I know Venice well and took a friend for whom it was the first visit. As her preference was for a quieter location than the main centre, we decided to stay on the Lido. We were delighted by every aspect of our stay and I would not now think of returning to Venice other than to the Rigel. The staff were friendly, efficient and unfailingly helpful. The rooms (we had two singles) were a good size and very reasonably priced - especially by Venice standards - and the bar prices were also very fair (for example we paid 11 euro for a bottle of prosecco). The location is good - only 5 minutes walk from the Vaporetto stop from which there is a wide range of boats to the Grand Canal, the other Venetian islands and the airport.

Slipped up by booking economy double room. OK as one just sleeps there. Modern bathroom although the shower door leaks. Good choice for breakfast taken on the garden terrace. Efficient reception who deposited valuables in their safe as rooms do not have this facility. All in all good value in expensive Venice area. Would have no hesitation in returning to the property

We had a very nice little room with balcony in the third floor, with a great view about the neighbored villas with garden of Lido. It is not far to the vaporetto station or to the seaside. Breakfast was various and really enough selection. Sorry, Wifi was not free.

A charming hotel in a great location on the Venice Lido. We paid standard rate for a 2 week stay and had a lovely room with balcony on the third floor. Trying to get the type of coffee we wanted at breakfast was a bit of a trial as the staff had little English but perhaps we should have had more Italian!

hotel small and quiet - hotel was appartently full but we hardly saw anyone coming and going, which was nice. We however did not sleep well at all, the bed was pretty firm and the pillows were like bricks - never new you could get them that hard. we had a superior room, but not quite sure what extras it had to make it such. nice balcony with most rooms.and working easy to use aircon. ubreakfast was basic - cerial, yogait, packed biscuits, small amount of fruit, 3 cold meats and 2 breads. The crossaints are howver baked there as i was woken up at 615am by the smell of them. hotel bar is basic with 2 bears, some apperififs, - no brand names but theres probably something simular. not always open during the day, and often you have to ask the recption to come over and serve you. prices are cheap though for a hotel.

Close to the vaporetto station and not far from the beach, very conveniently located. Very quiet area but all the shops close by. Great breakfast buffet, especially considering the rather low price for the room. Very clean, probably recently renovated. Nice staff, spacious lobby. You can sit nicely in the garden.

This hotel is amazing! We enjoyed very much of our stay, very quite and beautiful garden, we feel really relaxed. It's better than you stay in Venice,Lido has less traffic and also very convinient to Venice by boat. By 5 mins walk, you can go to the beach, and boat station is also nearby. The hotel staff even allow us to take hotel tower to the beach! This was the exactly honey moon i was looking for. However the bathroom was a little bit small, but all the rooms we stayed has the same problem, anyway, we were very happy and would definitely come back.

A lovely hotel in an excellent location on the Lido - close to bars, cafes, restaurants and 10 minutes to the beach. The room was a little cramped, but then we were three in one room. The continental breakfast was plentiful and the staff welcoming and helpful. The free beach was great and the sea glorious to swim in.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Hotel Rigel. I had booked a single room with low expectations. Because the price was within my budget I was not expecting much. It was great. I had a single bed, ensuite, with a small balcony and airconditioner. Perfect. The staff Marco and the other staff were most helpful and very friendly. I rented the hotel's bike and saw a lot of the island. The breakfast was a daily treat and I had it in the garden, I initally booked for 4 nights but because it was so good I stayed another 5 nights.Venice was visited by vaporetta which in itself is a treat. The beach on the Lido id 5 minutes away. I highly recommend Hotel Rigel. This was my 11th trip to Venice and it was the best due to the Rigel experience. Thank you.

This was our first trip to Venice and our first stay in the Hotel Rigel. We were a little dubious initially staying on the Lido, i.e., a boat ride always to and from the city itself. But it turned out to be a great decision... first of all, it was great to actually be in Venice, but it was wonderful to leave all the noise and crowds behind at the end of the day and return to a lovely neighbourhood which was quiet, clean, and pretty, with very very good restaurants for dinner. The hotel was quiet, the front desk service excellent - welcoming, polite, extremely helpful. The daily breakfast was even more than surprising with a very large selection of items to choose from - from a selection of cereals/fruits/eggs/rolls/croissants/meats/cheeses, etc. Not to mention excellent coffees. There was also a place to sit outside under cover on sunny days. One thing to mention - we had a very early morning train out of the main station in Venice and were a little worried as to how we would get from the Lido over to the Venice side in time to catch a 6 am train. Turns out we needn't have worried at all as the water buses have a night schedule and so run 24 hours a day. Excellent hotel, excellent value, excellent location. I would highly recommend this hotel.

