Hotel Wildner enjoys an exceptional location in Venice's historic centre. Indeed, it is one of the few hotels in Venice from where you can enjoy the wonderful view of St. Mark's Basin, and you will easily reach all of the city's major sights and attractions.
Its rooms are spread over four floors and are both intimate and bright, offering that typical friendly atmosphere of a 19th century inn. Furthermore, the property boasts a beautiful panoramic veranda and a typical Venetian restaurant.

Great location for our one-night stay! We had a triple with a lagoon view. Very convenient to vaporetto stops. Breakfast was very good. We would stay here again. No elevator, but that wasn't a big issue for us (staff helped carry bags upstairs).

This was my second visit to the Wildner, and I met guests who were there for the fifth time, so I think I am not alone in my love of this place - it is a Gem of a hotel, with most comfortable and attractive accomodation in a perfect location. The staff could not be more welcoming, helpful and friendly, the restaurant is excellent, and the hotel offiers superb value for money. I will return!

The reception couldn't have been better. Elvio and everyone else were exceptionally helpful, even before we arrived when I had questions or concerns. If you want easy access to Piazza San Marco, this hotel is perfectly situated. We picked it because it sits right in front of one of the water shuttle stops from the airport. Not having been to Venice before and arriving after dark, we wanted to make it easy. We had a problem with mosquitoes in the room. Our room overlooked a side yard and was on the third floor but the mosquitoes still found us at night when the window was open (which we needed for fresh air). We had a triple room that was extremely crowded and small. Better get along very, very well with your companions in those triples.

Hotel con inmejorable localización. Habitación con baño, limpia, cómoda y con excelentes vistas. Recepcionistas amables.

Nice little hotel with friendly staff at the reception, who were interested in their guests. The hotel is within easy walking distance from the vaporetto-station San Zaccaria. We enjoyed very much the well heated room after the stormy weather outside.

Location, Location. Convenient to Piazza San Marco and vaporettos were right out front, easy to buy a ticket and hop to where ever you wanted to go. Room was clean, staff was pleasant, we ate at the restaurant and everything was good. We would stay at Hotel Wildner again.

We woke up very early each day, before breakfast was served, but the employee preparing for breakfast prepared cappucinos for us each day. Way above and beyond the line of duty!

I needed to change my arrangements at a busy time of year and this was done instantly, without quibble or penalty. The only small downside of my stay was the restaurant where, on a busy night, table service was not all that it might have been.

Great position, the Hotel is located in Riva Schiavoni 100 mt from S. Marco. Second time in Hotel. The previous one I got a front room with a magnificent view over the lagoon that worth all the money I payed for. This time we got a room in the back vith a less romantic view of the backstreet but with an umbeatible price. Room was for 3 person and large enough. Clean and well maintened even forniture are old and little dull, Toilette clean. Air condition working good and not noisy. Personnel are very professional. Restaurant La Terrazza seated direcly over Riva Schiavoni is excellent and with good selection of wine but little upriced even considering the 10% discount for the hosts. Great brackfast at La terrazza with good food (no junk or hard discount food but rather quality product some of them organics like yougurt and jams. Pastries are bakery made) Hotel is 2 stars because no lift, but is located just in front of stops of Vaporetto Line 1, so you don'have to carry the luggage away the Venetian Calle and bridges. They keeps the lugger after the check-out. Recommended for romantic couple (front room) and budget traveller (rear rooms)

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful although not all spoke English fluently. Room 16 had a beautiful view of the Canal and was very quiet as there are insulated windows. King size bed; bed was on the firm side. Location was perfect and a very short distance from St. Mark's Square. Breakfast buffet was wonderful and we loved their croissants stuffed with apricot jam. The best ever! Coffee was great also. The hotel is right across from the San Zaccaria vaparetto stop so we could go anywhere from there -- by boat or by foot. We would definitely stay there again should we go back to Venice, which I hope to do again some day.

Excelent location & positioning, bellview. Sugestion to increase looking of hotel rear bad view through windows in the small yard, not so well attended, in contrast with front excelent looking, special the flowers, terrace, etc. Access to the terrace very narrow and much close to the kichen smelling.

A wonderful hotel for our first stay in Venice. Great location, easy to find and a warm welcome when we arrived at 1.30am. Breakfast was lovely, sat on the terrace watching the world go by with plenty of food including warm pastries. Our room, over looking the lagoon was a good size, cool, comfortable and quiet. The kids had a triple room at the back which they were very happy with although it wasn't as nice as ours. We wouldn't hesitate to use this hotel again, inspite of having to lug our bags up and down stairs.

The hotel offers good spacious rooms and the Lagoon view is worth the extra cost. Great location as a quick walk from the water taxi, great view and 5 mins from St Mark's square. I would recommend the hotel and would go back again. Venice is a wonderful city, ideal for a romantic Fr-Mon getaway. London prices but worth it.

