The night manager was extremely helpful...the daytime manager not so much. The room was very small but adequate. We didn't choose it for the room but for the location which was excellent.

City break. The hotel was small and friendly which we go for with excellant service. Breakfast was continental but there was plenty to choose from and the food quality was excellant. Definately recommend this hotel to family and friends.

We enjoyed our stay, although the staff were a bit condescending. We could not figure out how to get into the main hotel for breakfast and so we skipped it. The location was wonderful.

This was our first visit to Venice, but I think it will be the first of many. THe city is charming. We also very much enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Noemi. The staff was friendly, and the location was great (very close to Piazza San Marco). It was relatively easy to find (at least as easy as anything else in Venice). We were fortunate to get a great deal on Venere.com, so we only paid about 65 euro/night. There were only two drawbacks to our room at the Hotel Noemi: When we first arrived, the electricity would not go on in our room, but the staff VERY QUICKLY came to our aid and solved the problem, second, there was construction going on nearby, so we woke to hammers around 8am both days we were there. It was OK, since we planned to get up and go sightseeing anyway, but if sleeping in is your first vacation priority, I would make sure this construction is finished first. That being said, I think we would return to this hotel, especially for the price.

Great location, only a minute away from Piazza S.Marcos. The hotel is ok, and you get good accomodation and service for the price paid.

We had an initial problem with the reservation. When we arrived on October 5, the hotel said that they had expected us on October 4, so that our room was taken. We showed the desk clerk the printout from Venere, which clearly stated that we were arriving on October 5, and he found a room for us at a nearby hotel. He said that the room was more expensive, but that the Noemi would pay the difference. We moved back to the Noemi for the last two nights. After our initial dismay, we were satisfied with the situation, and grateful that it had been resolved relatively quickly and easily. Our room at the Noemi was quiet (with just a bit of noise from the calle outside), clean, and comfortable. The hotel was perfectly situated between the Rialto and San Marco--just far enough from the crowds but convenient.

Too expensive for the quality of the rooms and service provided; breakfast more than light with "canned" products; no bread available on sundays and holidays!!! Most of the employees are nice and competent, but we were "welcomed" by a very unpleasant man. Overall: a good way to make easy money with turists since the service is way below what the hotel claims and could indeed be! Excellent location, 5 minutes from Piazza San Marco.

It is an exellent hotel with good service, clean, not so big but cute rooms (there was even a curtain over the bed, which looked very romantic). Breakfast:one bread with one butter and a choice of meatpaste and marmelade and a croissant filled with marmelade on the table. Then you could choose two different cakes, other sweet croissants, orangejuice and crackers. So after five days we were glad to get a different breakfast for some time...Breakfastroom very small,6 tables for ca.12 people Room:not very big but clean and stylish (if you like venezian romance: our room (103) was all in gold and white). Bath:Our room included the bath and shower, but the shower really is tiny, i think if you are a big person, you would not have much room to wash everything. Service: very helpful and friendly Location: from Rialto throug a very small road called Calle Bembo which changes into calle dei Fabbri and just go on , you will find the hotel at your left side. Its quite a bit to walk. Then the Hotelreception is in the first floor, but the stairs is not as bad as described, it surely is not quite suitable for very heavy big luggage, but then I think if you carry these your room will anyway be to small... I absolutely liked this hotel, good price for room, not very luxurious, but it is absolutely suiting for a short stay.

Nice, clean, price/quality. Kind of far from the metro 10 minute walk. Also far (20minute ride) in the metro to downtown. Friendly staff. The one thing I did not like was that the bathroom has one of those sensor that it activates with motion. Well if you do not move in 2 seconds the light goes off, so if you are in the bathroom you must have one hand in the air waving, taking a shower for sure it will be in the dark. This happen in the 3 floor shower.

The only item that was not as indicated on the website was the television. We did have a tv in the room but it did not get any reception and according to the front desk, they only get 1 channel but we didn't get that. It would not stop me from staying there in the future.

Location was great and thanks to Venere we saved some money from the conference hotel--about $300 a night. Yet I suspect we could have done better on price and room size. I don't really understand how this place gets a "good rating" and makes me suspect that other ratings are inflated. It was cramped. We had the room with the private bath and for us big Americans we kept bumping our heads and tripping over suitcases. TV was fuzzy and half the stations were for pay phone sex. For St. Marks square this is a low end hotel but in a historic building. Next time we will stay in the St. Marks area but not here. We thought the Lido island was a lot of fun for afternoon swim, biking and volleyball. I have a feeling the hotels are bigger and that deserves a serious look--it is only ten minutes away. Music and dancing at St. Marks square along with Pizza was spectacular. Casanova, the movie, was filmed all over this place. While in Italy, we never got any rude treatment. Great trip but as my son says it was "OK" place much like he says about the high school cafeteria food.

