Hotel Palazzo Giovanelli e Gran Canal - Venice

We had been welcomed by a very friendly and proffesional personnel ready to assist in anything we asked for. Although we made a booking for a deluxe room(...which was stunning!!!); we had an offer for the presidential suite bargain priced at that time (!!!) and of course we moved in: a huge lounge and a huge bedroom with balconies overlooking the Canale Grande, with marbled bathrooms in a renovated historic building with genuine old murals, huge wooden carved doors,huge murano chandeliers, full of venetian atmosphere. Excellent, spotless, clean, MARVELOUS. The only thing I would have changed, if it was on my hand: I would add 2 coughes in the lounge instead of the 10 arm chairs which I found too many... and I wish we would have stayed more than 1 night. Definitely we will come back. The right hotel at the right place

Great new hotel and nice rooms and easy access to vaporetto. However, no room service nor restaurant within hotel.

We had a standard room, it was very nice and since it was extreemely hot, we loved the aircondition! Breakfast was fine, only a little disappointed by the instant coffee.The hotel is in walking distance to all main attractions.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights and we absolutely loved it. It is located right by the water bus station and although tricky to find - it is worth it. We also loved the breakfast. Those who complained about it probably use to American bacon and sausage, have never traveled to Europe and do not know what a European breakfast is. It had variety of options and absolutely hit the spot. The rooms are very clean and new, they are rather spacious and comfortable. The hotel staff is very friendly and willing to help. Throughout our stay we were extremely pleased with everything and we would definitely stay there when we come to Venice next time!

We stayed here for 3 nights bed and breakfast for our honeymoon. The hotel was a bit tricky to find as we hadn't appreciated it was right next to San Stae church so spend 30 minutes looking for it down numerous alleyways before stumbling across it with another guest who had also been looking for it! Our room was a fair size, spotlessly clean & extremely quiet (all rooms are soundproofed). The hotel staff were extremely helpful & arranged a complimentary speedboat for us to take us to Murano. Breakfast was continental and disappointing considering the price we were paying - the fruit salad was a choice of prunes or tinned peaches, there weren't yoghurts available every day & there was just a choice between croissants or rolls with jam, salami or cheese. Location wise the hotel is approx a 10 minute walk from Rialto Bridge & 15 minutes walk from St Marks Square so ideally located to explore Venice. Overall, despite the somewhat limited choices at breakfast we enjoyed our stay here.

With rates around 105 € (weekday in March) for a double superior room, this hotel has an excellent relationship between price and quality. The hotel is located next to the San Stae church and to the Gran Canal. It is separated from the church by a small rio. The double superior room 404 is spacious and quiet. One window opens to the side of the San Stae church. By stretching a bit, one can see the Gran Canal (see picture). The hotel is easy to reach by taking the vaporetto line 1 and getting out at the San Stae stop. From there it is a 200 m walk to the hotel entrance. The only less good point to this hotel is the breakfast. It is good but one would expect more from such an hotel (no fruit salad, little choice).
