Elena at the desk welcomed us with a big smile and from there on made everything perfect. The decor of the room was beautiful and fresh. We had room l9 which has a terrace and that made the stay even more perfect. We were given plenty of ice each afternoon for cocktails on the terrace. Even the bellboy was gracious in helping us carry the bags up the stairs to the room. As there is no street sign and it is actually a narrow walkway you must ask in a local store after you pass the station for the street; but once you find it you can see the sign at the end. At night it is well lit. It is just a short walk to the main street where all the action and restaurants and shops are. Easy walk to Piazza San Marco as well as from the parking garage. Breakfast was more than adequate with fresh baked croisants, ham, cheese, cereal and rolls and butter and jelly. For the price a great buy!

We had booked a triple room for my wife and daughter and I, and were lucky to get the "garden suite", a room at the back of the small garden. Thus, it was extremely quiet and had a very enjoyable atmosphere. The decor of the hotel was very nice, and the breakfast room was spacious and welcoming. We enjoyed the breakfast very much, and the staff were friendly and professional. We came by train, so the location of the hotel was very convenient for the Santa Lucia station, although it was a bit of a hike to Piazza San Marco and the map was crucial. However, the hotel is close to the Grand Canal, and there were lots of shops and restaurants nearby. We arrived early in the morning and were able to leave our luggage at the hotel, which was very convenient.

I was on holidays with 2 friends (room of 3 persons). This room was quite small but extremely clean and quiet with a small and delicious park nearby. The welcoming was very warm and the breakfast rather copious. The hotel is well located close to the station and near the vaporetto and it was a pleasure at the end of the day to return to our quiet room after a touristic day... When I return to Venice, I'll choose hotel Villa Rosa again, because the relationship price/quality is excellent..

We enjoyed a very pleasant stay at Villa Rosa. We expected that accomodation in Venice may be old and cramped but were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the room was. It was decorated in charming traditional decor. Breakfast was fine. No complaints. Very reasonable considering how expensive most things in Venice are.

Well, It's too difficult to make this review as my feelings are really ambiguous about Villa Rosa. Let's start with Venice - if you haven't been in Venice before - be prepare to drag your suitcase(s) along an endless row of stairs as everywhere you go on foot and must cross bridges and NONE of the bridges of Venice is equipped with lanes for charts/children coaches or touristic suitcases.Strange for a town that lives on tourists only but very Italian -isn't it.In this respect Villa Rosa is excellent location -only one bridge to cross from Piazalle Roma and no bridges to cross from Santa Lucia rail station. Property is 5 minutes walk from the railway stations but use Google maps in advance to see how exactly you find Via Misericordia - in Venice it is difficult with the streets - when they say streets they mean mainly water cannals... You reach the property via very narrow street that starts left from the main trade street that leads you to the St. Lucia train station and Piazale Roma. When I was to choose my hotel I have very much relied and was influenced by the reviews I have read about it. They were almost all of them totaly positive. Well - my personal experience is not that totally positive. When I had popped-in some local fellow - obvously not quite satisfied with life - was stearing at me from behind the counter and was pretty surprised to see me enter at 3 o'clock PM... Soon I knew why - just minutes before he had given the room I have reserved to someone else - swiss citizen as - which - he said!!! - had a same name as mine! Hard to believe that a swiss fellow will have the same name as mine pretty Bulgarian one - it was just the first letter of our family names that was the same. Than some 40 minutes fool-around started as the hotel was totally full for the weekend. We started discussing scenarious how I go to another hotel, but will have breakfast with the original one and pile of idiotic suggestions that I have firmly refused and insisted that if someone

The hotel is in a perfect location, just a few meters away from the central station, but in a quite side street, and our windows had a nice view on a lovely private garden. The staff was really very friendly and gave us many advices on where to go for dinner, what to visit, etc... The price/quality relationship was very good for a city like Venice. Maybe the breakfast could be improved.

Good - Location so close to train station. Bad - No lift, meager breakfast. I had asked for a double bed but they provided me with twin beds. Overall- Good budget accomodation in Venice if you are not asking for too much and want to stay near the train station.

