At 6 o'clock in the morning in front of our window someone started pulling some boxes into a shop. It was very loud and I couldn't sleep. The following morning (around 7 a.m.) the guests next to our room were showering and it sounded like they were doing it right next to my bed then the cleaner started hoovering. And the internet usage is far too expensive.

Very tiny triple room. The service was not always polite. Nice breakfast, though, coffee bad, and the buffet table was almost empty often and we had to wait for t ex bread, croissants.

We had a great stay in Lido, during our travel to the cities of Italy. Just two days for Venice, and we chose quite seaside outside the Venice city center. This was a great pleasure to stay in Lido. The relaxing italian seaside. Great beaches. We took vaparetto to get to Venice (consider 40 minutes to get to train station from Lido), and we spent one day at the Lido beach. We rented bicycles and saw the whole island of Lido, this was great. Villa Edera was very quite place, we had a nice room with a terrace. Good coffee for breakfast, very quite place. Centrally located, near the supermarket. If we come again to Venice i would prefer to stay at Lido for a week, to spend this time relaxinf at the beach. Would defenitely come back to Villa Edera and Lido again.

Beautiful patio area for taking breakfast, which was excellent. Hotel comfortable, friendly and well run. Good value. Was a little surprised at the request to pay on arrival, which we did only after inspecting the room (no problems). Location of hotel is convenient for waterbus stop. Would recommend.

The Villa Edera was an excellent surprise in our travel. The place is very close to the port and the Grand Viale (full of shops, cafes, and restaurants). A big plus is its proximity to the beautiful beach of the Adriatic sea. The staff is very professional and friendly. Two excellent points of the hotel are the breakfast (very generous and with multiple choices of bread, fruits, etc) and the cleanliness of the rooms. The drawbacks could be that the shower is a bit tiny and that you have to take the expensive vaporettos to go to Venice. But overall, I would stay again and I can tell that you would not regret to choice the Villa Edera whether you want to avoid the crowded Venice for an excellent price.

The hotel was beautiful and literally 5 minutes from the beaches. One of the staff members was very rude to me personally after I had my purse stolen at dinner- she was definitely less than helpful. Overall the rest of the staff was very nice and spoke excellent English. I would still recommend this hotel over many others in Lido. Please note: it is not on the regular Venice island (the island with the train station) and requires a water metro to get there. The water metro was a beautiful ride though and I would actually recommend Lido over regular Venice!

Very small, boxy rooms, the ones with balcony are charged extra! Very neat and clean though. What was really really bad, every room has ancient air conditions which are very noisy yelling fans. Multiply that noise with the number of rooms - well it feels like trying to sleep on an airport runway!!! They really need to renovate those, you have to jump out of bed to turn it off . GET NEW SILENT ONES WITH REMOTE CONTROL FOR CHRISTS SAKE !!!! Breakfast, bed, bathroom, central location was OK though. Only recommended to people who do not need any sleep!

The staff were very helpfull and the managers advice on where to eat out at night was spot on. The hotel itself was of a high standard and if we were planning to return in the future, this hotel and the island of Lido would be our choice when visiting Venice.

All staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite satisfactory - coffee was excellent. Rooms were small (10'x12') but nicely decorated and the balcony was a plus. Elevator - outside/glass - is a welcome feature; no need to drag bags up the stairs and also nice after a long touring day. On a quiet street, 5 min from water-bus.

We stayed here last year and we were very impressed with the hotel, staff and location. On our return we were welcomed like old fiends and even recieved a free bottle of wine! Staff were very helpful (especially if you are willing to try to speak Italian) and offered us some useful advice and language tips. We had to leave very early but were still given an early breakfast with no hassles. Lovely hotel which we would thoroughly recommend. But don't want to tell too many people about it, it's our secret getaway!

Stylish building in quiet residential area but noisy supermarket deliveries woke us early. Man on reception a bit officious damanding payment before we'd even seen our room, despite having my credit card details. Not a warm welcome. Room clean but small without balcony as suggested. Shower very small for largish male. If they prefer you not to smoke in rooms they should state this in listing so you know before. Very good breakfast and other staff much more pleasant which made up for initial impression. Have praised other Lido hotels so now they are always full up. Quite ironic, really. Pity La Salute was covered in scaffolding but that's life.

My friend and I had a great time at Villa Edera. It was a beautiful hotel and not a very far walk from the vaporetto. I would have loved to stay longer there, it was just so serene. The staff were very friendly, the room was very clean and bright. They offer a good breakfast selection as well!

Everything was quite accepatable and most of the staff were very nice , however I left a pair of gloves in the room after the checkout and upon request we have been informed that it wasn't found and this disappointed me because we were sure that it was in the room.

