Enjoyed our 2 stays (before and after cruise)at this boutique hotel. Staff friendly and helpful.Breakfast more than adequate with cold meat, cheese, yoghurt etc.Rooms large; will not necessarily have a view. The approach from S. Zaccaria is easier than from Rialto if you have luggage(fewer steps). A water taxi is an expensive option but gets you very close to the hotel. Would be happy to stay here again.

Terrific location although difficult to find from to the map on the website, I found that most ypeople had trouble locating their hotel in Venice the first day. The staff were very helpful and the manager was terrific, a very nice man. The room was spacious and clean. Would definately go back there.

We recently stayed at Palazzo Vitturi and can confidently recommend it to others for several reasons. It is a lovely hotel , very well located and very competently managed . Staff were more than helpful and extended a warm welcome. We would certainly return to Palazzo Vitturi on any future visits to Venice.

I HAVE BEEN TO VENICE MANY TIMES AND I KNOW VERY WELL HOW EXPENSIVE IT CAN BE. I ALSO KNOW THAT SERVICES ARE OFTEN POOR AND NOT ADEGUATE TO THE PRICE. NOTHING OF THIS IN PALAZZO VITTURI HOTEL. THE ROOM AND THE BATHROOOM WERE VERY SPACIOUS,CLEAN AND QUIET;VERY COMFORTABLE BED. THE LOCATION IS CENTRAL AND FASCINATING. BREAKFAST IS POOR AND SO ARE THE TOWELS IN THE BATHROOM.

Hotel is a wonderful place to stay in Venice. The Campo Formosa is situated in great area, close to both Rialto and to San Marco Piazza. Hotel room was great: spacious, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast included is a great plus, as well as the free wireless. Hotel staff very welcoming and helpful at any time. Venice is magic, and this hotel adds to its allure.

Loved the hotel. Stayed in one room the first night, great size, then moved to the suite overlooking the Square for the next two nights, fantastic! Some difficulty knowing the right direction to go in when we got off the waterbus, but once that was sorted the directions were good. The hotel was in an ideal position for getting about and we walked everywhere.

Venice is not a cheap place, so it is difficult, if not impossible to rate the price/quality relationship. The hotel is not cheap but the room was clean nice and spacious, they only should try to improve the breakfast but it is really a nice place to stay. And then you are in Venice, is there any other place similar in the planet?

This hotel wasn't too difficult to find, but we had to ask a couple of people, which wasnt too bad. We got a warm greeting and the room was lovely and cool. It was central to most sights in Venice and we walked to St Marks Square in 15 minutes. It was very close to the Rialto Bridge. We checked out the next day at 11am, but our train wasnt leaving till 5pm, and as it was hot, we were allowed to leave our luggage at the hotel whilst we walked around, and also to sit and relax in the cool foyer while we waited. There was internet facilities and the breakfast was lovely.

We only stayed in Venice for three nights and this hotel and location, in a relatively quiet yet central piazza, were ideal. The hotel was quiet with quite magnificent and suitably rustic design features both inside and out. There were views of the piazza from some rooms and of 13th century courtyard/s from others. A gliche with the airconditioning in heatwave conditions was dealt with promptly and efficiently. Hotel management even provided a bottle of champagne to make up for any inconvenience. Breakfast was varied and sumptuous. The hotel has few rooms with each very individually sized and decorated. There is a genuine sense of Venetian history here.

Palazzo Vitturi is in a wonderful old building but thoroughly refurbished inside. Our family of four had plenty of elbow room and the bathroom was both modern and spacious. The location is wonderful, away from heavily trafficked areas but an easy walk to all major sites. We were very happy to have chosen this hotel.

We loved everything about this hotel. The room was spacious, the bathroom was incredible with the biggest bathtub I've ever seen. The concierges, especially Elena, couldn't have been more helpful, making phone calls to secure reservations for us, even checking the weather to make sure we would be able to take a water taxi all the way to the airport. The onlhy problem is the directions to the hotel. I would contact the hotel directly to get better directions than you get a the Venere website. We were very happy with out stay and the reasonable price charged.