The hotel was exactly as described and therefore exactly what we wanted; close to the train station, clean and very friendly staff. It was a little pricey, but we booked at the last minute and we got what we wanted; what it there to complain about? Bonus!! Our room had a nice little rooftop patio. Very nice!!

Would recommend Villa Rosa. Very handy to the train. Hotel was as per the web site and good value. One disappointment was that due to renovation the dining room was not functioning. They were apologetic and tried to be accommodating by offering breakfast in the room or a 5 euro discount on the bill (not enough to buy breakfast for two), and gave a bottle of wine as a gift. We would have appreciated an email in advance and/or some advice on the web site. Nevertheless, I would definitely go back and recommend to others

Villa Rosa is a cozy little hotel very near to the St. Lucia train station, yet has very quiet surroundings.Since we stayed for one night in Venice this hotel worked out best due to its excellent location. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and warm. The breakfast could have been better though. Overall a very good experience.

When we arrived the receptionist provided us with a small and very useful map with the location of the hotel and the right way from Piazzale Roma. It was too late - more than one hour we were walking round and round with no idea how to get the hotel. My suggestion is to scan and upload this map on the web-site. Inspite of this the location is perfect and the value for money - too.

Perfect place to stay in Venice. Good location near to Railway Station "Santa Lucia" and Vaporetto stop "Ferrovia". We left our car in Mestre, so we arrived to Venice by train. The hotel was only 5 minutes from the station. Nice staff, clean and quiet rooms, good italian breakfast. All of this in reasonable price. Next time we travel to Venice we'll stay in "Villa Rosa" again.

A good solution for short staying in Venice! The hotel is perfectly located: very next to the station(3 minutes walking)and easly connected to all turistic places(bus-boats in the station'square). Quite and simple structure but clean. Staff was kind and polite. The price was right for Venice...but anyway a little expensive compared to other cities.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Villa Rosa. Venice is an incredibly expensive city and this hotel is a good value. It is no more than a few minutes walk from the train station, and if you have a lot of luggage, you won't have to worry about crossing any bridges. I must mention that there wasn't enough hot water in the morning for showers. The shower handle broke off on our second morning, and the hotel initially wanted us to pay for the replacement (32 Euros). After a long discussion, it was decided that we didn't have to pay.

Nettes, kleines Hotel. Sehr sauber.

Excellent find, particularly for rail travellers. So close to the station, yet so peaceful. Can't see why it's only one-star. Excellent value for this city. Just one point, it is only a couple of hundred metres from the station and Grand canal, but very hard to find, the 'street' is only a couple of metres wide!

Hi, Fellow Travelers. The Villa Rosa was a nice hotel and very centrally located near the train station. It sure beats dragging luggage onto a crowded vaporetto. We needed to get to the train very early in the morning, so, all in all, it was a very good choice. The room was comfortable. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio late in the evening. Breakfast was just adequate. Try wandering away from the normal tourist routes and you can find pastry shops, groceries and fruits at reasonable prices. Venice was beautiful and our hotel was just right.

Disappointed with this hotel. Travelled with a group of 8, using inexpensive family run hotels. Villa Rosa was in a great location, within walking distance to all the main attractions but was run down and shabby. We had late flights home and there was nowhere comfortable to sit and wait.

Location is very convenient for shopping, restauarants and vaporetto stops.

Not very complicated to find, the location is situated near Ferrovia (Train Station). From the airport (Treviso) there is a very comfortable shuttle bus service to Venice, Piazzale Roma (9 Eur return ticket), one water bus station away from Villa Rosa. Very kind hotel service, helped us to quickly solve a little inconvenince with first day morning hot water service. As we mentioned them about the problem they moved us immediatly to another room wich was in an excellent condition so our stay at hotel Villa Rosa was nice indeed. The price we had to pay (at the end of our stay in cash) was exactly what I read previously on venere.com, so there was no surprize! I highly recommend this hotel and definitly would return here if again in Venice.