My room was clean and comfortable (heat was definitely working!) Lido is quiet, & Hotel Rigel is about a 2.5 block walk from the Vaporetto stop. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Venice is so crazy during Carnevale, and Rigel was a great break away from all the mad crowds. Honestly, I picked Hotel Rigel for the price (€35) for a single room, and I've paid much more for "dumps" on Venice. Yes, I'll definitely stay at Hotel Rigel again.

The Hotel Rigel is in a very convenient location, just two short blocks from the main street of Lido (shops and restaurants). The Coop grocery store and post office are very close by. We also were walking distance from a public beach and even in the cool autumn weather it was entertaining for our 6-year-old who wrote his name in the sand and collected sea shell. The nice thing about staying in Lido is you can take your car on the #17 ferry from Tronchetto (10 euros for car and driver plus 6.50 per passenger) so you don't have to pack as carefully. The hotel has limited parking but we were able to get a spot. The staff was friendly and was able to help with every request. Valentina was especially nice to our son. The hotel can provide a great map of Venice to guests.

The room was compact and small, but excellent for a single traveller. Overall a great hotel for the price I got. For 43 odd Euros, this was fantastic. The place near the hotel is also very good with bars, coffee shops, supermarkets and these close only past midnight. A lot of these outlets are for the locals and one can be assured that one isn't getting ripped off at tourist prices. Travel can often bring last minute nasty surpises and one may have to buy some essential things locally. Its great to have stores which offer good value for money in the vicinity. The island Lido on which the hotel is situated is also a major residential cum tourist area; hence lots of avenues to explore the local lifestyle at local prices. Would definitely recommend this hotel at the prices I got. The one thing I would like improved is the speed of response at the reception. The service at the reception although full of warmth always isn't very consistent. I had to wait in a queue for what seemed eternity during checkout.

This hotel proved to be an excellent value for money choice for us (a couple with a young daughter). The staff were all welcoming and assisted us a lot. The Lido where the hotel is located is a good rereat from Venice's commotion yet is only a short waterbus ride from the centre (paradoxically, I think it is quicker to arrive from the hotel to St Mark's square than from hotels situated in the centre of Venice.) . Breakfast was sufficiently good with fresh rolls eggs and cheese. The only reason I give this hotel less than a 10 mark is because the coffee served at breakfast was tasteless - you should not drink the coffee in the pitchers instead ask the waiter to prepare a fresh one for you.

The staff are very nice and the buffet breakfast was better than several 3-4 star places i have been to. Recommended for price conscious single travellers and young couples. Lovely location close to the beach! Btw: The only reason I gave only a 4 for quietess is the person living opposite the hotel: if you close the windows the hotel is quiet enough; if you have it open, you'll hear the folks opposite watching telly at full blast until 2am every night :-) if you close the windows you'll need the aircon on all night in summer.

A nice hotel in a quiet street. Good breakfast and generally helpful staff except for one rather unfriendly lady who booked us out. Only a few minutes walk from the boats so very convenient position. Would stay there again.

just beautiful and cosy. No complaints about the breakfast (as others do). There is a "billa"supermarket right around the corner for those who are very hungry. It was a perfect stay at the Rigel.Very recommandable.

This is the best deal in venice. Clean, air conditioned, and a great breakfast. The location is great for day trips to Venice and access to the beach. I would definatly stay there again.