Breakfast needs work, especially the coffee, which was so weak as to make us wonder if we were actually in Italy. Compared to the rest of our experience at this hotel; however, this was a minor point. The rooms and staff are wonderful. The building was described to us as an 11th-13th century palazzo, which has been tastefully renovated. Rooms are large. Ours had a view of a small courtyard, so was quiet. The hotel is located in easy distance of good restaurants and little shops, as well as main attractions of Venice. We would not hesitate to go back, and would not bother looking for any other hotel if we do go back.

The two main positive points of this hotel (I would rather call it a bed & breakfast) are 1) the perfect location (close to Saint-Marc's plaza and the quiet & nice square the hotel is located on); and 2) the very spacious rooms (esp. for Venice). Breakfast could be better (monotoneous, poor breads, pretty uncosy breakfast room) and hotel personnel does not seem very proactive & client-oriented (although no complaints!), except for the manager, who was so kind to inform us that there was a strike of public transportation in Venice on the day of our departure and who told us how we could get to the airport. Conclusion: if you are not looking for a hotel with very cosy public areas (lobby, bar) and lots of interaction with other hotel guests, Palazzo Viturri is the perfect place to be! We would certainly return to this hotel.

Wonderful hotel with charm and character and very helpful staff. We stayed in two different rooms on either end of a trip that included Venice and Rome. We were a triple with my husband and mother in law. The front suite was perfect with great views over the square and plenty of room. Quiet central location. Easy to find with advice from other visitors as the hotel has no sign. Great resturants just around the corner. Stair lift was very helpful for mother in law after a day spent walking through Venice and Murano.

We loved our stay, our room was really good over-looking a small courtyard which was above a side street, its good to remember that noise echos in Venetian streets and courtyards – its part of the culture – as is the small breakfast which, other than a coffee, I popped out to the local fruit vendor and bought some giant fresh figs. Venetians have their breakfast on the go. There is a balcony from the central breakfast area which overlooks the Piazza Santa Maria Formosa, from here we watched the gondolas, the stall vendors, the trattorias, the tourists, the locals. We stayed 48 hours and took away some very good memoires.

Very comfortable and giving you possibility to feel durring one weekend like venitian dodge ... A litle difficult to find because not strictly on the direct way to the San marco place common turist is using what is in te same time very god point for this hotel. Hotel in calm place and only 2 minutes by feet from main street crodwded with people and all kinds of boutiques. We arrived in Venice in a rainstorm and it was very frustrating to be hauling baggage down the streets in search of our hotel. Instructions on which boat stop to get off at and how to find the hotel from that stop should be given. This is very important as there are no taxis (or cars of any sort) to take you where you need to go. The entrance to the hotel had no sign to indicate that it was a hotel or the name of it. The second morning there, we found that our room had no hot water available. We didn't get any hot water until the evening of the next day (we did tell the management of the problem immediately). We were cold and wet when we arrived and when we inquired as to turning up the heat in our room, we were told that since there was power rationing in Venice, our hotel wasn't allocated any electricity for heating or cooling at the time of year that we were there. Also, our room had a very unpleasant smell (like old houses do sometimes, this building was around 700 years old). We did find the location convenient to the San Marco Plazza, which was a large and worthwhile tourist attraction. I have been told that hotels cost a lot in Venice, so perhaps this hotel is a good value for the money. We have no way of knowing.

