It was a very nice place to stay. Kindly staff and shining rooms, also near all principal places to see in Venice. I had a very glad stayed in this hotel!!

Typically Italian rooms with stone floors and comfortable beds. The hotel is only a short walk from the Vaporetto stop San Toma and is surrounded by narrow, picturesque alleys. It is excellent value for money and we would definitely stay there again.

On the web page heating was indicated. We stayed at HTL from 14.10.-18.10.09, outside temperature during night about 6 degrees and heating worked only in the bathroom for 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. We were freezing. Reception personal explained that heating is controlled by government and they just offered another blanked, nothing else like radiator. This was really poor. Special hint for heating should be indicated on web page that there is a heating but will only work according to government regulations and is not under customers control.

Everything was fine, good location, room very small but nice and clean, very nice courtyard where you have breakfast or sit during the day. The big problem with my room (no 12) was the noise. The windows are above the kitchen of a restaurant with constant noise during the day. The small street in front of the hotel was under construction and therefore covered with wooden planks, so you could hear every single step...

Had a quiet room as requested. Issue: Breakfast served only from 8:00 AM to 09:30 AM (this is an issue if you want to leave early or want to have a late breakfast on a Sunday). A bit pricy considering the locatio (not San Marco).

While there in the "off season" it was still busy in Venice - especially noticeable since the walkway under our window was covered in a temporary boardwalk and the tromping of visitors was extremely audible. The hotel had nothing to do with this, though, and earplugs were the only answer. The other problem for me was that I asked for extra pillows when we came home from dinner and was told I'd have to wait until tomorrow for the house staff to give them to me - other hotel's desk staff just quickly popped open the storeroom and got them out for me. For some reason that left a bad taste in my mouth - what was the problem with getting them? Other than that, the room was lovely, minus the noise, and the amenities well provided.

Nice hotel in a particularly interesting part of Venice. Large square with many restaurants and a supermarket was just a few minutes away. Breakfast buffet was ok. The only problem for families with small children could be the absence of an elevator.

My room (single witouth a bathroom) was rather small but clean and I had a view to Frari church tower :), stuff was helpfull although could be a bit nicer (the old lady on reception however was very nice), it was excellent value for money, especially having in mind prices in Venice, excellent position, the only problem was noise coming from neighbourhood in the morning - I wonder if the hotel stuff can do something about it!

Nice hotel, reasonable price. I'd actually booked a single room, but when it turned out that the room hadn't been made up, the receptionist quickly moved me to a rather better double at the same price. Breakfast a bit stingy, and area outside the hotel seemed to be in the middle or renovation work (in Feb 2009).

Good location and service. It is far from a luxury facility, and not right in the center of things, but to stay in Venice for the price we paid and have access to a quieter part of Venice a short distance from the Vaporetto stop was appreciated.

Room was clean and surprisingly spacious (for a single in Venice); overlooked an inner courtyard and was very quiet at night. Hotel is superbly located--just a short walk to the Frari or the Campo Sta Margarita; vaporetto stop (S. Tome) close by. Would highly recommend staying here.

I cannot fault this hotel. it was better than I expected.m We arrived very late but were welcomed and they rang a restaurant to get us in for a meal. position was ideal and very clean and comfortable. Would not be suitable for disabled people but for a central location is perfect. We walked from there to Piazza Roma one way and to St Marks square over the rialto bridge the other way. if i get back to Venice would book to stay there again.

Beds were quite short and narrow. The sanitary equipment was not old, but of poor quality, it had seen better times and close to collapse. The breakfast buffet was quite good for Italy, they tried to do placement by room number, but that wasn't obvious (and not noticed :-)) Regarding the "lots" of guests, why would would you sit in a dark corner, when there is a free table at the window??

The hotel is located in an excellent area in Dorsoduro. Near a vaporetto station and very near campo Santa Margherita (our favorite area). Apart from the fact that there was NO heating during the last weeks of October (very bad), we were generally pleased with the hotel. A bit expensive for 130e but very central. Breakfast also very good. I would stay there again.

Hotel Tivoli was the perfect location for first time arrivals into Venice, not far from where the airport bus leaves you at the Piazzale Roma, easy to find, close to resonably priced Venician restaurants and walking distance to the Rialto Bridge, Scuola di San Rocco, and the university area of Ca'Foscari. It was very clean with a lovely court yard area where you could rest from the throng of the laneways.

