The hotel was truly excellent., more than we expected. A lovely villa, beautiful views from the turret. Very convenient both for the city and the beach of the Lido. Easy reach of the waterbus. We did have a slight problem not receiving the discounts offered on waterbuses and restaurants but this was probably due to the brevity of our stay.

Eveything was really nice. The only things that could be improved are : quality of the breakfast (industrial orange juice), bread... And a noisy dog in the house just next door (used to bark every morning at 7am). Special thanks for the welcome.

We really enjoyed our visit to Venice, primarily because the stay was good. The hotel room was on the smaller side, but if you are using it to park yourself for the night, then doesn't matter. The staff were friendly, very helpful and competent. The location is nice and accessible. Would recommend this place to others.

Wonderful location, we had the best time ever in Venice and the islands.Very nice and helpful staff, even had welcoming email weeks before arrival to the hotel, telling every detail how to get there, etc.Parking facilities only in the yard for 10 Euros, had to leave the key for changing the position of the car now and then.Well equipped room, but extremely small, we could hardly move around. Also nice breakfast, much more than the usual italian stuff.Highlights are the location, the staff, the nice gardaen and the breakfast. Also the terrace on the top.

I had a very nice stay with my son who is 5 years old. The hotel has a small but nice garden. The area was very quiet, yet the shopping streets are very close by. It was quite easy to find the hotel with the hotel website info printed with us. The observation tower was nice to see the surroundings and get some fresh air. The room was quite small but adequate. Overall experience of the hotel was very positive and would most probably come and stay here again.

We loved our stay. Location is perfect -close to ferry, beach and restaurants. Hotel very friendly and staff helpful. We booked a triple room but ended up with 2 rooms in a mini-suite. Excellent with small kids but it was in the basement. All worked well but would be better if website had given more detail. Would happily recommend Villa delle Palme.

Sehr freundliches Personal!

Wonderful stay. Staff very helpful over the phone explaining procedure of getting car on ferry to Lido, however, it would have been far more helpful if this information had been included on venere.com. Beautiful interiors, especially breakfast room. Only complaint being air conditioning stopped working on the last night of our stay (stayed for 4 nights in total). Otherwise, wonderful ambience, excellent neighbourhood. Highly recommended.

This is a great place to stay. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Some rooms may be a little small for some guests, but overall the quality of this hotel is excellent. Lido is a nice little laid-back community too. I recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our room was 27, and was quite possibly the smallest room I have ever stayed in! HOWEVER, this did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay. I have to say this is a fantastic little, family-run hotel of exceptional quality and the friendliness of the staff made it very welcoming. The location is superb, on the Lido, which is a fantastic place to stay, and the hotel is about a 3 minute walk to the Vaporetto stop into Venice. I would stay here again and can recommend it to anyone.

It was my fifth time to Venice or Lido de Venice. Villa delle Palme is a top adress for a short stay to do a sightseeing in Venice, we stay there at the end of Carneval, I was a little afraid that the traghettos are to crowded to go to Venice, but definetely no problem. I suggest to buy the three days ticket for the whole Venice traffic system (33.-€ per Person) and it is wonderful to drive through canale grande through Venice (do it as well during the night)

We stayed at the hotel during the last weekend of Carnival and got quite a bargain with Hotel Villa Delle Palme. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Everything was clean and the breakfast was quite good for a smaller hotel. The hotel is located in a nice residential neighborhood and it is less than a five minute walk to catch the waterbus to Venice. Considering the price compared to other Venice/Lido hotels, I would definitely stay here again.

a very pleasant stay. hotel is very charming, web page photos don't do it justice. room size was ok. it is in a quiet neighbourhood so no noise for us. however, it was low season and not many tourists around. breakfast a bit too early, from 8 till 9, 9.30. the only disappointment was the parking fee; upon the arrival we were told it is 5 euros per day, at the end of the stay we were charged 10 euro. the staff reccommended a great restaurant nearby, trattoria Africa.