The rooms were as beautiful as the photographs on their website indicated. They are doing major rennovations in the main part of the hotel, so they put us up in a room that was just around the corner from the main building. This was no problem at all. The only complaint I have is that the hot water in the shower only lasted for about 15 minutes, which is fine for one person taking a quick shower, but Venice is for couples, and if you want to shower with a partner, you're going to have to make it all business, because before you know it your hot water is gone. Everything else was great.

We really like Noemi in Venice. Room was small, but beautiful and very reasonably priced (for Italy) and in a terrific location. Unlike most hotels in Italy they did not provide a breakfast room. For these prices, we went down the street and had coffee! We would definitely go back.

The ideal place for the "newcomer": modestly priced (no frills, no breakfast), and only two steps away from Piazza San Marco. That means you are right in the center of the coffee-bars, shops, picturesque places, gondolas, etc. The only drawback: In case you book a room with bath in the corridor you might have to queue up in the morning ...

Since the room was facing the street it was nearly impossible to sleep due to the loud noise coming from the bar down the street. If the windows were closed it is possible to block out some noise. Not easy to find but easy to access the city once found.

NO RECOMENDABLE

Great hotel - I was hesitant at first because it is listed as a 1 star hotel, but it was excellent. Don't let the rating fool you, this hotel has a phenomenal location (St. Mark's is right around the corner). Had an excellent stay. Clean, tidy. And a great location. Although it was somewhat difficult to find. The actual street is the Calle dei Fabbri, not (Calle)San Marco. Subtle difference. Number is 909 as supposed to, but that makes it tricky to locate first time round. When standing on Piazza San Marco, take the alleyway left of the famous café Quadri (northside of the square) and across the bridge. Follow the 'Calle' for about 30 meters after the bridge and you're there. Sandwichshop just outside the hoteldoor is excellent; check out the copper polished coffee-machine!

The adress on the website said San Marco 909 - please bear in mind that it is not a street adress but a number in an area. Noemi is very close to the San Marco plain, but the directions on the website could have been better. The hotel rooms are lovely, very clean and the decor is beautiful. Definitely a pleasurable experience!

This stay at Noemi was incredibly dissapointing. I stayed at the hotel 3 years ago and the decline in the quality of services was obvious. As a group of three we were put in a single room even though we booked a spacious triple. The room was small and dark with low ceilings and no room to move. It definitely did not correspond to the pictures we viewed on their website. The bathroom smelled horribly and we had to let the water run all night every night to clear the pipes. I realize Venice in August can be a little smelly but other hotels did not have the problem. The so-called airconditioning did not even move the stifling air in the room. The service at the reception desk was rude and unfriendly. They would not split the bill between two credit cards. There was no breakfeast at the hotel even thought it was supposed to be included in the price. In summary the hotel was horrible, not worth the asking price and it almost ruined our stay in Venice.

We were delighted with this hotel which is right in the heart of Venice. There was some noise from the street late at night (tourists) or early morning (delivery trolleys)but, hey, this is Venice in the height of the season not some country retreat in the middle of nowhere. We took full advantage of the hotel's proximity to St Mark's Square which was the setting for a magical evening sitting in the warm night air listening to Florian's orchestra.

Hotel Noemi was super easy to find! It is a 2 minute or less walk to San Marco square so if you get lost on the island you just say where is San Marco Square and you can find Hotel Noemi. No it was not a posh 5 star hotel, but for people on a buddget looking to get a good sleep and take a shower and be in a good location on the Island this is the perfect spot!! The staff is Wonderful and so sweet, I already miss them!! I would definately return here!!

My daughter and I were very happy with our room. It was very clean, well taken care of and a great location to the center of Venice. The only thing we were not happy about was the location of the shower and toilet. They were located next to the reception desk and a bit of a distance from our room. That made it a little inconvenient and uncomfortable, esp. in the morning when going to take a shower. That was just a minor inconvenience for the price we paid. We would definitely stay there again!!

On the internet it quoted a price including breakfast but when we enquired where the breakfast room was, as the public area seemed to be under renovations, we were told that breakfast was not included in our price. Also we were unsure of what catagory our room was std or luxury. We had a triple and it was not catagorised so we were unsure of what facilities we were to expect. But I did gather from the web page that a private bathroom was included. When the shutters were closed the noise was less.