We were delighted with our stay at the Palazzo Vitturi, and would recommend it to anyone. The location is excellent, the hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff are extremely friendly. The staff were expecting us when we arrived, and were very welcoming. The room was extremely spacious, and very clean. We loved standing on the (shared) balcony watching the passers by. It seems an extremely relaxed environment, and I got the impression that nobody in the area felt at all intimidated if they were walking alone, late at night, etc. The breakfast was fine, typical continental. We did the usual stuff, St Marks Sqaure (25 euro for two coffees), Rialto Bridge, and wandering around the backstreets. It is extremely expensive place, moreso for drink than food. We found a really great place for one afternoon, San Polo square, which seemed to be full of locals but was still pricey. The only shame is that there is no bar or restaurant in the hotel, but there are many within a few minutes walk. One bonus was that the Room Mini Bar was cheaper than the local bars! The staff were also very accomodating with our bags after we had checked out, not minding when we would come back during the day to add to luggage. Thoroughly good place.

We stayed one night in room 27. We found the room was extremely nice - designy but cosy at the same time, a combination of supermodern and classic furniture. The public area and entrance were also very designy. The positon of the hotel is great, Campo Santa Maria Formosa is one of our favourite squares in Venice, not too many tourists but close to nice shopping streets, the Rialto bridge and the St. Mark's Square. BUT there was quite a discrepancy between the high end room design and the low key service and cheap, supersmall breakfast. No hospitality at all. We thought that it was nice for one or two nights, but definetely not for a longer stay in Venice.

Palazzo Vitturi is a very clean and modern renovated small hotel, surprisingly quiet, the style of "old palazzos" is still there. One problem only: EXTREMELY difficult to find, although only a few minutes (8-10) from Rialto bridge, because like many places in Venice there are no advertising signs to preserve the character of the old city. The Address "Castello" means just the quarter of the city, you can find it however by following the house numbers in castello. It is worth it, but try to have only small luggage. I can fully reccommand however this beautiful hotel!

We've visited Venezia in august 2005 . We're four people (two adults and two children). We used a quadruple room (I think it was the only one at the hotel). The quadruple room was excellent!!. It was a very spacious room with two double beds. Very nice, with original drawings in the ceiling... The hotel is an old palace, very well restored... Fantastic. It was clean and quiet, and situated in a perfect place: Campo(Square)Santa Maria Formosa. Near San Marco. Luminous and quiet. The service is good. The only "negative" thing is a breakfast a little bit poor (in my opinion). We recommend it!.

As we read with other reviewers, finding the hotel proved to be a challange. We called the hotel is get more information on location. we were told which main piazza is was near and we found it without any problems. The rooms were very large but basic. The washroom were new. Breakfast is served in the corridor outside of our room. If you have difficulty with stairs this location may be a problem as there are only stairs to the 2nd and 3rd levels which are quite steep. Overall we were very satisfited with this hotel.

What a great hotel! Although difficult to find initially, especially since there is only a small card on the door indicating that it is a hotel, it is well located only 10 minutes from Piazza San Marco. To get there easily, take the Vaporeto to Rialto or San Marco and then ask for directions to Piazza Santa Maria Formosa. The hotel is situated in a historic old building but the rooms are new. Our room was huge and the bathroom was large, new and all marble. All staff were friendly and spoke English. We had some problems with the hot water but this was only a small issue. I could not believe you could get such a great Hotel in Venice for such a small price. I have recommended this Hotel to all my friends and would definitely stay here again especially for the price.

My Mother and I had a wonderful stay in Venice. This hotel was great, very clean and spacious room with air conditioning. We stayed in a superior double room, it was quite luxurious. There is a mini bar too. The breakfast was basic - croissant, bread roll and cereal, fruit juice and tea or coffee. But there is so much wonderful food available all over Venice it did not matter. It was sufficient. The biggest problem is finding the hotel. You need to get the water taxi to Rialto Bridge and it is just a few minutes walk from there. Ask for Campo Di Santa Maria Formosa. This is the Square where the hotel is. There is a church opposite. Enjoy!!

