The hotel was fresh and clean; the staff was friendly; the breakast room was a terrace on the Grand Canal (a short walk to its sister hotel, the Monaco); and the location was amazing. This is the ideal hotel for a first time visit to Venice. Even though I now have a better feel for the area, I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is a depandance of Hotel Monaco thus breakfast is served outside Selvadego. Top location, but watch out, the room had wooden soffit and the timber beams squeak and make crack noise all time, did not sleep very well, I asked to change the room but not very friendly reception did not help.

An excellent stay - even in the recently refurbished annexe just a few paces from St Mark's square. Good quality fixtures and fittings, even a kettle and tea/coffee provided, good central location, lovely bathroom and above all (in March) very reasonable prices - 100 euros per room only, including a small continental breakfast in the main hotel overlooking the della Salute church.

The hotel is within a minute of Piazza San Marco - a definite plus since this stay was for Carnevale. The price was excellent considering the location. This is an annex to the Monaco and Grand Canal hotel - the breakfast was a couple of blocks away (which is no problem at all). The breakfast room overlooks the Grand Canal.

The room was beautiful and spacious, even better than pictured in the photos. Great location, just a few steps from St. Mark's.

I liked the hotel, the location is great. However their accounting of services used (like what we ordered for breakfast) is in accurate and led to disputes.

Nice hotel with good service and outstanding location. No view, but you won't be disappointed with the quality of this hotel, or it's proximity to San Marco, only a few steps away.

At check-in they told us we had a room at their sister hotel, Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal, which was a short walk away. This hotel was excellent. Location and services were excellent. The room was small, but comfortable and quiet.

I had an excellent stay in Venice. The situation of the hotel was superb. I would recommend it to anyone and next time I go to Venice I will certainly consider staying at the same hotel.

1) You must check in & out at Hotel Monaco & Gran Canal. 2) Breakfast at the same place. 3) Nice accomodation 50mt to St. Marks Square. 4) Large Room, (especially for Venice) quite good furnishing. Probably too many things in the room with a little confusion. 5) awful welcoming, staff not friendly, cold and pompous, while i was paying the bill the personnel was making other duties, no smile no thanks. delay for the delivery of the luggages! in other properties in venice, 5 starL, the staff is warm and friendly. for this reason i will not be back here!

Hotel Selvadego is an annex of the nearby Hotel Monaco. It was modern, with a comfortable bedroom and spacious bathroom. Selvadego has no public rooms to speak of, but is ideal for someone who (like me) just wants a clean, comfortable room for the night. Tea/coffee making facilities are in the room, along with the ubiquitous mini-bar. Continental breakfast is served in the Hotel Monaco's restaurant, overlooking the Grand Canal. The room contained a mini-kitchen with 2 hot rings and a sink, plus plates/cups etc. for 2. This was not advertised and could be very useful to guests staying several days. Directions to the hotel on the website are not good. The entrance is NOT in Calle Selvadego, but in Boca de Piazza, just off the western end of Piazza San Marco. There is just a small brass plaque on the wall next to the entrance stating "Palazzo Selvadego". For location, convenience and value, Hotel Selvadego was excellent.

Excellent hotel modern interior and brilliant location. Only thing I would like to see improved is the breakfast taken at the Monaco e Grand Hotel - 1 croissant, 1 roll, 1 muffin and half a brioche each just is not a 4 star hotel level breakfast.

The hotel is just behind Piazza San Marco - an excellent location at any time, but especially so during Carnevale. The entrance is easy to miss but the location on the map and the photo of the exterior are accurate. Some maps on other sites mislocate the hotel. The room was quiet despite being only a one minute walk from the stage. Breakfast and check-out were in another nearby hotel.

This was truly a beautiful hotel. The rooms were adequate in size. Just had problems locating the hotel. The bathroom was incredibly large and beautiful. The breakfast served at their sister hotel was right on the water and the sites and the service were delightful. Would definitely revisit here.

I had a clean, spacious room. Very nice walk-in shower. Nicely appointed room with queen bed. Very nice location next to St. Mark's square. I would stay here again.
