The hotel is very well situated. Our room was very quiet, in the back of the hotel, and very clean. The employees are competent and charmant. The breakfast is quite complete and sufficient for this kinf of hotel.

The Herion is a small friendly hotel/guest house. It is quiet and well located, close to shops, restaurants and bars. The public areas are small and the hotel does not have a bar or serve evening meals, which was not a problem for us. It is convenient for arrival by water, bus or train and the main tourist areas are easily reached on foot or by a short water bus ride. It is ideal for a quiet short break in Venice.

The Lacanda Herion was an easy walk from the train station, and was found without difficulty. We were pleased to find the room spacious, clean, and with a comfortable bed, making it more than adequate for our one night stay. Considering that this was Venice in October, the hotel's rate was extremely reasonable. Also, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Venice was cold and there was no hot water or room heat. No maintenance during week ends. Hotel was very close to water bus stand. Fron Desk was excellent. Superb cordiality.

We stayed in single room with queen bed and private bath. Was a little noisy for afternoon napping. Was much further from cruise dock than we anticipated. Small front lobby but staff very friendly and helpful. We were permitted to leave luggage at front desk while we toured. Breakfast adequate. Was too cool to eat in courtyard. We stayed here at the culmination of our cruise. It was very adequate but expensive due to devalued US dollar. We walked to St. Mark's Square--5 and 1/5 miles in one day. We would recommend this place to others.

We enjoyed 3 lovely days in Venice and were very pleased & relieved that the hotel met our expectations.This was my 4th visit to Venice but 1st time at Herion & our room was by far the biggest & cleanest I have encountered. The staff were very freiendly & helpful. The only hick up was that we had trouble finding the hotel as google maps gives an entirely different location. This feedback was given to the hotel & we weren't the 1st to encounter this problem. It's worth clarifying how to get there before you leave.

For Venice, quite a good deal. Convenient to the train station and bus terminal. Room a bit dark with only one small window, but for the price I can't complain. Did get a shock from a faulty fixture, but presumably that was a one time fluke.

Excellent value for the price. Clean, spacious rooms with spacious bathrooms, nice furniture, competent and friendly personnel. Neat breakfast served in the little cosy inner yard. Location is not too far from anywhere, and, at the same time, far enough from most crowded tourist places to be quiet.

not told that the air-con was down, we were up the whole night with the fan on. There were several dead flies and mosquitoes lying in the bathtub. The good thing is we got changed to another room with COOL AC. Otherwise I would say OK.

I stayed 4 nights with my partner and it was exactly as I had expected. I paid 80 € per night and I sincerely think that the services provided by the hotel are really over of this price. I would like to point the great kindness and hospitality of the hotel staff. They are all young relatives of the owners of the hotel.

This is a fantastic small hotel. Well situated near the railway station, and within walking distance with suitcases. You have to be alert to spot the sign on the wall at the laneway that takes you to Locanda Herion which is just off the main thoroughfare. Its a good walk to Rialto and St Marks Square but pleasant and relatively easy to find. We were very well looked after and our room was clean, comfortable and spacious (premium)and the ensuite bathroom more than adequate. The service was good and the staff very helpful and welcoming. I would highly recommend it.

Super, tiendas, etc. Cerca vaporeto y para recorrer la ciudad. Realmente recomendable y de gran calidad humana todos los que nos atendieron. Incluso nos compensaron por un desayuno que no llegamos a tomar por salir muy temprano de viaje. Agradecidisimos.

This hotel is located at 5-7 minutes' walk from railway station. It took us a little longer when we first arrived there because there was no walking instruction on the website. The room is very spacious, especially the bathroom. We were almost thrilled when first seeing it after staying in hotels in Rome, Florence and Bologna. Waiters were very friendly. When we arrived the room was not ready, but waiters offered to bring our luggage to the room on 2nd floor once the room was ready, so that we could start touring right away.