The Hotel Naomi in Venice was located in a nice area of Venice, about two blocks off Saint Mark's square. It was difficult to locate, since our water taxi (68 Euros per trip) could drop us off at the Square, but it took us a little while to roll our bags up and down the streets until we found the hotel. The hotel lobby was on the second floor and there is no elevator. The first floor lobby was apparently under construction. We were located up three flights of narrow stairs and it was difficult to get to the room. The gentlemen who checked us in was unfriendly and not helpful. Since we did not speak Italian, he was inclined to browbeat us. the room itself was nice, air conditioned, small but the bathroom was nice sized. All facilities were clean. There were no amenities available.

Venice is extremely expensive, so also each hotel there. Noemi is on lowest end of the range, but still quiet expensive for the price. Big plus is the location. It's really just 100 m walk to Piazza di St. Marco, which is most beautiful to see at night. Big minus on our stay was the room temperature. We been in Venice by temp. of about 35 degree Celsius at daytime, and 25 at night - and the room has no air condition or fan. We had to keep the window open, but it was still to hot to sleep. Due to open windows, the noice level was always too high, as the road is busy from 05:00 AM - 01:00 AM. For spring or autumn I can recommend the hotel. It's on great location, clean and even shared bathroom is no problem. But don't stay there in hot summer days - pay a bit more or go to Lido.

You can't beat the location of the hotel, it is 2 blocks from St Mark's Square. But nothing worked in our room- no airconditioning, TV remote was broken, and the phone didn't work. The night shift desk guy always seemed to be up the street drinking coffee. The price/quality ratio was not good either. We won't be staying here again.

You will not find a cheaper option than this place - it's €70/night for a single with shared bath, which is a bargain in Venetian terms. The fact it's 2 mins from Piazza San Marco makes it a very special deal. Spaciousness is not to be expected anywhere in central Venice, but I was impressed by the service and cleanliness of the facilities for the price. Highly recommended.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!They deserve to be ranked as the worest hotel ever! The staff is extremly rude and unhelpful, the rooms are very loud and dirty, and the shared bathrooms were unsainatary. If you want to enjoy your trip in Venice, you should look for a different hotel. I was very dissapointed from the moment I checked in. The staff would not even accomadate towels for our stay and when I asked if they can service some , they yelled at me. It was ridiculous. The Hotel Noemi was a very mixed experience. On the positive side, it is very central to the San Marco plaza and most of the top tourist places. The room was of good size and quality. Two of the receptionist staff were polite and helpful; two were not (one contradicting the initial, friendly, one). They did have a baggage parking facility if required (we didn't), enabling heavy luggage to be left during the time between checkout (11:00 a.m.) and any later final departure time. For us, the negatives outweighed the positives. We specifically requested a room not on the street side, as we had read that these were noisey (due to the near-continuous traffic of tourists, deliverers in trundling carts, and shop-front shutters clattering up and down); we were given a room directly overlooking the street. It was also above a restaraunte, as so hot; opening the windows enhanced the noise; closing them and using the noisey air-conditioning did not help. Neither did the invasion of mosquitoes with the window open. All this despite our having booked 5 weeks before. Breakfast was not included (contrary to what we were told on arrival). There was no tea/coffee making equipment in the room. The television was not cable, so there were only Italian programmes - fortunately, our stay was brief (3 days) and the weather good (so we were out a fair amount). We were offered an alternative room after we complained, but it was little bigger than the double bed and up two further flights of stairs (I had a broken foot, making this impractical).

A good room for the price. Noisy, but I expected that. I did have some problems with my key, and would have appreciated being given a new one (I had difficulty locking my door). I also was not crazy about having to turn my key in every time I left, as sometimes I had to wait a bit when I returned for someone to come to the desk. But the room was clean and perfectly adequate, and the location was excellent.

Noemi was a little jewel right off San Marco square - location couldn't have been better. The price was right for us on a budget. Would definitely recommend for the traveller on a budget who wants to be where the action is.

Delightful Venetian Style room in small and intimate hotel in very central location. Easy to find from Rialto or San Marco vaporetto stops. Windows open onto narrow C.dei Fabbri which can be a bit noisy during the day, but much quieter at night----except for the distant city bells. Very helpful and friendly staff. We will certainly return there next time.