We stayed 1 night here during our weekend in Venezia. we couldn't find the hotel immediatly because the last streetsign wasn't there and we didn't bring the adress while we thought there would be a sign. Partially our fault. The hotel is very ok. We slept in the smallest room I guess but it was fine. The have a wonderful 'balcony' on the roof where you can enjoy the view and the sun. Breakfast was great. Good choice and quality. Bringing your car is not so smart. They have a parking that costs €10,-. Not for your stay but for every day you leave it there. Very close, 3 minutes walk, to the efficient public transport on water.

I went here together with my girlfriend. The hotel is located 45 minutes from the airport if you take the Lilaguna. We got the "dreaded" room around the corner from the reception. We could hear the telephone ringing through the wall. This was not a particular problem for us, because it was quiet in the evening and we are both very heavy sleepers... Breakfast was good, but we missed fresh fruit. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I'd like to pass on their recommendation to visit the beach, just som 400-500 meters from the hotel. The vaporetto is just 15-20 minutes away from central Venice. This is a good thing in my opinion as the ride there is _very_ beatiful. When we return to Venice in the future I would definitely consider returning to Villa Delle Palme.

Clean and safe. Good for families. My family of four stayed there and it was a very comfortable stay. We were welcomed by name and the employees/managers personally introduced themselves. The front desk was always "manned" at least at the times we came and went. Lido is a beautiful island with plenty of non-touristy things to do and almost everything is within walking distance on the island. Easy water bus ride to Venice takes less than 15 minutes. We would stay there again.

This was better than the Hilton Milano Stucky on Guidecca which we stayed the next day. Stefano was great and the rooms were clean and beautiful. Everyone made us feel welcomed. Next time we would only stay on Lido and at the Villa Delle Palme. The cuppola at the top made the trip exceptional. Grab your kids and a glass of wine and drink in Venice.

It is a small 3 stars hotel in Lido. For location, it is not far...only walk 5 mins to the pier and 10 mins to St. Mark. It is a quiet place and easy to find. Our room is on the ground floor. The decoration is new and overall tidy. We've been different cities in Italy which is the most nice person we meet in reception. Other staff is also nice. The place for breakfast is classic euorpean style. We like it. For the disadvantages, we think it is not clean enough. We found pieces of sand and dust in the bed sheet. Also, the staff is not careful enough. We found a glasses in the room which may belong to the previous guests, I guess. We feel a bit strength becoz the room is facilited for disabled. Overall rating should be slightly better than average. In Venice, the rate is acceptable.

Very welcoming staff. Ideal location if you do not mind not being in the center. It's ideal to retreat back from the noise of central touristy Venice to the Lido, and you are only 25 minutes away from all the sites (a scenic boat ride takes you there).

Very easy to find from the airport. Vaparetto to lido then just a five minute walk from the landing point to the hotel. The staff at the desk are very helpful and extremely polite. Lido is wonderful for a more relaxed holiday. The city is a twenty minute vaparetto ride away and the beach is a ten minute walk. Lots of good restaurants nearby with better food and prices than in the tourist hub of the main city areas. Waterbus service runs all night so no problem if you have a late night in the city. Would definitely recommend this very beautiful villa hotel to anyone seeking a true taste of the relaxed side of Venetian life.

A small pleasant hotel in a quiet location with a very helpful manager. Overall stay very good but impression diminished as a result of noise caused by staff. We stayed in Room 20, around a corner from Reception. On two nights staff members carried on a loud, apparently social, conversation late at night. It was necessary to ask them to be quite. With the small size of the Reception area and the immediate proximity of three guest rooms staff should be aware of the sound impact and be more respectful of the quests. Rooms 21, 22 and 23 are exposed to noise in the lobby and breakfast room although we were only bothered by staff at night. Upstairs rooms are likely quieter but can only be accessed by a long, steep staircase. Breakfast is a good and varied continental presentation with excellent service and the view from the tower above the roof is great. Surrounding area is a pleasant residential neighborhood with nearby restaurants and the hotel is a short walk to the Vaporatto stop with frequent service to everywhere in Venice. It was good to return to the quite of Lido after a day in the bustle of Venice and to have the option to get back and forth easily. It was also good to be able to take the boat from the airport to Lido and walk, with rolling luggage, to the hotel. Even with the noise problem we would stay at the hotel again but would request an upstairs room.