Spacious and very clean room, updated decor, high quality double-pane windows kept out the noise, efficient air conditioner (that was NOT turned off at night, unlike other hotels in Italy), and convenient to the train station. Although there was no in-room refrigerator, we were allowed to use the hotel's. Would return in a heartbeat.

Having had a bad experience a week earlier of a checking into another hotel in Venice, also reserved through Venere, this was a most pleasant experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful and willingly answered any questions we had about getting around Venice. The rooms were clean and spacious. Lovely breakfast area but rolls were very stale. staff helpful. Tip get a 3 day or day vaporreta pass then you just hop on and off the vaporettos when you get tired and this will also get you to the islands!

The hotel was lovelly, room was very spacious and bright, bathroom too. Very easy to find (5 minutes walk from the train station) even if web map wasn't that helpful, there were signs everywere from Santa Lucia's station. Employees were very polite. We adored the balcony and the backyard were we had breakfast and we could sit any time during the day and relax. We would recommend this hotel to our friends and we would return to it next time we visit Venice.

Have stayed in Venice on many occasions and this is one of the best value for money hotels. Reasonable breakfast of cereal, coissants and bread rolls, with coffee and fruit juices. Our room overlooked the breakfast patio which was very pretty. Shower room was a bit small, but adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again. Very peaceful and quiet.

It was our honeymoon. We stayed there for 3 nights. Its well located, the emploees were very kind, the room was perfectly clean and it had a good breakfast.

The breakfast was mostly prepackaged foods, but the automatic coffee machine actually made quite a tasty brew. The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful, although they failed to fix a broken light in our room. As Alaskans we were melting in the sweltering furnace of Venice, but we were told that it was too early in the season (May) to turn on Airconditioning. The location was excellent. It was nice to be able to easily walk to the train station with luggage, meanwhile between walking and Vaporettos, we had no trouble going everywhere. The only negative we can complain about was the noise from other visitors arriving in the middle of the night.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, the hotel was very quite,very clean and well presented,and the location was central. We considered it very good value for money and would recommend it to anybody travelling on a limited budget.

Bonjour, L'hotel est très bien situé: proche des gares ferroviaire et routière et pas très loin à pieds de la place saint marc. la rue est tranquille et le quartier très sympa et animé avec des restaurants et restos rapides pas trop chèrs et très bons . Le personnel est très acceuillant , la chambre, de style un peu ancien, est assez spacieuse, avec une salle de bain correcte. Par contre l'hotel est mal insonnorisé à l'intèrieur donc on entend tout et surtout ces voisins de chambre ( heureusement ils n'etaient pas trop bruyants ). Et ce qui m'a vraiment deplu c'est le petit déjeuner : tout est industriel, en sachet sous vide ou en machine à café et pour la plupart immangeable.

Good clean accommodation in a fairly convenient area for most of Venice's main sites. Room was a good size and en suite bathroom was perfectly acceptable. Breakfast provided, but the least satisfactory aspect of our stay. I would recommend the hotel without hesitation as a good basic standard offering reasonable value for money, bearing in mind Venice's sky high prices for the UK traveller.

L'hotel est calme, l'accueil agréable même s'ils ne parlent pas français. Par contre, nous n'avions pas de rideau ni de volet dans la chambre, trop de lumière le matin et le petit déjeuner n'est pas de très très bonne qualité. Mais dans l'ensemble pour juste deux nuits l'hotel était suffisant.

Brilliant stay, very good relationship between price/quality. The hotel is very well situated and there are lots of shops and restaurants around. Within easy reach from San Marcuola vaporetto station. As for the staff, they were very nice and helpful. The only thing that could be improved is breakfast. It was varied but mostly packaged products. All in all, we had an amazing time in Venice and would definitely come back to the same hotel and have and will recommend it.

