so on, better don't ask....Would come again ? Probably, with a written guarrantee that I actually could stay there the complete time I booked...

This was our first stay at Residenza Laguna. The hotel was in a great location and was a good price compared to others in the same area. The staff were very nice, but did not interact with guest unless they were asked something. We would suggest you get clear instructions on how to get to the hotel (especially if it is your first time in Venice and you are not used to the small narrow path ways). Best station to get the vaporertto from the bus station is Silvestro. We would stay here again.

The hotel rooms were nice, and the reception lady friendly. The location is good in relation to Rialto bridge, but get proper directions before you travel! The breakfast was nothing to speak of. Basically a chocolate croissant in a plastic wrapper (not particularly fresh) and some bread.

We have been in venice for one day during the honey moon, and Residenza Laguna was the best choice, they even got us a small champagne bottle in the room! Very well connected in the heart of Venize next to very turistic area but very quiet at the hotel spot. Room quite spacious and very nice private bathroom, surprisingly good for Venize std's and nice decoration with the best being the wooden roof of the room. The photos shown on the net were fitting perfectly the reality and stuff was quite nice in the morning for the breakfast. Quality versus price is fair taking into account the overpriced Venize and the period we traveled (August 15!). Highly recommendable for everyone visiting Venize....with not lot of suitcases to carry up and down the staircase :-)

Knowingly overbooked. Once arrived at the hotel we were told they moved us to a sister hotel, which was 5 minutes away, and it was better suited for us. In fact, they were knowingly overbooked, the new hotel was 15 minutes away, the directions were materially wrong, the new hotel was not better suited for us (they didn't even know why we were there!). The guy at the desk didn't even apologize. So, it might well be a nice hotel, as described by people who stayed, but they lack of professionalism and customer service.

Very close to Rialto & Vaporetto stop. Walking distance to much of Venice. Nice breakfast. Staff very friendly and gave good advice on transport and tours. Hotel is similar a small American B&B. Staff not always on site but could be easily reached and always responsive to inquiries. Room was clean and larger than you might expect in Venice. Private bath modern and efficient. Overall I was quite satisfied with the hotel and staff and give them both a thumbs up.

If you like to stay in a former townhouse and don't care that the stairway is squeezing narrow it's the place to choose. But it is definitely not suitable for elderly or handicapped people. For Venice we think the ratio between price / room / service / location is rather good.
Young couple
Australia, Apr 2008
The young fellas who own and run this B&B are extremely hospitable and proffessional. They provide an excellent breakfast and rooms are extremely quite considering only a 150-200m from Rialto. We stayed 4 nights and venice and this place exceeded our standards. Something to note the owners know someone who will water taxi you to murano island for free no questions just a little perk for staying there.

The owner of this place is certainly friendly but it is not easy to locate this place, you just wouldn't now the hotel is there even if you walk past it several times. Direction to Hotel must be improve. Otherwise, this is a good place to stay to have a good Venetian feel of the slanted floor.

Realment molt recomanable.

We stayed Oct 7-10,2007, and were very happy with both hotel and staff. This was our first trip to Venice so I can't compare this to other hotels there, but for the cost and location we were very satisfied. None of the accomodations were on the ground floor and the staircase is tight on space and takes attention to navigate, but the room was clean as was the attached bathroom. The slight tilt to the floor was disconcerting, but I assume not atypical for such an old building in Vence. My high marks for spaciousness and quiteness of room were in the context of being in a residential and shopping area with some foot traffic as tavernas closed at night - even with windows open, it was surprisingly quiet. My lower score on public areas was due to no lounge and tiny breakfast area, but our room was large enough that we could relax there instead of in a lounge area. I was completely satisfied, and would certainly return and recomend it to others.

We had a very pleasant stay in the hotel. It is just a 5 bedroom b and b but it is well kept and the 2 young men who are running the place are very gracious and helpful. They speak good English so it was not very hard to communicate with them. The hotel is very close to the vaporetto station as they have indicated in venere and is right smack in the middle of a lot of shops. We would have wanted to extend our stay in the hotel for another night but they are fully booked. The only drawback of the hotel is that they do not have any elevator which makes it rather difficult for those travelling with heavy suitcases like we did. The stairways are very narrow and steep. But, the young man that greeted us was helpful and took up some of the luggages to our room.

Hotel very convenient to San Silvestro vaporetto stop, within a couple of minutes walking. Map on Venere used to be wrong, it looks like it's been corrected. Had to call to get directions to hotel, but call was immediately answered, and staff came to vaporetto stop to meet us. Very narrow stairway to get to rooms, but they helped us get the luggage up and all was well. Very nice clean room, decent size, a little dark, but still excellent. Breakfast was very good, and service was extremely courteous and polite. We will stay there every time we visit Venice - for the price, location, and competence of the staff, it cannot be beat. Also, as a nice touch, gave my girlfriend a necklace upon parting.

Street noise was a problem. However, tthat is not a complaint of the B&B. For the money and the location, R. Laguna was fine. We loved this tiny 5-room hotel. Location near Rialto Bridge was wonderful. It was easy to drop back to our hotel during the day for a rest or to pick up a jacket. Stephano, the owner, was very accommodating and helpful. Rooms were surprisingly spacious, nicely furnished and very comfortable. It was a little noisy, but we loved hearing people walk by at night. One thing we were surprised at is that the owner is not on the premises. The doorbell connects to his cell phone. (Ring very firmly!!!) For some reason that did not work so when we arrived we had a little trouble raising someone. We walked to the little food shop on the corner and the owner, a friend of Stephano's helped us out. We had to leave very early in the AM and Stephano made arrangements to have someone come in early and provide coffee and rolls. There is a steep stairway up...no elevator. However our luggage was carried up, so it was not a problem for us. However if you have limited mobility, this is not the place for you. If you require TV, entertainment or other services other than a nice room, they do not exist here. We were fine with this as Venice was all the entertainment we wanted. We took a Superior room for the 10 extra Euro which put us on the 2nd instead of the 3rd floor. We would definately recommend this place!