Located on the long island of Lido just south of Venice, Hotel Villa Delle Palme was a welcome, clean, quiet respite from the hustle, bustle and commerce of Venice proper. The short ride on the water bus from the train station to Lido was easy and when we asked a taxi driver for a ride to the Hotel Villa Delle Palme, he explained it's "just three blocks down, half a block to the left" so we saved cab fare and took the short walk. The next day, we took the water bus back to Venice and spent the day. We bought 72 hour tickets and it was worth it to avoid getting tickets every time and we actually saved money because we took the water bus a lot. Hotel Villa Delle Palme had one of the best breakfasts we ever had. Fresh meats and cheese, rolls, coffee, danish, cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice, milk and more. The hostess was really friendly and attentive and helped us enjoy the breakfast. The staff helped us with transportation, restaurants and other concerns. Very professional. At the hotel, be sure to walk up to the tower and get a 360 degree view of the water and Lido. Restaurants, bars, a bank and shopping is close. Going to the store for bread, cheese and meat makes a tasty and very economical meal. Hotel Villa Delle Palme was clean, classy and a great place to stay in Venice.

We stayed here for 3 days prior to our cruise. This was easy to find, staff were most helpful in providing a good map of Venice, public transit and restaurant information. Breakfast was very good but some fresh fruit would have made it perfect. We were carrying a lot of luggage in anticipation of widely varying weather over the course of our vacation so the room was a bit small to hold all that we had in an orderly fashion but it was bigger than we would have had right in Venice. The bathroom was huge and the towel warmer so luxurious after a day out and about. We hope to have the opportunity to stay in this establishment again! Venere.com gave us the information we needed to make a great choice.

The most unique feature of this hotel is the observation cupola and tower deck on top. Great for sunrise or sunset. The staff varied in competence and affability, but the gentleman we saw most (Stefan, I believe) was absolutely great: warm, informative, conversational. The internet on their computer was problematic: The connection was slow, the rate timing mechanism was messed up, the system froze a number of times so that Email never went out, and the cost was rather expensive compared to more efficient commercial alternatives in Venice. The breakfast was good not great. It was only about 3 blocks from the vaporetto stop, which got you across the bay to Venice in minutes, and was always fun and very economical with our pass. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very nice, great surroundings, lovely views from the top of the tower, nioce decorations. A real problem was the size of the room as you could not move in it. With approx. 10 m² it just had the bed in it - a desaster with two persons trying to share the room. We have tried to change the room but we were informed that it was fully booked and that was the room type we have choosen in the internet.

Perfect spot for staying on the Lido. Room nr. 33 on top floor (no elevator available!) is very small (or should I say 'compact'). Perfect view from the roof over Lido to Venice. Breakfast is OK, but not a surprise after 4 nights. Ask for capucino instead of the american coffee. Airco is in the room! In short: very OK if you do not have to spend a long time in your room.

All the staff are warm & welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay a great one. We stayed 5 nights & enjoyed it. The bathrooms are immaculate & new, a priority for me. Breakfast is included in the rate; you will LOVE this hotel

We absolutely loved our stay at the Villa Della Palme. After spending some time in hotels in the cities of Roma and Florence, it was most enjoyable to get the peaceful atmosphere on Lido. The vaporetto "water bus" runs every frequently and gets you into Venice in abut 10 minutes. We bought the 48 hour pass and it was very worthwhile. Hotel was the best we stayed in during our trip to Italy! They recommended the nearby "Africa" restaurant which was also superb.