The hotel was okay, small rooms though but quiet. The front of house staff however were the rudest and most offhand that I have ever encountered. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Villa Edera was a nice break from Venice and located off the beaten path of Lido, so it provided us with a quiet residential experience. We loved Lido and its atmosphere. Our room was spacious, but our traveling companions had a much smaller room. However, it also had a bigger bathroom with a tub. The staff was curteous and helpful. It could use some new carpeting, but all in all I would stay there again. Especially since all rooms had a sitting balcony to enjoy a glass of wine from the enoteca next door!

Great hotel. The room was a little small... but overall the hotel was nice enough to make up for that. On my previous visits to Venice, I have always stayed on the main island of Venice. I enjoyed staying on Lido (not so many people, nice boat ride to the main island, great hotel) and would definitely come to this hotel again.

We stayed one night at Villa Edera in early April 07. This hotel is located in a quiet area and it is very clean. Hotel Staff are very friendly. It is decorated very nicely and my wife loved this place. It is located about 5 minutes walking distance to Waterbus. We even carried our luggage to waterbus without taking a taxi. The only downside of this hotel is room size and bathroom which are small. This was my first trip to Venice so, I can't compare it with other hotels but if we ever come back, I would definitely choose this hotel again!

Good hotel. Standard breakfast, but OK. Quiet place, away from the busses and ferries. Nearby Lido shopping street. Noise from other rooms, unfortunately. Else: splendid. To eat: try restaurant Africa (the best) and Favorita.

United Kingdom, Oct 2006
We stayed at the Hotel Villa Edera for three nights. The hotel was situated in an extremely quiet street, which meant we didn't get woken up in the morning to the sound of traffic. It was also easy to find and a short journey (approx 10/15 mins by boat) to reach the main tourist areas of Venice (e.g. St. Marks Square). Boats run frequently from Lido to Venice during the day time and there were 3 boats each hour, later in the evening. Our flight was delayed from England, which meant that we arrived in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Thankfully the staff were welcoming, even at such an early hour, and got the paperwork completed very quickly. Take some time to explore Lido. It's a lovely little island and the people are friendly.
France, Sep 2006
A good choice even if the room surface to price ratio is not that good (12 m2 / 150 euros per night) according to french standards!. The location on lido island is very good (5 minutes walk to reach the vaporettos) and the trip from lido to venice every day by vaporetto is worth it.
Mature couple
USA, Oct 2006
The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the vaporetto dock (#51 coming, #52 back to the traditional Venice). The three-day pass for 25 euros per person is worth every euro-cent. The hotel is attractive, clean, and comfortable. The breakfasts were also super. It is near several good restaurants and, more important, it is very near a very good gelateria. This will definitely be my home when next I visit Venezia. This part of Venice has cars! Bring DEET if your blood is as sweet as mine.

Hotel was clean, quaint and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were small but they were small all over Italy. Continental breakfast was delicious and there were many choices. The Hotel is about 5 short blocks from the pier where the water taxi drops you off. The hotel is located on an island called "Lido". Lido is an island that guards the Grand Canal and Venice from Mediterranean storms. It is on the extreme edge of Venice, some distance from all the attactions and of course all the noise as well. The staff will arrange a free ride and tour of "Murano Island" where all the glass comes from. You will enjoy your stay here. The only complaint I have is that Venere.com quoted me about 100 Euro's a night and it was 160 Euro's. You may want to contact the hotel for specifics. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The location of the hotel was perfect for a stay in Venice. The boats were 5 min away and the beach 10. We got a very nice room - the junior suite - with a big terrace. We heard absolutly nothing from the neighbours. The breakfast was not like home, but there is a great cafe just around the corner with superb sandwiches.

AC worked great, although I didn't like the fact that you couldn't run the air when you were out of the room. The key has to be inserted in a slot for the electric to be on. Breakfast was adequate but not fantastic. Room was not the one pictured, very small but clean. Front desk was not helpful and the daytime girl was rather stuck-up. Lobby is beautiful, too bad rooms are not as nice. Overall I would say that it was adequate but not exceptional.

We stayed during carnival so it was expensive. The venere location map shows the wrong street entirely and got us very lost - beware !!! Very handy for the vaporetta and the beaches of Lido. Eat at "ai matti" pizerria around the corner - excellent cheap food, full of locals! Staff at the hotel couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. Good breakfast, minibar, bath. No 51 Vaporetta from the Airport bus (piazza di Roma) takes 35 minutes. No 1 Vaporetta from the centre of Venice take 15 minutes and goes every 10 minutes.

Molto ben curato e pulito.

This was an OK hotel. Some negative aspects: a. the the breakfast area was too small to serve all customers, we had to wait more than once for a table to be free; b. the rooms were somewhat small and crammed. Besides these we had a pleasent stay.

The property has excellent location, close to the vaporetto station, an ideal place to explore Venice and the surrounding areas. The rooms were nice, breakfast garden is a big plus. The only thing we were not satisfied is the kindness of the staff as they were too official, even unpolite - no smile and no gestures. If we are coming back to Venice, we would choose this property again.

