Hotel Russo Palace - Venice Lido, Venice

We just loved the island of Lido - what a find - and the Russo Palace Hotel - they were a welcome oasis from hectic Venice. It is just a short boatride away from Venice and just such a beautiful and calm resort. We enjoyed the beach, walks, shopping and the Russo Palace Hotel. Beautiful breakfast, great staff! We will be back!

Do not book this hotel!!!!! I booked this hotel in December 2010 for a 4 day stay in June 2011; I booked a standard room; in my special case this room was situated on the ground floor with noise from the reception area and the street just behind the hotel; I tried to move to a differerent room this was not possible as the hotel was fully booked; after the first night in a smelly; small and dark room we moved to a different hotel owned by the same company we had to pay 100 Euro for the uprgrade! The offerd hotel Ausonia&Hungaria was OK. Avoid the Russo Palace if you think about booking a standard room. It will ruine your holiday!!!!

This is my first time in Hotel Russo Palace. I stayed one night with 89 Euro, I think it's worth the price. The hotel is located in Lido island, 1 km away from the water bus station, (there are two water bus stations in Lido island, you'd better prepare how to reach the hotel in advance). Hotels in Lido island are much better than those in the main land, with lower price and better condition. You can easily go to Lido by water bus L1,L2,L41,L42 from the train station S.Lucia. The staff speaks fluent English and is willing to help. The room is big enough, and the bathroom is very clean. The breakfast provides many choice. The only bad thing is that the Wifi is changed 5 Euro per hour.

We are very satisfied, we will return!

A "real" 4 star hotel.

The Russo Palace was closed when we arrived, so we were switched to Hungaria Palace Hotel. The Hungaria is a beautiful hotel. The staff was helpful, the breakfast is a wonderful variety of anything you would wish for. Lovely.

Fourmis in the bathroom, short bed for a 16 years boy.

Nice facility with a competent personal. The breakfast was also good. But those are not enough for four stars. The overall stay nevertheless was fine, you just can't compare this with a four star rated hotel in other cities.

Un desastre. Nos dieron una habitación que no se parece en nada a las fotos publicadas. Cuando pedimos cambiar de habitación nos dijeron que el hotel estaba lleno y que nuestra habitación correspondía a la tarifa estandar. Para colmo no funcionaban el aire acondicionado (en pleno més de julio), ni el secador de pelo y una de las camas estaba coja. Además la habitación ya estaba pagada, porque la política del hotel era cobrar en el check-in. Así que tuve que protestar (y cojerme un gran cabreo) hasta que nos ofrecieron cambiarnos a otro hotel. Fué muy desagradable. Nunca más.

We did not get the room requested. The rooms are tiny and just about everything was defect or not working - fridge, AC, hot water,... Location and breakfast are really good.

Super hotel, with very friendly, English-speaking staff. Staying on the island of Lido is also a real bonus - it's relatively quiet and there is a fantastic beach just behind the hotel when you get tired of the sights in Venice. Also check out Restaurant Favorita, 5 mins from hotel. Excellent.

A very nice, quaint hotel that was clean. Our short stay was pleasant.

It is a fairly long walk in the rain from the water vapor stop to the hotel. Other than that it was a good location.

The hotel staff were very helpful. We were travelling back home early morning and the receptionist was very helpful with times of the ferry and bus etc. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Only problem was that there was some work going on beside the hotel that started early enough in the morning. A bit noisy but an excuse not to stay in bed. The hotel is well situated and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

Rooms were very clean although not that big. All staff we dealt with were very helpful. Unfortunately we did have roadworks outside during our stay which did detract from the hotel a little. The water bus station is about 10 mins walk, then about a 20 min ride to Venice, the service is pretty good. You should be aware that the courtesy bus provided by the hotel is only available during the high season. Personally I was pleased we stayed on Lido as it was more laid back and away from the hassle and bussle of Venice and also seemed a little cheaper.

This hotel was great! The staff was very helpful. And the breakfast was AMAZING!

Good room, a bit small, but everything you need is there and in Venice you don't want to sit in your room anyway. During our stay there were some roadworks going on which created some noise in the morning. But my girlfriend was able to sleep through that. Pleasant stay for a good price.