Even though the hotel is located on the Lido di Venizia access to Venice is quick and easy. The staff was wonderful and we had a very pleasant time.

I stayed the 4th time at this hotel and is getting better every time. No complaints whatsoever. Most of the other guests were couples in the middle age.

What a lovely hotel. This is very reasonably-priced, spotlessly clean and immaculately decorated and I now wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Venice. Lido island is a great alternative to staying on Venice itself as it's quieter but still only a few minutes boat ride from St Marks. The staff in the hotel were great- very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good too- typical continental fayre- croissants, rolls, cheese, hams, yoghurt, cereal, fruit juices, coffee, etc. The room we had was a decent size- ok, not huge, but perfectly adequate, and the bathroom was enormous! The view from the tower on top of the hotel was breathtaking so well worth the climb. All-in-all, we were really delighted with the place and are already planning a return trip later in the year.

Arrived on Lido direct from the airport via the Alilaguna Line water bus.A short walk from terminal. (12 euros per person. Buy ticket from quayside booth.)We only had website map and realised quite soon it was not too easy to follow. A kindly gentleman saw that we were not sure where we needed to go and after a quick look at our map personally escorted us to the hotel gate. How nice was that. In reallity it is only 5 mins from water bus stop. Cross road, walk down Gran Viale S M Elisabetta Road, take 1st right, pass two fountains (1st one working, 2nd not)canal will appear on right, take small bridge on right hand side and you are now in the hotel road. Hotel about 100yards on the left. Very friendly staff who recommended some nice places to eat on Lido and put us in the picture regards water buses. Piazza S Marco is only four stops on the Number 52 about 20mins. We bought 72hr passes from airport terminal (30 euros each) and you very quickly get the hang of things. Hotel was everything we needed, not that we were there much and made a great base from which to explore Venice. I recommend a excursion to Murano famous for glass making. A nice break from the hustle and bustle of Venice where you can pick up a nice souvenier or two. If you walk the length of the main road Gran Viale S M Elisabetta you will reach the beach (about 10 min walk)Not the cleanest or best in the world but nevertheless worth a look for half an hour or so after a day in Venice. We had a wonderful time and would return again. Don't worry about the small showers mentioned in other reviews. I had no problem getting in. Don't hesitate. go for it and you will also have a great time.

The hotel is beautiful, clean and well-appointed, friendly staff as well and an adequate breakfast provided. While we received an excellent rate, keep in mind that you will have to pay about 6 Euros each way for each person to go back and forth on the Vaporetto to the heart of Venice, so this can add to time and costs if you are staying for a few days. (check out the 72-hour pass) Our room was a little small, and the shower was tiny. A large person, (and I don't necessarily mean obese) would have a tough time fitting into it.

i spent 2 good day in Venice with my boyfriend and at the beginning i was worried that the Lido would have been difficult to reach from the centre af Venice and the hotel hard to find. i was positively surprised finding out that the hotel has been so easy to reach and in a cute, peaceful place in the town. the room was ok, a pretty room with all the necessary but the bathroom was a little dirty and the double bed was unconfortable to sleep in...

Very nice hotel! Stay there! They are so kind! We (Family, 1 child) felt very comfprtable. Rooms can be heated (winter)!! In the near surrounding you find nice trattorias and restaurants and supermarkets. The transver SanMarco takes about 15 minutes - 5min walk + 10min Bus transfer. But DON'T TRUST THE WATER-BUS-PLAN AT THE RECEPTION! We missed our plane, because of an old scedule. We'll come again!

The only thing that should be changed is the type of / quality of the breakfast: There was nothing else offered than cake!, sweet croissants and marmelade for the rolls. Obviously the Italians do not really like to have breakfast at all, but any kind of continental breakfast would not be the worst choice. A lot of the guests (from different countries)brought their own saussages and cheese while having breakfast!

