Our experience in Villa Albertina was bad. There was, in our case, fully disregard to us.The pictures you can see on the website, that shows you, helpful and friendly hosts are not consistent.Neither people who gives you breakfast, just answer when you say good morning. Free Internet access does not exist, it costs 2 euros 15 minutes. The bathroom was full of flies.

Nice place on Lido. Room was large and clean. Communication was tricky since we do not speak Italian, but we managed. Hotel was quiet in the off season. Getting to Venice's main island requires approximately a half hour walk to the waterbus station and at least a twenty minute bus ride (depending on the destination).

Very nice family-run hotel - lovely and comfortable rooms, spotlessly clean! Delicious breakfast (with wonderful freshly baked croissants and a great buffet, served in a bright breakfast room). Estremely friendly staff, the owners gave a lot of useful information about restaurants, sights,.. Location of Villa Albertina is perfect- in quiet area, but at the same time close to vaporetto stop - it is very easy and exciting to use public transporations here in Venice! We loved our romantic stay in Villa Albertina and will certainly be back!

We stayed in the "Amedeo" dungeon: this is not a room, this is a penalty for the traveller, in the basement. The whole place is a joke. A really unpleasent place to stay. I would not recommend it even to my enemies.

The breakfast so bad. The reception employee treated us like he was doing us a favor. He gave us the keys of the house and the room and explained everything in one minute, he didn´t know anything at all of the public services and transportation in the city. The air conditioned didn´t work

The hotel room is spacious and have a comfy bed. Bathroom is big but for some reason the shower area is very small. It is Feb when I was there so it is a bit chilly. I prefer catching a bus from the pier in Lido to save myself from walking 15 min in the neighbourhood of Lido in the cold weather. Since I am staying in Venice for 3 days only so next time I would stay on the main bit of the town. Nice breakfast in a cute dining room. Overall a nice hotel if you don't mind the trouble of catching a relatively infrequent ferry and bus to get to the hotel

We were well pleased with Villa Albertina. We didn't mind too much that we were in a basement room - but next time we will hopefully be in the main Villa! Everything else was lovely - it's really easy to find on the island - it's signposted all the way from the Vaporetto stop and the staff were all exceptionally nice. Nice breakfast also.

Quiet and nice place! Wonderful with the little and nice garden, which gave us parents a possibility to have a chat and a glas of wine in the nights, while children were saftley sleeping or looking television. Good service and exellent supervisions. Close to buss stop and beach gives Villa Albertina an extra plus!

It was a lovely location and quite a treat from the bustle of the tourist crowd in Venice. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, and the service was very competent. I would stay here again and recommend it to my friends

The hotel was a quaint, homey stay. The atmosphere was great, and as we were walking in they were finishing cleaning, which they did an amazing job with. We were three people and there were two single beds and one what seemed to be a queen size bed. It was on the island of Lido, which I'm sure is the perfect spot in the summer by the beach, but we were there in February for Carnevale and had to take the waterbus to the main island. The staff was very friendly, but gave us the wrong information about the breakfast time, which was slightly frustrating in the morning. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely return if we travelled back to Venice.

The room was perfect, clean and spacious! Excellent buffet breakfast! I would certainly stay again and recommend it to others.Thank you Villa Albertina for making my stay in Venice perfect!

The Hotel is mostly comfortable however I would not recommend anyone staying at this hotel. The owner who goes to great lengths on his web site to show a friendly, family business is both very arrogant and dismissive towards his guests and very is unhelpful. After taking our money he could not even bother to say thanks and goodbye or even raise a smile. There is a lot of noise both in and around the hotel and in the two nights stayed here we had about six hours sleep because there is no one on site to complain to about the noise levels. The hotel is surrounded by apartments, do not be fooled by the "villa" photos. People were coming in at all hours and groups of related guests were having parties until 2 or 3 in the morning. The sound insulation is very poor. Some of the rooms are directly accessed from the Hall/Reception area. The breakfast is poor quality and mean unlike elsewhere in Italy where we found the quality very high in the 2 weeks we spent travelling around the country. If you want a pleasant experience in Venice and Venice Lido I would not recommend staying here unless you are Italian or like noise and mayhem.

Che fortuna, we found Villa Albertina by chance on the Internet and were delighted with the serenity, hospitality and generosity of our hosts. The hotel is run in a very familiar and cozy way, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We had a very romantic room, well heated, with a large bathroom and all amenities! The breakfast is delicious, with a big choice of different food and in the mornings the hotel is fullfilled by the wonderful smell of the freshly baked bread and croissants! Thanks to Amadeo's perfect information and recommendations we had our finest seafood dinner at Ai Murazzi! We were really delighted with the place and are already planning to come back again next year!

