The Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Location of the Hotel was great, easy to find from the water bus and only a short walk to the station also. Room was comfortable. Furnishings were VERY Italian. Lots of wallpaper and rich colours. Walking into our room was like walking into another era - the atmosphere was great.

The three meters between the front door step and the Canale Grande do not prevent from a very noisy environment - even at night. But we enjoy our pretty room and the good selection of breakfast items. Unfortunately, using the WiFi is quite expensive (5€/hour).

This is a good place to stay, its clean, easy to find and welcoming. Breakfast is good but the single waiter does need a little help at times when it is busy. We had only very minor problems but they were sorted out immediately or very quickly. I would stay here again. Don't let the nearness to the bus station put you off it is quiet most of the time and almost silent at night. 40 minutes walk to Saint Marks

The principle advantage of this property, it's convenience of location as a gateway to Venice, is also it's greatest disadvantage because of the traffic noise - boats, buses, and crowds of arriving or departing visitors to the island - well into the night. I would recommend it to anyone intending to stay out late to explore Venice. The staff were incredibly courtious and helpful, and the hotel itself is easy to find (difficult to miss, actually!) The breakfast provided was good and a reasonably varied selection. It is an excellent location for water taxi's and transport to the mainland and airports - just 25 minutes away. Useful for short stays.

Hotel Santa Chiara was the best! It's close to everything worth seeing and if not, transportation is very close by. The hotel employees definitely takes care of you, providing you suggestions of tours and directions to anywhere you want to go.

This hotel was very quaint and in lovely location. We had room on top floor looking out at modern bridge.Very handy coming from bus from airport.Right beside the stop. The boat taxis were right there too.We liked hotel. We just stayed one night before cruise. My only issue would be the cleanliness.Bathroom was spotless but carpet and bed not 100%. Great for one night stay but maybe not good for longer stay. The staff were extremely helpful.

Very small room for the price. Breakfast could be improved for Canadian or American people. Very good location for people in transit for a cruise and to visit Venice (Vaporetto right beside the hotel and very easy to travel around.

Had excellent rooms. Our room had a nice view over a part of the Canal Grande and the Alps in the horizon. Very nice. Our childrens' room har view from the opposite side of the hotel, view to a small park and a smaller canal. The hotel being close to the Canal Grande and Piazzale Roma, there was of course some noise, but you canot get a centrally placed room in complete quietness. Anyway it adds to the nice experience of being in an Italian city. The pillows could be softer, but that is a questiion of taste. A higly recommendable hotel

The location of the hotel was wonderful. It is located right in the Piazzale Roma, where you take the shuttle to and from the airport or cruise ship, also it is in walking distance to the train. I will stay there again.

We enjoyed our one-night stay at Santa Chiara Hotel. It was overall clean, very accessible to the port and airport and to the vaporetto. Prices in Italy in general are high for us but this was reasonable in comparison to some. It was a charming hotel amidst a bustling Venice Piazzole Roma area. Lots of good recommendations of trattorias and shops by the concierge. All in all loved the hotel. Would stay there again definitely, especially for cruise facility and getting around town.

Very unfriendly staff at reception. Quite abrupt. Other staff seemed friendly. Very good location because of car park. Rooms were very dark and small. No air conditioning although it was advertised as one of the facilities. I would only return to this Hotel because of their car park.

Great location, excelent service, just a bit loud since it is right on the grand canal, but that is also the advantage. Would stay again, and have recomended this hotel to others.

We were put up for the night in the Residence Parisi which is an annex of the original Santa Chiara building. The annex is located in front of the Piazza Roma Vaporetto stop and is about a block from the main building. The main reason I chose Santa Chiara was for the location, which is just a few steps from the bus terminal and Vaporetto stop. This area does not have decent (good value) restaurants but is close to transportation for cruise passengers and connection to the Marco Polo. The room at the Residence Parisi was sparse and dark. I didn't like the bed which was sunken toward the middle. Since we only spent one night in Venice not much time in the room, it was quite acceptable. However, if it were not for the location, I would have stayed at the Antiche Figure a short distance away.

Staff was helpful, but a little stiff. The car they called for our very short trip to the cruise ship was way to expensive. Good location for arrival in Venice for an overnight.

Great location if you are coming to Venice to begin a cruise. Easily accessible from the Venice (Marco Polo) Airport by bus or taxi. Nice little 3 star hotel but a bit pricey for 3 stars and really needs brighter light bulbs in room. Excellent staff!