The room was big but the shower was a hole in the bathroom! So when you used it the floor (very small) was like a swimming pool. It was located in a nice street (in the touristic way to rialto) and the neighbourhood was nice. The hotel was comfortable, the staff was kind and the breakfast was good.

The folks from Tivoli responded to my confirmation email, and had a very nice lady upfront the day I got there. She gave us weather report for next couple of days!

This hotel is not a five star hotel, more like a two star and my ratings are based on what I expected to get for a $135 Euro quad room. The ratings are are high because we were pleasantly suprised. We found Tivoli to be a delight and one of the few places where we were able to locate a quad room. It was also one of the cheaper (if not the cheapest)we were able to find. It was not a large room but very adequate to catch a few winks and a shower plus the entire hotel had a definite old European flavor which was charming. We did not find the absence of an elevator much of an inconvenience (we were on the third floor) but after slepping our bags from the airport to Plaza Roma and on the waterbus--what's a couple stairs. We were greeted by name as we entered the door and enjoyed the breakfast in a cute little area with old beam ceilings where every room has their own table. The courtyard was nice also although we didn't have time to spend there. The folks at the desk spoke great English and steered us to a great place to eat only a few steps down the street that was very reasonable. In spite of some comments I read on various blogs, they gladly took my VISA card. Because many others had commented about difficulty finding Tivoli, I did my homework with the street maps before I got to Venice and we walked from the San Toma waterbus stop to the hotel without a misstep. If you are looking for a place on the canal with all the high priced hotel amenities then this is not the place for you, but I would higly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a fun little place to stay for a VERY reasonable price. We will DEFINITELY return if we ever go back to Venice.

Venice is really a maze, especially in night. Tivoli is a very friendly hotel with warmful decorations. My boyfriend think it's a little old, but I think it makes Tivoli more like home. The door of the washroom sometimes makes some noise itself. Anyway, quality of Tivoli is very excellent according to the price. If I can go to venice again, I will sure choose Tivoli again.

Seems a little expenisive for a 2* hotel, but it is worth the price. Room was a good size with an en-suite bathroom. TV incl in room. Breakfast was ok, a buffet with choices of yogs, cereals bread and croissants. about 10-15mins wal to the grand canal, only taking so long because of winding streets typical of venice! :)

Great location, in a part of of Venice that has a nice, local feel. Very pleasant, clean well appointed room with ensuite in well maintained hotel. It was very hot, and although the room had AC this was fairly ineffective the first night, and we had to leave the windows open which allowed a good number of mosquitos in. However, we found the AC worked reasonably effectively if we left it on and closed the shutters during the day. Breakfast was good value. Our room faced into the courtyard and had a lovely view into a garden. It was very quiet, but rooms facing the street might be a little noisier.

The train was delayed and my friend and I got into Venice around 3am - tired and completely lost among all the bridges. We owe a huge thank you to the gentleman on the reception for leading us to the property - thank you! We couldn't have been happier with our stay: clean and comfortable room, wireless internet, knowledgeable and willing to help staff. Never woke up early enough for breakfast, so cannot comment. We had a garden-facing room, so noise never reached us; there is a church nearby and the bells ring on the hour, but you are in old Europe and churches are everywhere - enjoy the sounds (or bring earplugs). Luckily, hotel had availability and we ended up staying 4 nights (instead of planned 2) and the whole time we felt welcome and were well taken care of. The property is in the Dorsoduro neighborhood - young and lively area with many options for an evening out. Every major sightseeing spot is easily within walking distance: Rialto bridge is about 10-15 minutes away, San Marco is around 20 minutes, rail/ground bus station is perhaps 15 minutes. You can also catch a vaporetto about 3 minutes away. My conclusion: Hotel Tivoli is a wonderful and well priced option for a short as well as long stay in this unusual city - you'll have a comfortable place to call home, you'll have easy access to everything Venice has to offer, and it won't kill your budget. We are very happy with our choice and will absolutely stay there again.

The Hotel Tivoli is located in a very nice and quiet district (Dorsoduro), very central and therefore very convenient for walks and boat trips over the Canal grande. There is the possibility to leave the luggage in a special room there after checking out and this is undeniably an excellent and extremely convenient service! The employees are also very friendly! Conclusion: a little hotel without luxus but with excellent service (including cleanliness) as well as the enormous advantage of a central location in Venice! Highly recommendable!

