Well situated Hotel. Nearest Vaperatto Stop is San Zacheria. Lovely Hotel with authentic 14th C fixtures & characture. Lovely Welcome at the Palazzo Priuli. Room was a deluxe Twin with Canal View in the main body of the hotel. Was a little on the small side - but quite adequate for just my Mother and I. Only 11 rooms in the hotel so it had a nice Boutique Feel about the place. Breakfast was full of choice & the Service in general were all good. We arrived back to our room after the first evening of exploring to find a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us - with Compliments of the hotel, which was a nice touch. Room service (coffees) seemed to be free too. Surrounding areas - literally 4-5 mins from St Marks (once you get your bearings) , pretty canals and on a main Gondola Route - so wear earplugs if you want a lie in as they do make a noise going past the hotel in the mornings. €80 for 35-40 mins. Expensive - but has to be done. There are some nice restaurants within 2-3 minute walk away from the hotel. Look out for those that include service / cover charge and offer tourist set menus for best value. We had a young family in the room next to us and they did make some noise which travelled along the corridor and into our room, but apart from that we have no complaints about the hotel. If we go back and can get the same or a cheaper rate we would definitely stay again! Venice is the most expensive city we have stayed in -beating Nice, Cannes & Copenhagen. €8.20 for a latte in St Marks Sq, €6.50 for a beer... but to be expected. Best value is the ice cream, the vaporetto 12 hour pass and the aimless wandering around this marvelous city.

The hotel is in the back alley. Our room which is at the back of the hotel faces a construction site/dumping area. It is indeed very close to St Mark's which is very convenient. The bed covers are very old and dusty. The washroom is clean but there are holes on the wall. Water from the shower seeps through. The shower curtain is too short so there is water everywhere after showering. The bed is squeeky and my 2 teenage daughters dare not move at night. Size of the room by European standard is very large but it is certainly not what we saw in the website. The room is furnished with old/antique furniture which is very charming. The chandlier is stunning. Breadfast is good with variety of ham, cheese, hardboard egg, toast. It is a very pricy room but is probably in line with everything in Venice, one of the most over rated tourist spot.

While it may not offer all of the facilities of a large hotel, the Palazzo Priuli is an excellent hotel. The building is a gem listed in the popular DK guide to Venice. Staff are very nice and helpful, the atmosphere very cosy and private. The location is perfect - very near to Piazza San Marco but in a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle. A great advantage of the hotel's location is the proximity of an excellent gourmet restaurant - Il RIDOTTO in the Campo SS. Filippo e Giacomo. The restaurant's owner runs a trattoria just opposite, and we can recommend its cusine, too. Next time when in Venice, we will stay in the Palazzo Priuli again.

We have stayed at this hotel twice before but always in the annexe parts, where you have to go to the main hotel for breakfast. This time we upgraded to the main hotel and were pleased we did. The room was comfortable, very clean and had a view of a small local canal which gondoliers use. we had a short walk to breakfast down a corridor instead of a street; a bonus when you visit in February. The breakfast was an excellent buffet with a wide variety of foods. The staff were helpful and reception was always manned. The hotel itself is a short distance from St Marks Square but we used the San Zaccharia vapareto stop as it was closer and meant we did not have to contend with the crowds in the Palazzo. We will continue to use this hotel when we visit Venice as it has a good location for the San marco area, and it is a quiet, comfortable hotel. Access however in the main building beyond the ground floor may be a little difficult due to the sloping nature of the stairs, but then it is a former palazzo of a Doge and not a purpose built hotel

Very nice - public areas are beautiful. The first night our room was unbearably hot, and also noisy, as next to breakfast room and construction going on next to it. The room was graciously changed upon our request, and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. A little difficult to find it initially, but worth the effort. Great location, and lovely hotel. Also, the little mask shop right at the foot of the bridge by it is worthwhile, and well priced.

I read the reviews before booking, and read about room #104 being esp. noisy due to proximity to the breakfast prep. area. So I requested to NOT have #104 when I booked. Of course, that's the room I was given upon arrival! And it was extremely noisy. Hard to believe they can't sound-proof the door any better.

For our first visit in Venice, Hotel Palazzo Priuli was excellent. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the bathrooms were large and spacious. It was expensive, but well worth the money. The hotel staff was nice but just a bit stuffy. The air conditioning was the best we had in all of Italy. I would recommend this Hotel

Although I enjoyed my stay, it was not fully communicated that our 4 bed room was really a normal double with 2 extra beds crammed in. The room's proximity to kitchen/preparation room for breakfast made it extremely noisy. It was only the charm of the hotel and it's location that saved it for me.

We were very pleased with the hotel. The triple room was very spacious, however there was not much draw or hanging space for clothes. The breakfast area was quite cramped but worked ok. There was no info on hotel services--trips etc. Very good air conditioning.Would probably return for convenience of situation.