Not as straight forward as we thought it would be to find the hotel. Winding streets caused a bit of a problem but got to the square eventually. No name on hotel so wandered up and down for a while until the person from reception came out to greet us. The pictures of the suite online that we booked did not match the room we were allocated. When we enquired, the pictures were of a family suite. A little deceiving. The suite we had was beautiful. Two balconies, air conditioned, HUGE bed! The square it is situated in has a church and bell tower which chimes each hour. Little market stalls dotted around the square. The river runs along side the square with a gondelier sat waiting to take you on a magical trip in a gondola. Breakfast was a little sparce. Not much choice but adequate if forewarned. Ten-fifteen minutes from St.Marks square. On the whole a truly magical trip. Would not hesitate to return.

We travelled to Venice on 2nd of July for one night. Palazzo Vitturi is located on a very nice place where you can sit and watch the people walking arround. There is no sign at the building that shows you that this is a hotel called Palazzo Vitturi, so it would be very helpful if you print out the photo on the homepage. This helps us to find the hotel. The rooms at Palazzo Vitturi are very nice, spacious and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only small minus was that the breakfast was a little poor. Our stay in Venice was very beautiful and it was perfected with our stay at Palazzo Vitturi. I can recommend this hotel to everyone!

The hotel is quite far from St marks square , infact much easier to walk from rialto bridge stop The reception staff at check in was very new and had no idea of how things in the hotel worked..like the lights on the staircase Rooms were nice and A/C effective There is no lift in the hotel and we had to carry our luggage up the 2nd floor [very steep stairs] as the stairlift was not working Breakfast was ok Also I paid for 2 deluxe double rooms and got 1 standard and 1 deluxe room I think overall I would not stay there again for the same price

Palazzo Vittori is a clean, well-run hotel in a quiet piazza located about a 10 minute walk from San Marco's and equally close to the Rialto Bridge. Our room was huge (especially by Italian standards) with very high ceilings, lots of orginal detail, and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was spotless. The breakfasts are simple but adequate and the service was pleasant and efficient. I would definitely recommend this place to others. It is a great value in an otherwise expensive city. It's location is a bit out of the way, yet central at the same time.

The hotel was great although it did not have air conditioning - so it got very hot at times. My biggest complaint is that the night attandent was very unprofessional. We were 4 girls and he made us all feel uncomfortable. Even after we asked him to not touch us he would continue to try to put his hands on us.

We stayed 3 nights. Our first day we had a loose toilet seat, it never did get fixed all the way. Bathroom supplies we difficult in getting refilled. Terrible mosquito problem, killed over 25 in days!!! the AC was on, but it did nothing, they officially make it cold after June 1st, so it runs, but doesn't cool anything! Service was not great, 2 wakeup calls that never happened.Food was basic, at least the breads were fresh. Skip the coffee, drink tea instead. The room was huge, overall, the place is great, it needs better service and a way to be more comfortable with the heat and mosquitoes. I think they charge a bit too much considering it's not perfect, but that's Venice, a big tour attraction that's over-priced and the service is lousy.

I reserved this room for my family of four adults in May 2005. We requested a suite, and what we received was way beyond our expectations. The suite was spacious and beautifully decorated, with an extremely large living room, bedroom and bathroom. The sofa in the living room had a pullout bed, so, in addition to the bedroom, there was plenty of room to sleep. The bathroom was spacious and had all of the toiletries/hair dryer we needed for our stay. Our view was of Santa Maria Formosa church, and was only a short walk to the main attractions. A lovely breakfast was served each morning. The staff were kind and quite helpful to us. The only downsides (and these are minor) were that 1) the air conditioning had not yet been turned on, so we had to keep the windows open at night and so we had a few mosquito bites in the morning 2) we are used to shower curtains/doors in the bathtub, but instead there was a piece of clear plastic that partially covered the bathtub (so we had to be careful when using the shower, otherwise the whole bathroom would have been wet - but this seems to be common in many European hotels) and 3) there is no sign that says Palazzo Vitturi on the front of the hotel, so we had to ask around to find the actual hotel.