Very nice pensione, situated close to San Marco, with the most beautiful view of the sea (San Marco canal)from our room. Very quiet, in spite of crowds of people passing by on Riva degli Schiavoni during the day.Very welcoming and nice staff. A well kept building. The breakfast as delicious as you would find it in a far more exclusive hotel, and a nice breakfast room. Our room: A bit old-fashioned, charming, with a wooden floor. Easy to reach the hotel by vaporetto to the stop San Zaccaria. The reason it is only a two-star hotel must be that there is no lift. That was not a problem, the staff brought our suitcases to the room. We stayed in Pensione Wildner for three nights. If we ever come back to Venezia, we woluld like to stay at Pensione Wildner.

This was our first time in Venice and the Hotel Wildner was the perfect place for us to stay. The location is not simply good, but out of this world. Within minutes of St Mark's Square and with an outlook to die for. Rooms with a view across the water to San Giorgio Maggiore cost extra, and they are worth every penny. We spent hours just taking in the panorama. The room itself was spacious, clean, well appointed and well looked after (as it appears on the website!). The bed was really comfortable. We didn't use the restuarant, but the breakasts were excellent! The staff were efficient and if we didn't find them as especially welcoming as some reviewers, we certainly had no complaints.

Great value! A wonderful spot on the water near vaporetto docks, with lively sights and a good selection of well-prepared/presented/served food in the front solarium restauraunt. Very clean throughout. All staff were very friendly and helpful, and made special efforts to prepare breakfast for our group of 8 to accomodate our extra-early morning departure. Only minor issues were lugging baggage up 4 storeys and noise from stairwell could be problematic for light sleepers, who might want to bring earplugs :o)

The nearness to the Markus square is not always a advantage, but in November, not too worse. Close by the hotel is the vaparetto station, from where you can go the islands and the very beautiful church S. Zacharia, where you can visit a very famous picture from Bellini.

The Hotel Wildner was a very good find. A child friendly hotel. The rooms were very well presented and clean. The grounds are very well maintained. The pool and area are very well maintained. The hotel is 30 yrs from the beach and only 15 yrds from a nice cafe. The hotel works very hard at maintaining the public areas. Only 150 metres from the main Lido street, which is full of cafes, bars and restaurants, all very relaxed, nice and friendly. The Lido was a pleasn't change from staying in Venice and I would highly reccomend staying on the Lido and at The Wilder Hotel.

When we reserved a room for 3 at 180 euros/night, we requested that we get a room overlooking the bay or we did not want to reserve it. Once we arrived, the hotel clerk tried to blame it on Venere (although he had a copy of our request). After 1 evening they moved us to a room with water view, all the while telling us we should have to pay extra for the view. In our opinion we paid for 2 nights with a view and got only 1.

Overall, a decent hotel. We took the water"bus" from the airport and were surprised to find the hotel was a mere few steps from our stop! Staff was friendly and rooms were big enough for European standards. The restaurant attached to the building serves great food and was offered at a 10% discount to hotel guests. Id say the biggest downfall was the noise level. This, due to the fact that our room was on the first level and right above the restaurant's kitchen. Also, the fact that there are no elevators, we heard most of the guests climbing and decending the stairs each morning. Overall, a good hotel with great location.

We really enjoyed our room with a view. The only difficulty we experienced was that the hotel did not have an elevator, and we were traveling with a toddler. Nevertheless, everything else about the hotel was very pleasant, including the location, the service, and the breakfast! For those who is thinking about going to Venice with a baby in a stroller, I recommend you think twice!!! There are lots of bridges with stairs, and not much fun crossing them when you have to carry a baby in a stroller!

Beautiful room with spectacular lagoon view which changes continually. Our room is shown on the hotel website with the green theme and had three large windows, huge double bed, sofa and table (room 37). Location was ideal to set off for every part of the island and although you can hear the hustle and bustle from the riva below, it certainly didn't bother us. Very friendly and courteous staff. More than adequate breakfast. Surprised there was no courtesy tray in room. Stairwell a little bit noisy due to marble floor but as pensione is only quite small this was not really a problem and only heard one couple return in the early hours. The Wildner made a special weekend even more special and we would not hesitate to recommend. You are paying for the view but this is worth every penny.

The room we stayed in was clean but very small. The shower was good, and the breakfast was sufficient. The best feature of the hotel was the surroundings. As we were having breakfast, we thoroughly enjoyed the water front view. One drawback of the hotel was that there was no elevator. It was very hard to move up our luggage all the way to the third floor. But over all we enjoyed our stay at Wildner.

We loved the Wildner and would recommend it to anyone who wants a central location with a carnival happening right in front of an absolutely incredible view (just as indicated on the website).

It´s realy a wonderful place with an excellent view. The Quadruple room (Nr.37) is fantastic for parents with two kids (ours 11 and 15 years). It is only a minute to Piazza S.Marco, so you can walk around and come back easily for a rest. The only problem might be the noise from the ships /small ferry, but i think it´s a part of the special spirit of Venice.