Very quaint and excellent overall location, cleanliness, and price. Tiny room (single bed wall to wall). < 15 minute easy walk from Train once you toss Venere map and non- directions and use hotel site. From Train: pass over Grand canal bridge, turn right, then left just before next canal bridge (at Gardina sign), follow that canal (don't cross any bridges) and stay straight when canal turns sharply right (2nd bridge?). Continue straight over wooden bridge that jogs left. Tivoli on right a bit further. Street on right you passed (pizza sign) just before Tivoli goes to Piazza Margharita where there is morning produce market and at other end a hidden grocery store on left. Continue past market to go to S. Marco via Accedamia bridge. ATM on the way there would not accept my debit card. Hotel visa machine wouldn't take my visa due to lack of new "chip"? Hotel cash discount only applies if booked directly thru hotel. No Internet terminal. Assigned breakfast tables (a bit isolating and too organized). Tasty fresh cruissant. No fresh fruit or meat. Close to several 3 euro per tast "sampler" bars. Airport bus about 3 euro/20 min vs 12 euro for slow boat (> 1 hr) to Piazza S. Marco and delivers to Piazza Roma very near train station on left when leaving bus via tourist stands on right then over bridge in park then left and left back over Grand Canal bridge. Hotel has good map. You'll really need it and good compass! <g> Take your time and enjoy night experience without crowds.

The single room without a bathroom was so tiny and made me feel so miserable. The shared bathroom was also too small to use, and I had no idea how to use it. Very inconvenient. I am not sure how other rooms look like. The hotel location is good to reach every destination.

The hotel was adequate. We stayed on a Saturday & Sunday night. The sounds of people walking & talking on the streets came right into our room as if a loudspeaker was blaring. On Saturday night it was impossible to sleep because of the noise, which lasted until well past midnight. Thankfully, Sunday night was quiet (relatively speaking). If staying at this hotel, bring ear plugs. Overall, this hotel was the most expensive of any on our trip to Italy and clearly the least relaxing. It was, however, an economic choice for a pretty expensive Venice.

Very good Hotel. Great location! 10 min by foot from the rail station (or vaporetti as an introduction). Rooms, though small, are very nice. It was expensive but taking into consideration the location, it was fair. Having the en suite bathroom was the main selling point for us and were very pleased by the service provided. I only stayed one night here and left at 6 am, skipping breakfast, although the breakfast room looked very nice. It had a nice little courtyard. The bed was good, but the room was very small and the shared bathroom was very very poor and cramped. The front of the toilet was one foot from the wall. There were no hooks or shelves of any kind to put your clothes, just on the toilet lid or the floor. At the very least they need to install hooks. And I could hear every single sound from the next room.

Things become a little worse- Tivoli is a hotel in the great surrounding of Campo Santa Margherita- I stayed ther for several times now and was a little disappointed this time. The room really would have needed some dusting! Linen, towels etc. ok, although a bathmat was provided first time after 3 days which meant 3 days floodíng the bathroom or taking a towel instead. Breakfast for small italian hotel quite ok - but at the end of the season they ask you to have breakfast striktly between 8 and 09:30.I probably would look for an alternative hotel nearby.

I booked this hotel 2 months in advance and it was a last resort choice. The room was very noisy (if you book here, ask for a room not facing the street!) and the shower was lukewarm to cold. If you know you're coming to Venice, book many months in advance and choose your hotel carefully; they're very expensive for what you get. It might be worth considering staying in Mestre and taking the train in.

I stayed at the Trivoli for 2 nights with my husband and our 2 children, aged 11 and 13, during a month long trip through Europe. This hotel was quite well priced when compared to other hotels in Venice and was clean, comfortable and attractive. The room was large enough for all of us, with plenty of space to put our luggage and possessions. The staff were polite and spoke some English. The breakfast room was pleasant and there was a good quantity and choice of food. We had to leave very early on the last morning to catch our bus to the airport so the lady gave us bread rolls and nutella sachets to eat on the way as we would have missed breakfast. The area was also very convenient, with many shops and attractions near by and we were able to walk to the hotel from the train station when we arrived and then walk to the bus stop to the airport when we left. I would be happy to recommend this hotel to any one wanting a pleasant stay in Venice whilst on a budget.

