Hotel Reviews Villa Stella

Finland, Sep 2009
Nice hotel in quiet surroundings, easy to reach Venice. Friendly staff, very clean and adequate rooms (though we had a superior room, maybe worth paying the extra as we had more space), bathroom also clean and tidy. Breakfast very good, better than in Italian hotels usually, buffet with a lot of choices. Suitable for families as well as for those travelling in couple or alone, even though the stairs might be difficult if travelling with small children or in case of elder people.

Beautiful old villa located in a not-so-busy area of the Lido. Very friendly and helpful employees. We had a nice triple room, clean and tidy, perfectly air-conditioned. Windows are not soundproof, so be prepared for some street noise (not too much, though). Breakfast was excellent and of great variety. We came with a car, so the free parking space provided was a big plus. When you bring a car in August, don't plan too tight a schedule, as we missed two ferries (which depart every 40 minutes) due to long queues when leaving the Lido.

Good location, nice garden and view, good breakfast but small room and shower for the price. The parking place is pretty tight. Staff is friendly but not really helpful with information on restaurants or local transport tickets purchasing. Rooms are not well sound insulated, sanitary installations are noisy (turning on and off water tab in the bathroom, using the toilet or shower in the neighboring room was clearly heard in my room) The hotel did not meet my expectations but it was not bad.

Nice accomodations with a very competant staff. Located on a bus line which makes it very convenient to get to the water taxi to Venice. Parking on the property provided a safe place to leave the auto.

we stayed her with easter. the breakfast is absolutely great with a lot of variety and the best cappuccino ever. the location was closeby the bus that brings you to the boat. the owner is very friendly and explains all you need to know upon arrival. min point was that we were just above the breakfast room which was noisy in the morning. I also hoped for one of the rooms as posted on the website but that wasn't the case. great place being on the lido:it starts and closes your day by the boat trip.

This was my husbands favorite hotel of our entire three-week, ten-hotel trip. The rooms were even nicer than the photos -- like a great bed and breakfast at home. Each room has lots of character, vary in size and style, but all nice. An excellent value for the location -- we've stayed in Venice many times before we had children, but staying on the Lido was a great idea with kids so that they could have a little beach time. Even though it was high season, there were no crowds on the Lido -- another big plus. The property does not have an elevator, so if climbing lots of stairs is an issue, you should request a first floor room. The directions to get there were a little confusing at first -- I would recommend taking a taxi when you first arrive with your luggage from the Lido ferry stop, then taking the bus afterward was easy enough.

Nice villa in a very quiet area. Make sure you take the bus from where the ferry stops if you are carrying luggage (3 stops from ferry). restaurants in the area are much cheaper than in Venice itself and the island is very very quiet in October.

Excellent family run Hotel with very friendly and efficient staff always trying to please. Pretty surroundings with easy access to main Venice town by bus and ferry (15 minutes) We would suggest when booking to ask for a SUPERIOR room as the small additional cost provides you with the extra space required. Breakfast either in the garden or breakfast room was particularly good with large choice, catering for all tastes. Overall, an excellent Hotel, good value for money and we would return again in the future.

We enjoyed Villa Stella as a very convenient, very familial place which offers a great service - and regarding the price, even a nearly unbeatable service. The room was spacious and clean, the bath room was especially good, we had our own little terrace with lemon trees on, and palm trees around it. The breakfast was the best we ever saw during our trip around Italy and shall be rewarded with extra stars and an extra thank you - and the same goes to the staff which was always helpful and friendly (although, honesty has me adding this, their English was not quite fluent *lol*). We loved the place and will hopefully return one day.

Excellent hotel - well above it's 2 star rating. Accommodation, staff, location and breakfast superb. As a drinker of herbal/green teas I was delighted at the range of teas available (and loose tea at that!). The provision of tea and biscuits in the evening was also a very nice touch.

Villa Stella is a delightful small hotel loacted on the Lido. The area around the hotel is quiet and uncommercial. Although a little way out from the cntre of Venice we much preferred to retreat to the quiet after a day sightseeing and the boat journeys across the lagoon were pleasant - and with the 3 day pass - inexpensive. Hotel owners were very pleasant and helpful, the hotel is immaculate and breakfast was excellent.

This is the first time I have ever posted a review but I feel that this hotel deserves full praise. "An oasis of calm away from the busy city that is Venice!" I VERY pleased with Villa Stella. The staff was excellent, the room (I had Standard) was VERY CLEAN, with A/C and nice bathroom GREAT BUFFET BREAKFAST (several cereals, fresh fruit, juices, ham, cheese, cakes...), Taste THE CAPUCCINO!!! If you love a family environment this is your place!