As a frequent visitor to Italy and Venice Lido, this hotel is a typical italian hotel, which is well positioned for the ferry, beach and the main street. Nice hotel with very friendly staff especially on recepton. This was not our first time in Lido but will definetly stay at this hotel again.

when making an order on the site it said that there is parking available at the hotel included in the price, when whe got to the hotel they looked surprised at such request, saying that they only have 4 parking spaces and all are taken. Otherwise the hotel was nice.

this hotel meets my expectation and standard ,I like it very much. compared with Ryanair.com, I think Venere.com did much better than Ryanair did in terms of Correspondence between web pages and actual property. I booked a hotel in London on Ryanair.com, but that one was terrible dirty and disgusting!remember I paid nearly 100 pounds for one night including 15 pounds for the Tax and service fee to Ryanair.com.that hotel was just a nightmare.personally i would never book a hotel on ryanair.com. however, i just read the news Venere.com was bought by Expedia and ryanair.com was bought by expedia too...who knows whether they would become same worse or better...

The hotel was great, the staff was nice, the lady at the breakfast was very nice. The hotel is on a very quit street, only half a block from restaurants, and one block from Elizabetha st, which is the main street, only 10 min. walking to the beach. Lido Island is beautiful, the walk from the vaporeto (the water boat) was less than 10 minutes carryieng our logage. I suggest to buy a pass for 36 hours or 48 hours depending on how long your stay is and save money on the vaporeto as each trip is 6.5 Euros, which I found very expensive. Venezia is about 20 minutes away because the water boat stops at every stop before you get to St Marks stop. You MUST go to Burano Island, It is a colorful and picutureque place.

Rigel is a beautiful place to stay. I only wish I had more than one night to appreciate this beautiful Italian Hotel. The hotel is rich in every way and the employees were charming. The only difficulty I had was finding it and then parking. Both of these I am sure were aggravated by my state after a long day of driving. In spite of this I would recommend this hotel to my best friends and not tell any one else. 5 stars

Hi, please do not confused by ur map. It is actually very easy to find out. I made a mistake by misspell the hotel. It is highly recommanded to single traveller or early-getting up people. I left the hotel to florence. and I was so worried about whether i will miss the train. It take only 10 or 15 mins(depends on your walking speed)to the port(the earliest is around 6am, but i took the 6:55am one), and 45 mins on the lake(it may be walkable, but i did not try), and I got my train to the st lucais station(oops, forget the name, it is the one in the mainland) on time..

The Lido is a lovely area and is a great base to see Venice, while having a place to escape the crowds and tour groups. The hotel was very easy to find and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

We loved this area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The internet had conneciton problems but they didn't charge us for the time we had problems. Nice to be away from the hussle of the main areas. The beach was wonderful! Lots of locals...not too many tourist compared to other areas. We even left our new video camara at the closest restaurant and got it back the next morning from the owner!

This hotel uses the classic "bait and switch" tactic. When we checked in we were given a filthy room that was the size of a broom closet. It was nothing like the pictures. After complaining loudly we were promised a better room the next day. We did get moved into a wonderful room with king size bed and small balcony. Much better. The location is good if you want to visit the wonderful beach on Lido or get away from the crush in Venice. It is about 1 hour via vaperetto from the train station and 45 minutes to St. Marks. This means you should plan to visit Venice and Murano for the whole day/evening to avoid repeated expensive trips on the boat.

Booked a superior room - soon realised that superior meant 'slightly larger' and had nothing to do with the standard of the room, which was poor. No tea or coffee in rooms, no sockets to plug a kettle in and you could not buy a cup of tea or coffe at the hotel. Breakfast consisted of bread, jam and cereal plus tinned fruit. Bar was only open on 2 of 4 nights and then only from 7-10 p.m. Location was good. Ther are some good nearby restaurants. Hotel Rigel would only be a 1 star hotel in England and was not good value at 120 euros per night. We would not return here.

Our stay at Hotel Rigel was poor, we had no power for a curling iron or electric shaver in the bathroom and the hair dryer didn't work there either. They wouldn't give us another room. They brought us a big bulky extension cord to use our electrical things with and it was a very dirty and tiny room. One desk man told us the hotel would discount us for the inconvenience of no power in the bathroom but when we checked out another desk man told us they wouldn't do anything for us because the manager wasn't there for us to talk to.

This hotel was in a great location on Lido... but the hotel is very dated. Has not been remodeled since maybe the sixties. It was clean and the bed was comfortable-so if you do not mind the crazy old style this is a nice place.