Our 6-day stay at the Villa Albertina was extremely pleasant and met the expectations we had on the basis of the information and photos on the Internet. This hotel is well managed, the owners and staff were very helpful in every way. The location is excellent, with the beach within just a few minutes walk. The bus service is good and regular, so the complete trip from the hotel's front door to the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop in Venice is only about 20-25 minutes in all. Our decision to stay on the Lido island, and especially at the Villa Albertina, was absolutely right, and we shall not hesitate to do the same the next time we visit Venice.

A spacious 2 room + bath location at the front of the 2nd floor was perfect for 2 adults and 2 children (12,14). The hotel looked to be a converted large house and had the feel of a nice bed&breakfast type of accomadation. A 2-3 block walk to the beach and on the bus route back into town. The staff was helpful for our late arrival (past 8 pm).

Lovely hotel in a quiet location about 20 minute stroll into the centre of the Lido, although there is a bus stop at the end of the street if you prefer. Bar/Restaurant at the end of the street and within a couple of minutes walk lots of local bars and cafes. The hotel rooms are very spacious with lovely antique furniture and a great power shower. Breakfast is basic - juice, coffee, cereals and bread - but more than adequate and you can sit outside in the sunshine in the lovely garden with your coffee if you prefer. There is no bar here for an early evening drink but there is a bar within 25 yards and a couple of good restaurants but we walked down into the centre of the Lido each evening. Taxi back was only 10 euros. You can walk to the beach in ten minutes. Vaparetto runs to the Lido all night from the centre of Venice so no problems if you fancy a night in the centre of Venice. Would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay but you do have walk so not ideal for everyone.

This was the first time we stayed at this hotel and he found several problems: the employees are not very friendly, the rooms have very old-fashioned furniture (they need an urgent renovation)and the worst problem was that the room and the bathroom were very, very cold. During summer it's not important but in december they should have a better heating system. Definetely, I would not recommend this hotel to stay during winter.

Well situated, convenient to buses for boat connection to Venice or the beach of Lido. Comfortable, quiet, adequate facilities, great breakfast with very friendly helpful staff (Tanya). The only small problem we experienced - no shaver plug in the bathroom, room was a little small for the very nice old style furniture, shutters were a little difficult to close, bathroom could benefit from an extractor fan - very stuffy.

Hotel is very far from pier. It's about 15 minutes by walk. There is no welcome drink as it is mentioned on website. There is only one Employee working there and she speaks little English. Even the manager speaks little English. There is a lot of chances no one is on duty at counter. Shower curtain is broken. No heater when it is raining and cold in Spring time while other hotels still provide it. Towels and soap are not changed and offered every day. Penalty is charged every day if you want to cancel any day stay while other hotels won't charge it. Free glass factory tour should be reserved one day before, but manager won't tell you about this. Room is half-basement and the hotel rate is high compared to other same standard hotel.

I and my friends had a lovely time. Yes, it's in Lido but it only take about 20 mins overall to reach San Marco. Very close to bus stop and only 3 stops to pier with no traffic. There is a convenient store almost right opposite. Breakfast is a bit flimpsy though, only bread, butter, jam and pate'. Overall is excellent.

You can stay at a lot more fancy hotels on Lido but if you want to save some money on the accomodation then this hotel could be a good alternative. It's nice, the location is ok (about 10 min walk from the ferries), service is ok, it's got a little garden and the rooms are also ok. Plus that they have room for your car if you arrive that way. Overall impression is ok, not more not less.

How to reach Hotel Villa Albertina

By car
From the motorway, exit at Venezia and cross the long bridge over the lagoon. From Tronchetto-Venezia take the ferry-boat with car transportation service, running every 50 minutes, which brings you in about 30 minutes directly to the Lido. Once in Lido, when you get off the ferry turn right and proceed, for approximately 3 km, along via S. Gallo. You will eventually see, on the left side of the street, the sign for Ristorante Artigliere. Then, 200 metres after that, you will encounter the sign for Villa Albertina. Turn left onto our street and park your car in our garden.

By train
From the Santa Lucia railway station, take the public ferry-boat line number 51, which brings you in about 35 minutes directly to the Lido. From the Lido centre the hotel is best reached by taxi.

By airplane
From Venice's Marco Polo airport, take the public ferry-boat line Alilaguna, run by the Cooperativa San Marco company. The boat leaves every hour and will bring you directly to the Lido centre, in about 40 minutes (two stops before Piazza San Marco). From the Lido centre the hotel is best reached by taxi.

From Treviso airport, there will be a shuttle bus organised by your airline company which will bring you directly to Piazzale Roma in Venice. From there you take the public ferry-boat lines numbers 51 or 61, which bring you to Lido centre in about 35 minutes.