We had a wonderful stay in the Hotel Priuli. It is the most impressive old Hotel we have visited. There was only one displeasure: we are a family of four, in the breakfastroom all tables were lay only for two persons and the employee of this room was very unfriendly, she declined to take the tables together so we coud not sit together. But if we come back to Venice, we would stay again in the Hotel Palazzo Priuli.

Our room (No. 104) was directly located next to the employee service area for the breakfast room. At 6:00 am it was not possible to enjoy any further sleep because of the excessively loud noise of breakfast preparations. Room 104 not recommended for a family of 4 because one of the childrens beds blocked access to the wardrobe. Photographs give an impression that the rooms are larger than in reality. No direct access to canal entrance for Water-Taxis. "Canal View" is open to interpretation. All Hotel staff, without exception, are extremely helpful. Recommended for a couple without children.

We stayed at quadruple room with canal view. The room is really good. Classic, antique style furnished with very comfortable modern bathroom. But I found the canal view was not essential, the room itself is nice. If I have a chance to stay again and the room without canal view is available, I will prefer non-canal view. It might help my budget. And breakfast is just normal of European, it means far below compare to Asian hotels. For Asians, do not expect for hotel breakfast. Anyway Priuri is a good hotel, I can recommend to my friends.

The hotel was perfect--our room overlooked the canal and we had glimpses of neighborhood life in the early mornings as the children went to school and the shops opened. Everyone was helpful and professional. The water taxi driver that took us to the airport didn't have change--(we figured this would happen)--and neither did we, so he made an extra 5 Euro's from us--quite on purpose, I suppose. But we got there in 20 minutes--a fast ride !! Thanks--loved the hotel--fabulous.

We had an excellent experience. I only wish that we would have reserved an additional night (very hard to do by the way). The staff actually helped us book another room at another hotel for the next night. Beautiful room (corner where two canals met)with excellent ammenities, great breakfast, and location, location, location).

The hotel combines the historic charme of an old Venecian palace with modern hotel standard. The romms and the breakfast hall are tastefully decorated, the location is very close to St Marc's Square with a nice, but quiet neighbourhood. The breakfast is excellent! You won't need lunch soon. At least the off-season prices are a great offer. We strongly recommend Priuli Palace if you are looking for a small quiet hotel with architectual highlights, modern comfort and a nice and relaxed atmosphere.

As you can see from the formula I was pleased with the hotel, the only disadvantage were the facilities,i.e. one point - they did not have a bar or something similar where one could get a cup of coffee or a beer when coming 'home' from sightseeing. This would have been very convenient. Perhaps you could recommend the manager to include this service into their offer. On the whole I was content with the service, rooms and other facilities.

When we arrived we were informed that our room could not be available until the following day due to circumstances beyond Management's control. We were provided with alternative accommodation in Liassidi Palace Hotel and we found this to be excellent. The arrangement was well managed and we were provided with an upgraded room when we returned to the Pruili the next day. The hotel fully met our expectations. The only minor issues we wish to raise are that the room was heated by a regulated system which we could not manually override and consequently it was not quite as warm as we would have chosen, and tea/coffee making facilities would have been welcomed. Also we did e mail the hotel direct prior to our arrival to raise a query over the word 'depandant' referred to in our booking and we did not receive a response.

At first, we were brought to a standard double room which we reserved. However, there was a strange smell in the room. After reporting this, and without asking questions, we were upgraded to the only other room available which was a suite on the topmost floor (not in the main hotel building). It was a wonderful stay. The front desk was extremely helpful with all our questions (about transportation to the airport, places to eat, etc.). The only thing about this hotel is that is was very hard to find. There are no signs for the hotel. The map led us to the general area, but in the end we had to find someone who knew where the hotel was. All in all, our stay at this hotel added to a great ending to our honeymoon! Thank you!

Very elegant rooms. Recently remodeled, in true Venetian style. Everything was great, except it's not on a public waterway, so you have to walk with your luggage about 1 Km from St. Marks Square or about 50 meters if you use a private boat taxi. This is common with most hotels in Venice, unless it is on a major waterway.

The overall hotel experience was disappointing. Unfortunately, the room that we were allocated was in an annex - of which there was no mention on the website. A situation compounded by the fact the building was being refurbished. The reason for choosing the hotel was the history associated with the building - we were unable to experience this being some distance from the hotel.

We booked Piazza Priuli based on photos and information on Venere.com. Price was as quoted. Our accomodations were in an annex, not the main building, and were adequate but not the charming old surroundings we were expecting. Breakfast was surprisingly good -- except for raw eggs, which had to be placed in a cooker -- there was no signage to warn newcomers -- a small but significan detail in an otherwise carefully thought out experience. Most staff knowledgable and helpful.