This was an incredible hotel for the price. Not only will I stay here again, I have already recommended the place to my friends and family. The hotel is on Lido, a short walk from the vaparetto stop. Standard double rooms are rather large, by European standards, and lavishly decorated with hand-blown Murano glass chandeliers and lamps, as well as hand-painted desks and wardrobes. The balcony was very cute, although it was too cold to really enjoy it in early April. The bathroom is very small with a toilet, bidet, shower stall, sink and towel warmer. The bidet really makes the bathroom cramped and larger-girthed travelers may have trouble navigating the bathroom. But everything was spotlessly clean and extremely quiet at night. Breakfast was a good selection of pastries, cereals, juice and cheeses and the coffee was very good. The staff was friendly enough and spoke several languages. There was no attempt to have us take the "tourist boats" to Murano, Burano or any of the other tourist traps. They also watched our bags after check-out so that we could maximize our last day in Venice. We'll definitely be back.

For the people who prefer salty food at breakfast: They did not have sausage or bacon at breakfast, but the selection was wide with sweets, boiled eggs, spread cheese and a wide selection of teas that I appreciated. The rooms are small but confortable and well decorated in a venetian style. The connection with the vaporetto from and to venice is quick and easy and runs continuously during day and even late evening. Overall, a very good choice, expecially for the winter season when everything in Venice is overpriced.

This could have been a very enjoyable stay, however, the airconditioning broke down after our first of three nights at Edera and nothing was done about it. It was 35 degrees Celsius and the room was unbearably hot. We expected a hotel like this to have their own maintenance guy to solve this kind of technical problem, but they didn't. All the receptionist could offer us was a few free bottles of water. He kept telling us the airco would be fixed, but it never was. He also didn't want to hear of any compensation and told us it wasn't his problem and we should write a letter to his boss. We noticed that new arrivals were transferred to their other hotel, but nothing was done for us. Very bad service I say.

The hotel is excellently located on the Lido for shops, restaurants, and especially the vaporetto station. The staff were polite and efficient but rather reserved, even though I spoke some Italian. My biggest complaint was the size of the room - the limited space meant shuffling sideways around the bed,; however, there were two mini balconies looking out over neighbouring leafy gardens, which compensated for the lack of space. Breakfast was pleasant but every morning I had to ask for a second cup of coffee - extras weren't volunteered. We liked the panoramic lift. Given the small room and the slightly parsimonious attitude at breakfast I would say the hotel is a little over-priced, even for Venice.

Visited in early October. Our room overlooked the local grocery store that increased noise level until store closed. Very competent concierge, breakfast was good by most Italian hotel standards with reasonable choices and excellent coffee. Very close (5 min) to vaporetto stop, and proximal to main shopping/dining in Lido. Lido was to us more appealing place to stay than Venice. Would also consider other highly ranked hotels in this vicinity.

HOTEL - We arrived in the evening to a rather moody welcoming from the male receptionist. The lobby was as could be expected from a 3 star hotel. Our double room was decorated and furnished like the pictures on Venere's website but did not reflect the tight living quarters of the room. There was also a stain on the bedspread which was still present the next day after housekeeping!! We also noticed some mould in the bathroom. Thankfully the receptionist the next day was much more approachable. Breakfast was included in the price. The boat trip to Murano island was also included however the return journey was not. That said, this trip was worth it as we saw some glass ornaments being made, a highlight on our video footage. LOCATION - The hotel is located about 5-10 mins walk from the boat-stops on Lido. It is just off a lively road which meant that it was peaceful at night time. The beach is another 10 mins walk away however we did not have time to go there so can not comment on it's quality. Near the hotel everything seems to shut quite earlier at about 11.30pm whereas on Venice mainland things shut a little later. Perhaps, we weren't there long enough to find the hotspots??!! It was nice to be off the mainland though, taking a boat 'home' each day to the tranquil Lido - good for lovers. TRANSPORTATION - We bought 2 separate tickets to get to Lido coming from Venice's Marco Polo Airport. In all the tickets cost 4.50 Euros p.p - a bus ride to Venice and then a boat ride to the island (Boat No. 51 or 61). What we should have done was purchase a three day travel ticket for 21 Euros p.p, as advised by the Travel Information Office at the airport (very helpful advice given including a free map), but we calculated incorrectly!! Basically your time starts from the moment you stamp your ticket on a bus or at a boat stop. There is also a 24 hour ticket for 10.50 Euros p.p. All tickets are valid on buses and boats. CONCLUSION - An adequate hotel if you're on a budget

A very nice and quite hotel placed on the Lido. The staff was alway very nice and competent and could give good advice for e.g. restaurants. Breakfast was OK, only the croissants had some jelly fillings - not my type :) Coffee was excellent. The heating system works also as air conditioning, it was quite loud when turned on but heated well. The shower could have been a little bigger, 2 persons did hardly fit - and I love to shower with my girl friend :) All in all, a very nice hotel, we will stay there again if we get to Venice.