Let's state one thing first: Venice is terribly expensive everywhere for everything. Having said that the hotel offers a fair deal, rooms were quiet, bathroom quite clean, location is close to the station. Compared to other hotels in Italy for 80 euros per night we should give low rates for price/quality, compared to Venice though I suppose you don't get much better if you are travellng on budget. For a night or 2 without big expectations it's absolutely ok!

Nice place. Good relation quality/price for Venice and only a 5 minutes walk from Piazzale Roma Train/Bus station, so wonderfully located if you are arriving from a tiresome journey. Cannaregio is not next to San Marco, but it's a very lively neighborhood, two minutes walk next to most main vaporetto stops (a big plus when coming back at night) and since being in Venice means walking all over the place, if you really want to enjoy it, San Marco is not necessarily always the best location. I would have no problem repeating my stay here.

The hotel is very close to the station which was extremely helpful, but was far from the city center so you had to take a vaporetto (water bus) there which was expensive. We ended up getting a pass rather than single rides because the single rides were too much. When looking for the hotel, it isn't really a street but a small alleyway really (we couldn't find it right away because we were looking for a larger street.) The breakfast wasn't much. Reception was helpful and very nice. Overall a good visit, but a little expensive.

We were there only for 2 nights but we got a fantastic room - it looked like a cozy Bed & Breakfast room on the coast of California with wood beam ceilings etc. The bed was so comfortable after 6 days of hard mattresses in Paris. We got a spacious room that was renovated recently and was on the outside of the hotel building - I think we just got lucky...it must have been a room for a family with kids or something...Breakfast was included - which was very good. Don't miss the Orange Juice while in Italy - it is deep red in color. I was surprised at first - but it tastes excellent...the room was very quiet -the bathroom extremely clean and well-maintained - again I feel it was renovated recently. Don't know if all rooms have been renovated...the location was key - right next to the train station, next to the best souvenir shopping in terms of reasonable prices, very reasonable restaurants within walking distance and the hotel was also very close to the batobus stop. Would definitely stay there next time. Ask for the room that is an extension to the hotel and which is all the way outside the building in a courtyard that you have to go through a corridor and the breakfast room. It has a toolshed outside the room too and some patio furniture outside with two sets of doors to the room. Should have noted down the room number! Enjoy your hotel hunt...and have a great trip. I was very pleased with the Hotel Villa Rosa. It was the least costly reservation I could make in Venice, and it surpassed all my expectations. Our room was tiny, but clean. It also unexpectedly had a nice size balcony, which was perfect for relaxing at the end of the night, and somewhat made up for the lack of space in the bedroom. Because this hotel was very cheap we expected the worst, but on the contrary the room was very clean (small oke, but clean!)and how much are you gonna stay in here with beautiful Venice waiting for you anyway? The matras was excellent, very rare! (even a bed in the Hilton can be crap) It was greatly situated near the waterbuses and San Marco square is only 15 minute walk away. I recommend this hotel highly and will visit it next year for sure!

Great little spot, with pretty good value for money. Breakfast could be improved a lot, though. Nice and conveniently placed to bus terminal, train station and water taxis - yet very central. Would definitely recommend it to others.

After wandering the streets of Venice at almost 2am to find the place, some locals helped us find it tucked away on a "side street." The owners were extremely nice and let us check-in at such an hour, after being delayed on an Italian train. The staff were very accomodating and made our stay worthwhile. The room was 2 twin beds with a bathroom. The room was clean but had a funny smell at first, so we slept with the window open and tried to air it out, which worked and was quite safe. The staff also allowed us to leave our luggage with them for free until we left Venice later that evening. Breakfast was decent - breads and rolls with some coffee, tea, juice, or water. I was quite pleased with the hotel, especially how kind they were.

very good relationship between price/quality of services offered - varm welcoming and extra sevices - very seldom provided by 1 star-category hotels - as 24 hours reception, free city guides and maps, brochures for tourists, etc.