We were very impressed with the location and charm of this small hotel. It is an easy walk from the RR station and the staff was very helpful. It was a very good value for the price. Our room opened onto the courtyard on the first floor and we took advantage of the location by buying wine, cheese and crackers at a nearby shop and sharing them al fresco on the patio.

that's a reli excellent budget hotel that i ever experienced. nice and quiet place, convenient, easy to access, warm welcome, breakfast are tiny and good enough, (no heavy oily meal pls), cereal, milk, toast, choco, coffee, u can have all what u want! during my trip in rome, venice, milan & paris, this hotel is the most excellent one. my bf and i strongly recommended everyone of u to try, u CAN'T miss it when u visit venezia!!!

We stayed 2 nights in Venice for our honeymoon and this is a very nice hotel. The service is very good and the staff is very hospitable. The staff helped us out so much with recommending restaurants as well as always asking if everything was ok. The room was spacious and very clean. The atmosphere was very cozy and you could really feel the culture of Venice here.

We stayed for two days at this B&B. The hotel was extremely neat, quiet and comfortable but a little bit small. The breakfast was free and good. The front desk had a lady during the daytime and a guy during the night. They both were extremely helpful and friendly. They spoke English and gave us all the information we needed. The place is located just about 5 to 7 minutes walk away from the main station. The walk was through a narrow and busy street and not much of a distance. There was one sign board of the place but was very small. It is very easy to miss that... The place is located on the right side just after crossing a vegetable market along the way. The internet was not free and they charged us 5 Euros for 2 hours. Overall, We loved the place and would definitely stay here on our next visit.

It was our fist journey in lovers after 20 years wedding day, so our first stay to Hotel Locanda Herion. Our journey was short, only 2 days in Venise, but we have really appreciated and anjoyed our overall stay, everyone and everything was wonderful. We are ready for a new experience.

The stay in the hotel was average mainly due to the poor price quality relationship. The breakfast was more than poor and the breakfast area very small. My double room was in two levels making the stay impractical. On top of that it was at the entrance level making all internal noise from reception and breakfast annoying. The staff was welcoming but unflexible. The positive point is the location, not far from Piazzale Roma (15 mins walking fast) and San Marco square (25 mins on foot).

For such a small hotel the rooms were so clean, quiet and well maintained. The price was fair and average for a city like Venice. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room we took had a garden view and the garden has a terrace accessible by everyone, therefore you dont have a privacy if you try to open the windows, however the view is not a real problem for young travellers who are expected to spend most of their time outside. The hotel was not so close to Saint Marco Square, but so close to a Vaporetto station from which you can reach everywhere, however in our case we decided to use our legs and walk all over the city to enjoy its magic. The hotel was not easy to find (as any other hotel in Venice) but I consider myself to be lucky to find it within few minutes and that was with the help of Google Earth. I will stay in this hotel again everytime I visit Venice.

A lovely hotel with a warm welcome. Only a seven/eight minute stroll from the train/bus station yet quiet. An ideal location to stay, lovely staff and great restaurants on the door step without the price of central venice. Central venice is so esay to reach from any where. Get a garden/courtyard view and be sure of a pleasent outlook and in the summer have breakfast out there.

Room Quality - We stayed in a double bed room and the room is very large. There are a lot of spaces for us to put our luggages. The room and bathroom is very clean. During the hot summer time, I do recommend this hotel because the room is very very cold, it seems they got a new air-condition. Services - Good services, they help us to carry the luggage, and the people are very nice. The breakfast is self-serve. Location - You might need some time to find this hotel after you got off the train station, you may need 10-15mins walk. The hotel is on a side corridor of a main street. The supermarket is a bit far from the hotel, and you may also need to take the boat to St. Marco, takes around 15-20mins. Not many restaurant to choose near the hotel.

The web site gave the option to upgrade from a standard room to a "garden view" room or a Garden view + terrace" room. By garden view they mean a window overlooking a small patio and by terrace they mean a open corridor overlooking the same patio (all guests have access to the terrace so forget about privacy). We were a bit disapointed at the begining. The hotel is very hidden and it took us over an hour to find it. Finally we had to call the hotesl and a staff memeber came to pick us up.

