Hotel Papadopoli Venezia - MGallery Collection - Venice

Excellent hotel. Rooms were ready as promised. Service was exceptional, especially with the baggage. We will stay again when we return to Venezia.

Excellent location from the train station. Rooms are very clean and well maintained. Room rate is pricey and without breakfast included! Rooms are small so had to have two rooms for a family of four so it's extremely costly to stay in this hotel for a family.

The hotel is very nice, decoration of the rooms is lovely venetian style. The location is very convenient if you have heavy luggage or are connecting to a cruise or train. The staff is correct - just that. Not a smile, not a can I further help you? etc. Breakfast is horrendously expensive, 25 euros per person, and it's not worth it.

It is within walking distance from the S.Lucia Train Station. However you do have to cross two bridges which could be hassle if you are carrying heavy bags. I walked it with my wife carrying one heavy bag each and a backpack. I'd do the same again. We walked the next morning over to the Maritima (spelling??) cruise ship station.It is a longer walk...not sure if there was a shorter route but if I were to do it again I'd walk to the taxi (car) station (short walk form the hotel) and grab one to the ships...

Although the overall service and room was good, welcoming has been scandalous. The person at reception desk has been unable to get the authorization for my credit card (visa gold), even after a telephone check with my bank in France (I had to call the bank with my own mobile phone. additional cost for me = 10 €); I have been obliged to withdraw cash (with the same card) from a proximate ATM to pay the hotel. It has severely compromized my first day to Venezia : All other payements with the same card during my stay were OK, so I deeply suspect the card terminal of the hotel had a problem. I received absolutely no help from the girl at the desk, and she was absolutely suspicious. Making a reservation at a Sofitel hotel and being a frequent business traveller, I was expecting for more care to customers. I will never go there again.

We were very desapointed by:elevator not working 2 times out of 3; internet did not work, but we were charged euro 20 for one failed connection; ridiculous price of breackfast (euro 25); we arrived on 31.01 (in full period of Carneval), and the first evening, water was fairly cold.

The hotel is very comfortable but it needs some renovation in the rooms and the noise isolation should be improved within the hotel. The price is a bit exccessive taking into account that the rooms are not fully new. The location is interesting since it is very close to Piazza Roma and the boat terminals.