Our expectations were not very high, but they have been exceeded in every aspect. Doing sightseeing trips like to Venice, all we need in a hotel, ist a clean Place to sleep and a shower. The room provided by Hotel Rosa was very small but cosy. The bathroom was equally small but fully sufficient and clean. The breakfast was as sparsley as described in the reviews we have read previously on venere.com, so there was no surprise. Booking, check in and check out has been astonishingly easy, we could even check in at 8 o'clock in the morning, on out arrival day. Overall Hotel Rosa is a bargain in low season. In high season things are different as the seasonal variations are very high.

I would definitely rate this much higher than a 1-star hotel. The room is not only clean, but decorated in a bed and breakfast fashion. The location is convenient to the train station and boats, and an easy walk to restaurants and shops. Service was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel if you don't take up much space and don't mind walking.

Was a bit expensive compared to other hotels we found, but overall was an enjoyable stay, with a nice little breakfast and in a good area of Venice very close to the train station. The only negative aspect of our stay was that they certainly pushed us out quite quickly the day of our check-out.

Only a fez steps away from the railstation and public transports. Perfect in location and decoration. But a litle expansive for the services provided. No elevator, but we recommend it anyway.

Good, quiet hotel, within walking distance from railway station. Breakfast rather poor. If this was better, the hotel would certainly rate two stars!

The room smelt to humidity but the location of the hotel is the best! It is only 100 mts away form Santa Lucia train station wich was really confortable not to carry our bags along the bridges. The price was ok compared to the rest. WE REALLY RECOMEND IT!

We loved our stay at Villa Rosa. Be warned, though, that the hotel will verify your credit card before your arrival. In my case, this was a disaster, as my wallet and credit cards had been stolen two weeks before, and I'd cancelled the credit card I used to hold the reservation. Without notifying me, the hotel checked my card, saw that it was no longer valid, and cancelled our reservation! When we arrived in the rain at 8:30 p.m., we had no reservation and the hotel was full! Also be aware that the night person doesn't speak any English. I speak Italian, so that wasn't a problem, but this would have been an even worse situation if we hadn't been able to communicate. The hotel people were very sympathetic, and we were able to find another place to stay that night, and Villa Rosa managed to find a triple to put us in for the rest of our stay (only charging us the double rate). They were very nice, there was wonderful fresh capuccino each morning, and the location near the train station, but tucked away on a quiet side street, was very convenient. The neighborhood around the train station is not my first choice, because it is very touristy, very difficult to find a good restaurant not geared to tourist fixed menus.

Nice little hotel, rooms clean and in our case not so small as described by others. Breakfast enough, friendly employees. Very good location (but not easy to find) because it's quiet, but near to the main route! And for this location cheap!

Perfectly located nice little hotel. Less than 10 minutes walk to Piazzale Roma and only a few to railway station. I wonder why it's rated only one star.

We had room #38, a double bed and a single (140euro per night). Everything was very clean, the hotel was full but room was very quiet. Breakfast was the usual bread, pastry, and coffee/hot chocolate (yummy!). Staff was very nice. Location was great, 3 minute walk from train station, 10 minute walk from the parking lot where the buses drop you off. Waterbuses everywhere so it was not a problem to get around. Murano or Burano are worth a visit. We visited at the beginning of September, we just missed the Regata, it would have been nice. It occurs the first Sunday of September, its worth a visit, its a huge boat festival. But September is very busy with tourists, its almost a drawback. Venice is increditable no matter what.

We only had one night in Venice, and as such didn't send much time in the hotel, however the Villa Rosa suited our needs. The location was excellent only a few minutes walk from the train station (we arrived and left venice by train) but as the hotel is located down a side street it is also quiet and peaceful. The room was of a standard size for the class of hotel but our bathroom was very snug perhaps too small for some. The breakfast (included) was a quick and simple affair but tasty if not plentiful. We needed somewhere to leave our luggage at the hotel until our late afternoon train, this request was pleasantly met and we were told we could leave them in the lounge area for as long as we liked. In all the Villa Rosa is a clean, friendly staffed and affordable choice if you are planning a short break to Venice.

Quiet position near station, shopping areas and sights. Charming rooms, well equiped with terrace (very small bathroom). The price is sensational for the comfort offered, better than in some four-star hotels.
