We decided to take a 5 day break and had a lovely stay at hotel Villa Beatrice. It was the perfect place to return to after walking around the busy streets of Venice all day. The rooms are quiet, clean and spacious. The hotel owner Beatrice is very pleasant and helpful, she speaks very good English and this was to our advantage as our Italian is rather poor! It is located close to a wonderful little restaurant called Trattoria Scarpa which is well worth the visit, they make the most amazing risotto di pesce. There are a few bars close by too. The bar at the hotel was always closed or unattended, although there was a mini bar in the room so this wasnt a problem. We would certainly stay at Hotel Villa beatrice again if we Visit Venice in the future. The public transport system in both Venice and Lido was fantastic, I would highly reccommend getting a pass that covers you for the duration of your trip, buy it as soon as you arrive in Venice (from the ticket booth) by the water bus station. We didn't do this straight away and we subsequently ended up spending more than we needed to! you will save a small fortune as you can hop on and off as many buses and boats as you want just by producing your pass. Be careful of charges whilst eating out, if you go to a restaurant they will charge you a cover charge of at least €2 and also a mandatory service charge varied between 12-18% depending where you choose to dine, also the menu's can be very expensive so it is always best to check before you sit down! Venice is possible to visit on a budget. My husband and I found the local supermarket on the Lido and had picnics in the daytime to help keep our costs down. The ice cream in Venice is delicious, eat as much of it as you can!

Breakfast was very good. The rooms looked like they needed a thorough spring clean as opposed to a 'cat lick'. The bikes were very old and not road worthy. The carpark was non existent. There was room for one car only and the electronic gate kept getting stuck. Toiletries, and in deed toilet rolls, were very few and far between. We ate at La Scarpa restaurant near to the hotel and could highly recommend that.

Very friendly, good value accommodation in an expensive area. Would definitely go again. Could pay a little more attention to detail re cleanliness of floor in bedroom but all in all, "tres sympa".

We had a great time over there, Beatrice is a wonderful hostess, I think that the only big but to the hotel would be the distance between Venice and Lido and the fact that the hotel is actually at the very end of the island, out of that, everything was wonderful, I would go back for sure…

A real nice little hotel. Unfortunately it takes you quite long to get to the center of Venice.

This was a quiet, peaceful place to escape the busyness of Venice--though a bit of a bus ride/drive. Excellent room considering it was for 3. Very good breakfast too.

We stayed for 2 nights & it was wonderful as it wasn't crowded & is tucked away in a quiet area (some might find this scary as it was quite a long trip to find this place) Lido in itself is a nice area, away from the hustle & bustle of Venice mainland. The watertaxis are great to connect both areas.

We had an enjoyable stay, although from the pictures of the rooms on the internet our one was slightly disappointing. Also it is not indicated on the internet that you have to get a bus from Lido to Alberoni in order to access the hotel. It was peaceful, with a large breakfast and friendly staff. To anyone wanting to see Venice over 4 or 5 days I wouldn't recommend staying here, the travelling to and fro is tedious. But if you want to escape the chaos of Venice, this hotel will suit your demands.

The Hotel is very good. Very clean rooms with a decent breakfast set into a room overlooking the yard which is great in morning when the sun is up. Hotel is full with paintings which gives it a certain flair. The location is good, only about 20 min from dock and thereafter 10-15 min from San Marco Piazza. Just beware if you're allergic to cats as my allergies flaired up and was sneezing for sometime. It's very recommendable.

We loved our stay in Villa Beatrice very much. The house is charming, nice and quiet, the garden is wonderful, and everything is done with great senstitivity and care. The nice sandy beach of Alberoni is a few hundred meters away and easy to reach with the provided bicycles. Alberoni self is rather modest. We loved just to leave the car for our whole stay, and use the buses and vaporettos with 72-hours tickets. WE LOVED OR STAY, AND WOULD COME BACK ANY TIME!!! Hans + Mia

Wonderful to return to the peace of the villa after being in Venice. The location, especially with always available bicycles, was perfect: 5 minutes from the ferry to Pellestrina and the 'countryside', and a bus ride to the boat for Venice itself. Complete contrast. Price v reasonable.

This place is a gem. The owners were extremely helpful, and the garden and grounds beautiful.Extraordinary original artwork decorates the lobbies and rooms. A great place to relax, near the beach - but about 45 minutes to Venice.

Very nice place very welcoming and helpful the only downside was that we were given a faulty key so when we came back very late one night we couldnt open the main front door so we had to ring the bell the following day beatrice was really apologetic and helpful.

Perfect place for a holiday. In 15-20 minutes -by bus- you're at the waterbus station, so the city is not very far from it. I can suggest to anyone. If we go to Venice next time, we will choose Villa Beatrice again.

Villa Beatrice was very clean and comfortable and the price was good. My room was next to the reception area, so I was woken up about midnight by people talking. I'm sure there wouldn't be the same problem with the other rooms. It is a long way out - from the Lido a bus is required to Alberoni, which is basically at the end of a spit of land. There is a mediocre beach and apparently a golf course but there are no good restaurants or shops nearby. Although it was well priced at 70 Euros, there are costs in relation to time and money in getting to Villa Beatrice.

Though the location is nice and quiet, the place itself was not. There was noise due to a kind of private party. The service is "on the minimum" level, the room considered the price relatively small. The description of being close to San Marco is misleading, because it takes 25 MInutes Bus or your own car to get to the ferry. Both to the mainland as also to San Marco. Altogether the level of private accomodation leaves you with all the bad aspects of this without providing the possibly nicer ones. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this for a stay, unless all other places are booked.

Villa Beatrice: - there was mildew on the ceiling in our bathrom, this was very disgusting - even with heating completely switched on, the bath room did not get warm - we were welcome by an unshaved and apparently drunken man - Overall: I would not call this Villa a "charming Hotel" Web page: - Location should be updated to Euros instead of lira - Location / Getting there: one sentence should be added for getting there by plain: Arrived at Lido, take Bus B to Alberoni (0,77 Euros per person), get off at the third last station in Alberoni (it takes around 15 min) - Location / Getting there: a small map of Lido/Alberoni should be added too

I was enchanted with Villa Beatrice and Beatrice herself. The stay was wonderful and by Venice's standards very well priced. This is at the farest end of Lido, so when another reviewer said it was off the beaten path, they were quite correct. Had we not driven on Lido, it might have been a bit far. I did not experience the busses on Lido itself, but the ferry service from Lido to Venice Proper as well as all the Venetian islands is excellent. If I return to Venice in the future, I have no doubt that this is where I will stay.

This is my second trip to Venice and both tims I have chosen to stay on the Lido. The Villa Beatrice is several miles from the Santa Maria Elizabetta vaporetto station, but it's charm and quite make this out of the way destination worth the trip.