This hotel was really ok for that price, just remember it is not in Veneze but in Lido, so.... The breakfast was nothing special, but it was ok. We were on the basement floor, behind the reception. We could hear the phone, but the main noise comes from the other gasts. We would stay again in this hotel, the people on the reception were really specially kind and the hotel was phantastic.

We just visited Venice for one day, which is poorly enough, and thus just stayed one night. For that purpose the hotel was next to perfect. The only thing we noticed, dew to the mediterranean climate of the laguna, there was some fungus in the shower. Those guests who like to start the day with ham & eggs, sausage and cheese will be dissapointed. You will get a mediterrainian breakfast with croissants, jam an little cakes. Overall we would recommend the Villa warmely.

Nice quiet hotel, but the rooms are very small. They are a lot smaller than they look on the photos. The shower is the smallest I have ever seen. A big person would not be able to enter the shower. When I washed my hair, my elbows hit the glass of the shower panels, simply no space. I have a normal - slim build and am 1.7m tall. The breakfast was very good by Italian standards. The staff were friendly. I would return.

Very pleased, lovely hotel, much better than the 3-stars we stayed in elsewhere in Italy. Recently remodeled. I highly recommend staying in quiter, beautiful Lido and take boat to other islands in Venice. Front desk very helpful, and breakfast better than most. P.A.

we stayed a Villa Delle Palme for 4 days in May and it was a great alternative to staying in Venezia. Less expensive for a much quieter environment while extremely convienently located. Very pleasant hotel, lovely garden, matching exactly the description and comments on the site. It is true that the rooms are on the small side (although not more so than in other hotels of the same type), but they are very clean and pleasantly decorated. I warmly recommend it and would definitely stay there again.

Enjoyed our stay on Lido Island. Plenty of resturants to choose from, and reasonable for the most part. Hotel in residential area, so it provided a quiet place to stay. Unfortunately the staff at the hotel proved to be dishonest. I checked our charges on our credit card when we got home, and found that they charged us twice for our stay. E-mailed them 5 times, and they responded once to say they would check into it. They ignored my last two or three e-mails. Have never heard from them again, and they never corrected their mistake, and obviously have no plans to do so. I had to turn it over to our credit card company in order to get it taken care of. They are in the process now in handling this. Obviously this has been a big disappointment to us in the way we have been treated. Future clients to this hotel-be careful. My e-mails were to Stefano.

If you want to visit Venice and staying just a little off, the Lido is the perfect location. This villa is at a 4 minutes walk from the vaporeto station which is at 10 minutes from San Marco plaza; a beautiful ride. In addition, you are at 8 minutes walking to the beaches of the Lido. This is a perfect location, away from the crowd, that you can reach by car using the ferry from Venice to the Lido, so you can park your car at the villa. The villa is perfect, rooms are in the venitian style, washroom a little small but ok. Very good choice.

The hotel is situated on the island of Lido which is physically close to Venice main island but Lido is very uninteresting itself. To reach Venice from Lido you have to catch the vaporetto which is a samll ferry which cost 5 euros each time you use it and children pay same. It end up being a very expensive and inconvenient option to stay on Lido reather than Venice itself. The other islands around Venice are more intereting and easier to access. These facts were not highlighted in any way in the advertising blurb of the hotel.

The hotel fulfills everything that had been mentioned positively in other comments that I read before having chosen this hotel. The staff is welcoming, helpful, and the service friendly and well. The room is beautifully decorated in Venetian style and with a large adjacent room with couch. Only a little chilly inside, despite the heating, in january even Venice is really cold, what makes it so is the humidity. Breakfast was Italian style, no variation, few rolls so don´t get up too late. Anyway, best choice, well situated at the Lido, Lido is no problem at all, 5 mins. to waterbus which goes every 10 mins. even by night and takes 15 mins. to San Marco. Have fun!!