This was a very nice, intimate hotel in a great location for the cruise ships and the airport. The desk staff and others were most accommodating and started our vacation very well. I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

I really enjoyed the Santa Chiara Hotel. It was easy to find and very convenient for the station. At first the staff seemed a little distant but they were all very helpful booking opera tickets for me and telling me of good places to eat.My room was at the back of the h0tel and I was concerned that it might have been noisy as it backs on to the bus station but the windows are double glazed and I heard nothing. I had a view over a small canal which is delightful and my room was a double not a single as I had booked. Breakfast is excellent and sitting in the window overlooking the Grande canal sipping coffee can't be bad! There is a small bar and a little garden with a fountain at the back of the hotel. Line one from Piazzale Roma to St Marks runs past the front door and all of Venice is at your feet.

We were housed in a new extension located some distance from the hotel proper and not directly on the Grand Canal. So it was quite disappointing. The whole place had an air of being make-shift and not quite ready.

My husband and I stayed at the Santa Chiara for 2 nights before departing Venice on a cruise. The hotel was excellent and at the perfect location and very easy to get to from the airport. It is next to the bus station, so we did not have to drag our luggage across bridges, water taxis, etc. The hotel is located at the beginning of the Grand Canal with a public boat dock right outside the door. It also offers a complimentary boat shuttle to the casino, a short ride down the canal. There are plenty of cafes and small shops nearby, and the view from our room was charming. The bathroom was small, but water pressure was excellent. We had beautiful Murano glass chandeleirs in our tastefully decorated room. The cruise ship dock was a 5 minute taxi ride. (10 euros) You will love this hotel!

The location of the hotle is very good and we arrived very late around midnight, because the train was delayed. It was easy for us to find the hotel and just walked 7-10mins. So, it is very convienent for the tourists who arrive very late, and you will also find the location is easily accessible, and roma square is just nearby where you can easily find many water bus.Ok, the location is good. However, I would say the guy at the reception that night was not very friendly and helpful, the guy even wanted to keep our passports for one night! It is not a heavy work to register our names at that moment. At last it only took 5 mins! The day after, the guy was ok, but still not very helpful, but the guy in the bar was very nice. The room is typical Venezia style and the room is big and quiet. The facilities in bathroom are ok but relatively samll. The breakfast was good, although there are not many options. The price was reasonable, especially in Venezia. Finally I would still recommand this hotel, for the convienence, big room, and enough food of the breakfast. The service should be improved.

The location could not be better for us who had an early am flight as well as wanting to walk Venice. Everything the hotel offered was fine. If I had to complain about something it would be the size of the bathroom. Although small shower only it was functional.

Very convenient location at the bus station, especially if arriving in Venice for the first time. It was so easy to find, coming in from the airport, but still a short walk from the heasrt of the city. I had a room on the canal side, which was quiet. Rooms on the bus station side may be noisier. I liked this hotel and would certainly go back.

This is a clean and attractive property located directly on the Grand Canal and easily accessed by either water taxi or bus. This easy access does contribute to some noise, however. The staff was gracious and the breakfast was very good, and the overall experience was most satisfying.

It was even better than the photos described, and the service was awesome. The location cannot be beat, it was perfect for an early flight. We had one triple and one double and it worked out perfectly space wise. Not to meniton, the vaparetto ride (#1)after dinner, back to the hotel, was the perfect way to end our stay in Venice.

First time in Venice. I arrived late evening and from the moment I entered the hotel I felt welcomed and appreciated. The reception staff and the porter who carried my bag were so friendly and helpful. They were the first people I spoke to in Venice and they set the tone for my visit. I loved my stay in the hotel and can't wait to return.

Hotel is a little pricey (about $300 per night) I tried e-mailing them direct and then calling by phone direct to hotel because the internet prices were significantly lower. Both cases I was told they were completely booked. I tried Venerre and got immediate confirmation, but at much higher rate. That being said, if you can afford it, and need a place that is close to the train or bus for early departure or late arrival, it is superb. The buses are just across the street, taxi can take you to the door, the vaporatta is few hundred meters away and train station just across the canal. The rooms are nice with small but good American shower, personelle nice, and a good breakfast. Note: the room telephones are note touch tone so can't make a phonecard call, but, phone in the reception area is and works well. The hotel is excellent for arriving and departure, but not centrally located for sightseeing.