Excellent hotel. This isn't as close to San Marcus and all the high end shopping as some of the other hotels, but Venice is small enough that it doesn't matter much. We spent most of the time walking the streets and soaking all the beauty in anyways. Staff was great and rooms were always quickly cleaned and very comfortable with it's own AC unit. Directions: Since I didn't get any directions, I wanted to help you people out. Guglie stop off the water boats. Turn right down Canneregio from the water stop and keep following the road to the left. Keep an eye on the corner of the upper right side buildings. Venice is very weird with it's addresses. I can't make any sense of it, but 1679 Canneregio is actually in a corner OFF OF the street, but keep an eye out for the Locanda Herion sign(and also watch the numbers on the right side, when it jumps from 1649 to 1700, you need to turn). All in all, great hotel and we had a very comfortable stay(6 nights). One last thing is that you absolutely MUST go to the pizza place just down Canneregio(back towards the Guglie stop, right by where the markets open up in the morning) named L'Angolo della Pizza. Absolutely amazing. My new wife and I ate there EVERY SINGLE DAY we were there. My personal favorite was the Inglesina. Enjoy!

Very centrally located, excellent water bus connections (use recommended). Exceptionally big room (garden view room) and very clean. The only thing which could have been made better is breakfast. Every item served for breakfast was separately packed, industrially made and not very high quality. I bought some fresh food from the shop to eat.

it was near the railway station but on a small and dirty street. The room was quiet but the facility was so old that even it was clean, it makes people feel uncomfortable. The air-condition was very loud and a male stuff who didn't speak any English pushed us to pay at the night before we would leave, as if we would escape without payment on the next day. But a female stuff that we met at the arrival was REALLY nice.

My husband and I returned to Locanda Herion after 5 years for our 30th Wedding Anniversary and were very pleased with the renovations. We felt a bit saddened that the previous owners had left as these owners were nice but not very friendly. They did what they needed to do but did not interact well at all and as we were there a week this was disappointing. Pleasure Cafe a must. Hotel Danieli for special night out. Harry's Bar overpriced.

The recently renovated room is very clean and spacious. The owner Anna is very nice. She helped us book online an extra hotel night in Florence and did not mind that we had to leave a night earlier due to the railroad strike. She also booked an online museum reservation in Florence for us. We were even able to use the front desk computer for a quick check of our emails. The stay was very pleasant. The hotel is very near the boat station and the train station. The only improvement needed is the breakfast. Hopefully, there will be more variety of fresh choices.

The room is clean, neat and tidy except the air-conditioning failed when we arrived. The staff has prepared us with 2 big fans and offered us a special discount for the air-conditioning. The breakfast buffet is quite good.

The young man on reception spoke good english and was very freindly and helpful. Our room (2) was comfy,clean and minimal and had a very small toilet/shower room. This room is next to the cleaning cupboard Which is used on a regular basis, and the cleaning lady sits right outside the door chatting on her phone. (no chance of a seista. Also there is no drinks facility in the room. Don't expect to much for breakfast, bread roll, yoghurt or a pre-packed croisant with tinned meat. Location is great. It is very close to shops, cafes and the waterbus stop and is not as busy as some areas.

The hotel is quite good. The staffs are helpful and nice. It's quite close to the train station and so it's convenient. The air conditioning is self-controlled and it's cool enough. The breakfast is okay, we can eat in the garden (outside the hotel) and the environment is quite good. The only bad point is that the hotel is without a lift. When we checked in, the staff helped us to take our luggages to our room but when we checked out, we took our luggages downstairs by ourselves, luckily our luggages were not very heavy. Overall it's quite good and I'll recommend it to my friends.

EL hotel esta perfectamente ubicado para llegar a cualquier lugar, sin embargo no tiene letrero afuera por lo que cuesta identificarlo al llegar, sin embargo las indicaciones que recibi por mail al solicitarlas al hotel fueron muy claras. El desayuno esta OK pero no tiene nada salado, el personal es atento y la pieza aunque no muy grande bastante comoda, el baño muy bueno y limpio.