Residenza Laguna is situated in the heart of Venice, in the old-fashioned part near to Rialto, which means that its a little bit out of the tourist area, however you can get to the Rialto bridge in 3 minutes. I can reccomend the place to everybody, (maybe except for those, who travel with young kids-because there are some narrow stairs).

Location as indicate on map is not correct but when you look at www.map24.com and enter calle dei galizzi 1016 venice, it can't be difficult to find. Staff very friendly, not always there but when you ring the doorbell, Stefano gets there in a few minutes. The doppia superior (room 11 at the first floor) is a little bit more expensive but you get a bigger room. Breakfast is good (might be a little more). Nice hotel to stay in Venice, when we go again to Venice, Residenza Laguna is the place2b

Great location and easy to find off directions - and only @100m from water taxi with no bridges (or steps on route!), which with luggage is good. Steps in B&B but manager was very helpful. For getting around Venice - the location was very central, yet just a bit away from the masses of people. Had stupid co-guests who managed to double lock the front door to the B&B and lock us in on the last day - as we had left our keys in our room on our final exit as instructed. Absolutely no way out as a result. Having exhausted all options, had to wake some other guests (5.30am)(on route to train) to get keys to exit. Probably simply an unfortunate string of events, however, worth being warey of. Having said that, we would stay here again without hesitation.

Stayed four nights in third floor corner room. A bit of a climb, but no problem for people in shape - watch your head going down! Very clean & comfortable, with in-room safe. Very quiet with windows closed, wonderful street sounds with windows open, no problem with mosquitos. Breakfast plain, but good: croissant, rolls with butter, etc, plenty of good coffee or beverage of choice. Great location close to Rialto bridge. Owners friendly and helpful. Clientele mainly mature European and American.

Venice is disgracefully expensive but this little guest house is good value for (Venetian) money. It is conveniently located a few hundred meters back from the Rialto Bridge and you can walk to Piazza San Marco in about ten minutes. The two owners provide a very efficient and personable service. We would say it's a guest house, not a hotel: the 'breakfast room' is actually a landing and there is no lounge or bar. We would recommend the provision of tea/ coffee making facilities in the rooms but otherwise we enjoyed our stay very much and have recommended the place to some friends.

The location was excellent. Easy accessability to everything, but a little out of the way to avoid crowds. Would stay there again. Everything in Venice is expensive.

Very good choice if you'd like to stay IN Venice. 5 minutes walk from Rialto, in one of these narrow and charming streets. Be prepared to climb stairs: no lift, it'd be impossible to fit in these narrow buildings... Breakfast quite 'italian' :-(( limited and non-varied. The difficult thing is to get there: be aware of the 'funny' (non-)numbering system that Venezia uses for the streets. Number 2 can be next to number 145!!

The narrow streets and low key nameplate made our first search a bit of a challenge although it is quite close to the San Silvestro vaporetto stop and Rialto Bridge. However, the central location of La Residenza, our beautifully appointed room under 600 year old wooden beams, and the friendliness of hosts Stefano and Andreo made this a perfect place for our short visit to Venice.

A charming little hotel, conveniently situated close to the Rialto Bridge, which has recently been refurbished to a high standard. The public spaces are small but the rooms are very pleasant and fully-equipped with hair-dryers, safe and mini-bar. The breakfast is good. The proprietors are extremely friendly and helpful; one of them even met us at the vaporetto landing stage at midnight. Recommended.

Our stay was wonderful, one problem was finding the hotel. We didn't realize San Paulo was an area and not a street and with the language barrier we had a difficult time finding it. Also the sign is very, very small at the front door. A restaurant manager has to bring us to the hotel. After that it was all great.

Zimmer u. Bad sauber, ordentlich, gemütlich. Frühstück gut (weit mehr als nur Zwieback). Inhaber sind sehr bemüht und nett. Wir würden es jederzeit weiterempfehlen !

Excellent position, really liked the accommodation. Not good if you have mobility problems (or too much wine!)as every room is up a steep flight of stairs. Clean, quiet and extremely comfortable. Will definitely return.

After getting off the water bus we managed to locate the property without problems in around 2 minutes. We were welcomed (in English) and shown to our comfortable room. The bathroom was spotless, as was the room. The breakfast was quite acceptable, and much better than anything we received in Rome a few months ago. The stairs are steep (so if you are elderly or infirm, be warned), but this is not a problem for the able bodied. The staff were polite and friendly at all times. Excellent value for money. The location is ideal for easy walking to the wonderful sights of Venice. Highly Recommended.

I appreciated this hotel personals' hospitality: Above all, when my 11 year-old daughter and I arrived in Venizia at midnight after a kind of flight trouble, a receptionist picked up us at the nearest vaparetto stop. We were relieved!

We really liked this small hotel. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Very easy to find and well located. The « sistero » (San Pablo I think) is great, you can walk easily because of the prximity of Rialto bridge or take the vaporetto. Breakfast ok.

This is an excellent place to stay and we were more than satisfied. It is situated in an ideal part of Venice. Stefano and Andreo looked after us two English Grannies very well and I would certainly stay again when I come to Venice.