Overall our stay at Villa Stella was a pleasant one. Breakfast was almost outstanding and we felt at home. It would have been perfect if the room would have been a bit more spacious, with a table to sit, read and write on and less street noise in the quiet hours.

Our stay at Villa Stella was wonderful, and I recommend this hotel. Although it is a 7 min bus ride from the Lido(waterbus 51 stop), the Villa is very clean, and quiet away from the hustle of Venice Island. The staff were extremely hospitable and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would stay at Villa Stella again, without hesitation. Thank you for your hospitality.

A small and friendly hotel, well run by helpful staff who speak English (and french, and a bit of some other languages). Very pleasantly decorated and welcoming. Our room had air conditioning and also heating which was very useful ! The only down sides of the place being that its quite a walk to get to the water bus and the restaurants etc (but there are regular buses which seem to stop close by), and there aren't really any views to speak of but overall was impressed with the place.

We were very pleased with Villa Stella. A beautiful room at a reasonable price and the location was convenient to Venice. The water bus left us at the Lido dock and the bus took us almost to the hotel door. Since we weren't in the city proper we didn't the problems others had with city noise.

Yes, this is a nice villa, well run, and in a quiet suburb of Venice, only 25 minutes by cheap boat from the heart of the city. This is a great way to go about a trip there - much more civilised than the central hotels. Helpful family based staff.

Place was nice. We has a room at the front (8) which was V noisy during the night - Busses are very fast! Generally no problems with the room etc. Air con was essential. we were not informed that rooms are no-smoking! Directions from bus were not great we asked at a cafe as it was late. Street bar near bus stop 3 is cheap and cheerful if you need alate night drink etc!

Our stay at Hotel Villa Stella was wonderful! My husband and I didn't realize we had booked our hotel on the island of Lido. We were so happy we did! The hotel is quiet and the surroundings so much more tranquil than the hustle and bustle of staying right in Venice. It was a just a short boat ride to Venice, which was a great way to tour the Grand Canal. We have many friends who will be traveling to Italy in the future and have told them they must stay at Hotel Villa Stella! Out of all of the bed and breakfasts we stayed in throughout our journey, we felt most at home at Hotel Villa Stella. We felt spoiled by the beautiful accommodations, delicious breakfasts, and the friendly staff. This has our stamp of approval!

THE ONLY BAD THING WE HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS PLACE IS THAT WE DIDNT STAY LONG ENOUGH. MY PARTNER AND I WERE ON A TOUR OF ITALY AND THIS ONE OF THE STOPS.WE HAD ALREADY BEEN TO ROME AND FLORENCE AND I HAVE TO SAY THIS WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP.MICHELA WAS SUPURB.THE PROPERTY WAS AMAZING.QUIET AND TRANQUIL.THEY WERE THE MOST HELPFUL AND WELCOMING GROUP OUT OF ALL THE PLACES WE STAYED.I DIDNT KNOW THIS, BUT MOST OF THE HOTELS OR SMALL B&B DONT PROVIDE IRONS WHICH IS A MUST FOR ME.MICHELA WENT OUT OF HER TO MAKE SURE I HAD USE OF ONE.WE WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK TO VILLA STELLA AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY.

We have stayed in many places throughtout Europe and this one is without a doubt the best value vs cost. Amazing breakfast - quiet location just minutes from major sights - very friendly personnel - great rooms - close to the Lido beaches - very helpful with tourist type advice - not a single negative to be said about this beautiful villa

It is a real nice, clean small hotel run by friendly and helpfull ladies. The extended breakfast in the garden was great. Only point for improvement was the quality of pavement in the garden. It was quite tricky positioning the chair at the table without one of the legs getting lost between the tiles. Perfect connection to Venice by public bus and boat-bus. Certainly a recommendation to good friends.

We paid 120 Euros and teh room we got was a small attic with a very small bathroom. The night was cold adn we asked if they can turn on a heater..the oweners would not turn it on, but gave us thin extra blankets. We are very disappointed. For same 120 Euros we could have better accomodations. Villa Stella needs to reconsider their prices compared to their accomodation room size

This hotel was a big disappointment. After a long boat trip from the station you still have to take a bus. The room was tiny, up many flights of stairs,WITHOUT A LIFT, and smelled of damp. The bathroom was tiny and impractical. This room was also more expensive than the others because they called it the romantic room and give you a free bottle of wine. A clever marketing trick because otherwise noone would ever choose this room.

I can only recommend this nice pension. The staff is very friendly, room was cool, good connection to everywhere. By the way-the price in the internet doesn`t correspond with real prices-I found 89,-euro while making reservation and it was 68,- at the pension.