Ask for a room with a front view and when you open your shutters a Canaletto painting will unroll before your eyes. The staff at the desk and in the restaurant were extremely attentive. Our fussy children ordered what wasn't on the menu and it was never a problem. The fish in the restaurant was great and there was a lot of choice. A minutes brisk walk from St Marks Square- a perfect location for sightseeing Venice. Room cleaned very well every day. We were on the third floor. We were four grown up womens staying in room 37, a quadruple room and really enjoyed the stay. The room was not that big, but big enough taken into consideration that we only slept there. The bathroom was OK and we got clean towels every day. There was also a hair dryer in the bathroom (this was not mentioned in the description of the room I think). The only "problems" was some moskitoes which managed to come into the room and bit us during the night. We stayed at Wildner end of September 2005. The weather was lovely and so was the view as we had sea view. We really recommend this hotel.

A fine pensione in a remarkable location for families who want to be in the thick of things (AKA "Tourist Central"). The staff is friendly and generally knowledgeable. The website is accurate in its description. Which means guest should be aware that this IS a budget hotel in a luxury location. No lift. Virtually no lobby. Our superb Quad room looking out over the endlessly interesting lagoon was located on the fourth floor (fifth floor to Americans). It's a hike. And for your bags, don't expect an offer of help from the porter 'cause there ain't none. That's why it pays to travel with a good-natured 17-year old son. I'm not sure if all the rooms have a similar view, so be sure to check when you reserve.

Ahhhh...Venice. Great views of the lagoon and water action of Venice. Incredible surroundings and great people watching from the room after a long day on your feet. Water taxi station is close and the breakfast was very good. No elevator but didn't see one in any of our Italy hotels. Good incentive to pack light. Good dinner recommendations as well. The Wildner is in a fantastic location!! Minutes from everywhere. A few metres from the Bridge of Sighs, St Mark's Sq. It's a cute 'pensione', not a high class hotel. The decor is simple but charming. Go for a 'lagoon view' like we did. Cannot comment on the other rooms offered here. It is spectacular at any time of the day. The staff are great, very kind and helpful. The location at San Zaccharia/St Mark's water bus stop is perfect for those a little 'intimidated' by the idea of getting to the hotel. The 'Allilaguna' direct from the airport, lands literally metres from the front door of the hotel. If you look at the pictures on 'venere.com' you'll recognise it if you arrive in daylight. Altogether a fantastic break in a beautiful city.

The Wildner was a lovely hotel and we would definitely return without looking further. The location was excellent, the hotel was spotlessly clean, and the quadruple family room was the most spacious we have ever found in Europe. The 15% discount in the hotel's excellent restaurant is a nice benefit. The Wildner represents very good value for money in Venice.

We visited Venice in mid December for 4 days and booked a different hotel for each of our 3 nights. We were traveling very light and thought this would be a good way to experience a variety of hotels within our budget and to better view the different areas of Venice. The Wildner was our most expensive hotel as we chose a lagoon view double room at 120 euros. The room was adequately comfortable and clean although furnishings were a bit dated. The striking feature was the view from the windows which faced the Riva degli Schiavoni and across the Lagoon to San Giorgio Maggiore and Giudecca. An ample and tasty breakfast was served in their breakfast room/restaurant which was on the main floor in front of the hotel therefore also providing a bird's eye view of all the happenings on the Riva and the Lagoon. Our other two hotels were the San Cassiano - at 70 euros double standard and our favorite by far, and the Alex - at 50 euros double with shared bath, our bargain find. The Wildner staff was very friendly and we would consider staying here in the future for it's location and great views, but would probably choose to stay at more than one hotel, as we did this time.

Gran bell'albergo. corrisponde tutto alla descrizione su internet. Consiglio soprattutto alle coppie di trascorrere la notte in questo albergo per passare dei bei giorni romantici alla Serenissima!

Location and view couldn't be better for the price. The room was not luxurious, but it was very nice. The included breakfast was generous and tasty. Had lunch at the restaurant as well; food was good and the price was quite resonable. The only downside to the entire stay was that when in the room, you could hear any little bit of noise out in the hallway. That being said, I would stay here again if I return to Venice.

From the first friendly greeting to that last goodbye, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wildner. The room as well as the front desk service and hospitality was excellent. What a view!! Strongly recommend room #37 where you can look out over the lagoon in bed. It has a sitting room area and 3 huge windows. Very clean and pretty. Service at breakfast wasn't so great but dinner was good. Highly recommend and would return. Can't go wrong for the price based on the location, room and service.

This hotel is in a fabulous location with one of the best views in all of Venice. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are comfortable. The only drawback is that there is no elevator and it is a 4 story building so if you are on one of the upper floors you have a healthy walk up. This inconvenence is more than made up by the price and location.

great location two minutes from piazza saint marco. Really noisy rooms (wooden floors above). THERE IS NO BATH TUB as stated but only shower room. Really clean, spacious and amazing views if you take lagoon view rooms.
