This was a return visit to the Rialto Hotel and it did not dissappoint. The rooms are all different and because the hotel was originally a private Palazzo they are sometimes smaller than others. The location is perfect - on the major Vaparetto routes and within walking distances of many highlights. Some of the rooms over looking the Grand Canal could be considered noisier but if you close the shutters this is really a non-issue and the view is second to none for fun and getting the feel of the City. Breakfast is simple with lots of options - the dining room is a bit crowded but there's lots of time to get to breakfast.

This was a very expensive hotel. The room was on floor 1, overlooking the Grand Canal water bus stop. It was the first hotel next to the Rialto Bridge on the south side. We took a water taxi from the airport to the front door of the hotel so there was no bridge to carry luggage over. Since most directions are to San Marco Square or the Rialto, we never got lost while walking from one to the other. If you travel to Venice often, you mkay want to find a cheaper hotel, but for your once in a life time trip, stay at the Rialto, overlooking the Grand Canal.

This was great hotel for location.Bang in the middle of everything. Our room was dark and tiny and the bathroom had a shower that flooded through the tiles. Hotel is like a maze to find your room. Hotel had nice balcony to sit on with view of boats. There was a man using skype on his laptop while sitting on the balcony so wifi must have been strong. Perfect for one night stay but not comfortable enough for longer.

Very pricey. People with knee or hip problems take note - STAIRS, STAIRS, STAIRS. Too many stairs to even count. Elevator only goes to second floor (1st floor in EU). But, it's right at the foot of the Ponte de Rialto. My wife can't thank me enough for the location. Small rooms, but we were out sight seeing and drinking wine most of the time. Excellent information from the front desk personnel.

Probably waited too long to book more affordable lodging in Venice, but decided to pay more than anticipated for something special for our first nights in Italy. Loved the view of the canal and Rialto from our room and the proximity to airport and local transportation. Included breakfast was a little better than expected. Surprised at the number of steps necessary to reach room 309, but we did not return to the room until we were ready to rest for the night. Dual pane window allowed us to enjoy the sounds of the canal when we wanted and to shut them out when we wanted to rest.

The hotel is in a great location. However, we found the staff at the front desk very rude. We asked them (in three different ocassions) general questions about the area and their responses were very demeaning as if we were asking stupid questions with obvious answers. We had to take an early train (before their assigned breakfast time) and when asked the night before if they could provide us with coffee, their response was, "that is impossible this request neeeded to be made 24 hours in advance".

Excellent situation with rooms more spacious than we had thought - nicely decorated and appointed. The staff on reception were very welcoming and helpful. We stayed at the hotel twice in May, at the beginning and ending of a trip to another city. The staff is great. I have encountered none better in Italy. And the location of this hotel is perfect if you are traveling to Venice with older folks who cannot walk far; it is right in the middle of everything and only a few steps from the vaporetto stop. During our first stay the room was very quiet. During the second stay temperatures had risen and air conditioners were on and the room was subject to very loud A/C noises even though our own A/C was left off. This is a problem in every old hotel in Venice, unfortunately.

We absolutely loved this hotel, our junior suite was overlooking the Rialto bridge which was wonderful. You do get a bit of noise but that is all part of the atmosphere and why we stayed so close to the grand canal and the rialto. the prices is commensurate with what you have to pay in Venice and i would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a romantic get away

We learned beforehand that the elevator service is available up to the first floor. A quiet and rather spacious room was assigned with a bathtub as we had requested. The breakfast at the ground-floor terrace was nice overlooking the canal and the Rialto Bridge. The hotel has an easy access, about 10 minutes walk to San Marco. We visited Brano, Torcello and Murano Islands using the vapotetto.

The location of the hotel is great. The Rialto bridge was just in front of our room, the view was fantastic!!! The only draw back was the noise from the room up above (a private apartment) - the TV set was on all night long and kept us awake for 2 nights. The staff of the hotel is aware of the problem but nobody warned us about it.

The hotel was easy to find when we came late in the evening. The interaction with the personnel at the reception was excellent. They where overall Nice, friendly and helpful and fixed every thing for us. The breakfast areas at the hotel are to small compared to the number of guests but our room was excellent. The city is exciting and charming with lot of things to discover. The small restaurants had an overall rather good quality and friendly attitude. We do no recommend this activities: 1)one was to go to a certain glassblowery at munaro where they where a bit to keen on selling things. 2)we went at a play called the masquerade . The food was OK but the theatre that should be thrilling was a dull story where the actors had more fun than the audience

We chose Venice for my wife's 50th birthday and wanted somewhere special to stay with a view of the Grand Canal. Our junior suite provided that but was not in the main Hotel. What you see in the photographs is the original hotel which has obviously expanded into nearby buildings. Our room was nice enough but quite tired looking. The location being central is superb although being near to a vaporetto (water bus) station is quite noisy as other people have reported. We found the breakfast good and the front desk staff friendly and helpful. Venice is an expensive city however we felt the Rialto to be a bit overpriced at €450/night compared to other hotels we stayed at later on our holiday in other parts of Italy. We would look for a different hotel next time preferably in a quieter side canal.