I stayed in a single, shared bath and was not looking forward to it. But in Venice, where everything is expensive, it was totally worth sharing a bathroom to save 20-50 Euro a night. The bathroom was clean and bright and not used by a lot of people. The room size was good and the hotel location was phenomenal. Just get off at the Rialto stop and go straight up Calle dei Fabbri for 5 minutes. As soon as you go over a set of stairs the hotel and its restaurant appears around a bend. A few more steps and you are in San Marco Piazza. This is probably why it is so noisy at night. But I just wore ear plugs and the noise didn't bother me. I didn't get a breakfast included with my price so I am not sure if that means there isn't one available.

The Hotel Noemi is a very cute little hotel only about 2 blocks from St. Mark's Square. The room smelled of smoke, but the bedding did not, and the entire room was very clean (and since Italy just banned smoking indoors a short while ago, I'm sure that accounts for the smoke smell). The communal bathroom/shower was also immaculate. The rooms facing the street could be loud at night as people were coming home from the clubs. The only other small complaint I have is that the rooms were very chilly (but that is the same for most of Europe, so it may not be a direct reflection upon the Noemi). Overall, the staff did a good job and the hotel was a great buy for the money.

We went there on honeymoon in October - as so many others :-) It was a pleasant stay, the Hotel is very well located and a good value for the money. The only thing that was annoying was that one of the guys in the reception was so less service minded, call him unfriendly. No help to find restaurants or toilet paper etc. The other receptionists were fine, despite their lack of English. NB. We asked for a discount or maybe the keys to the spare bathroom since we stayed there for 7 days. But that was a no-go.

Hotel Noemi was wonderful. Although other reviewers commented on how noisy the street was in the mornings, we didn't find the noise to be a problem. I think as per price, the room was very good. Good location. We were not given the room when we reached there in the morning around 8:00 am. Also the guy at the reception took our passport to keep our lugguage at the hotel which was wiered. I'd gave him my passport as i didn't want to move with my luggage for another 3-4 hours, but that was the only annoying part of my stay there.

Even after having to change rooms due to the bed collapsing, the room that we stayed in was better than the picture on the web. It was in an excellent location but the pedestirans on the street could be heard through our closed window. Though I thought the bathroom was nice it was a bit cold. Overall though I would definately stay there again.

We stayed in early November so it was relatively quiet, but this was great value for money and a real find. Superb location - a stone's throw from St. Mark's, which is only 10 seconds around the corner. And 5 minutes from Rialto. The hotel directions on thier website were perfect. Our room was near perfect, small but perfecetly adequate, and clean, and judging from other comments here, we would recommend an en suite if you can afford it. Well worth it. Could be a bit noisy, but that seems par for the course everywhere. Staff were excellent for one afternoon he disappeared for nearly half an hour, but otherwise very polite and competent. Another plus, the fact that they have no breakfast meant you could lie in undisturbed if you wanted, and could have an italian breakfast in a nice cafe-bar almost next door. So we saw this as a bonus, seeing as other hotels dont typically get good mentions about their breakfast! Well worth staying here.

better not stay at this hotel during flooding season. The locat is very good, only the area near St. Marcos floods. And it took forever to take boat to Train Station. Need to give more time if you need to catch a train. Despite all this, this is a very lovely hotel, modern facility, warm decoration. convenient location.

I had difficult time locating the hotel. The front desk employee was bored and not very friendly. He gave me the room facing the main street even though I emphasized a back room. There is a restaurant next to the hotel and of course I was sleepless during the night. I wanted to check out the next morning but was told that I had to pay for my 3-day reservation. I told Michael (front desk employee) that I've cancelled other reservations made through Venere. com and was never asked to pay for the other nights. We both agreed that I stay another night and he would move me to another room. This room does not even have a sink! While using the shared bathroom, somebody kept knocking at the door even though I said that somebody was in the room! I moved out of the hotel on the third night. I will not recommend this hotel at all!

Best thing is the location - less than a minute's walk from st mark's square. Plus it's really good value for the location - we paid €90 for an en suite double, though that was low season. I can imagine it could get noisy in high season in some of the rooms though - ours overlooked the main street, and was above a bar, and it was fine for us but might not have been in August. Ask for a room on the other side if you're worried. Bed wasn't the comfiest ever, but that aside the room was nice, albeit in a kitsch Itallian way! Recommended for the location and price. PS. It's marked in the wrong place in the Rough Guide's map, which is the one we were using, so watch out! Otherwise it's not as hard to find as some of the others here are suggesting.