Handy for the Grand Canal (4 mins walk from San Toma' stop), the Accademia and Santa Lucia train station, this hotel is away from the hustle and bustle, yet has several excellent cafe's and restaurants within the immediate vicinity. Perfect for the single traveller. The courtyard garden is a charming communal space, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The buffet breakfast is excellent. Excellent value for money.

The hotel is located in 10-15 min walk from the train station on the CALLE DEI PRETI CROSSERA. The closest Vaporetto station is San Toma (3-4 min walk), clean property, reasonable for Venice price, friendly stuff, no problem with English, nice breakfast. Our room was #35. The hotel might be little noisy since you will hear quite a bit of things happening on the street. Overall we liked it very much and would definitely sty there again.

I had book for a double room which seemed very charming according to the photos on the website and at our arrival they gave us a triple room, less typical (but same price) - Quite good hotel very close to the most interested areas, even if wake up every morning at 7.30am by the church nearby (like everywhere in Venezia anyway...).

The map on the hotel's business card is excellent to find the hotel. Too bad you only get the card after you find the hotel. The electric plugs in our room were too weak to hold a 110/220 power converter. Mine shorted itself out and I could not get another one. The room was European small but bathroom was good. No clock in the room.

It is the fourth time in one year that I pass a few days in Venice. It is the third time that I go to the Tivoli Hotel. The price and the service are for me the most important things. All I need is a bed to sleep ( I travel alone) and a good breakfast.

Great value accommodation. We prebooked through Venere and save 25 euro off the already reasonable room rate. Hotel staff fluent in English but as I felt I should make the effort they were happy to let me flounder along in Italian without ridicule! Breakfast fairly basic and you need to get there early, but can't complain at the price. When eating out beware of the many rip-off joints. We expected prices to be high in Venice but there's no excuse for lower quality as well. Beware of the "welcomers" drumming up trade in nearby Campo Santa Margherita. Hotel was easy to find, off the main tourist track and there was little outside noise at night. Very satisfied. Would definitely return.

Probably the best price/value ration I have seen in Italy. The price was 55 euro for one night (and this during summer!), hotel is located very conveniently in centre of Venice, room (well, obviously small) was nice and clean and provided all basic facilities, no complaints about the service. Don't waste your time on their breakfast though :)

99% of what I have to say about Hotel Tivoli is very positive. The location is very good, near everything, but yet in a rather quiet spot. The vaporetto-stop (S. Toma) is also very near. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was of good, yet basic, quality. The only negative 1 percent is due to some dust under the bed, which caused some allergic reactions & blankets also could use a wash. Otherwise, the room was kept very clean, towels were changed daily etc. But this is a minor complaint as overall our stay in Tivoli was very pleasant and I'll recommend the hotel to anyone who's going to Venice and doesn't wish to spend a fortune on hotel alone.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a reasonably priced hotel on Venice Island which could cater comfortably for our family of four (two teenagers). The room was very large and spacious and luckily on the first floor as we had heavy luggage and there was no lift. The ensuite was very clean. Breakfast was served in a large room and there was a pretty courtyard where you could also eat. The Grand Canal was 5 minutes walk away, as was the nearest Vaporetto stop. I highly recommend this hotel.

I had a single room. Small, but o.k. Mattress was fine, there was even a sink in the room. Staircase a bit noisy. Common bathroom very small, but clean and functioning. Breakfast o.k. considering being in Italy. Overall, for 45 Euro per night a very good deal!

I have a very good sense of direction, I also did Google Earth before leaving, but it took me about half a hour to find the hotel after getting off the boat at the St. Toma stop. I was walking around and around near the area. However, the directions to and from the railway station both by boat or on foot given by the hotel staff after my arrival was very clear and easy to follow, which should be posted on the web instead. After hearing that I have no problem getting around.

Lejos de la estación. Necesitas ir en vaporeto. El hotel es encantador. Muy limpio. Gente amable.

Proprietor discreet, but very helpful and kind. Good value hotel, good room for family of four, but noise of neighbourhood went on well into the night (general hubub of people talking). Good breakfast (more than just bready things and coffee) on a nice patio.

The hotel was OK, only the problems with air conditioning made us some suffering during the night...

The hotel was 10-15 minutes walking away from the places of interest. The room was nothing special, slightly spacious, little noisy, but clean. Something that was not quoted is that the door of the hotel is closing at 1 am! This was very dissapointing.