Very nice room. Excellent location, central to major sites and restaurants. Our room did have a 16-step climb to the bathroom. I don't know if all rooms are like this, but this could be a problem for elderly or handicapped guests. Staff was polite and helpful, and spoke excellent English. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was also relatively easy to find, but, as with most hotels in Venice, not well marked. I recognized it from the picture on the venere.com page.

A lovely location overlooking a lively though not too noisy sqare with a beautiful view onto a church and a small canal including gondola and the gondoliere spot. The rooms are spacious, well furnished and very clean. The only problem was MOSQUITOES (lots of them and very active during the night)I would certainly return to that hotel but not without an anti-mosquito spray!

This was an excellent hotel and very nicely fitted out, especially the bathroom. We also had troubles with mosquitos, but we went on a search and destroy mission and after that it was ok. Breakfast, however, is virtually non-existent. And we I am glad we had a copy of the picture of the front of the hotel, there is no sign on the outside of the building so we would have really struggled. With the photo on hand, it was easy to find.

Suite: The huge high ceiling rooms gave a feeling of space, and were not overcrowded with too much furniture, just what was needed. The olde world atmosphere was contrasted with a beautiful modern bathroom. The wonderful stone balconies meant many hours people-watching in the square below. The church opposite and the stalls in the square meant that there was always something to see. The excellent location, so close to St Marks Square means that nothing is a walk too far! The hotel staff were very helpful with routes, and maps were provided. The extravagance of a water taxi will take you to within a few yards of the hotel, otherwise water buses from St Marks or Rialto will require 10-15 mins walking. Venice is a great city to visit, wander and get lost in.(everyone does!)The Palazzo Vitturi is a perfectly placed base from which to do just that. In fact, the only thing that could have improved the hotel, is to have tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. (Please note frequent English tea drinkers.)

Palazzo Vitturi is in an excellent location and is quiet. We stayed in Room 21 which had 2 balconies right on the square facing the church. The only drawback to the hotel is that most of the rooms are on the corridor where breakfast is served which can be noisy.

The Hotel Palazzo Vitturi is a great value. It is recently remodeled, and our room (the 4 person room) was huge, had very high ceilings, and was very quiet. It was perfect for our family of four -- the girls slept together on the convertable sofa-bed in the room. The Campo Santa Maria di Formosa in which the Vitturi is located is beautiful, wonderful, and perfectly located -- a few minutes away from St. Marks and Rialto, but off the main tourist throughfares. We did a have a few problems - the switch on one light was broken and the toilet had a leak that made a puddle on the bathroom floor. The desk told us that the plumber was coming after our first night, but he apparently never showed up or didn't fix it, as we also had to deal with the leak the 2nd night (a bath towel around to toilet did the trick).

If you stay at this hotel there are two things you should know, 1. There is no sign on the front of the building saying that it is a hotel so we had to locate it through a photo (which luckily we had printed out) and 2. The street name means nothing as it's on a square! Other than that the actual location is fantastic for doing the sights, and it's nice and quiet. The staff were pleasant but we spent a whole weekend asking for a missing bath plug which never materialised and if you expect a nice large breakfast you'll be disappointed, it's nothing to write home about. Room was fantastic though and as it has been recently refurbished v. clean and modern (with heating/air con) but still in keeping with venetian style.

A bit more choice at breakfast would make this the perfect hotel for Venice - great location, cool rooms, proper pricing, professional staff, interesting building and a real sense of being somewhere a bit special. There's nothing 'corporate' about the hote, totally individual.

I have a great stay at this wonderful hotel. The room was beautiful, tasteful and extremely spacious. I was also very impressed with the quality and style of the well appointed bathroom. I found the staff friendly and helpful. I was also very impressed with the value for money, although I believe that the room we stayed in is much more expensive during peak season. I only had one problem staying here - mosquitoes. These are obviously a bit of a problem in Venice, although I was naive enough to think this would not be the case in February. There were some buzzing about in our room and my boyfriend and I got bitten all over.