Good Value for low budget. 60 Euro for a doubble without bath, 3 min walk from St. Marks Square. Pretty noisy in the morning when the surrounding shopkeepers open up their shops (7-9 am). Friendly staff, resonable clean room and bathroom.

In general, were happy with the acomodation. Our room had a shared bathroom - unfortunately it seemd that there were a large number of rooms in the hotel sharing the one bathroom, which was frequently busy (had to wait for up to an hour) and not always as clean as it could have been.

Having read the other reviews I felt the location, room and amenities lived up to their billing. The price was fair, the room was clean and the location.. right in the heart of the action. It was noisy but I'd been warned about that and was note expecting it to be different. The staff were excellent, helpful, hospitable and amusing. Fair value for your dollar/euro.

Great hotel! Amazing location-under a 1 minute walk to San Marco Square! Nothing fancy but a nice clean place to stay & central to everything. Breakfast wasn't included but there are numerous places to eat right at the hotels doorstep-including gelati & a fabulous espresso bar! We would definitely stay at hotel Noemi again!

The room, location, and conditions were fine, but the people at reception were unfriendly and arrogant (particularly one who said he was the manager). He treated us inconsiderately and, although he moved us between rooms for his benefit, not ours, he tried to make us feel we should be grateful. He was angry and uncooperative when we complained. In fact, we were very uncomfortable in the so-called "Upgraded" room (with bath) where we were put one night, and the manager tried to tell us the air conditioner was working, when in fact it was only blowing uncooled air. Other receptionists were cool, at best. This is no way to run a good hotel. I would stay somewhere else if we were to go back to Venice.

Location very close to San Marco Square; however, it is very noisy at night. Must sleep with the windows closed as the mosquitoes are terrible. Evidence of the little critters are still on the walls. Have to walk through lobby to get to the bathroom.

We had read the previous reviews, and didn't find the area to be over-noisy. We come from a City, and found the noise to be fine. Plus, the cafe downstairs closed by 11, so no problems. We also wrote down the proper address, so had no problem finding it. We would stay here again--great facility in a great location!

It was a great hotel, despite the low star rating. The only caveat is the size of the rooms, and the lack of breakfast to be included in the price, but a good hotel nonetheless, conveniently situated in the heart of everything. Overall, a pleasant experience.

The location was spot on, you couldn't get any closer to St. Mark's square. The people there were very friendly and helpful - they offered to keep our luggage when we checked out so we wouldn't have to carry it around. The hotel room was basic, no frills but that's what we wanted.

We were very pleased with the stay, the hotel offered everything we needed. The location was absolutely convenient for exploring San Marco or the area around Rialto, access to the Vaporetti was also a matter of minutes. Compared to the price levels of the surroundings, this hotel had a very fair price for the three of us and offered a nicely furnished and well serviced room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We also did not experience excessive noise levels as some other posters state, however this may of course vary due to room location. Lastly, finding the place was a bit of a challenge for us Venice-first-timers. A more accurate map on venere.com would help, as would the full address (Calle dei Fabbri)instead of just naming the district - the alternative of course is to go to the hotels web site, which provides a more accurate map(and I to my shame did not do).

We had no hot water on our first night and the room had low ceiling and looked small with yellow wallpaper+ yellow curtains+ yellow bedsheets. Would choose to stay in Lido if we go back to venice. It is so easy to get around in venice, there is no need to stay in the crowded San Marco area.

Overall, our stay was great. The room was very nicely decorated and the 12 foot ceilings added to the ambiance. I suppose it is expensive to stay in Venice no matter which hotel you're at, but this hotel was the most expensive on our travels around Europe. I really enjoyed the close proximity to San Marco Square.

The hotel was above our expectations for a one star (and also after having read some of the other reviews). Room was well maintained. Excellent position (although was difficult to find at first). Hotel was very close to everything which did make it a bit noisy. The local bar/cafe seemed to operate all night which produced a lot of noise (music and general).

Noemi was awesome. The location is one of te only places in Venice that lets you go out without a map since everywhere in Venice there are signs pointing back to San Marco square. Highly recommended. Great rooms, if a little loud early in the morning when the city starts to wake up.

The Hotel Noemi was fantastic. The location was perfect just next to the Piazza San Marco and on the connecting street between the Piazza and the Rialto. They did charge me for an extra room for one night but it was my fault. You can go ahead and skip the Hotel's restaurant b/c it's over- priced and the food wasn't that great. I would recommend any of the restaurants by the Rialto. They were all fantastic.