This hotel is fabulous. It's right on the Grand Canal and next to the Rialto Bridge. We had a canal view room and every morning we had breakfast in our room and every night we had a drink from the mini bar and just sat and admired the fantastic view. The staff were lovely, very friendly and knowledgable. I have already recommended the hotel to all of my friends.

We had an excellent stay. The location of the hotel is perfect. It has a waterbus stop right outside the hotel so you don't have to carry your bags to far. The rooms are clean but could do with a refresh. The staff were very helpful with local information and having tickets available for the evening opera. We would highly recommend this hotel for a short break in Venice.

The location of the Rialto is excellent.... couldnt get more convenient... Lots of evening activity, restuarants (had one of our best meals in Italy in a restuarant behind the hotel down a very narrow alley) and shops, market, water bus stop right outside and easy walk (through interesting streets with shops and over bridged canals) to Piazza San Marco. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast overlooking the Grand Canal was a treat ! Two observations for those making the same wise choice : Even though the bellman went to great lengths to instruct us on how to adjust the aircon, we discovered later that in October the hotel switches off the aircon throughout the hotel until summer. When we adjusted the aircon, we were actually heating the room !! So we had to leave the window open and endure mosquitoes and noise from the alleyway below, which was very disturbing. Also, the elevator only goes up to level 1/one floor above entrance foyer. We had room 112 so were okay, but an elderly couple found they had to walk up stairs to their room. If you have difficulty with stairs, stipulate the room level you require. The laundry service charged more than their quoted prices but the service was good and very quick. I would highly recommend the Rialto to anyone. We didnt even need a map as there are so many signs directing you back to the Rialto. We would definitely stay there again on our next trip to this magical city.

Lovely room and great view of Rialto Bridge, canal and street. Asked for a Jr Suite which we got. Since 3 of us traveled rather than 4, we expected a larger bed for the 3rd person. She ended up with a twin in the corner of the room. Not as comfortable as expected, but sufficient. Other than that, great accommodations & excellent breakfast. Would recommend it to anyone if they could afford it.

This hotel was a gem. I selected it based on location and the ability to get a view room over the canal. I was surprised that service was so good - from directing us to restaurants or places to visit, to whisking us in upon our arrival only requesting a signature (it was late and we were tired), to having great all around service. This place was a treat.

Hotel Rialto was one of the better hotels that we stayed in all of Italy. It's location at the Rialto bridge is central to all of Venice, and it was convenient to find signs to the bridge, (when)/if you get lost in the alleys of Venice. It took 5 minutes to walk to San Marco Piazza, but 30 minutes if you window shop. The rooms were nice. We had two triples and located by each other. The extensive walk through the hallways of the hotel to our room made it worth while to pay the bell-boy. Keep in mind that the Hotel extends well beyond the Pink fascade all the way to the first alley (the beige building) The cost was high relative to other places we stayed in Italy, but reasonable for Venice. The front desk was also stellar. They were eager to give directions, make arrangements and offer advice. The only negative would be the breakfast. We found the breakfast too simple, given the room price, and the breakfast staff in too much of a rush (un-Italian).

Brilliantly located within walking distance of every major tourist site, this is an expensive hotel, but well worth it if you have a room with a view of the Grand Canal. Breakfast was basic but adequate, and the staff very heplful and multilingual. I would have appreciated more information on the web page about exactly what you get for your room price. The term 'junior suite' is rather vague. The room was fine though.

We were very pleased with the excellent location and quality of this hotel. We were also impressed with how easy it was to book this accommodation using your website, even though other sites had stated that this hotel was fully booked. Although the amenities list an elevator, there is no mention that some rooms are reached by climbing a flight of stairs after leaving the elevator. This was unacceptable to me since I have difficulty climbing stairs. I was shown to Room 402 which required climbing the flight of stairs and although it was a fairly sized room, I could see no place to set my luggage so that I could unpack what was necessary for my stay. I requested another room and was given Room 116 which was adequate but the bathroom was very narrow. I believe there was about 1 foot (if that much) of space between the toilet and the wall. The buffet breakfast had no variety to it - there was no variety in the cold cereal and cold cuts. One of the desk clerks did his best to maintain a stoic demeanor, sorry I did not get his name, but I certainly did not feel welcome.

The Rialto is an excellent hotel for the traveller to Venice with around $200 per night to spend on a double room. The rooms at the front are the best to have for the view but they will be a little noisy from early morning if you like to sleep with the window open (the air conditioning is also rather noisy). But the view from the windows is just like a Canaletto painting (yes even in the 21st century) so that makes it well worthwhile.

For a hotel right on the Grand Canal and next to the Rialto Bridge, you can't beat the Rialto's location. It is faded grandeur with mod cons. We were impressed with the rooms and the location, but breakfast was a bit sparse, and the prices for rooms with a canal view were very expensive. If you're not bothered about a canal view, and want a good central location, the Rialto is a good value-for-money choice.

Basically a very good hotel in a central location, the only problem we had was that our room overlooked a small courtyard and at night the noise of a generator kept my wife awake, but as this was a minor problem and my wife got some earplugs we did,nt feel it neccasary to complain or ask to change rooms, unfortuantly my wife is very noise sensitive, and whilst not a problem to me it was for her. Overall a very good hotel and would certainly recommend it to other people.