Excellent location on the Waterfront of the Venice Lido with views right across the Lagoon to Venice, only a 10 minute walk from the main boat stop on the Lido. Kind and helpfull staff 24hrs a day. Breakfast was excellent all types of food for every taste. Rooms were cleaned throughly everyday to the highest standard. It was a great way to escape the hussle and bussle of Venice and was also a much cheaper hotel due to it being on the Lido. It was my first visit to Venice and I would definately recommend the Russo Palace to any couple. Throughly enjoyable seven night break.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful location, good price for the period, rich breakfast

This hotel is a gem in a location that is a real dream. View Venice across the water and feel ambience of the `50s around it. It is warm, friendly and personal with top-class staff, available even when not fully booked. The stroll along then sea to the boat station is a joy in itself and the Lido is just great and relaxing. WE SHALL RETURN..........

We really enjoyed our visit there. It is a long boat ride each night back, but it was enjoyable. The staff was very welcoming. The views were fabulous. We will definitely return.

First stay in Venezia, Lido very nice and cheaper than Venezia, but don't forget you'll miss one hour if you want to go to the hotel for changing your clothes and return for dinner in Venezia.

After a hard days sightseeing it was good to return to the peace & quiet of the Russo Palace. Lido iteself has several restaurants & shops so no need to go back into Venice to eat unless you want to. From the jetty catch the San Nicolo bus which stops just after the hotel. Courtesy boat to San Marco in the morning was much appreciated.

The hotel was lovely, immaculate, convenient and just what we needed after long travel. The owner (I believe) was welcoming, incredibly gracious and very helpful. The breakfast was a most pleasant surprise with mounds of fresh fruit, breads,meats and local fare. The employees were superb except the young woman at the desk on our last day who could give us no information and made us feel like we were bothering her. All in all, an exceptional experience. Unfortunate that one employee can have such an infuluence on a stay though.

We had a verry pleasant stage. The Hotel and the breakfast is good. The staff is verry friendly and full off the best tips (ie Restaurants, places to go ...).

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, and we were lucky enough to have a room with a terrace. It had lovely views over the water. The room was beautifully appointed and the breakfasts were of good quality. What more could you want? Oh, the weather was good too.

A wonderful stay, a 7 min. walk from the Vaporetto to Venice and to the beach. Very relaxing.

Nice location, beautiful view, but rooms too small. I was unlucky since the day taht I stayed there were some road works just outside of my window. I liked the hotel but not sure if I would stay there for my next visit to Venice.

A first class hotel,the staff were excellent,very friendly and most hotel.I would reccomend the Rosso to anyone wanting a high quality at a fair price.Thank you for a great weekend

Das Hotel ist sehr angenehm, sauber, ruhig, geschmackvoll eingerichtet, liegt direkt am Meer und bietet ein gutes Frühstück - dies alles zu einem guten Preis. Einzige Nachteile: Es gibt kein hoteleigenes Restaurant, folglich ist es am Abend ziemlich ausgestorben und in der so genannten Hotelbar ist kaum niemand anzutreffen. Das Hotel liegt etwas abeits von Lido-Zentrum und Sandstrand...in der Haupsaison vielleicht ein Vorteil, in der Nebensaison etwas allzu "ruhig"...

Situation de l'hôtel agréable.etablissement calme, chambre un peu petite . mais magnifique vue sur Venise et la Lagune. A recommander.

We were very pleasantly surprised by Russo Palance. Everything suited our needs well from the pre-arrival exchange of emails to inform the hotel of our late flight, the warm welcome we received, the comfort and cleanliness of our room and the calm atmosphere in the hotel - something we welcomed after a day in Venice. We would recommend this hotel highly and hope to return one day.

Very nice hotel (new and clean). Our room had a balcony with a beautiful view. The service is excellent. About 10 min walk to the nearest water-bus which takes you to Venice center in 10-15 minutes.

Great price for the this hotel. the travel in Venice from Lido - this location was no problem.

We had a very enjoyable time that was capped by staying in such a great hotel. I have traveled a lot in my lifetime and stayed in many places. The Russo Palace ranked as one of the best. On my return to Venice i would not hesitate to book the Russo Palce again.
